Love this place. We go as often as we can when we are home in England. Food always hot and fresh. Service is nice and friendly. It does get really busy though, which is great to see the business being successful. Been here for brunch and afternoon tea. A fab experience each time Carry on ladies. We love Poppies ❤️❤️

Consistently great breakfasts in Poppies, over many years of visiting. Have tried quite a few others in the area but have yet to find any that are quite as good value for money, such quality choice and efficient, friendly staff. Always really busy but that just shows that they're on to a winning formula. Keep up the great work! 👍🏼😋

Very clean, friendly place to eat. Prices are average but the childrens menu is limited which is why it lost a star. I had to buy an adult curry portion at adult price for my 3 year old. Lovely, cosy surroundings with safe distancing & friendly staff. One way system in place. There is a warm atmosphere here. Outdoor climbing frame & slide for age 3+. Huge car park & wheelchair friendly! Will definitely visit again.

Went there today for an after funeral gathering. Haven't been there for many years, have to say the refurbishment is exceptional, very welcoming staff and the buffet provided, was excellent. Definitely worth a visit.

We visited The Woodlands mainly to check out if it was suitable for our little dog, this being a dog friendly pub. What a great place! Food was great (curry rice and chips) and plentiful. Nice n quiet - just how we like it and great service too. We'll be returning again soon with Max 🐶

Went here for breakfast today for the first time with my daughter and granddaughter. The place is lovely the staff were lovely and the menu has lots of choice. I had the DIY breakfast and it was the nicest breakfast I have had in a long while. Definitely value for money. I will definitely be going back. 5 stars.

Unfortunately I was attending a funeral but have to recommend the Buffet. Gorgeous hot pot, hot samosas, chicken goujons, and sausage rolls and the freshest tasty sandwiches amongst other delicacies. Desserts were pretty yummy too. Can't fault Alison's buffets and the new decor is beautiful.

A little disappointed to be honest. We used to go here all the time before lock down, but the prices have gone up a fair bit for the same food, and service was very rushed the girl was clearing our plates while people were still eating.

Lovely pub, great atmosphere, and family friendly. Once a month there is a community market on the car park, its getting bigger each month, we love walking round it and seeing what people within the community are making, it's such a great event.

This is a great pub for family meals. Puts the other nearby pubs to shame. The service is excellent, friendly and very quick. The food is lovely and very reasonably priced. (I’d recommend the Chicago sloppy burger to anyone). The griffin, trigger pond, butchers arms, and the ship inn don’t have a patch on this place.

Very nice breakfast in Poppies (the day time 'cafe' in the Woodlands) served hot. This is first time we've been in since they re-opened after a major refurbishment and were pleased with surroundings and friendliness. Would have been a 5 but service was slow but I understand this will improve as they are currently recruiting new staff for Poppies.

We had a wonderful buffet lunch for a colleague who was retiring. The whole experience was marvellous. The buffet was excellent with a great variety of food and plenty of of it. The area was decorated with balloons and banners and little touches like the pretty napkins and a beautifully arranged fruit platter made it feel really personal. The lady retiring said the she felt like it was a massive family party and that was partly down to the friendliness and attention to detail from the staff. Thank you so much for making it so special for her and so easy for me. I will definitely use you again.

The most consistently good chain pub I've been to, their cook must be way above his pay grade because everything is always cooked correctly. Never had a steak that was more done than asked for from here. Reasonably priced (3 very large meals and 3 drinks were about £40).

Staff are very friendly and welcoming and are the main reason for this 5 star revue. Traditional english breakfasts served that are of good quality and value. Specials board is always worth a look as this sometimes provides something not on their menu. Look forward to my next visit.

This place is welcoming, it has an excellent food service during the morning period when food is offered under the name of "Poppies" up to 2 o'clock. After "Poppies" closes you have a choice of food under the name of The Woodlands. Good food is served at sensible prices, however, service can be slow if lots of customers arrive at once. The service issue is due to limited kitchen facilities which cannot be overcome. If you are in no rush it is worth the wait for your food.

Good deals on food, drinks are reasonably priced. Kids menu is main, dessert and drink for £3.99 which is a bargain. Good portions. Only thing I would say about this pub is that people leaving at closing time are noisy and inconsiderate, not the pubs fault though I suppose.

Have been dining at the woodlands for months now,in Poppies with friends, also in the main pub of a bigger menu. My wife and me celebrated our Golden Wedding at the weekend. We had guests staying for the weekend and we wanted to take 12 people for Breakfast. I called in the day before and asked if they could reserve us a table for noon on the Saturday. When we got there the prosecco was in chillers on the table. The table was decorated and even had 3 foil balloons it was a lovely surprise. As on previous visits the food was excellent, the service first class and the staff friendly. lovely people and a little gem if you fancy a nice breakfast or brunch in Great Sankey. Give it a go and see for yourself. Well done Poppies and thanks fir getting our special day off to a great start.

Noticed in reviews that someone said that caeliacs and gluten intolerant should be careful. I go there with a caeliac and she is well looked after, even having her own special soup and sandwiches at my mother's funeral. We find that Christmas meals are the best we have had is better than any other place in Warrington. The staff are really friendly and they will go out of their way for clients to get exactly what they want. Would recommend Poppies to anyone.

Absolute shame its had to close for a while until they lift Warrington Covid 19 restrictions. Love going here with my family for a breakfast in poppies or even a take out breakfast both as good as each other. Good pub. It has a good atmosphere, fairly good for those wanting a couple of bevvies with some mates. Friday and Saturday nights tend to be busy too, with a more lively atmosphere. Couple of pool tables and a darts board make it excellent for social drinking. The barstaff have always been very friendly to me and my group of mates, and the food is nice typical "pub grub" bits and bobs. Also, I can honestly say that this pub exceeds its previous reputation by far. While I was employed there, I saw no fights during my final year, and none reported in gossip to me since. Very pleasant pub!
