We booked a big table for 18 people and had a nice time. Service was cheery and very helpful. The building and tables are attractive and create a nice place to eat. Food and prices are what you would expect from a surrey gastropub (what that means depends on your wallet and food expectations!). Mains were generally good (excellent Yorkshire puddings) although some desserts could have been better (at least on this occasion). One quick tip, read the menu carefully as the veggie roast is the normal roast without the meat.

I had a wonderful meal and service. I ordered the roasted lamb and it was delicious. The sauce was classic and the presentation was simple but intentional. Even though I’m just a tourist, I absolutely enjoyed my meal and would love to come back. They have a fantastic outdoor space too.

A wonderful country dining experience. Food was 10/10. Lamb rump was cooked perfectly. Cocktails are well worth looking at. The 'nothing' was really good! I couldn't fault this venue at all. Still table service and even with only 2 or 3 girls they totally handled the crowed. If your on a motorbike, watch out for the plant pots and little logs on your way up to the front entrance (used to stop cars parking in certain spots) as they are sturdy but small and will throw you off your wheels if you don't see them! Will be returning to try the rest of those amazing cocktails ASAP!

Very beautiful pub, decorated with such a good sense of style inside and out . I loved all the details like a basket full of colourful blankets in case you need one when sitting outside. The service excellenct, very polite and pleasant staff. And really delicious dishes. Try the lamb. Is super good.

Had the best meal for a long time for my 40th tonight. Thank you so much to the staff who were spot on - friendly helpful and attentive when needed. I had crispy moreish squid followed by a perfectly cooked medium sirloin. But actually the best thing for me was the soft warm herby bread rolls with garlic butter. Our whole party was super pleased with every course, will be back for more!!

Beautifully presented with a variety of antiques and other interesting items, cosy, atmospheric and lovely and clean. Found this one as a last minute stop off for dinner on the way out of London, on a weekday evening. Booked a table online on their website for an hour later. No problem being seated early as it didn't take as long as expected to get out of London. We had a very cosy nook with sofa and a cabinet of port separating us from our neighbours. Very friendly and attentive staff, short wait for food. The food was spot on, I had the duck, which fell off the bone the moment the fork touched it (how they got it onto the plate in one piece I don't know!) Perfectly done. Hubby had a very tasty burger and couldn't get over how good the fries were - super crispy and delicious. We have two small children and they were made very welcome, although I wasn't aware there were high chairs available until we had finished. (We didn't ask to be fair - youngest was tired and on our laps most of the time anyway) Children's menu was available though I didn't see it on the website. Only one negative and that was despite very reasonable prices for most items, (£16 for the duck) I think £4.50 per child for only one scoop of ice cream (high quality as it was) was a little excessive! They enjoyed it though. Will definitely return. Highly recommended.

Busy place early afternoon on a Sunday, best to book in advance, especially if you want to order one of the amazing Sunday roast lunches. There were 3 of these ordered at our table (a choice of chicken or beef on the day) and all 3 plates were left clean. There were 2 burgers ordered, they were also excellent, great buns and one of the best burger patties I've had outside of my kitchen. The final dish we ordered was the no meat roast - this was dominated by the amazing Yorkshire pudding they serve with all the roast meals but could have done with more vegetables. When we mentioned this to the server she said we should have just asked for more, and that sums up the service - attentive, efficient, helpful and friendly.

Having recently moved to this area we are making our way round all of the different places to eat so we tried here, really nice setting and the food was delicious!! The only thing that brings it down a star was the smell out the back , as we had the dog we sat out the back under the covered area but there was a unpleasant smell , . It didn't ruin the meal. Met my best friend there for Sunday Lunch yesterday. Roast lamb was delicious and plenty of it. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The pub itself is lovely. Proper country pub with some outstanding cuisine. Visited earlier today for some lunch and had a fantastic meal. Food may be a little pricier than the norm but that is made up for in quality. Also, staff are very smartly dressed and attentive. Only criticism I have is that my other half is vegetarian and there are very limited options despite there being a vast menu with plenty of meat types and burgers available. All in all a great pub to stop by for a beer or if you want a goof meal out.

Would highly recommend the mezze board and warm breads to start with, then the summer green risotto - deliciously creamy, and not missing out on anything as a veggie dish. Service was a little slow but very friendly. Would come again.

Good service, nice staff. The real ale has not been so good of late as it was in recent years. The Pride wasn't entirely on song today, and the only alternative was Landlord. However, the service is good and the staff are polite and friendly.

The food and atmosphere is very good. The waiting staff were also very good but the overall package was not able to achieve 5 stars for me for the following two reasons: - Items I had reviewed online prior were not available (main and dessert) - There were a couple of drinks orders initially brought to our table but not ours, and then some of ours were incorrect. However these were corrected by staff These are minor points and I would give 4 and half stars taking into account the above, however I can't and don't believe 5 stars would be appropriate when there are issues. Overall I would certainly recommend and would visit again myself. As an additional note - The steak provided was very good (I would recommend my dish the sirloin); and the waiter made an exception to adjust the sides included to my preference which was very much appreciated.

I almost don't want to tell you about this as it will get even busier now! This place is what pub food should be - well made, well priced and served by lovely staff. The choice is good and different for lunch and dinner. Go early on a nice day to get a seat outside. The beers on tap are lovely, including their own special brew. This is a great place for just a meal out or for an occasion.

Met family here for a meal a couple of days after Christmas. Pub was fine, felt a little generic and grubby but was fine. Menu was ok nothing special or out of the ordinary but I felt a little pricy for what arrived. Staff are pleasant and worked hard as it was busy. The place deserves to be one of the top gastro country pubs. Food is delicious. We had the seafood and meat platter for starter and then a blue cheese burger and olives stuffed seabass for our main. Even our daughter who is extremely picky was a big fan of their mac n cheese. Staff was friendly despite having a gang of children running around. The only complaint was coffee was brought late and cold. Which was duly rectified by the staff...good job!

We found The Four Horseshoes because we had taken the wrong road but what a find! The staff were welcoming, the menu comprehensive and sensibly priced. My companion is vegan and there was no difficulty in finding dishes that met her needs. Only reason i'm down starring it is because i asked for 1 glass of prosecco and a J2O - and it cost me over £10. The glass of prosecco was six pound something so the J2O must've been nearly £4. That's extortionate. I can buy a bottle in waitrose for the price i paid for that one glass. Takes the mick to be fair.

I have just had the pleasure of holding my husbands secret 50th lunch at The Four Horseshoes. Can I firstly thank all the staff for serving our 40 guests so efficiently and with such a friendly manner. The chef put a wonderful menu together for us and was very reasonable too! Outstanding food, tasty, hot and beautifully presented, I take my hat off to the chef for getting the food out to all 40 guests in such good time! I highly recommend The four Horseshoes for any celebration. We were looked after so well, especially as one guest had a severe gluten intolerance and was cared for perfectly and sensitively. The décor is just so warm, inviting, cosy yet a lovely modern twist. We have been a number of times before too, for intimate birthdays, but this proved to me how well they can handle and treat a much larger number. Thank you again for making my husbands 50th party lunch a complete success!
