Brilliant local pub, where the locals are happy to include visitors into the conversations and banter. Highly recommend. Very dog-friendly too! 🐾

Nice little pub with friendly staff and good beers

There are six pubs in Ripley. This is the unreconstructed 19th century one. Worth a visit. Beer is good. Welcoming.

Love this pub. A proper village pub with excellent, well-looked-after beer on tap.

Great village local, friendly welcome with great selection of real ales in prime condition (courtesy of Colin) with Harry the boss & his lady steering the vessel + socialising with the regulars.....
Always enjoy my infrequent visits, used to live locally a many years ago.
I look forward to my next voyage!

Could do with a nice beer option on cask. Bloody Abbott ale!!

It was nice for me to find such an old fashioned true pub. Ok that means it's full of locals, it only has on what they drink, and it has no music etc..
For all its faults a true pub is still a gem to be cherished a d preserved.
There was nothing we liked to drink so we had one and moved on. We felt welcome. Can't ask much more.
3 stars because of what I said. It's a good old pub but expectations and ratings haved moved on.

A gem of a good old fashioned pub! Warmly welcomed by the Landlady and the locals drinking there, also met the Landlord later, again very friendly. If you’re looking for a gastro-pub this probably isn’t for you, but if want a drink in a great pub with atmosphere and friendly locals then look no further, highly recommended.

Lovely and cosy, great for a drink with friends. Very small garden area. Love the vintage feel about it.

Quaint small pub, was told Eric Clapton used it as a regular haunt in his alcoholic days and general Nelson used it as a layover on his way to Portsmouth, can't validate any of it but the beer is chilled so that should be worth something
