I have lived in Woking as a kid and been to this place a few times. Now this place is spot on. Food was amazing, very warm welcome soon as we walked in. Greeted by Amie and chef kosta. Nothing was too much trouble. Had a large party of 13 people, food was amazing and didn't take too long at all. Had a nice chat with Jo and Joe about how long they have been here. All very friendly with the kids and brought out some treats for the kids. Can't wait to come back. Well worth the hour drive

We had a great night at The Surrey on Friday. Went for dinner and had a few drinks. The food was amazing and very good value. The drinks are also great value and they have a good selection of beers and gin! Liv and Sabina looked after us really well and nothing was too much trouble. It’s a great place with a good atmosphere and one of the best pubs we’ve visited in a long while. Looking forward to our next night there!

Held a wake here recently and all the staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. We felt very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The buffet we had was lovely and there was a good range. We were provided with take away boxes for the left overs. Will definitely visit again to try the hot food.

We came to the Surrey tonight for dinner. It was really busy but was informed that there was a slight wait for food. This certainly did not effect the quality of the food at all. We ordered an XL mixed grill and a loaded 12oz philly steak. They were cooked to perfection by the chef Kosta. The bar staff, Georgia and Sabina were extremely friendly and helpful. JP was very welcoming. Will definitely be coming again soon.

First time for me coming here, to a pub that my partner used to visit as a kid. Has had a great refurb and the service was great. Lovely friendly staff to meet us, Jo and Amie at the bar as well as Joe serving our food. Thanks to Kotsta who cooked the food. The food is OK - there is a noticeable difference in quality between last year and this year. There are a LOT of people that sit on the outside patios and smoke and while this is the smoking area, it precludes sitting outside, even near the kids play area. It is reasonable to expect that 4 people eating together, having ordered at the same time, would have their meals brought to the table at around the same time. We had 1 plate of chips and 1 unrelated meal served first then 2 meals served about 15 minutes later and then the last meal to accompany the chips served 10 minutes after that. So life and kitchen problems happen - but it's not great to have your server complain to you while he's bringing your food that he cooks, serves and washes up!!!

Incredible value for money especially if you are looking quantity. The pub has been fully refurbished they have done a great job. I tried the burger challenge which is a mistake overall as a food experience. But it was good to try to see what appeals to people. The burger was actually not bad at all it is shame the meat was too dry and was lacking of juice. But considering it is an outrageous burger more than tasty burger. It is well above pub burger average. And for the price you pay I think it is great. Double check your bill though we were charged twice for an item you consumed only once and that is a precious tip.

The pub has become a go too place in the last year or so. The food is fantastic and the staff can't do enough to help you. Healthy banter and a great laugh. I can watch live sport feel safe and have my beloved chicken wings. An absolute turn around and fair play to the staff for achieving this. Love it Keith

I booked the snug to celebrate my birthday, with family and friends. It was absolutely lovely. Claire and her amazing team were brilliant. They went above and beyond to cater for all of our needs. Nothing was too much trouble for them. If you want a friendly and excellent service then The Surrey is the place to go. Really can't wait to go back.

Good food a very affordable price. Can't fault the friendliness of the bar or the waiting staff. Only thing that stopped it being a 5 star review was the condition of the cutlery and glasses. A few seconds spent on polishing the watermarks away would change that. Will definitely be coming back though

Busy pub, food was good as the burger tasted good, and was well done. Waffle fries were well done. The missing condiments such as vinegar would be nice to have instead of just sauces. Pot holes on entrance to car park need to be addressed as they are very deep and hard to see at night.

We had a wake here after mum's funeral - couldn't fault it. When arranging it the staff were so sympathetic and helpful. On the day everything was laid out for us in our 'area', and the buffet was truly delicious! Everyone commented on how good it was, and they even gave us 'doggy boxes' for leftovers. Mum was 90, so even though it was sad, it was also a good get together for family to remember her, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to do it. Thanks all the team at the Surrey.

A fantastic weekend at the Surrey! Visited friends for the weekend and enjoyed every moment in the Surrey. If you want challenge food go to this place. The food is wicked. By far the biggest rack if ribs I've ever seen, let alone eaten. Loved it. It was a monster and for only £11 (Friday is deal day) I was blown away by the portion size and the quality. Fantastic for a pre drinks meal with mates or if you just want to pig out. Brilliant. Staff are friendly and the clientele are relaxed. It's a budget friendly feast. Will definitely be going back!

I have been visiting the Surrey for the last few months since it reopened after lockdown. The pub is super friendly and clean. The management and team are always really helpful and give great service. The food has is great value and very tasty too!

Had a lovely evening tonight with lots of food at a very good price. Previously, the food and staff attitude has been variable but now, there has been a complete turnaround. Management and staff now care. Still shows sports events, so you can watch while you eat, however, the pool table now feels more segregated away from the food side. Been here a few times. Ideal halfway meet up point with family as we both live an hour away. Rung up this time in advance to book table of 14, was asked to ring food in advance. Turned up and had an area sectioned off for us which was nice. Place had been done up since last visit. Food came out with a few mistakes but understandable and would have been good to get kids meals through first. Everyone enjoyed their food and very good price. Will return

Not a bad meal, had the mixed grill burger and got a lot of meat for my money. Have now visited The Surrey on a number of occasions and will definitely visit again. Sometimes you get given a discount voucher when paying for your meal to use on your next visit, which can be 20% off or more. Great for the kids as there is an enclosed play area with climbing frame and slide etc so you can have a little time to yourself and not worry the kids will get bored.
