N. D.We had a very pleasant two-night stay with our dog. The staff were welcoming, accommodating and pleasant throughout our stay. The food…exceptional! We ate both nights in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the home cooked meals (the pie is highly recommended!). Breakfast was plentiful and top quality. Overall we were very pleased with our visit and would happily return — highly recommended.

R. N.We went for a celebratory Sunday lunch, three of us. I booked on line which was easy and the day before our booking I received an email to remind me.
We arrived slightly early for our one o'clock reservation and were cordially met and shown to our table. Drinks and menus were brought and we chose and ordered, main course only to begin. When they arrived, the meals looked enormous so we were pleased that we did not have starters. The food was excellent, probably one of the best Sunday lunches we have had. We could not manage a sweet, which on another day we would have ordered. The dining room was one of several that we saw, it was clean, airy and spacious and the service could not be faulted. 5 star excellence at very reasonable prices. We will no doubt return
F. P.Food very tasty but staff were a little distracted. We found we had to ask for cutlery, serving spoons, and accompaniments. Maybe next Mother's Day add some pretty flowers to tables to make it a proper occasion. Oh and possibly take the Winter Menu off now it's British Summer time!?

J. P.The Garden Room we stopped in was lovely and nice and quiet. The Inn was lovely and nicely decorated and the food was also very nice. The only thing that let them down was the service . We were sat down and told someone would take our order for drinks, after 25 mins of waiting my wife had to go to the bar to get some .We had to wait another 10 mins for someone to come and take our order for the meal. We had to go up to the bar again for more drinks . Nobody asked us if everything was ok , nobody made us feel special .Hopefully a one off .

J. H.Where do I begin? First impressions were great with a friendly greeting from Ian. We stayed in the "Cook" room which was a lovely room. Well presented and worth the money. Our first meal there was haddock and chips. The best I have had! Breakfast was fabulous and our evening meal was the steak which was amazing. All in all it was a really pleasant stay and if we are ever that way again we will definitely stay there again. 10/10

Upon arrival, Me and my wife were pleasantly surprised with how friendly and welcoming the staff were and how clean and homely the accommodation. On the evening we ate in the restaurant and were so satisfied with the amount of choice and price, food was amazing with a good portion size!
The rest of our stay was also 5* I cant think of a single point of improvement, nothing was too much to ask and we will definitely be back!

A. G.We recently had a delicious lunch at the Admiral Rodney. Oli our waiter was super friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and the background music was excellent . Would definitely recommend.
N. D.This place looks great. It's friendly and clean but the food looked so much better than it tasted. Kids meals are over priced at £10 for 1 sausage on some mash. Being served in a deep bowl was impractical for little hands. Main meals were presented beautifully but tasteless ( chicken and chorizo pie ) the home made pastry was nice but soggy and the filling lacked seasoning. The Lamb rump tasted ok but served on a cold plate, the mash watery and tasteless. Underwhelming really.

The establishment had only been taken over, by the mother and daughter team who served us that day, 11 weeks previously. The warm welcome and excellent food and service will result in us visiting again and again. We were a party of 8 who were seated on an excellent table and all the meals were delicious. We noted that there was plenty of seafood on the menu, suggesting this may be a speciality of their clearly very competent chef. Between all of us, our choices included, moules, nicoise sald, langoustines, baked camembert, roast beef, roast lamb, fish and chips and a variety of luxurious deserts. The attention to detail throughout was superb. I highly recommend a visit. Additionally, the garden was lovely and the toilets spotlessly clean. 5 stars guys and see you very soon. Thank you for a fantastic afternoon.

D. a. M. O.Booked for lunch on Thursday. Food good and staff pleasant, but experience let down by uncomfortably cool temperature in the bar area. It was a cool day and they hadn't lit the stove either. Has put me off going there again unfortunately.
