Reviews of The Crown - JD Wetherspoon
M. C.
Good place for a meal morning or evening. We had 2 traditional breakfasts my wife and l. Very nice only £10 with teas. Absolutely huge place with basement & first floor. All to weatherspoons good standards
M. B.
Visited twice while on holiday. Staff are all really friendly and efficient and all look happy there. Breakfasts looked really good. Great selection of beers. Nice cobbled courtyard area. The inside is nice, clean and very spacious. Will visit again for sure
S. B.
Service by young man at the bar was lovely.
Six of us popped in for food, just 2 of us were disappointed though. I ordered 8 oz sirloin steak medium to well done, plus chips. Unfortunately, my steak was very well done, resembling an old worn out sandal, so I didn't finish it. Shame, as I was looking forward to some steak 🙄.
H. R.
Stayed here for 2 nights and had one evening meal and 2 breakfasts. One breakfast order they got wrong (but was corrected). One beer listed in menu at one price, but labelled at a higher price at the bar. Bed comfortable. I suppose you get what you pay for!
M. B.
Food was good staff friendly. I had the small fish and chips beware it's small lol not complaining it was enough for me. Toilet was reasonable though no soap in hand dispenser I used (small issue) it won't stop me returning.
N. P.
My son had left his headphones, after writing to them Jess rang me up and looked after me.
Jess posted the headphones out to me.our 2 night stay was excellent.
Excellent service food service was superb.
Thankyou
Jess

Stayed at a wetherspoon hotel for the first time ever August 13th before going to concert at race course.
Room was great.
Air conditioned
Large, with large bathroom.
Comfy and very clean. Tea and coffee and bottles of water.
Had a few drinks, after checking in, on front of pub prior to moving on to gig.
Bottle of villa maria to share. Lovely.
Too comfy to move so ordered food....big mistake.
Hunters chicken served with some dross sold as mashed potato. More like papier mache. Urghhh.vile. drinks that came with the food was supposed to be wine but I think it came out the river. It was horrible so Sent it back and just had another bottle of villa maria.
Now I know it is "wetherspoons" but by God it should be edible and drinkable.
However we would stay at the hotel again but definitely not eat there or any other "spoons"
S. M. A.
Popped in for breakfast with my good lady Saturday morning,
Had two breakfast,
The food looked nice tasted ok . But the really problem the food was stone cold .
Staff friendly, pub nice and clean . Shame about the food.
C. H.
First visit to this JDW and it's a big place. Sat in the nice town centre of Worcester. Service was a bit slow but the food was great.
D. A.
Nice big spacious pub, good choice on the menu. Visited a couple of times for the large breakfast. Good value for money in my opinion came out very quickly after our order. Nice and tasty for around £5.00 great value.
D. S.
We stayed a couple of days/nights here and had Breakfasts and Evening Meals here.
I have to add this that the plates were very hot but the meals on them were just warm and I suppose I should have complained, but the staff were very busy. Our room we were in were to die for..
N. H.
Great value but not always a great experience. The place is spacious, clean and well run with an unbelievable selection of well treated beers, a menu to please everyone and at a price that leaves you wondering how they can possibly make a profit! Because it is such good value, this large pub can become crowded and some of the crowd, indeed many, raucous with no thought to fellow customers who wish to have a conversation without having to shout.
I had a couple of issues with the curry I ordered. It tasted great but I found a potato chip on my plate in amongst my rice and the rice had been reheated and came out with too many toasted grains stuck together. The poppadom that came covering the curry had not been cooked carefully enough and was far from crisp in places and had not even been given a chance to puff up enough leaving it soggy and chewy in many places.
Saying all this I am tempted to visit this pub again because of the unbelievable range, extraordinary value and good level of service, but I will choose a quieter time.

One of the nicer Spoons I've been to. Still same menu and prices, cocktails are mixed well. Clean, comfortable, large place, staff are nice.
C. C.
Hotel was lovely. Stayed 1 night. Only downside was the food. Had a lovely donner, but breakfast next morning was cold. Bottomless coffee was nice though.
F. W.
Had a curry lunch, predictable.
Got to say, I've never had fried flat nan breads before and hope not to again. Basic curry tasty at least.
K. G.
Stayed in the hotel. Lovely big room with dual aspect. Music inspired deco. Walkin shower. Pub was also nice. Sadly no veiw from windows.
F. T.
2nd visit in recent times. Advised b'fast included but it wasn't. Room clean, warm, comfortable and everything very reasonably priced. Booking Office has staff missing all to often. B'fast = good choice and nice. Air con....good shower...basic but good tv. Would have like a deal with meals included, but no real probs. Great location too.
A. J.
I do enjoy the food and drink but what really let's the place down is sticky and leftover bits of food and drink left on the tables, the menu's are always dirty and unhygienic & to top it off yes the floors maybe mopped and carpets hoovered but they never look sparkling clean, and this is why I leave a 3 star rating.
B. M.
It's a better wetherspoon pub..... much better! My steak was delicious and the wife's jacket potato was also nice. Good value food and drinks in a nice setting.
M. A.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Place was clean with good covid-19 guidelines in place.
Toilets were clean.
Lovely building, so much seating available too.
Had breakfast there and the breakfast wraps were cooked to perfection! Thank you!
C. H.
Excellent great food Spoons always reliable. Friendly helpful staff. Went in 3 times over stay in Worcester
C.
Staff very friendly, welcoming and efficient. Love Wetherspoons, good food at very reasonable prices.
D. F.
Lovely food at a very good price and with an alcoholic drink included with your meal.
C. R.
Ordered jacket potato. Came out the size of a kids meal. Had to clear a table off too, as every table had empty glasses, plates and rubbish on. Salad wasn't a salad, just leafs.
M.
Not enough seating areas for families, but the food was nice with a good atmosphere and staff.
R. P.
Great breakfast roll and endless coffee all for a staggering £2.49. Fab place to enjoy the Saturday newspaper in comfort and no pressure to go. Ended up staying for a great pint of beer at £1.99 a pint. Staff really friendly and welcoming.
Great work Tim.
L. F.
Great wetherspoon on the sea front had a good breakfast served by friendly staff nice view across pleasure beach
C. J.
A typical wetherspoons, cheap and cheerful, only downfall was table tops were extremely sticky, not sure was cleaning product was used, but it left sticky.
G. G.
Lots of dirty tables food not presented well. Dips normally come in separate pots but placed in a bowl with the chicken strips and hallumi fries so if you didn't like the sauce it was tough my nine year old wasn't up to Chipotle mayonnaise. Food lovely though so that's what we go for a quick bite.
D. K.
It seemed as if there weren't enough staff for the size of the place. Very empty when I was there but lots of tables needed clearing, upstairs was open but we were asked to move because it was meant to be closed. Food was available on the app but chef told us it wasn't. But it's a spoons. Still cheap and cheerful.
S. K.
Great value food, evening dinner outside in the sunshine ☀️🍽🍺🧡
E. H.
Good food and service and plenty of room and tables. Well situated in Worcester town centre.
R. N.
Food was super quick using the app on a Saturday night; table was cleared and cleaned as we sat down. Howrver, the Wifi/4G connection was difficult to maintain even connected to the cloud.
K. M.
We had a lovely stay here, very comfy beds and the room was lovely. Perfect location to see Worcester on foot.
S. H.
Great staff. Good beer 🍺
D. G.
5 stars for the guy behind the till TY , forgot our honey glaze but offered a free drink that's how it's solved ! 👍
K. L.
With out doubt, The best Weatherspoons I've been in, lots of different areas inside & outside more like a pub !! EXCELLENT.
A. K.
Yoo this place is so beautiful and cozy if you are in Worcester I definitely recommend to visit
T. C.
Typical spoons. Had an all day brunch because we'd missed the 11.30 breakfast cut off. Must say it was excellent. Returned at night for some drinks. Great prices.
t. o.
Popped in Wednesday evening, had a pint of guinness (delish) and special offer of fish and chips for £5. Now, usually the fish is delish too, but on this occasion, 24 Feb, it seemed the fish had been cooked a few times. Dark brown batter, hard, and dry cod. I would have complained, but was starving so ate it. Was OK, but not up to usual standard.
J. B.
The greatest location for a concealed Wetherspoons, stylish and lovely staff that actually look like they want to go somewhere in there career within customer service, food was ACTUALLY good, cooked and presented well.
L. A.
Can't go wrong with weatherspoons; this one has ample space but up and down stairs, friendly staff and as always, excellent range and value to offer. Will definitely return.
L. 2.
Not much to complain about as it is a bar. Loud sometimes but that's to be expected. Staff are outstanding ! Food is sometimes a little unappealing but still tastes good. It's cheap !!
M. P.
Placed an order using the app to my table. Food was delivered in reasonable time and was tasty.
Bizarrely though having ordered a cappuccino a member of staff bought an empty mug to my table and directed me to coffee machines a good 20 metres away from my table.
I find this counterproductive for the order and pay app as I now had to leave the table with my stuff to go and fetch my coffee for a machine.
Apart from this slightly bizarre approach to app ordered coffee you can't complain about the price.
M. W.
Have been going here for a few years now and have never experienced this before but on our last visit on Saturday night the drinks we ordered on our third round contained no alcohol despite us being charged for them. Double Vodka and coke and double Bacardi and coke
Upon returning to the bar the manager was called and the issue rectified.
Mistakes can be human errors and can be accepted in circumstances where the order may be large or a mixture of alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks, this wasn't either
I am not one to complain and it made no difference to our night out but just wanted folks to be aware
Oh and just in case anyone is thinking I bet they were the worst for wear anyway, we were not.
Otherwise a great time was had in friendly welcoming surroundings as always
R. M. J.
Pub great (tho hard to find a table with a nice temperature/draught/lighting balance). Hotel potentially great, but too many problems - and staff/management not in a rush to fix them. I won't stay again for a while. :(
A. G.
Great for a stop over. Lovely and clean , everything you need and a good location. Only four stars cos of lack of lift. But I didn't ask so not really their fault . Great service too
A. C.
Great location, lovely staff, bit tired looking (establishment not staff! 😁), but perfect for a drink in between shopping or sight seeing 👍
H. S.
Great service, great range of food. Felt private and relaxed despite being packed. Gave 5 stats because the prices are great and staff are very good.
J. W.
The food was a good standard for pub food, and enjoyable. However the service was frustratingly poor. We were a party of four and struggled to get service, despite the pub being only half full. It took a number of requests to get any service or even take the order.
The score of three star overall represents four star for food and one star for service.
R. E.
Only a few days, but what a great few days. Nothing to complain about whatsoever. WELL DONE.
J. C.
Great service and prices , tasty food good choice of beers
M. D.
Nice pub. Centrally located in Worcester.
Large place with upstairs seating as well.
Just watch out for the step as you approach the bar.
C. H.
Really enjoyed my visit, friendly, helpful staff. Food & drinks reasonably priced. Pizza was better than a lot of the pizza restaurants. Would recommend. Was hoping to get a room in the hotel but had to re-arrange planned trip & all the rooms were booked out.
K. P.
Well pub was very busy. Tables weren't wiped unless asked for. Couldn't find salt asked bar staff they pointed. One member actually went looking for us so we'll done to him.
My steak was undercooked so not enjoyable.
Even though busy the pub is very big
A. P.
Great evening with friends.
Food and drink was what we expected in a 'spoons so perfectly acceptable.
Service was a bit slow and there was no ice or butter available. Still had a great evening.
m. c.
Typical wetherspoons, cheap and cheerful, full of young ones late at night.
D. J.
Still no salt !!!! Also visited 7 weeks ago and wasn't any salt then???? Visited on a Wednesday at 3.30pm in half term. Very busy. Had a full English breakfast. Egg was slightly undercooked but I'm sure if you request to have the egg well done they would. Very disappointed about the salt...
P. S.
Fantastic fire engines seagull saving and well priced beer . I can't say it's going to be like this every day .
i. r.
Nice pub, but like a lot of pubs the tables were sticky. Good selection of real ale as always. Food on the average side, the accommodation was excellent as we have stayed in your hotels before.
G. S.
Standard Wetherspoons pub downstairs. Cocktails were awful, but never mind. Stayed 1 night in the hotel above, very clean, comfortable bed, city centre location. We were cycling and they agreed to let us keep the bikes in the room. Worcester is nice place, plenty of local bars and restaurants. Would stay again if in the area.
T. T.
Was busy and it took a while but had a lovely meal
M. B.
The room was very good. Big and clean.
My only complaint was the breakfast next morning. The full English was cold. All cooked nicely but cold. Did not want to send it back as you hear of what might happen. I hope Wetherspoon's do something about it as they are usually very good..
R. D.
It's OK for a Spoons - been in better but more worse than this one
D. V.
Quite a nice ' spoons ! V good selection of beers and ciders.
C.
This place has to get five stars as the experience for the price was ridiculously good. I paid £35 for a single room and it was clean, quiet, air conditioned and straightforward. Keycard system felt very safe as there are three places that require your keycard before entering the hotel area.
Downstairs is a standard spoons - cheap, cheerful and nothing pretentious about it. Would highly recommend for a single traveller.
G. M.
Lovely place we were on a day trip.
A. K.
As a witherspoon this must be the best one iv bin to great service staff we're great with my granson
n. j.
Good basic pub grub, cheap and good service.
S.
Had lasagne & salad, which was hot and tasted good. Service was quite efficient despite it being busy at lunchtime. Tables outside could've done with wiping, but nice to sit in the sun & watch the world go by
R. T.
Nice to be back eating inside and pub run very well with staff doint table service as well as the ever trusty app. Only disappointment was food came out warm but not overly hot. Was a time plates would always be hot to help keep food warm.
J. M.
Rooms are very clean spacious. Fresh towels every day.Tea & Coffee facilities nice biscuits, hairdryer in the room. The reason it's only a 3 & not a 5 is due to the pub side & lack of staff using that as a an excuse. So many drinks out of stock .No Bailey's.No orange Cordial. No Fruit Ciders.Drinks left on Bar for ages. Not done as requested. Had to find staff to serve you in the first place. Keep asking for you to use the app which WiFi was not working so could not use. Could not order food outside had to go inside. Breakfast ok but cold had to ask for extras that were missing & cutlery. Main meals so much out of stock .Steak not cooked how asked .Some of the staff are friendly though.Would recommend the hotel but not the pub .
R. W.
Rooms were nice to be honest. Mostly clean dust on door panels was quite bad. But the rest of the was clean. A good base for Worcester Town centre and a good price. Breakfast wasn't included but had it downstairs. Decent and good price. All in all pretty good.
A. M.
Very large Witherspoon's. Had Sunday small breakfast - bacon not as tasty as I remember it and a bit burned at the edges. The table didn't seem very well cleaned from the night before - rather sticky. Otherwise pleasant and at that time quiet.
m. g.
Well organised since the pandemic hit, however they must also accept that not everybody is tech savvy, nor do people wish to use apps to order food and drinks. I say this because I couldn't have a certain item with my food order, and on the app there was no way to remove it, so had to wait a bit longer to find someone to take my food order. Its interesting to to note that they still allow customers to use the self service tea and coffee machines as well, whereas other chain restaurants prefer you not to do so. The food was still quick to arrive, and of good quality.
m. g.
Popped in for a quick bite everything was yummy. A classic pib...
D. F.
Comfortable hotel, discounted parking available close by, not to busy on my visit.
P. B.
Absolutely delicious curry this evening. Wonderful staff, can't fault the service 😁
k. C.
Stayed the night in the hotel. And ate at the bar. Both fantastic!! The hotel was protected best cost for the room possible! Great time! Will definitely go again!
D. B.
Always a good ale in spoons. They have a good turn around so doesn't go off like in a lot of other pubs
A. F.
Cheap drinks, good vibes
R. C.
Nice room as you would expect from Witherspoon's, comfortable Sealy bed, walk in rain shower, air conditioning. Great place, no complaints and what other hotel offers a pint for £2.50. Can't beat it.
O. A.
Great service from a young lad with ginger hair and beard defo easy 5 stars
J. T.
This is the second time we've stayed at The Crown and I have to say it didn't disappoint. Great room, the same one twice now, great shower and very spacious. Always lovely and clean.
Vicky and the team are just fantastic. Always on hand to help in anyway they can. Thanks to you all for making our stay so great.
The food was excellent, you get exactly what you pay for and its always well presented. Thanks to the Chef and team.
We're in very challenging times but it was so nice to get away. We both love Worcester and will definitely return in the future.
T. G.
You can't order online at the back of the pub coz you can't get any sort of Internet connection, not even WiFi, so you have to sit at the front of the bar or order at the bar and return to the back of the put. On the plus side, staff are friendly and service by them was good.
M.
Standard Wetherspoon's spacious plenty of seating
B. G.
Quality getting abit more expensive but got kicked out once by man bun donny!
J. H.
Good wethers in the heart of Worcester, good helpful staff in the hotel
S. G.
Nice building, nice room. Unfortunately what let it down was lack of selection of food/drink (other Wetherspoons in Worcester has plenty more), no fault of their's continuous road works all night so I didn't get much sleep. Being nice to know in advance to expect noise to bring ear plugs
G. C.
Typical Wetherspoons Pub , rooms good value and comfortable
L. D.
Came from Cardiff for the day to see my family members, and we dripped in here to have a bite to eat and a cold wet pint before heading back. The food was poor, I don't expect gordon ramsay standards, but not cold food, which makes me think how long was it left before being placed on my table. Also turned out my meal was the wrong one I asked for and I was eating the young woman's burger from across the table from me.. funny enough she also complained about it not being her order... funny enough... and it was also cold. Won't be racing back here anytime soon.
S. A.
The go-to pub for pre-drinks on a night out. Friendly staff, comfortable seating and affordable prices! Order times can be quite long however, even for just a basic drink being ordered to a table.
K. G.
Our table was very dirty and I had to clean it myself , drinks was all good but the staff seem rude
B. A.
Good wetherspoons standard food good atmosphere
S. J.
It was okay, general spoons outing. However, very disappointed that there was no pitchers for sale I know it was a Wednesday but cmon what spoons don't have pitchers that's the whole point of going isn't it?
D. T.
I have never met a waiter so professional as my man TY I think hes name was
M.
Great pub, serving a very nice breakfast.
S.
Absolutely love this place. Food is consistently good both breakfast and lunch menu. It's also incredibly cheap and very generous in portion sizes. Having tried almost every item on the menu, can't think of one I disliked.
H. A.
Love this place. I've been many times before!
D. N. (.
Brought back memories of it being just normal crown bar (not weatherspoons side). Nice meal and drink
M. N.
It'd ok for a drink hit miss with the food.
B. A.
Nice clean pub (but some tables were not cleared very quickly after customers had left).
Staff friendly. Food and drinks good.
S. J.
Proper pub, polite staff , serves lovely well priced food .
S. B.
Not your typical Wetherspoons, really nice pub, serving a great breakfast
i. g.
Nice little pub prices increased though :(
G. F.
The Crown is set in a very old fashioned massive building, there is plenty of seating both outside and inside. We were seated both downstairs in the bowels of the building soaking in the history and more recently in the main part of the building.Using an app.the service was, very prompt. The meals were filling and very reasonably priced. The drinks were quickly delivered and the staff were very polite and welcoming. We will be returning back again.Thank you for a fantastic experience.
n. l.
Great place very friendly staff great food
R. M.
Got off the train and straight into the crown for breakfast before a full days shopping round the Christmas market. The app was easy to use and the service was very good .We will always visit a Wetherspoons when we go out for the day.
j. d.
Very nice Wetherspoons bar.
K. F.
Decent place to eat! As we all know, Spoons is cheap and cheerful. I have been to this particular place atleast 5 times over the past 9 months. Been good every time. Good array of food, including vegetarian options and of course, a fair price. Sometimes the food isn't as hot as I'd like it to be though.
C. M.
Spoons meet a need, decent beer, I prefer the Hardy's Chardonnay, 3 dishes for £10 something is good value, had Marguerita pizza, loaded cheese, nice... Staff underrated, they are the DBs... always on top of their game.
S. r.
Good spoons in the centre of Worcester, clean and tidy and good staff.
G. T.
As always a good place to eat and drink
S. F.
Good service and friendly staff. Not overly impressed with the meal I chose though, unfortunately 😒
R. C.
Good pub grub at a fair price
Nice service
J. S.
Found the room 203 very large and roomy .unfortunately it was a bit dusty on the headboard and top of wardrobe . The actual pub itself was disappointing the tables we sat at we're very sticky and hadn't been cleaned out entire stay. Needs improvement. My husband had a mixed grill on the evening the steak was like cardboard .I had a curry the naan was hard and the rice claggy . Overall a 5 out of 10 room for improvement . A shame cause it's in a beautiful part of the country
J. T.
Dirty tables dishes left on tables not cleared off
R. W.
Great place for meals and drinks, when the full menu is available.
Alternatively this hotel is a great stay, great location, great sized rooms, it was lovely.
Will be returning for future breaks.
J. A.
Great pub, good selection of beer. Polite friendly staff always happy to help. Great food at great price, nothing special but definitely value and quality for money. Regular haunt. Can be noisy at times, bigger than you think.
P. P.
Nice and chill , high ceiling and full of sunlight
D. t.
Its pot luck if you get a hot breakfast or warmish to cool. Toast is never done properly. White dry bread usually. Check cutlery is clean. Put an Espresso in with you latte or flat white so it tastes like coffee and not all milk. Some morning okay some morning not so good, depends what chef is on.
A smile and good morning would be nice. it's being so happy what keeps me going.
J. D.
This is a Wetherspoons pub so has all the usual menus as all of them have. The pub was spotless and the food nice. We actually stayed in the hotel above the pub. It was spotlessly clean and comfy. Although there was a bit of chasing about to check in because the office isn't in either the pub or hotel but across a courtyard type of set up. There is a lift to the floors but there's an additional floor that's stairs only.
K. P.
Me and my husband stayed here for 2 nights for our Anniversary, the room was spacious with everything we could need, even had hand wash and a lovely smelling shower cream in the bathroom. We was on the second floor on the bar side and we couldn't hear any of the noise from the pub. Air conditioning in the room was a plus so the room wasn't too hot.
Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We had breakfast and evening meal here both nights and couldn't fault the taste or price, drinks were also very reasonab price. No parking but we parked on crown gate, £12 for 2 days with a letter from hotel to give to parking management.
All in all a lovely break at a reasonable price hotel, we would love to come again.
T. S.
It's a huge pub, but not enough staff, been now loads of times and it seems like it's getting worse. Always a massive queue to be served, bar staff seem to want to serve the locals soaks before anybody else. My husband asked why they are getting served first he was told it was politics, by the manager. This is appalling, bar staff should be able to serve the next customer who is next in the queue, who ever they are. Will not be rushing back there in a hurry.
D. S.
The pub itself is pretty much what you would expect for a weatherspoons, but I didnt realise how big the pub was until I tried to find an empty table on a busy night.
Stayed in the hotel above the pub, which was a nice experience, if a little confusing.
The layout takes some getting used to, as one of the rooms, which happened to be the one I was staying in, is hidden away through an number of twisting corridors.
But the room itself was lovely, very spacious, even despite having a low, arched ceiling, making good use of the rooms shape to make sure everything needed was provided.
My only issue was the noise. I dont know if it was the age of the building, or due to being connected to the pub, but noise was the only issue, as throughout the night, even after the pub closed, you could hear the sound of a generator.
R. B.
Good place for a drink in centre of town

A nice spacious room, with a lovely bathroom that had a walk in shower. The room was air conditioned, which was wonderful as it was pretty warm whilst we were there. We would definitely stay here again if we go back to Worcester. The only downside was the parking which was a car park a few minutes walk away from the hotel. We drove round the one way system 3 times before calling and getting a different postcode, but we then couldn't find the entrance and ended up parking somewhere else, which was pretty expensive.
J. S.
Usual standard wetherspoons, cheap and cheerful.
S. C.
The hotel was great, that gets 5 stars, the pub only 1 so I've gone for 3. Mostly because staff were serving people who were visibly drunk, including one woman who was screaming down her phone at someone, very inebriated and abusive. The staff ignored this and then served her more lager. The place was also filthy despite not being that busy. Also my food was horrible.
A. B.
Very cheap and large capacity bar with lots of fine wines and a wide range of international beer selection. There is also a moderate size dance floor for those weekend nights. Although it is quite roomy, mostly crowded at lunch time and during the evening hours.
V. M.
Nice clean rooms. Loved the biscuits! Great location. The car park isn't at the building but 4- 5minutes walk in a nearby shopping centre multi story. £6 per 24hours when validated by the hotel. Pub and staff were friendly and the breakfast large.. All in all the the location is prime.
J.
Loved the hotel couldn't fault it room 301. however at the weekend the pub is taken over by students and some older people may not enjoy the experience.
K. Y.
It's a spoons, but it's quite big and has a nice outside area. The queues are not long and the food was good. There isn't much to say about a spoons, but as any other spoons visit, I enjoyed myself and didn't break the bank doing it.
D. F.
Gets very busy on weekends as most pubs do, but there is tovery much space to sit and drink when it is. Food there is mediocre and I am a vegetarian and found a bit of chicken under my tomato and cheese panini. I did get a free drink and I expressed my disappointment. But it has put me off eating there again.
D. F.
2021 Waited a while to be served due to covid but it was extremely busy food fabulous and happy with the service........
2022 A year has gone and still fabulous worth giving 5 stars again ,would take photos but our plates are empty 😅
T. C.
Not bad at all. Baked potatos were good and hot. Good service and good value for money
j. l.
When we first entered it was extremely noisy but we made our way down stairs. The atmosphere was completely different, comfortable seating and a relaxed feel. The food was pleasant but the portions were on the small side. The staff were polite and friendly.
D. L.
It was ok. Dived in for a quick breakfast. It was both burnt and cold at the same time! Can't complain at the price, we'll call it an off day.
L. W.
Stayed here and it was brilliant - family room was spacious and very comfortable, only downside was that the windows didn't open very wide but if they did we might have had a visit from the many very noisy seagulls! Pub itself was great couldn't fault the food and the staff were great - especially the very helpful male hotel receptionist. Would recommend a stay here.
L. A.
Food was good.very pleasant staff.great cups of coffee..
S. R.
Visited during what I imagine would be one of their busiest breakfast sessions on the Saturday of the Christmas market.
Finding a table wasn't easy but service was swift and friendly. Staff were working hard to keep place nice and tidy. Food was good, coffee is now self service from a machine and tasted ok. If you struggle with automated coffee machines have a beer instead.
C. x. G.
It's 'Spoons what do you expect? Cheap drinks with an even cheaper crowd. Come here to get drunk quickly before heading to a nicer place to enjoy your night.
D. C.
Very clean great menu at very reasonable prices you get deals with food and drink
T. G. N.
Not one of the better Wetherspoons, long waits at the bar , foods okay but usually an uninspired ale selection .
Don't sit near the rear door in the wintertime as many people going out don't shut it properly ( or at all ! ) .
Plenty of seating especially when upstairs is open , which also has a small bar too .
Have not stayed in the hotel so can't comment on it .
Wetherspoons free WI-FI & seating out the front & some at the back with a smoking & vaping area .
No carpark but very centrally situated .
L. D.
Apparently a rather cool place to be on a Sunday evening. Not that we cared, good food at great prices was our 'raison d'etre'
A. G.
Absolutely fantastic hotel right in the centre of Worcester.
Loved the musical theme in the room which were modern and clean.
All the wetherspoons staff treated us like royalty once they knew we were hotel guests.
Definitely be looking for another wetherspoons hotel break.
Z. H.
Food was fast and good quality, and all the staff were friendly 😊 I had the large mixed grill and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pub was nice and tidy as well and I didn't have to wait long to be served.
R. H.
Amazing, friendly and excellent manager and staff 😊👍
R. G.
Good food. Nice and clean. Had to wait a while for food compared to usual. Noisy youths upstairs so had to move. Told by bar staff that it happens often.
I. G.
Cheap food, cheap beer, what more could you want. The food is always really nice and the staff are always banterful. The decor of the place could use renovating but I really enjoy coming here. The outside area in reindeer court is lovely and is very nice to sit and relax with your mates.
C. E.
Always great food, value for money
c. j.
Covid rules are well observed, but some of the staff don’t wear face coverings when serving.
The disabled toilet is a joke, abled customers use it all of the time. Stop it, if it means locking it and disabled persons can ask for a key.
J. B.
It's a weatherspoon's cheap beer and food, plenty of seating lovely building. Only gripe is the waiting time to be served slow and unenthusiastic a smile costs nothing, frustrating to wait for a long time when not busy and 4/5 staff on bar not doing anything but trying to make out they are!!!
S. B.
Nice pleasant pub good polite bar staff xx
J. D.
Visited for lunch in a group of 4. We ordered using the app. Thoigh it was busy the meals arrived in about 20 minutes. Food was lovely and hot. Waiter came around to check everything was ok. Excellent value for money.
B. M.
Massive thank you to the staff for accommodating my Vegan diet when I ordered breakfast today. They even came to tell me they used Heinz beans and therefore would take those off and add extra mushrooms. Wish other places would be so considerate and understanding. Thanks .
J. W.
The steak was so juicy and tender, lovely food
A. F.
Excellent rooms, very comfortable..
Facilities all good and spotless..
Fine breakfast and very helpful attentive staff..
D. H.
Quick bite to eat lunch time.
G. S.
Nice pub/hotel pity about the poor luke warm breakfast with over cooked eggs
A. M.
Your every day wetherspoons. Cheap food. It's as you'd expect. Cheep and cheerful. No issues with anything else. Toilets. As always Upstairs hah
C. F.
I enjoy my steak on a Tuesday and that and a pint for just £8.10 you can't really go wrong. The Crown is an interesting venue, lots of rooms and alcoves, staff were pleasant. Very good.
G. N.
Great coffee deal.
T. H.
This is one of the best Witherspoon's I have been in. It has a down stairs family room, a bar upstairs to watch the football and plenty of room in the normal bar. It is located in the middle of Worcester by the shopping center. The food and service we received was great.
I would recommend this pub.
N. R.
Really good brand of wetherspoons pubs. I love coming here! There's lots of seating options including outside, the menu is extensive and really good value for money for both food and drink. Food comes out really quick, even for a wetherspoons and is always impeccable quality. Really impressed, always come back here.
G.
Very cheap but high quality drinks. If you're looking for a nice predrink before you move on in your night out, this is the place. Or if you're looking for a new place to call your local, this or the postal order is the place to go.
The atmosphere is brilliant.
P. B.
Cheap rooms right in the middle of the city, we had two rooms one on the second floor which was great and very quiet. However one on the third floor had very low ceilings and an early wake up call from the seagulls. Nothing the hotel could do about it bar taking out the seagulls. Cheap food and drinks downstairs all in all its actually very nice.
S. F.
Good meeting place. Staff are friendly and helpful.
R. S.
I give it three stars for our overnight stay despite the smell in the room from the bathroom that always smelt as if some one had just used the Toilet. We both had steak and my husband sent his back it was like leather, 4 other customers who just got up and left and on the way out the one lady customer said to me yes ours was trash as well. they had 4 steaks. Some customers swearing at breakfast time and staff just walked past and said nothing. it would not have been so bad if they were talking quite but we were at the opposite end of bar and could here every word. Its a shame Staff in reception were brilliant as for the rest they just seemed to be students who did not give a toss and did not want to be there. I would use Travel lodge or Premier Inn next time as I visit Worcester a lot and my Last Stay in the Crown inn was not much better.
D. H.
The food was good, but the service behind the bar was atrocious. Sorry to say.
H. L. T.
Cheerful and amazingly cheap drinks.
A. S.
A typical wetherspoons pub with ok food and beer at reasonable prices, friendly staff and a great atmosphere.
H. J.
One of the best pub meals I've had in years
Food was excellently cooked, hot, generous portion; and didn't take long to arrive, even though it was very busy.
And all this with a pint of lager for 7.25; can't go wrong
A. M.
Went on 4th February and waited a while for drinks order to be taken we also placed out meal order at the same time. We waited again a while for our drinks to be bought over and the good wait was about 45 minutes and they wernt that busy really as most people had finished and home by the time we got our meal. It was a simple meal 2 roast dinners which are popular on a Sunday. When they did arive the veg and mash we're cold. Went last night as it's local to us at the momment and couldn't fault the service or the meals.
p. h.
Typically spoons, nice and clean restroom clean. Decor above average for spoons. Staff polite and friendly
J. S.
Fantastic a accomodation with rooms very clean and tidy and very attentive staff. Bar is ok, with a rather limited range of drinks for a spoons. Tables are also not cleaned enough. Food was good and served fast though
A. N.
Nice pub, good service, I intend to have breakfast here tomorrow, well worth the visit.
c. p.
How can you not love a place where you get to see someone doing an 'eyeball paul' in real life. Classy establishment
C. W.
Lovely room and easy friendly check in.
Very spacious room, lovely shower and great price. Worcester fab too! Will definitely book a Wetherspoons hotel again-better than an Premier Inn.
D. H.
Really good pub, food is cheap. Service is sometimes a little slow but still faster than any other restaurant. Other than that, just a basic high quality whetherspoons!
b.
Stayed the night in the hotel. Lovely big, clean rooms.
I remember what this place looked like 15 years ago, I couldn't believe my eyes. What a difference! Well done wetherspoons.
We downloaded the app for ordering meals and drinks straight to the table as the bar was busy. Worked great.
Friendly bar and hotel staff. Validated ticket for parking in the crown gate shopping centre carpark for 24 hours.
Our only problem was with the evening meal.
Not very well prepared. We were dissapointed, so much so that we had breakfast elsewhere.
We got excellent value for money on our visit. So 5 stars.
J. B.
Nicer than the average Wetherspons, also has an area with a log fire. Under roof seating area outside too. Only dropped it by one star because of the area (not their fault) but would be lovely if this pub could be in a lovely area with outdoor seating for the warmer weather. 😄
S. H.
Excellent stay in a very clean well presented room which was large well maintained. Great selection of inroom refreshments. Staff were friendly and helpful, we would definitely return and recommend.
J. J.
Okay place to have a quick meal
S. J.
We only popped in for a quick drink, but we found we both commented on the lovely interior of the place. A very popular Wetherspoons it seems. The two coffee machines were forever being used too, with the advantage of free refills, the queue for them was constant !! A pleasant and popular Wetherspoons.
D. H.
It's alright, however the WiFi is rubbish. Only available in the front end of the pub. They need to improve on this.
j. m.
A few enthusiastic hobbyists knocking back the cheap stuff at 9am, but fairly reasonable food although portion size and temperature can vary considerably. Wouldn't fancy eating there mid afternoon though.
R. H.
Slow service and the Wi-fi was patchy making ordering via the Wetherspoon app difficult. Too crowded to be COVID safe. Food was cold and the refire was also cold - disappointing visit.
M. B.
It's a wetherspoons .. I had the large mixed grill. Pork was a little fatty. Pork is the name of the big lad sat behind me ... .. it's okay if I had to be constructive the staff weren't the most cheerful but they were clearly busy ... interesting design over many floors and half landings ...
M. B.
It was ok. We were ordering through the app, and it was served very slowly. It didn't seem to me that the pub was very busy.
L. L.
Had a two day stay here. Room was lovely and clean. All staff we encountered were very friendly. Food was served quickly and was very good. All shops were close at hand. Would highly recommend this hotel
S. P.
We were put up for the night in the utility / disability room, not fine as we are NOT disabled 🙁
Tried to get moved to a normal room, manager told us there wasn't another room, and that our room was FINE (his favourite adjective, he said it 21 times)
The pub was filthy, rough people, uncleared tables, the beer lousy, we headed off......
T. K.
We travelled from Lancaster due to training for my work. The first night we stayed in a pricey boutique hotel in Pershore - mistake! On a whim we decided to travel in to Worcester, just to have a proper nights sleep. We booked in to The Crown and were blown away! I could not believe that it was a Wetherspoons! And at quite literally the fraction of the price of the other hotel our room was nothing short of luxury. The room and en suite were immacualte, the bed was superbly comfy and luxurious. The decor was modern and immaculate and touched up with nice furnishings which were also immaculate, modern and very clean. The staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We have decided to book here again and discover Worcester properly. Also the staff in the bar with very helpful and friendly and were very busy cleaning, and ensuring the premises were maintaining a high standard - which it showed. I have nothing but high praise to the staff and the management ! Thank you !
a. j.
The food was lovely and came really quick. Only issues were the sauces and salts on all the tables were empty and when the staff brought the food he made us feel quite judged for ordering a slightly larger amount of food for two people
A. T.
I have eaten here numerous times and every single time the food is delicious and affordable. The staff are friendly and helpful.
D. C.
Not bad and beer was good and cheap. But staff were a bit slow and seemed to not be bothered in serving customers. Also tables took ages to be cleared
D. H.
The person serving and taking orders for meals behind the bar also has to serve the meals - not the most ideal of situations, especially for a Sunday lunchtime. The meal was fine when it eventually turned up...
r. w.
Warm welcome, comfy quiet room, air conditioning, very clean, lovely staff nothing too much trouble 🙂
K. R.
A really nice place, doesn't look much from outside but it goes on and back inside with a nice bar area upstairs and a pleasant terrace outside. Very quiet on the Monday evening when we visited so service was prompt and food and drinks as standard. Enjoyed coming here on our visit to Worcester.
J. S.
Well run place, good value considering all of the other price increases we are having to put up with.
D. B.
I really like this place it has a nice atmosphere and the typical "know what you're going to get" Weatherspoons menu. Nice to relax and have breakfast here before I start my busy day also buzzing atmosphere in the evening
J. A.
Typical cheap and cheerful Wetherspoons, you know exactly what you're getting when you visit. Very convenient location in the city centre and open from dawn till dusk. Table service by using the Wetherspoons app is fantastic.
Watch out for the gulls if you're eating outside, they're lethal!
K. J.
Very busy, waiting 20 mins for drinks even tho they are ready at the bar. You can't go and get it because of covid but you have to go to the car to pay by card, don't make sense.
R. M.
Used wetherspoon all over UK, this one slightly disappointing regards to breakfast, first told no eggs offered extra item but not black pudding as this was extra, no mushrooms on large breakfast and was served cold had to send back but not much better on return ,breakfast was ordered 9-30 why no eggs ?
D. C.
I live opposite this, good location, it's a Spoons so nice and cheap too.
M. B.
Nice relaxing pub enjoyed it
P. R.
Lovely meal great value, will definitely eat there again
M. L.
Friendly and attentive service and great value for money. I would love to visit again the next time I am in Worcester.
A. B.
Decent food, decent drinks, decent prices, umpteen slot machines as usual, toilets upstairs as usual, but a good place to eat and drink.
J. M.
Not bad could be alot better. Order good together but two meals didn't turn up same time as other customer finished there meal before others came out
J. M.
A wonderful 2 night stay at The Crown in one of their Feature Rooms. Perfect location in centre of lovely Worcester. Couldn't have picked a better location for city center, Cathedral and River Severn. Lovely quiet room with the bonus of the Wetherspoons bar / restaurant onsite. Just be aware no lift to rooms.
T. J.
This has been the fifth year staying at the crown. We usually stay in the attic room but due to air con problems we were given another room. It was lovely. Out of the way of other rooms and was so quite. It is a dark room with 2 small windows but that didn't make much difference to us. The lady at reception is very nice and more than happy to assist no doubt anyone who needed help.
All being well we shall return again and I'm hoping we now have this room in the future. What number? 201
L. S.
As with many Weatherspoons this is a nice old building, spacious and comfortable. We had Friday fish night deal - really nice fish with chips and peas and a drink for under £7 = amazing value.
D. H.
Fantastic food, the steak and ale pie was immense, really competitive prices for drinks too!
A. H.
This is a wetherspoons pub and hotel. It is absolutely enormous, so caters for huge numbers. Everything is clean, friendly, well ordered and a great range of cheap beers and food typical of 'spoons. The Crown is in the centre of old town Worcester city.
J. T.
Sat outside, very friendly and our food was lovely and didn't have to wait long.
J. A.
Always busy when we go. But it's always Saturday early evening. Nice friendly staff. Food is the normal weatherspoons food. Decent food at a good price.
N. Y.
Very pleasant place for a coffee or two. Staff members are doing a great job and welcoming.
M.
Nice place. Has an enclosed beer garden which is accessible from the street close to the bus station.
H. S.
The service is usually quick and bartenders are polite. Gets very busy on Saturdays, almost to the point where you contemplate whether to even attempt getting a drink.
L. I.
Nice cheap place for s pint and nice friendly locals that are always chatty and nice.
l. f.
Awesome in my opinion great place good great beer tottaly recommend.
P. W.
Not so well organised as some wetherspoons I have been to items missing from breakfast. Although it was sorted other people were having similar problems and returned meals only to get them back cold then having to return them again.
A. H.
This is a Wetherspoons set in a lovely black and white old building spoilt by Wetherspoons who seem to be the only people able to buy these historic buildings.Good cheap food and beers, wine can be expensive depending on size of glass. A plus is of course that all Wetherspoons serve food until 11pm. So needed in this country as come 9pm it can be difficult to get food in a pub. The tables are quite dirty and sticky and the whole place needs cleaning and polishing. Actually it needs a bit of an upgrade.Do not know what the hotel rooms upstairs are like.Cant see many of the old beams so must be hidden.Years ago this was an historic building and was a trendy wine bar/pub with people spilling out into the cobbles of Crown Passage.
M. B.
Nice pub usually busy. Fair price for food
D. H.
Local wetherspoons pub with good selection of real ales and reasonably priced food. Great for family meals during the day and a few drinks in the evening. Hotel attatched top rated on tripadvisor for Worcester.
K. L.
Good sized pub right in the city centre. Great prices as always. A hotel attached to the pub too.
G. B.
Very nice pub for an afternoon pint. Friendly and quick service by the excellent members of staff.
s. b.
Large wetherspoons in Worcester, always busy. Staff work hard. Phone signal and wifi hit and miss (more miss). There's an upstairs which is nice and roomy. ... lovely old fashioned high ceilings.
S. R.
The same as any other spoons really . Busy , good prices , friendly staff and quick service
M. A.
It's a Spoons .. but better than the average spoons . Quick service so hot food
E. P.
Love it. Cheap drinks good atmosphere always busy so make sure to grab a seat when you find one on a night time but also a great place to grab a quick bite or have a nice meal.
D. R.
Very nice pub. Good service, and beer selection. All current safety systems in place. Well worth a visit. 👍
L. T.
Food & drink cheap & cheerful but could do with a deep clean. Dust & cobwebs all too visible. Table service not too bad.
Y. C.
Always excellent value!
M. G.
Great service good food
S. B.
Great prices of food and drinks, lovely and helpful staff
D. H.
One of two city centre Weatherspoons in Worcester, a large pub with the usual wide range of beers and reasonably priced food. Clean and tidy pleasant staff and serves meals till late (23.00).
L.
My girls and I love going here. Good to relax and meals aren't too expensive
l. s.
Stayed in the hotel
Lovely room
Covid precautions all in place
Power Shower
Most impressed for £49 a night
K. M.
Good easy check in, a mix up over our booking, but was upgraded.
Room really good and clean.
Would recommend for a stay in Worcester.
J. B.
Poor WiFi. Restaurant staff should spend more time with customers and less time chatting amongst selves. Eventually got my own menu and wasn't advised of specials
D. C.
Stayed here for a week. Excellent location. Lovely large room and bathroom. Very well decorated and clean. Excellent service from all hotel staff.
H. J.
Great value for food and drinks, easy ordering system and well set up for Covid-19. Friendly staff.
A. L.
Very nice great value!
R. M.
Really nice pud, j d witherspoon, good friendly service, great prices, on drinks, highly recommended
A. D.
Far too busy for my tastes but a good pub nevertheless
P. D.
An excellent hotel above a typical Wetherspoon's experience. What's not to like?
E. R.
Food and service were very good highly recommend this place.
H. H.
Good breakfast always a pleasant experience here, the staff are really friendly and helpful
C. M.
Loses a star for being a brexiteering Wetherspoons and also loses a star for the tiny smoking area.
Apart from that it's everything you'd expect from a 'spoons.
If you can stomach lowering your remoaner principles for the lure of cheap alcohol then it's still a value for money start to a night.
R. B.
Nice pub.
R.
Nice place, very busy but plenty of staff behind the bar. Nice beer choice, didn’t try the food but looked good.
E. W.
Not bad, convenient place right in the centre of town, so you don't have the walk like the postal order, looks nice and clean, I would say the cleanest I've been in,
S. J. B.
Great wetherspoons..food was great...we had a problem with over charging with drinks included with meals but we were refunded immediately with no problem. Great location if walking but nearest car parking is not close and multi-storey parking prices apply.
J. H.
fabulous loved it only thing didn't ask was do they do gluten free products .but staff excellent first time I had been .daughter goes a lot loves it .
C. C.
Very quaint spoons, very cosy vibes but wifi isn't great, especially for ordering off app
G. T.
Very busy but still got served in good time ,freindly staff.
M. T.
Friendly atmosphere rooms clean staff very pleasant it's all good nice town lovely always recommend stopping at a Witherspoon's hotel/pubs
J. W.
Clean friendly good food very reasonably priced love it
S. H.
Food was ok but table had the plates and cutlery from other diners so table was sticky and we had to move plates on other tables so did everyone else around us didn't wait long for meal and was hot so couldn't fault that very busy
M. W.
Quick & efficient with the food & drink when ordering from App. Shame about the lack of guest ales.
A. C.
Sticky tables, food ok
p. g.
Stayed here good rooms .
T. B.
Good fish and chips and a pint at very reasonable price offer.
N. M.
Fab customer service good kids menu and colouring to keep little ones occupied. Bar staff very helpful. Food was fab for a competitive price
R. P.
Nice food, staff very welcoming and friendly, good atmosphere would call again and recommend.
J. M.
Large period pub. Busy & noisy but found a quiet room for eating which was pleasant. Food and service good would go again.
K. R.
Food was ok but cheap. Took long time to get food.
K. S.
Food can be okay, had times though when had to send food back 3 times. Building itself is very nice but lacks decent WiFi in areas which have no phone signal
D. D.
Lovely pub but wifi not great when ordering off the app
B. R.
Went early evening, ordered a meal which arrived within ten minutes, friendly waiter who tidied up after we had finished. Sorted.
H. W.
Typical Wetherspoons but inhabiting one of the oldest coaching inns in Worcester so with a bit of historical interest. Also a hotel where the rooms are nicely decorated while maintaining the historical ambience of low beams.
C. B.
Lovely large Witherspoon's pub with friendly attentive staff.
a. f.
They do offers on ales and lagers but was not advised. Had a Guinness which was awful. My friend complained about an alarm and was poured another hence the extra star from dislike to ok. Food looked ok
C. H.
As other spoons, really cheap drinks and food. Regular customer here and food never disappoints. Always clean and plently of seating areas.
H. N.
Not a full range on tap. Food luke warm. Also bloody freezing! Lovely staff
A. J.
food was not up to standard looked like it was thrown together and rushed, very loud enviroment, customers arent polite and doesnt respect others peace and quiet
S. W.
Lots of seating and did the job. Staff nice
J. M.
Stayed in the hotel. Good sized rooms, nicely designed and decorated. First time in a Wetherspoon's hotel and would happily try others based on this
H. R.
Cheap drinks, cheap food. Food is not good though. Fine when you're drunk. Staff don't cope well when busy and it sometimes takes an hour to get a drink.
K. P.
This place was great... Good service..Nice room..2nd time I have stayed here.. and I will be back. X
L. H.
Great pub, great service, cheep prices, all round great night out
J. L.
I didn't expect haute cuisine, and of course didn't get it. What I got was pretty good food and a pint for a darned good price. The service was OK too.
D. S.
Typical Wetherspoon's. As you'd expect but this place is mahoosive! Seating also upstairs. Some lovely architecture dating from the 1600's. Lovely staff and quick service too!
d. s.
Food was ok, good value, staff friendly. Resteraunt is dark and in need of major refurbishment to bring it up to a good experience.
A. P.
Lovely staff except the one manageress who always has a face like a slapped cod. I wish they could cook eggs properly. Otherwise excellent
B.
Great low prices, Quick response to orders and average food for amazingly low prices. Great for a cheap meal in a quiet setting so rather pleasant.
M. J.
Food & Staffing levels are up & down! Table staff are friendly, bar staff can be ignorant! Tend to serve the regular drinkers before tourists and diners!
m. N.
Very good, food was brilliant, very quick service.
G. T.
Food was okay, eaten in here a few times. Pretty good value overall. Very busy.
S. J.
Very nice pub
M. W.
Great breakfast pre shopping. Good start to the day.
D. D.
Not a bad place for cheap drinks. However I dont reccomend sitting out the back of an evening as lots of drug deals and fighting can take place I've noticed
F. Q.
It's a beautiful place for dinner to enjoy a pint with friends or family. Warm and tipical decoration. Good meals and good prices. Very recomendable.
B. C.
Lovely building facade, typical JDW inside. Good service, fine food and drink.
B. H.
The food was lovely, the service was prompt and incredibly friendly, couldn't ask for more on a Tuesday night
E. S.
Excellent service, excellent drink ,staff excellent, cant wait to come back
