The new owners have excelled themselves in every way. The inside and outside is now completely renovated which makes it very cosy and comfortable with a relaxed vibe; food is now served every day from 1200-2030 with a roast on Sundays. The food is absolutely great; a pub menu that makes you want to try everything with the right mixture of tradition and modernity, executed perfectly. The triple cooked chips are delicious. By far the best chips in the local area; we had these with our fresh haddock, curry sauce, and mushy peas - all of which was tasty, not greasy and left you very satisfied. 11/10 We also tried the shin of beef pie with mashed potatoes. This too was a triumph. A real pie, not just a dish of brown mess with some cheap pasty on the top. This pie has flavour, was full of tender meat and the pastry wasn't greasy or too rich as can sometimes be the case! 10/10 For a starter we had the gorgonzola croquettes with pickled walnuts. Lovely texture, delightfully salty, sweet, sour and with plenty of umami. 8/10 All in all, I can't wait to go back and try the other dishes on their small but well thought out menu. The prices are reasonable for the quality and the portion size certainly makes food here a good deal. £3.5-7 a starter, £11-15 for a normal main. The aged steaks are more expensive. The service is relaxed and friendly and the wait time for food was not long. Total cost for our meal (1 starter and 2 mains with 2 drinks) £40. We have eaten at so many pubs in central Worcester and none of them come anywhere close to here. Thank you so much for the great food. I'll be back very soon to try the other tempting dishes you have on your menu! If I were to change a couple of things it would be; improve your drinks selection - more interesting local beers and a better selection of wine. Your food is so good it deserves a fitting beverage! :)

Great beer garden next to the canal and adjacent to The Commandery. Choice of Lagers, including Peroni and Estrella. It has Thatchers on draft and old moat cider in bottles. Ales were Wainwright Golden and Hobgoblin Ruby. Friendly staff who work hard. Looks nice and clean inside too. Well worth a visit when in Worcester.

I like the beer in the King's Head - good pint of Wainwright. It's been recently revamped, so hopefully it'll do better in its recent reincarnation. Beer garden overlooks Sidbury lock in the worcester Birmingham canal, and is worth a visit.

Because of the delay regarding the food the manager compensated for it by providing 3 bottles of prosecco as an apology. Old Coaching Inn in historic Sidbury. Friendly and relaxing. Nice place to meet and have a drink with a group of friends. Small, pleasant and quiet outdoor area next to Worcester to Birmingham Canal. Across the narrow canal is the historic Commandery.

Lovely Bar and much bigger than it looks from the outside. A Beautiful little terrace at the back overlooking the canal and lock with a covered courtyard. The girl behind the bar was friendly and attentive and took the time to have a conversation with us.

Reviewed this pub 5 years ago, new ownship made it very different but nice to know it's back to normal. Great dog friendly pub! Brilliant food food that is reasonably priced. Laid back atmosphere; clean and spacious, with friendly staff, added enjoyment of a beer garden overlooking the canal. We have utilised function room on 09/22 for a bday party with a fantastic Buffey that received numberious commilipments!

Nice location with the beer garden by the canal. We went as a group outside for a leaving do and generally were good at enforcing covid restrictions. The table service was quite slow and one of the staff forgot someone’s drink and came back to ask about another round for the table before they remembered. Food was nice overall, posh pub grub but (and I’m assuming it was just as they were trying to cater for a large group) we all agreed the food took a long time to come and then felt like it’d been sat under a heat lamp until everything was ready so was a little dry and a medium heat.

Like many businesses currently suffering from staff shortages but they went out of their way to be courteous and keep us informed. Had a problem with my wife's meal, which was sorted out and deleted from our bill by the manageress without too much quibble. Nice enclosed garden by the canal lock.

Booked a birthday Sunday Roast for my partner and our friends after New management had taken over and the staff went all out! Balloons and a VERY tasty birthday cake for us after our meals in which they played Happy Birthday over the speakers and it was hilarious! We had a great time! Good food and an alright pub, nice heated patio area out back and an alright selection of drinks. Sometimes gets busy but is normally a good fallback option for finding a table for a large group at short notice due to the upstairs part and conservatory area. Staff are friendly too.

Seems to have gone downhill badly under new ownership. All the attractive deals seem to have gone and they always seem to be out of stock of what I want. They've introduced a fairly pointless cocktail bar in the back yard. A once busy pub now seems empty because they have abandoned their core customer base in favour of some strange ideal.

Oh dear kings Head!! We went for a family lunch today, we had the veggie platter, meat platter, fish chips mushy peas and the king burger and fries. The platters were excellent and just enough for two. The fish and chips ok, small amount of mushy peas and fish not a great size fish compared to what you used to serve. The king burger was more like a small princess burger, a very small meal for a growing 16yr old, or anyone really. King implies big!!! If only!! it was £12 which was definitely overpriced for the size. It was tasty tho. We were over charged on the drinks, not by much but still. When i was paying the man asked if the food was alright, I was completely honest as I assumed he would like constructive criticism...oh no not at all, he completely changed his attitude towards me, for the worst, so I popped my generous tip back in my purse. Also I think they forgot our order as others got served well before us. Crap customer care Kings Head, i would never treat a customer of mine in such a manner for being politely honest.

Nice atmosphere, dog friendly, lovely staff, fab freshly prepared food but all unfortunately let down by a ridiculously long wait for our order...over an hour, sadly not the first time this has happened. Each time there's a delay we're told the kitchen is extremely busy. Surely this is to be expected though during the lunch and dinner service? Needs a bit if tweaking but great if you want just a drink or a snack but forgo a main meal unless you've got some time to kill.

This places offers itself as upmarket, and to be fair the food is pretty decent. They do have a tendency to let your pint settle then forget and walk off. I had to chase down the barman once who forgot he started pouring me a drink and vanished to cover front of house.

Lovely pub. Great food and good service. Close by to the historic Commandery and cathedral, The Kings Head is ideally situated for walking to these or a 5 minute walk will take you to the city centre. At the back of the pub is a lovely canalside patio are that is often heated....summer evenings are wonderful. Only thing missing is parking although 2 public car parks are just over the road.
