From my first contact over the phone with Lewis, to our friendly service by Lissy, to our excellent meal cooked by Theo, our 16th anniversary meal could not have been any better. Thank you for making it special.

We had booked a table for my birthday lunch last Saturday and were greeted by the lovely Ali. Beautifully set table and lovely atmosphere. I was struggling with the menu as I had been in hospital the previous weekend. Straight away Ali offered me a gluten free menu and how I could variate between the 2 menus. She was incredibly friendly, helpful and her customer service was second to none. Hats off to the chef too as it was everything we expected and more, also incredible value for money. We had a thoroughly fabulous afternoon. Thank you to Ali, the chef and the rest of the staff. Would highly recommend 👌 👍 👏

Very warm and welcoming pub. Walked in with my partner and immediately felt comfortable, didn't wait long for a table before a member of staff to greet and show us to our table. Food was great and service was excellent. Pub was very clean and tidy.

Well, I maintain my 3 star rating from whenever it was as this is a really good 'chain pub' with a great building, a good (dog friendly) garden and lovely staff. However, I still think a good pub should = good ale so, Greene King Abbot & IPA does not cut it for me. If I could get to the local management ...... I booked a table here (recommended), for a nice meal and drinks with friends and we had a great time. Though the venue was busy, the staff were helpful and welcoming not to mention my food was delicious (Cajun chicken burger). I will be coming back for more

Very disappointed . I have been many times before and it is very good .the service was slow.the food was average and it was cold sitting in the restaurant .the heaters were on outside for the smoking area .but my children declined desert as it was too cold for ice cream in the restaurant and the food selection was very poor as lots of food was not available.on the positive side my wife enjoyed the main and starter.

Had lunch earlier today. My husband had the mixed grill and I had the Sriracha Beyond Burger. Both were very good. However the Sriracha grilled cauliflower and pickled red onion were missing from my dish but what did arrive was great. My husband really enjoyed his meal too. Dessert was excellent. The service was a bit slow and the pub was by no means busy but everyone is struggling with the ramifications of Covid/ staffing/supply issues so you have to make allowances. Friendly service. Pleasant atmosphere and we didn't have anywhere else to be so we just enjoyed it! 😀

Before covid we came here regularly for a Sunday roast. Bit apprehensive coming back after reading reviews. However....the pub was busy but we were welcomed immediately, all staff happy and helpful. We ordered food, told wait was half an hour to 40 mins, food came in 25mins, piping hot and delicious. Serving staff could not be faulted. However our first 2 dishes of choice were unavailable (at 5pm on a Friday!). Our 3rd choice was not great. Under seasoned to say the least. Quite insipid. Our starter listed crudités- we got cucumber! A nice pub with a lovely atmosphere but chefs need to up their game.

Food was good but service was leisurely. Lunch took nearly 3 hours even though it was not massively busy! It's a nice place but seems to be noisy as noise seems to amplify in the restaurant meaning you had to raise your voice to be heard making it even worse. It's fine if you are not in a rush.

Just had a fab lunch here and tried the 3 pots for £10... Cod goujons, Halloumi goujons and Super Chips... Really good and great value for money!!!! Everyone so courteous and helpful. And now got the gardens to ourselves... What more can you ask?!?

It really isnt as good as it used to be. I used to love this place. Went for Sunday lunch. 1.45pm. Two of our party had roasts. Everything was overcooked. Yorkshire's could break your teeth, potatoes were like triple cooked chips as though they'd been deep friend. The veg was mushy. One sent theirs back and didnt want it replaced. I had fish and chips - reasonable to adequate, quite a small piece of fish. We had to ask three times for gravy for the roasts, third time I had to go to the bar and ask. staff were very friendly and apologetic. We had to ask twice for a simple glass of water. Such a shame .

Lovely atmosphere, traditional pub, cosy and welcoming. Love the food which is always of good quality and especially the service. The waitresses are always very engaging and friendly especially Liss. She always makes sure every customer is looked after and talks you through the menu to make sure you get the best food available. Often busy so book to avoid missing out.

We popped in here yesterday (22nd December) for a lunch to celebrate our daughters engagement. What a lovely surprise we had as it was the first time going there and found it was a fantastic place. The building is extremely quaint as it dates back to the 17th century and the décor inside is very pleasing. Its much bigger than we thought too. We were greeted by the manager, upon our arrival, who showed us to our table. The waiting staff were very friendly and attentive. We all chose our meals and they were all fabulous and very tasty and also very reasonable. We will certainly be going back again. 10/10 .

Food was disappointing. Roast Beef was very hacked and thick rather than carved and not cooked very well, looked like a steak that had been hacked and plated. Broccoli was over cooked and mush potatoes fried rather than baked. No horseradish served and when asked a small.pot delivered for 3 of us even though horseradish was on the menu with the roast beef dish. Vegetarian roast was delivered without vegetable gravy and had to request took ages and meal needed to be redelivered the expectation was the cold meal would be accepted. Understand there are staff challenges and were prepared and expected the communicated 1 hour wait. However the quality of food was extremely bad and unacceptable iwe were extremely disappointed.

Very impressed for a pub. Really nice atmosphere. Restaurant is joined on but somewhat separate to pub. The place was nice, clean, not very noisy and had a good atmosphere. Food was really good. Couldn't get over the size of the beef rib. Very tasty. Food came out pretty quickly. I really enjoyed the sea bass and scallops. Full of flavour although would have liked skin a bit more crispy. The waitress was really nice, friendly and accommodating. Meal was well priced and we would go back

Lovely main course but 3 meals out of 5 were not available (Tuesday evening). Very slow service particularly with the puddings which first of all came out without spoons and molten ice cream though it was a very hot day. The inexperienced waitress eventually got our order right. When the bill came there were 2 drinks that we had not ordered so I had to ask for them to be removed. Eventually 2hrs and 15mins later we had paid. Clearly a busy night!

Great pub garden to enjoy the sun and fantastic food. Friendly bar staff and waiters who are polite and ready to help with even the most awkward of requests. A nice village pub atmosphere, without the usual feeling of unwelcome from locals. No eyes clearing at you as you enter wishing you hadn't like you get in your usual village pub! Always have a nice selection of beer and a well stocked selection of bottled beers, fizz and wines. If you're looking for a nice place to go for a family pub lunch in Worthing, this is the best place I know of!

It was lovely to be back at the Bull. Safety is done well. Staff wearing visors which is great. Sadly the food was a little disappointing. The lamb shoulder was a little chewy and the pate was lovely, shame only 2 small pieces of bread to have with the generous portion of pate.

Received vouchers for use here so decided to treat th family to a meal out. What a hidden treasure. Always knew this pub was here, but have never used it for food before. We were seated on time, there was not a long wait between ordering and getting our food. Everything was cooked as asked. Brilliant staff and service. The pub looks clean to me, but for some reason it has a low star rating from Food Standards agency? I would give this 5 stars myself, but it’s lower due to the food prices. Also dog friendly.

Cracking dog friendly pub, we have eaten here on many occasions from mothers day to Christmas dinners. The food is awesome always hot and full of flavour, the drinks are reasonably priced and the service is great, dogs are not allowed in the restaurant but you can eat in the bar area with your pooch, well worth booking in advance as it can get busy but it isn't essential.

We went to the Bull on Burns Night, The food was lovely and the staff extremely friendly and professional, the reason I've only given 3 stars is that the service was so slow and there was only 3 other tables so it wasn't overly busy for them. After our dear neighbour Marjorie's final 'Goodbye' we were invited to come to the Bull for some refreshment. The staff were so welcoming & friendly. I am coeliac but didn't inform anyone prior as at such times there are far more important arrangements to worry about. Where do i start i ordered the burger hog roast for £12 what i got was not worth £12 the burger was over cooked a piece of limp lettuce not sure what else was in the burger all was over cooked and the chips looked like we're the end of the bag ordered more chips and was changed £3 for a small bowl .When you order a £12 meal you should get a £12 meal .Won't be going back .
