We came Wednesday evening for a meal without our children, and had a lovely meal and couple of drinks, nice calm atmosphere, staff worked really hard and was a pleasure to be served by a team who clearly enjoy working with people. Thank you to all the team, although we came down before a long day ahead of us on Thursday, we just needed some time to ourselves and that was respectfully given to us. Best Wishes Mr and Mrs Fox

Took my three grandchildren as one was having her 12th birthday. No waiting to be seated and didn't have to wait for service either. Food was lovely. Good portion sizes for the children's meals, very little was wasted. I would also like to say a very big thank you to Sam, she was so lovely with the children and arranged for the birthday girl to have candles in her pudding and sung happy birthday. So nice to be somewhere where children were made so welcome. I would definitely return 😊

A very favourite meeting place that ticks all the boxes. It is clean and comfortable and safety conscious and the team are amazing and very considerate of your needs and satisfaction. The range of wine and ale is very satisfactory and there is food to suit most tastes. Our servers today..Wendy and Tim were excelkent. They know I am vision Impaired and always remember my needs and favourite familiar area..which is very important...and my food and drink preferences.

I met friends for lunch here today, my first visit since early last year. By 12.30 it was really quite busy and there was a good, lively, atmosphere. The food was tasty and good value and was delivered promptly. Plenty of staff were on hand to provide friendly and attentive table service. Recommended.

My girlfriend and l had a great meal there, even though they had sold out of my first choice of roast. I would forgive that due to the late booking time of our table. I was however slightly disappointed at the behaviour of,what l assume, was the head chef who l saw publicly admonishing the waiting staff for continually asking for mushrooms after he had told them that they had run out of same ! Unprofessional in my opinion but apart from that a great evening and we will visit again. Had another great meal there recently, excellent !

Great meal for 6 of us. Food was lovely, staff friendly and great value for money. So, 4 weeks down the line and we return. To be honest, they were busy, however, after showing us to our table and cleaning it down we waited 15 minutes .....no one came to take any orders, drinks or food so we left. I'm sure the food would have been good but the service was way way short of acceptable.

Had a fantastic meal here tonight. As a party of 6, we have 1 vegetarian, 2 vegan, 1 gluten + lactose intolerant, 1 carnivore and 1 picky 6 year old. The staff couldn't do enough to accommodate us. If you've been to the North Star, you will know that the nacho's to-share are to die for! I can also recommend the buttermilk chicken burger. The menu has a wide variety to choose from. Had deserts here a few times! On point! Can't fault this place at all. Wonderful staff and food!!!!! 5 stars🌟

Would have liked to use the app but the drinks we wanted, Twisted Tonics, were not on the app. Conversely, the Sunday Roasts were not on the paper menu! However, the steaks were very good, as were the chicken starter, calamari, desserts and coffee. Dog friendly. Free WiFi. Plenty of parking. Nice selection of soft drinks

Lovely venue and friendly staff but I would definitely not order the lasagne again. I honestly thought that I’d been served a childs portion and the garlic ciabatta was also lacking in portion size. Having been listed under the section of pub classics, hearty and warming food, I think it should be renamed anemic and microwave hot food 🙄 I thought portion size was in keeping with other portion sizes and in looking around at other customers dishes I could see that this wasn’t the case. Very disappointed and still hungry!

Love the service, staff so friendly! Food is excellent, homemade nachos are amazing (only wish they could be slightly smaller but I don't need to be picky here)! Veggie Sri Lankan curry is to die for! Chicken katsu curry is beautiful, and steak is as good as always! Cocktails are great value too!

After my mum had her second Covid vaccine we decided to stop on the way home at the North Star for lunch. We sat in the garden and felt really Covid secure as the tables were really spaced apart and they had lots of measures in place that made us feel safe. We were greeted by a lovely young lady called Sam who let us choose which table we would like to sit in and made an excellent suggestion as it was quite windy, so we sat in a lovely sheltered part of the garden. Sam was really friendly and we didn’t have to wait long for her to take our order after suggesting a few items that would suit. Our meals turned up really quickly and Sam was there again offering all the condiments we could want. We were checked on regularly to make sure our meals were okay and to see if we needed anything else. I had the chicken and bacon salad which was delicious and my mum opted for scampi and chips which she said were lovely. After being in lockdown for such a long time it was really nice to go out, have lunch and be made to feel really welcome. We will definitely be back.

Just moved to the area and this is one of 3 pubs within 15min walk. The safety considerations seemed good and the staff very friendly. The ale appeared to be well kept.Will be going back.

We've had several meals here and mostly it's fine for a cosy family pub meal. On the last occasion though they had run out of a lot of menu items and we got abandoned by our waitress half way through so I had to go and order more drinks & desserts at the bar. My mashed potato was a crusty reheated lump. Overall it's usually a friendly place with drinks offers, a large menu and a kids menu. They could do with something to help entertain the children, there's no play area or even colouring. The burgers are nice but there are no GF burger buns.

First time I've been here, and will definitely come back. Food was lovely. And the staff were great. Even though it was busy we didn't have to wait long, someone came straight over and got our drink order. The food came out in good time to. We had the Salmon, Roast Pork and the mixed grill .All three dishes were enjoyed! Thank you North star for great meal and afternoon.

Better than previous visits but still not up to scratch. Service was good but the food let's it down. Small portions, burnt steak, toad in the hole that was really a Yorkshire pudding with sausages in it. The scampi and chips was the size off a child's portion. I'm not sure if we'll return.

Terrific choice of food, with something for everyone in our party of four. The food was excellent and the service first class. There is plenty of space between tables, which makes for a nice dining experience not having to speak loudly. The only slight disappointment was the burnt sausages in the mixed Grill that had been presented with the most burnt part at the bottom. Can recommend downloading the Embers Inn app to take advantage of special deals.

Great pub, with a great outside space for this time of year, plenty of seating areas and the staff seem to be on the ball with keeping the area clean and clearer. Although, the pub has no children's equipment, the area does has bushes to explore. Really great menu and good value set menu's. Also enjoy the drinks range here, especially the cocktails. Looking forward to our evening meal this weekend, as long as the sun stays out!!

The pub is a chain / franchise establishment, but this location does have a local personal feel. The wait staff and management are friendly and are very accommodating. However, the beer selection is limited to the corporate offerings and the food is typical of any pub restaurant. So come here for the great service with the understanding that the staff is limited by the rules of the parent company. Establishment has it regulars and the staff knows them by name. But newcomers can quickly fit in. Due to only seeing one TV in the pub, not a popular spot for big TV sporting events. But on days when the weather is nice in Worthing, there are plenty of outside tables.

The only negative is the car park is too small. So many times on Thursday evening, quiz night, I've had to go elsewhere as there has been absolutely no place to park although disabled spaces mostly available.

#LocalGuide went to the North Star with a friend to have a good time, watch a band and catch up with other friends. We turned up and the venue was very busy which you would expect for a good pub on a Saturday night and although busy the bar staff where working as quickly as possible. The food was great and the staff very polite and helpful. The only problem was the leaking in the roof. I Where to the right of the bar at the back and we where getting dripped on in multiple places. I would not have expected that in this location and was sorry to feel let down by it. Other than this the place is great but it could not be ignored once we found the issue. To be honest it made me wonder what else was wrong if there is a leak that looks like its not been dealt with for quite some time.

Good food, friendly service and lovely building, what more do you want? Fixed price menu is a great value menu, more so if you go at lunch time where you can get a 3 course meal for just under £10. I wanted the pork belly but unfortunately due to popularity and the time of the evening there wasn't any left so opted for the rump steak. Asked for medium rare and that's what was delivered. I visited on a Thursday evening and there was also pub quiz occuring in the evening, £1 entry per person and the host was funny and charming. Will definitely have to go back again and hopefully get my pork belly!

A well presented and comfortable typical chain (albeit a smaller chain) pub clearly aimed at the food/family market. The food was perfectly good and not too expensive, the real ale was much better than I had expected, but dispensed using the outdated 'sparkler attachment' resulting in deep head/short measure and the service was extremely good. This is the kind of pub that had its heyday in the eighties (when you could enjoy a mixed grill or sausage and mash whilst a hoard of children swarmed around playing their Ninja turtles games between the tables) and it's interesting to see the model still performing strongly. I was surprised to see how very well patronised it was considering it was lunchtime on a bleak Tuesday.

The food was ok ,we won't be rushing back after writing this review I received a message from the north star stating that if I had any issues I should have said so at the time ,I reserve my right to do as I please as I'm the customer and this is what reviews are for ,any way the steak was burnt ,I did ask for well done ,my meal was the most expensive on the menu at £17.99 ,I had half of a mushroom when my food came ,my partners food ,a chicken and ham ,leak pie had no ham or leak in and was basic at best ,hence my original review

We went here for a rare Friday night out with a friend. Staff were friendly but quite thin on the ground. I ordered a rump steak medium rare, it arrived within good time but looked like it had been on a diet! Therefore the medium rare was more like medium, I didn't think to ask about its density. My hubby & friend both enjoyed their meals. The deserts were tasty too. There's plenty of seating in here too, I had a sneaky look at the kids menu for future reference, there is a good choice for little ones too.

I really like this place and the staff however I was really let down by ordering the soup.... it was out of a can!! £4.49 for a can of soup! I really never mind spending money on food, however it really bothers me to spend money for restaurants to just warm something they haven’t made in the microwave! Visited the The North Star during the Covid 19 pandemic. When we arrived were asked to sign in for Track and Trace and was informed that it would be prudent to download the Ember Inn App. Found the App easy to use and food and drink was ordered and paid for. The drinks arrived promptly and the member of staff was polite. The food arrived not long after, which was fine. However did find that the meals were a mixed bag. The ones in our party that ordered the Wraps thougly enjoyed what was dished up, however the ones that ordered a meal were a bit disappointed with the quality of some elements of the meal.

My only criticism is that I downloaded the app for the restaurant group which promised a free pint but was told I couldn't have one as it wasn't the brand quoted (Doombar)

Food was ok'ish, but the service was awful. We were told to take a seat and they would be over to take a drink order. Sat there for ages, when we eventually caught someone's eye we placed a drink and food order. Food came out quickly, but again it took an age to catch someone's eye to get the plates taken away and order pudding! Again food okay but won't return as service was appalling, staff need a rock placed somewhere.
