Bottomless Brunch: fantastic value for money! The food was brilliant, generous portions and a variety for all of us. Brilliant service, Libby was so friendly and never let our glasses empty. The only thing that could be improved was the consistency of drinks, two of the same drinks could taste completely different. Still great overall.

A "girlie day out" in York with friends celebrating a birthday. We fancied a Bottomless Brunch and came across the Manahatta. It was just after 1pm and the bar wasn't busy. Our waitress was Ellie - knowledgeable about the cocktails etc and very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Our glasses were never empty the whole of the 90 minutes session, and the food was delicious. Well worth a visit.

Bottomless brunch was really good value for money. We stuck with prosecco so can't comment on the cocktails but the prosecco was free flowing and the servers made sure our glasses were always topped up. We visited on a week day and it was quiet but can imagine a weekend being packed in here. Food was good for pub food, would visit again.

What an awesome place. The restaurant is a huge converted church. So much space but the only problem was that it was really noisy! The staff were incredibly attentive (thankyou Emily!). They kept the Prosecco & cocktails flowing! Unfortunately the portions of food were tiny! (The food was NOT bottomless!). So, if you don't have the alcohol then it becomes really poor value for money at £30-£35 depending on your choice of meal. Luckily I was more than capable of drinking my money's worth! X 😛

We visited Manahatta on Monday for bottomless brunch as part of a hen party. The place we had booked originally for bottomless brunch cancelled our booking 1 hour before we were due to arrive, which as you can imagine, was quite stressful as there was 17 of us! We contacted Manahatta and straight away they were super empathetic and supportive, they agreed to facilitate bottomless brunch for all 17 of us with an hours notice, they were super accommodating and if I'm honest, we had a better time there than we would have had at the original place so we were all so pleased they cancelled our booking. The food as part of the bottomless brunch was amazing! We were checked on during our visit to ensure none of us were sitting with an empty glass. Overall, one of the best bottomless brunches I've ever been too! I 100% will be back and I'll also be recommending Manahatta York to anyone else looking for a good place for food, drinks and all around fun vibe!

Bottomless brunch was fab. Apple spritz cocktail was my favourite and took advantage, whoops. I had the pancakes with bacon and fried chicken. Nice size portion. Worth the 30 quid paid. There was a service charge added of a round a fiver, however didn't mind paying it due to the amount of time the waitress went back to the bar for us.

As a member of a hen party I really enjoyed it here. We went on a Saturday afternoon at 3pm for a bottomless brunch and while the food was really good there was a good supply of cocktails also. A really good value for money afternoon and a good atmosphere. I also liked the staff who where all very smiley and happy to help

We went to Manahatta for bottomless brunch on a hen. It was brill, food was brill, drinks were flowing. Highly recommend the bloody Mary’s and the hash. We were served by Michael and Simone who were both gems, we never had an empty glass the entire time, they are both legends.

The food wasn't great, it wasn't cook properly and went cold quickly. The attitude of the supervisor was poor. She needs to work on her greeting people at the door skills. The staff serving our table were lovely and couldn't of been better.

I have been here a few times while out in York, I always find Manahatta quite expensive for what you get really so i dont tend to go in unless there is an offer on. I came here with friends recently for brunch. The brunch was pretty good, we got lots of drinks in the 90 minutes and the staff were really good topping us up, especially if you got the prosecco as there was always staff members walking around with a bottle to top your drinks up. The staff were also really friendly and made the experience more fun. The food was really good but it was a small portion for me, I've been to a lot of brunches and you normally get a little bit more but i can't complain about the food itself as it was really good (I just wish there was more!) Over all for £30 I would defo come back for another brunch!

Came here for bottomless brunch and it was good! Got about 5 drinks for the hour and 30 mins with Prosecco flowing. Food was good but a poached egg and avocado on a muffin came out with bacon on for one of the veggies in the party. We explained it should have been without the bacon and the manager said can it just be taken off rather than make a new one which we couldn’t believe. The way it was handled was rude so not sure if we’d return

A nice city type cocktail bar with city prices that seemed to attract lots of young ladies with it's two for one cocktails. It wasn't for us 50 plus year olds but it was a change, also we discovered there was only one toilet in basement and we were in the upstairs first floor bar at a private function. It was a bit of a treck to the loo, not so good for those in our party with walking disabilitys. The food was hot this, spicy that, I like spice, chilli etc but this was like really overly spicy so not enjoyable food for me. There was a lot of food left over. In summary, I would say it's more for the 20 to 30 year olds, and a nice bar to visit for cocktails.

Great place. Went just as the new menu came out and it did not disappoint! The sharing platter to begin is amazing. I particularly liked the beetroot hummus, which was quite new to me. Everything is reasonably priced, with the cocktails on offer at 2 for £10 every day except Saturday (I would recommend the lemon cheesecake cocktail and the pistachio espresso martini).

It was a very busy day over easter and although we only had our table booked for 1 1/2hours, the food took that ling before it arrived. Wow first time coming here and I was completely blown away. The Scottish bartender (Jack?) went above and beyond with my order. I don't really like cocktails normally (too fruity) but he made me a banging old fashioned. I've been to a few cocktail bars in my time and that ranks in the top 3 I've ever had. Was with the missus for a quick getaway and he managed to write us a list of things to do in York. He pulled an absolute blinder here. Keep up the good work Jack!

Went for brunch as a group meal. The food was mixed (hotdog very good, poached eggs / avocado pretty average) and the initial service got the order all wrong. HOWEVER, the rate at which the drinks came (rapid), and the attention which was paid us after the ordering whoopsie more than made up for the initial errors. At the start it was nice, well served well seated, good starters then slowly went down hill from there. Drinks were not pleasant to drink were mostly garnish. For mains I had a Manhattan chicken and the chips were very nice but the chicken had a odd layer of mush between the batter and chicken that tasted soggy. Then desserts were gorgeous then got interrupted half way through it if my table wanted to pay the bill...while I'm still eating.

Went last night for some food and drinks, drinks took 20 mins to arrive after ordering despite the venue not being that busy. Drinks were made and just left on bar waiting to be ran out for quite some time. Food arrived quickly and was the best part of the visit, the person running the food was polite and delivered great service. If the drinks arrived quicker the experience would have been much more enjoyable.

Had a nice meal here sat outside in the sun, they are doing eat out to help out, so had two meals and drinks for nearly half price. The food which we had was well presented and very nice to eat, the staff are very friendly, we did not book a table but they still accomadated us when they didn't have to, so they go the extra mile. Second visit here. Food was nice but lukewarm first time. This time it was Unfortunately the same. Had to choose cheese and onion pie as they had run out of steak pie. This was served with a little jug of what I’m guessing should have been cheese sauce but it was barely warm floury milk so didn’t touch it. We ate the pie and chips though and semi enjoyed it. Just glad we used meerkat deal as I wouldn’t have been happy paying full for the quality as £13.50 for a main I would expect top notch. Also don’t sit where you can see what goes on in the kitchen if you don’t want it putting you off. Witnessed a cook testing a burger with her finger, rubbing her lips with her fingers and dishing up some chips with her hands! Also cook staff on their phones frequently, not that that bothers me but the fact that phones are bacteria havens does. I’m afraid I won’t eat here again. I do have to say the waiting staff was very good. She was rushed off her feet.

Nicely presented decor and lighting make this a lovely place to eat. Staff were attentive and continuously checked up on us which made up for the slightly delay in food. Food: Expensive for what you get however cooked well. Took a fair amount of time to come out approximately 20 minutes post starters. This establishment accepts "Meerkat 2-4-1" at the time of this review. Drinks: Extremely impressive selection of drinks on the menu with a fair amount included in their 2 for £10 range. Facilities: Modern and well maintained. Very clean in the gents with no broken appliances.

Visited at lunchtime today. The food and drinks were fabulous. We had a Cajun chicken burger, Tagliatelle carbonara and a King prawn and crab risotto. The whole lot was divine. Two soft drinks and we took advantage of the 2-4-1 cocktails (Beneath the Storm) too and the bill was less than £40 for three of us. The place was spotlessly clean and really trendy decor. What a gem of a place and then there’s 40% off on Mondays too!

Always a good atmosphere. Polite and friendly staff and reasonable cocktails if you take advantage of offers such as 2for1. Unusual for York there is lots of space and seating available. It is needed though as it is a popular bar. The food is good, though pricey.

Came to York for a girly weekend and booked bottomless brunch for the Saturday at 12.00 with 2 other friends. The venue was lovely and the staff were really friendly and helpful. It was our first time for bottomless brunch and the lady explained it really well and looked after us while we were there. The waitress Beth really knows how to look after her customers and make sure they are having a fab time. The brunch options for food are lovely and the breakfast hash was amazing. Our first experience of York was brilliant and coming here made our weekend even more special. They make it so relaxed and always come and check if you need your drink topping up. Thanks again to all the staff and especially Beth who lookee after us.

3.5 - sorry to be awkward! Pros - central location. Beautiful old building. Nice staff and delicious food (the things I've tried), recommend their version of onion rings. Cons - beautiful old building is full of steps, no disabled access as far as I could see. Its 4 floors and bathrooms are in the basement, hell of a distance from the top floor and a bit dangerous when drunk. Also, most of the seating is booths (inflexible) and tall tables with barstools so overall it's accessibility is pretty much zero!

Nice atmosphere good selection of drinks. Ordered food - classic burger. Started eating as you do from the outside in and realised half way through burger was actually raw. Free desert offered and plenty of apologies didn't fancy any more food so asked for free drink which they happily supplied. Water was offered for the table which we took then realised they charged us £4 bit naughty really. So there was problems but the staff were happy to try and correct the issues even so not sure I'd be rushing back any time soon.

The Oriental duck was good- a tiny bit dry, and the staff behind the bar is very friendly. Too much alcohol in the drinks. You're probably not supposed to complain about that, but the alcohol overpowered the taste. Good prices. The only real minus is the really loud music. A bit difficult to keep a conversation.

A bar and restaurant right in the heart of York. It has a good selection of beer and cocktails and with its friendly staff is a fun stop in town. It's a barn of a place, with lots of room to stand and chat. The food menu is reasonable, but expect a wait if others order before you. It's not really inspired food, you can do better in town, but if you just want calories to soak up the cocktails it's fine.

Not crowded, tiered seating creates an interesting use of space, in comfort. The top row of booths are quite a step up for older legs! I had Bang Bang chicken salad with a satay sauce and fries; Some delay with the sauce, but to their credit it was due to them cross checking ingredients due to my milk allergy. Very tasty dish. Very good rib eye steak. Helpful cheerful staff. Thank you for the discounted bill adjusted because they delayed the sauce and chips.

Katie was really good as looking after a lot of tables alone. The eggs and avocado -eggs tasted of vinegar and the avocado was really hard. Steak was cooked well done when asked medium. The chicken burger was nice and as was the veggie burger.

Henry on bar upstairs is an absolute grafter! Took care to double clean the bar implements for an allergy worry. Tip your bar staff people. They work hard for small wages & every little helps when you're ordering 2-4-1 rounds on a massive stag do group!

I barely remember my Saturday. But I had so much fun in this bar. The drinks were pouring, the conversations were going. I definitely recommend it to newcomers to York and if you spot the Irish barkeep (I forgot his name, Tim maybe?) chat him up. Best recommendations for alcohol and a lovely chat with that guy.

Nice place with an upmarket feel but with reasonable prices. Happy hour 2-for-1 is only on certain cocktails so check the list. There is wheelchair access to the ground floor but you need to call ahead (or have a friend go in ahead) so they can take you through the staff entrance.

I recently visited this swanky venue in the centre of York with York Professionals. They have lots of space on two floors. Didn't see a lift, so not great if you have access needs (didn't look for a lift either). If you're ok with stairs then you can get cosy on any floor: both of which have bars and offer a wide selection of lagers on tap (no cask ales) and spirits. Bar staff engaging to the right degree, which really helped. Not too chatty, not too passive.

Really enjoyed a networking event with Visit York with VisitYork4Biz. The venue is large, well cared for and an attentive member of staff greeted us when we arrived which a very nice touch. Staff are approachable and there's another bar on a different floor to carry on after our event. Very much enjoyed the Hors d'oeuvres / snacks and even got to take part in a cocktail making masterclass which is a service they offer for events. Highly recommended.

I went to banyan several times, The restaurant is very nice, food is good but the staff is not very attentive, I would give 5 stars but the last time I've been the waitress who was serving us before taking our meals started to caress a dog, I have nothing against the animals in the restaurants but I did not like that the waitress brought our food after caressing a dog for several minutes.
