Reviews of The Durham Ox

We had a great family weekend get together in the cottage rooms which are excellent. We used the private dining room upstairs for dinner and games on the Saturday evening. The Service and the food and drinks could not be faulted. Excellent all round.

Waitress was lovely and had awesome nails. Starter of pork belly had tons of flavour and was not fatty. Yorkshire fillet was cooked as I asked and tender. It seems strange to say but the pork escalope was too big as it was the size of the plate and a little off-putting because of that. Wine was good. Selection of beer and lager was pretty poor to be honest, luckily I didn’t come for that! Pics didn’t come out well.

Have been coming here since 2011 when i stay locally...
The pub is so lovely inside and the dining areas are relaxing and different depending where you sit.
There is an outside area also, and the view from the car park over Yorkshire is a bonus..
The food is excellent

Delicious food and friendly service, will return and have already recommended to family.
Starter: scallops were beautifully cooked and delicate. The belly pork was surprisingly lean and tasty, although slightly dry but complemented with the apple sauce.
My wife had the king prawns which were also perfectly cooked inside with a crunchy exterior. The sauce had quite a kick to it, but a good contrast to the delicate prawns.
Main: venison was delicious, soft and tender in the middle with a tasty charred finish on the outside. The dauphinoise potatoes were rich and creamy. The jus was flavoursome.
Dessert: Rhubarb crumble was a generous portion including ice cream and custard. It was sweet and wholesome.
Staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Fab pub dinner after a day out walking, cosy settings, good food, good service, great menu selection particularly for dessert, after dinner drinks and cheese too! Only lost a star as we were sat right next to the kitchen door on a busy night which wasn’t the most relaxing for us. Would recommend and return.

Had a fantastic stay at the Durham Ox. Stayed in the Blue Room, lovely and cosy, clean and well presented. Well equipped everything you could need for a short stay.
The stay included, evening meal, bed and breakfast.
The food was excellent, the sticky belly pork was the tastiest thing I've eaten in years.
Staff were friendly and very attentive.
I will definitely return.

I have never posted a review before, but this place is, without doubt, worth sharing. Food and drink are amazing and the service is just perfect. I came here on my own with my dog on a Friday night, and they could not have been more wonderful. Delicious food and highly recommend cocktails- the bar is brilliant. Plus it's so warm and cosy, all you could ever ask for from a great pub. Thank you to all at the ox!

Absolutely lovely sunday lunch. Used to go in the pub in my 6th form years. That was 30 years ago. Pub has obviously been well looked after and now as a grown up i appreciate even more. Really fancy a night in the ski lodge. Reminds me of my years working in ski resorts. So all in all, the pub helps me bring back bloody good memories. And here’s to making more there.

We thought the over-pricing pretentious but the food, service and surroundings all very good. Starters of avocado and pea/peashoot, sundried toms salad with other nice stuff was well balanced. The 'sizzling' prawns were breast stroking in oil with peppers and had they ever sizzled it was long prior their arrival to the table. Accompanying flatbreads were two slices of pizza base (complete with passata) which were... unexpected. Mains were whole dover sole which was very good and queen scallops which unfortunately were served with their two-cheese partners baked firmly to their shells, so had I not been tenacious a third of the dish would've gone back to kitchen. Lemon mess was light and the sticky toffee was superbly paired with a good icecream. The Wine Was Over-priced. With a veritable bottlebank of cheap prosecco-type empty fizz bottles in every direction (yup, partially soaked off labels leaving sticky patches on the candle holders, tap water bottles and 'bottle displays' didn't disguise the Astoria branding) it looked like a hoarders paradise. Great that dogs are catered for with canine hydration stations out the back.

A warm cosy atmosphere greeted us as we left outside the winter weather. A number of staff dealt with us, taking orders, delivering meals and clearing away. Each of them was polite, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and expertly presented, and I say this easily we will return to this delightful country pub.

We called here for a drink approximately four years ago and have meant to go back ever since. This delay in revisiting was definitely a mistake. There is nothing here they are getting wrong. An interesting and well thought out menu and fantastic service. We were spoilt for choice when trying to choose our food and when a share started arrived, split and served on two separate plates, we knew this place was something special. It’s top quality, excellent food at prices that don’t make you wince!

Sometimes you find a restaurant that makes you wish you had never given anyone else 5*. Either that or you are allowed to offer 7*. This is just that restaurant.
I have eaten at many excellent restaurants and a large number of good restaurants. This is as good as my last Michelin starred restaurant and certainly better than most I have awarded 5* in the last year.
At first sight the menu looks pricey, but when you see the dishes being brought out to the surrounding tables you soon see that you get what you are paying for. Menu looks excellent for the vegetarian and the carnivor. Wine list was very reasonably priced.
Will I come again? You bet, especially with their Sunday evening bed and dine deal.
S. W.
Excellent Christmas lunch here, and a wonderful service, will definitely be coming back again.
J. K.
I have run out of superlatives for this place. Not cheap, but they have food offerings for all budgets and completely justified given the quality of the food. Service was excellent. Only slight irritation was the service charge added at the end and many restaurants do it.
j.
Lovely time here, little bit of a wait to get seated but the service was very polite and friendly afterwards. Food was very nice, I had the lamb which was very good. Pink in the middle but crispy skin, was delicious
A. J.
My husband and I held our wedding reception here last week. Everything was flawless, including food, service, organisation, value, and decor. Our guests repeatedly stated what a fantastic venue it was, especially those who stayed onsite. I would not hesitate to recommend the Durham Ox to anyone for any reason.
A. M.
Amazing Sunday lunch as always. We keep coming back. Great selection of starters,.mains and desserts to choose from and the atmosphere and service is fab too. Beet Sunday lunches we have found in York
G.
Very nice. Friendly helpful staff. Had Fish and Chips, Cod was as fresh as I have ever eaten. Not a place to visit if you are on a budget tho….
M. R.
Our first meal out in nearly four months, and this was a great way to start. Their website has clear instructions about the health rules at present, staff are very friendly, menu is stunning, food and drinks excellent. This is not pub grub, but restaurant quality food in a relaxed atmosphere. Must also add the car park has an amazing view, the village is very picturesque and there are also rooms available at The Durham Ox.
B. M.
Superb food, service excellent. We were lucky to stay overnight, beautiful accommodation, faultless. Thank you.
G. M.
Absolutely fantastic. Food was wonderful - we had the fish platter followed by the chateaubriand platter. So much food that we only managed to share the sticky toffee pudding dessert. We will definitely be back.
R. B.
Excellent food, welcoming and attentive staff. Highly recommend this restaurant, value for money and lovely environment for that special occasion.
C. G.
Service 10. Ambience 10. Food and drinks 10. This place was classy and rustic at the same time. We ate starters only and a few drinks but was still tasty. Since it's the only bar for miles and a nice establishment the prices for drinks are higher. Average bottle of wine setting you back £30.
N. R.
Brilliant food, great service, lovely staff. Highly recommended worth making a detour for.
D. M.
The staff are absolutely lovely here. We were lost and stopped in and they were fantastic and helped us to find our way. :-)
N. B.
We didn’t have the best experience due to a major power failure just as we were getting ready to go into the pub for a meal, which we never got due to the power outtage. However the staff were great a kept us going with drinks by candle light!
Breakfast the following morning was excellent and we did have a good nights sleep in the very cozy cottage room.
Despite our experience and missing out on the meal we re-booked and hopefully our stay will only be better this time 😉
Update: We returned to The Ox last week and had a great evening.
A. F.
Excellent pub! Fantastic food and nice ambiance. Dog friendly too, not cheap but the food is top notch. Highly recommended
A. P.
Unassuming exterior reveals 300 year old pub. Good Food and well kept beer. Early bird menu we'll priced. Had the sea food platter for one and chips , followed by crepe souzette. All very well presented with good service.
K. H.
Had a beautiful Sunday roast here today. Highly recommend the lamb 👌
Lovely, attentive staff.
A. T.
Well run professional establishment, good beer. Food looked good, but didn't sample myself. Lovely beer garden.
M. R.
Had a lovely one night break. Stayed in Lavender Cottage. Great room, comfy bed and fantastic bathroom. Enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant. Service very good and friendly.
L. S. 2. C. S.
What a real wonderful find. Had a lovely lunch. A beautiful old pub/ restaurant and a great place to stay overnight
I.
What a great pub - good honest food, friendly staff and most importantly well kept local beer. Keep up the good work.
J. o.
Had a top Sunday lunch here of a mix of starters, roast beef, yorkshire pudds + trimmings and a STP and crème brûlée. Staff were friendly and the style is gastropub meets walking holiday / old fashioned feel.
E. A.
Beautifully presented menu, with some great seasonal specials. Very warm hospitality from the whole team.
J. S.
Fantastic food. You won't be disappointed.
Keep up the great work Durham ox
D. B.
Not cheap but the food was good. The staff were really friendly too...
A. J.
Great atmosphere, great food , Great wine selection and Great service. Staff very friendly and attentive. Lots of parking.
t. m.
Really enjoyed the food and friendly atmosphere of this restaurant. Staff were very attentive.
S. W.
We had the prime rib of beef to share and it was aged and cooked lovely 👌 with all the trimmings we couldn't fault any of it and we would recommend to anyone who likes proper food.
P. L.
Excellent pub. Good value and great service! The early bird pint + prosecco was a nice bonus
R. C.
Amazing food at this lovely village pub. Worth the commute to come here. Been twice now and both times have been 5 star. The pork belly starter is the best pork belly I have had. Other starters like the French onion soup and the prawn cocktail also got rave reviews at the table.
Mains we had the burger which was fantastic. The fish and chips and sea bass also received great reviews.
Additionally great local beer on tap and a very reasonable bill.
R. F.
Always good. Interesting service by knowledgeable staff. Great tastes and good wine list. Always a favourite
J. H.
Stayed here on Boxing Day and Rose Cottage was excellent. Very well presented and dog friendly too. We were able to borrow quite a few dog blankets from the Doghouse too.
A great meal on the evening in the restaurant and a fantastic breakfast. It isn't everyday that you see prosecco and vodka on the breakfast buffet.
Would definitely return.
L. H.
The food is absolutely amazing. The accommodation was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The bed was huge and looked comfy.... unfortunately that wasn't the case . It was unfortunately well slept in and the mattress needed replacing. But saying that it didn't stop us having a wonderful weekends stay at this very special pub.
Certainly won't put us off staying again.
J. P.
A nice place with friendly staff and good service. Our main courses of fish and chips were good, too, although the tartare sauce it came with was a bit bland. Still, a good meal.
R. W.
A private function was my reason for being there. The staff were discrete and friendly. Food OK. Car park was very muddy but they are doing building work so it could improve. Maybe a return visit in summer when its warmer weather.
D. M.
This place is a real gem, stayed nearby on a recent trip down to Stratford and booked in totally by chance, the staff were a delight going out of their way to make us feel welcome and accommodate our party.
The food was delicious and portions were so generous for the money that even three big eaters in our group almost didn't finish!
Will definately be coming back here!
M. D.
Lovely setting, menu has wide choice of top quality dishes. Impeccable service. Highly recommended.
A. H.
Fabulous weekend stay. The cottage was warm and cosy and welcoming. We dined in the restaurant which was fully booked. The menu promoted local produce and a good choice of specialities. The view from the cottage next morning was stunning. Breakfast was served nice and hot and again with locally sourced produce.
R. B. P.
My parents had been here several times, but this was my first. Very comfy, great food and very friendly helpful staff. Not much choice for vegans, but what they do have is delicious. Also it was really busy when we went, but didn't feel crowded or like we couldn't maintain social distance. Top marks.
D. C.
Our first visit - a family evening meal for four - we received a lovely warm welcome. It was a busy evening, but staff were patient and kindly attentive to my elderly parents. We all agreed that our diverse choices from the menu were truly delicious..... personally I can recommend the chefs fish dish whilst my father soon learned that a Tomahawk cut of pork means that it is large enough to fall off the sides of the plate 🍽 All very enjoyable and I'm sure we will be returning soon
R. D.
Stayed overnight in a cottage and everything was excellent thank you, the meal, and accommodation
L. M.
Location is wonderful. Food is good. Pub is a bit too shabby chic in some areas.
F. o.
Beautiful views, exquisite food, very expensive
r. j.
Fantastic private dining for our little boys Christening, staff could not have been more helpful, food and service excellent. Ambience and the facilities were beautiful. Would highly recommend.
G. P.
Loads of character and atmosphere. Great menu choices and the food is awesome. Great for a romantic meal or celebrating a special occasion with family or friends. Top place!!
L. G.
Just called for drinks after our walk, beautiful old pub, menu and drinks selection looked impressive.
J. C.
Good food, great atmosphere and super service.
A. S.
My beef and ale pie was delicious and full of sumptuous thick gravy contained in a thick pastry case, but with a cobbler and mash I felt there was too much carbohydrate on the plate. It was also served with an unnecessary, thin and insipid gravy on the side.
My wife had baked queen scallops with cheese which were delicious, but oily and hard to eat, being very well stuck to the shells in which they were served.
The bakewell tart was excellent with boozy cherries and was the star of the meal. A neighbouring table ordered a surf and turf sharer which looked amazing.
Reasonable value for money but let down by the mains in this case.
M. W.
Dog friendly apartments which are clean and spacious, with tea and coffee in the room plus a large breakfast provided in the pub.
The pub itself is also dog friendly but worth mentioning if you plan to take your pooch in as there is a separate area for dogs.
Good choice of beer, wine and spirits plus a very nice food menu. Also worth checking the specials.
Good walks from the door, I would highly recommend a visit or a stay.
W. L.
Was visiting North Yorkshire for a couple of days for my Girlfriends birthday. We were due to go into York but recommended The Durham Ox as it was much closer to where we were staying. Have to say very impressed with everything. Friendly and attentive staff, Great food and a lovely Pub. If you are in the area I would definitely advise to visit this establishment.
S. T.
I’ve been enjoying this pub for over 30 years and it’s still as lovely as ever. As soon as you walk into the bar, the ambience envelops you and you know you’ll be back again and again.
Fabulous food and a really good short but excellent wine list, beautiful napery, cutlery and comfortable well spaced tables. The scallops with Gruyere cheese served in scallop shells is one of their signature starters - absolutely scrummy.
I recently hosted a milestone Birthday in the private dining room upstairs, which has the most beautiful adjoining sitting room and a cloakroom. Everything was perfect - from the Event Manager’s care, consideration and flexibility to the lovely, absolutely professional serving staff who unobtrusively looked after us with humour and kindness.
The food was outstanding - many guests hadn’t been before and they were blown away by the whole experience. I can’t recommend this place enough.
P. W.
Booked a table for the Sunday lunch menu. The pub has a fantastic atmosphere and although the service was good served by polite young staff. The food was tasted amazing and the beef was out of this world. But sadle all 6 meals were cold. we advised the staff but got no feedback at all....shame. we will return and give it another go
E. H.
Always gorgeous food and the staff are lovely
L. S.
This place is one of my favourite places to eat. The food is excellent with wonderful choices to be had. Staff excellent friendly and helpful. Great choice in food and drinks with there very own gin which I have to say is Gorgeous. Lovely Quaint place with a wonderful atmosphere. No wonder it won best pub of the year. Can definitely recommed.
A. M.
We had a fantastic wedding dinner here. It felt safe and clean in Covid times and lots of consideration was made to ensure we had a wonderful time.
Thank you for an amazing night and such amazing food!
A. P.
Lovely food and atmosphere.
H. I.
Fantastic food and service. Lovely clean surroundings and a homely atmosphere.
D. B.
Bueatiful place fantastic menu lovely accommodation ,in the stunning Howardian hills
J. K.
One of the best places I've been to. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The cottage was very cozy and made me feel like home. The food was great and the Jacob did a great job with the drinks. I definitely will be staying here again the next time I stay in York.
P. E.
Fantastic food, great beer, really friendly people and a nice atmosphere. Well worth a visit.
M. T.
Staff great, place well set out, but beef was very tough and red wine gravy that just wasn't for me In a Yorkshire Sunday roast. Was a surprise given the hype
j. s.
Great traditional pub, great food, great accommodation great staff
A. L.
This pub offers first class seasonal menu at reasonBle prices. Great service, attentively attenddd to by the waiting staff. The chefs are world class, presenting food unsurpassed by any other Yorkshire restaurant.
C. B.
The meal was the best I have tasted in a long time. A simple meal, but the flavours were delicious.Beautiful old pub, lovely service. I would recommend a visit. The cheeseboard was a real tasty end to a tasty meal
R. R.
My wife and I have been visiting for over 12 years. A lovely put, wonderful staff and great food. I recommend the Chateaubriand with a lobster on the side!
J. T.
Great food, excellent atmosphere and prices at both ends of the scale. You won't go far wrong here. The Pork Belly starter is delicious. Recommended
A. G.
Very good service and an excellent choice for a special occasion. Perhaps a bit pricey compared to other good quality pub restaurants within 20 mins of the area. The comparison is more a sign of stiff competition in the area.
C. S.
Share what this place is like? We're in the middle of a terrifying pandemic, the world is losing its head, and the Durham Ox is taking sensible measures, then providing a superior service. Food was predictably great, along with the wine and everything else.
A. B.
Warm in all senses of the word! A happy and informal atmosphere, good food with options for the vegan and picky members of our group 🙂 We really enjoyed our visit.
S. H.
Fantastic pub. Really good food, service and atmosphere, everyone very friendly. We only chanced upon it by accident and are very glad we did!
B. R.
We had our wedding reception here , food was beautiful, adjusted / catered for us exactly how we wanted , micheal couldn't do enough to help .. and the team . Had fantastic time and rooms were excellent. Thanks again guys...Barrie and Catherine
I. B.
Absolutely love eating here. Food is 5star
Atmosphere is good overall 10/10.
A. R.
Food was amazing, staff were friendly, room was cozy and lovely. Lots of little extras, a yorkie bar, lovely coffee and gorgeous breakfast!
T. B.
Treated ourselves to an overnight stay and dinner at The Durham Ox just before Christmas and it was a brilliant experience all round. Friendly staff, luxurious rooms and incredible food. Will definitely be returning.
P. G.
So different inside than the look from the front, a large bar, dining room, outside seating with bar, bbq and smoker Station and a great view. My first time but it won't be my last.
C. S.
Amazing stat at the Durham Ox. The food is unbelievable and the rooms are fantastic!
S. I.
Beer very well kept spot on
C. B.
Wonderful experience here. If only all village pubs were like this. Good but not overzealous C-19 precautions. Had a great time and the food is fantastic.
M. R.
Delicious food, great service and atmosphere.
E. B.
We had my sisters wedding here yesterday. Absolutely impeccable service, food, venue and atmosphere.
Well done to the whole team at the Durham Ox- outstanding as always!
B. B.
Fantastic stay at this lovely pub come hotel.Staff were very friendly and helpful ( the manager ran us to our destination, Sunday lunchtime,as we couldn't get a taxi),the food was superb,as was the room.Breakfast exceptional. We would highly recommend this place to anyone.
D. W.
What a great meal, I had the 52 day aged rump steak, and my wife had the ribeye, they were both beautifully presented and the taste was sublime. Definitely worth a visit, but book to prevent disappointment.
c. b.
Food is good and the decor is fitting a 300 year old building but there is a swish dining area out the back which is new.
The staff are very efficient and articulate but lack warmth and personality which can make such a difference when dining out .
Have been before and will go again which is recommendation in itself😊😊😊
T. H.
Excellent food, great atmosphere and friendly staff, tried loads of other restaurants in the locality and always come back here as the best in the area in my opinion.
S. O.
Delicious food and a lovely atmosphere
j. E.
As a party of six, we arrived just on time after a hectic trip to find that the table was not ready; it would be 5mins. 20mins later we moved to the table. This was not a good start, and it would take some recovering! Well, recover the Durham Ox did! A generous gesture for our inconvenience, first class food, efficient and attentive service from very personable staff. A most enjoyable lunch, and there's no doubt that I'd welcome a return visit!! No wonder it's busy!!!
A. P.
Birthday celebration in the function Barn at Durham ox - good night, food was good - wood fired outdoor pizza oven, but dough bases very burned towards the end of the serving, but a fun way to spend the evening. Lovely function room and good service. House alcohols provided were also very good.
C. H.
Excellent pub. Food was outstanding and service quick, really nice traditional pub atmosphere. Extensive sea food choices as well as usual British pub food staples. Don't forget to check for what specials are available. Reasonable prices, beer garden and parking as well.
N. H.
Been going here since I was a child. Good range of vegetarian options and caters well for other special diets. Great friendly and speedy service. Very pretty little village and well worth the ride out in the country to get there. Lovely accommodation too.
P. A.
Awesome! Mussels and chips fantastic.
Kids meals are very good value.
Mac and cheese was a success. Lots of options if needed they will accommodate you.
D. B.
My son and daughter in law held their wedding reception here. Most guests stayed over in the cottages which were very comfortable with very good facilities. The food was delicious and well presented. A very enjoyable weekend.
T. K. G.
Very good food, consistently offering a wide selection of bistro dishes. Sunday lunch is superb, it's a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Restaurant is warming and the staff are friendly
R. P.
Very good but expensive, at least for me. This time I only went for a drink. A good selection of ales and lagers. If you're into gins then try the house one. It does have a good local pub atmosphere but does get taken over by the diners
E.
I have been coming to the Ox for 40 years with many interesting moments across that period. The Ox has changed a lot during that time always for the better. Nice staff, good food and great choices for drink. Lovely location.
K.
Astonishingly delicious food! Truffled macaroni and cheese and their cocktails were standouts. Robust fluffy bread served as a starter with tapanade and hummus. Service was very attentive and thoughtful and the rooms were impeccably clean and cozy.
P. J.
Lived in France for 10 years, (ordering steak is risky) back here for the last two years and have always been able to count on the Durham Ox for a really good steak, always being confident on taking our friends for a very pleasant steak, but not tonight.
They replaced the first two rib eye steaks with two just as tough which we left, so very disappointed, granted they reduced the price of the meal but rather have a nice meal.
Problem now do we risk going back !!!. Still give them 4 stars for the wonderful pub, atmosphere and staff.
K. S. (.
The food is good, but some may see it as a little pricey at around £24 for a steak. That said the Rib Platter is great value at around £12...
Drinks are also a tad expensive with a small cocktail weighing in at just under £8...
The staff are really great and the service was excellent.
R. N.
Wow. Cannot fault the place. Was recommended to us and did not disappoint. Attentive but not overbearing service. Food was truly impressive.
E. T.

M. C.
Food is fantastic
Y.
Fantastic food and service. Their outdoor seating provision is 2nd to none, very warm and cozy even on a cold windy day.
S. F.
Warm, friendly staff, cosy surroundings, great scenery close by, ample car park, and most importantly a top notch Sunday lunch with a great selection of ales!
Y. G.
The food was excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was relaxed and very family friendly. Although it was a cold wet day the setting is beautiful and picturesque.
J. S.
Lovely meal, fantastic outdoor covered seating with heaters so you can meet up with others outside your household in these strange times we live in!!
C. w.
Fabulous food & great atmosphere.
Love the "dog house" too!
D. E.
Dishes generally good but lacked the ‘wow-factor’ I was expecting given the prices. Portion sizes a little disappointing.
D. B.
Fabulous lunch menu with all necessary Covid precautions in place.
Very polite and attentive staff.
Thank you very much, looking forward to dining with you again very soon.
G. D.
Visited the Durham Ox for a late lunch after completing the Crayke Estate walk with our dog. The food and drinks menus were excellent. If anything there was perhaps a little bit too much choice between the fixed menu, a la carte, and specials board. Will definitely go back for the full experience
K. W.
I've been going to the Ox for many years and find it consistently excellent. Yes it does have some days which are slightly less good than others. Sunday lunch is always very busy and you have to make allowances to some degree. Don't go to the Ox if your idea of atmosphere is Sky TV and your idea of a pub lunch is a mountain of tired indeterminate meat with Bisto gravy and boiled broccoli, or if you are unable to spell or refrain from using profanities to express your views. It's a great place. We love it
E. R.
Have been visiting the ox for the last 17 years sadly our last trip didn't feel as welcoming as it usually has done. Food was technically good but we felt rushed to order and rushed to leave. Not in a 'rush' to go back.
P. S.
A beautiful meal and excellent service.
R. E.
Excellent food as usual and well thought out social distancing in the marquee. Always enjoy our visits there
C. L.
We loved everything about this place. Great food, service, drinks, atmosphere 👍👍👍
L. A.
Nice place not far from York, where it is possible taste Local English cousine l. Food was good and there was a good choice of both, beers and wine. We will definetely come back!
J. B.
Delicious food, nice atmosphere. Comfortable. Quick service. Needs more vegan friendly options.
A. G.
A super culinary experience in this stylish traditional country inn. Warm friendly service with beautifully cooked food.
The Pimms was also fab!
T. M.
Have visited this pub numerous times over 30 years and we still enjoy it every time ,we've seen the subtle changes over the years! The food is outstanding all local, the staff are fab, keep up the good work!😀
A. M.
Absolutely fantastic. Food, staff and rooms are brilliant. Very welcoming and friendly, can't wait to go back 👍😁
M. W.
First pub I've been into since the lockdown and it didn't disappoint! Nice location and friendly staff. Will definitely return in the future.
G. P.
Relaxed comfort. Great food particularly the steak and some good choices of wine. Superb location to visit York and the Dales
E. F.
Very nice country pub. Friendly staff. It is a bit pricey. It cost £120 for 3 people to have a 2 course meal and some drinks
L. C.
Lovely place. Staff friendly and attentive. Food was exceptional. Looking forward to returning in the future.
D.
