E. I.Lovely little place with a great pub atmosphere. Service was good, food was delicious. Had a nice time with the family. I had a chicken burger comes with side salad and fries. Place was packed at the time on a Saturday lunch time this close to Xmas York is massively busy. Quaint little hidden gem of a pub...okay maybe not hidden that much but hey 😉 Decent reasonable prices!
S. M.My husband, brother in law and I stopped at Wildes for Saturday lunch and the experience was wonderful. The staff were lovely and provided great service, and the food was reasonably priced and delicious with generous portions. I enjoyed a mozzarella, tomato and pesto sandwich on ciabatta bread which came with a side salad and crisps.
D. K.Received a very warm welcome while visiting with our dog. Staff were very attentive and friendly making sure we were happy and comfortable without hovering.
The service was so good we would have been happy if the food was mediocre. But the food was absolutely top notch with a good selection of veggie and vegan options.

m. c.Went here for a drink and some lunch on Saturday, everything was really nice apart from the size of the burger that I ordered. Was completely dwarfed by the burger bun and that in itself wasn't a big one. Was more like the size of a 'slider'. I should have said something about it at the time but I'm typically English and we don't. Would go back again but definitely not for a burger !
T. M.We've been twice now in the last 2 years with family and can't fault the place at all. Staff are all friendly, food and drink was very well priced (especially seeing as its in the centre of York) And on both occasions everyone was happy with the food. Generous portions and very tasty!
R. M.Great service! Really lovely staff, we came in a fairly big group and one order got mixed up - staff fixed it super quickly and a free drink for the friend while waiting! Definitely go here, also check out the cool glass roof on the first floor. ☺️

L. H.Such a wonderful warm, cosy bar and restaurant in the centre of York. Welcoming and attentive staff, delicious home cooked food. Excellent selection of drinks and cocktails. Live entertainment is put on regularly which is amazing. Would highly recommend any day of the week!
A. L.Annual visitors to North Yorkshire to visit family nearby to York. Upon finishing our activities that day we wanted somewhere low-key to eat. We chose Wildes. A small tucked away bistro, it seems unassuming, but lovely decor and vibe inside, and lovely food. I had the bbq chicken burger and throughly enjoyed. I know my relatives enjoyed theirs too! Will definitely return next time we are in the area.
