I have been a tenant at a property managed by Centrick since 2019. They are very professional and have brilliant helpful staff. In the case of maintenance, they have a portal and you can report the issue online. During the last two years, I was in touch with Precious Campbell, who was the best property manager I was in touch with, and always replied to my emails swiftly, often with great help. For example, whenever I needed a letter, she sorted it in a few hours, while the same kind of letter with my former property agent took three/four days! Overall, I strongly recommend The Centrick property for finding a good place to live in Birmingham.

This time it was Mei Clark who helped me to solve the problem of renting an apartment. I was really confused when I first came to the UK, but thanks to Mei's help I was able to move into my flat. The biggest problem I had at that time was the proof of address. I only had the address proof from my university, but I needed to provide bank statements or other government documents in order to get the keys to the house. As a student, I didn't have my own bank statement and my name wasn't on my utility bill, so I sat in the lobby of the office for a long time, not knowing what to do. Mei made many trips up and down the office, contacted many people and finally told me I could use my ID card as proof of address. I really appreciated her help and she even responded positively to messages on weekends and during non-working hours. Without her I would really have had a big problem with the language issue. It is no exaggeration to say that you are really lucky to have Mei!

Update at bottom: Terrible customer service, been trying for over a month since my tenancy ended to get my deposit back. Tenancy manager is not replying to my repeated emails and I have no other way of getting in contact to get my money back. The lack of response is incredibly rude and unprofessional! They also added charges to my deposit 4 weeks after I moved out, past the time outlined in my contract. Absolutely useless! Would definitely not recommend Update: Problem was fixed within an hour of them replying, so that’s decent 👍🏻

I have been looking to invest in a flat in Birmingham, and Centrick Birmingham has made this process very straightforward. When calling up to get some information about the area and current developments, primarily speaking to Christiana Plati, I was given an overview of the key regions and essential developments in the city. Christiana had also recommended looking in the outskirts of Birmingham, where there are good opportunities for investors. A few months later, I had secured a flat at the very centre of the city, and I contact Centrick again where Christiana referred me to James Dunn. James has helped me with the marketing and letting process of my flat, not only by putting it online and arranging viewings but also by providing frequent market updates, making recommendations for improvement in the flat and finally securing a tenant despite the very challenging times with COVID-19 and high availability. I will undoubtedly choose Centrick again because they have been professional, fair and knowledgeable for lettings and sales in the Midlands.

Yasmin Hall, a tenancy manager at Centrick gets a 5-star review: I have always found her to be very friendly and polite and quick to respond to messages. In her messages I get the sense that she has really listened to my issue or enquiry and will do what she can to help. It has made a real difference having Yasmin as a main point of contact, and I am very grateful to know she is someone I can contact and rely on. Centrick as a company gets maybe 3 stars. My main issue is that repairs can take a very, very long time (outside of the pandemic), and (aside from Yasmin) communication is poor (e.g. will almost always fail to provide a promised follow up call or email). But generally they seem fine/standard, everyone is polite and friendly, they are professional, and I appreciate that repairs do get done (eventually!) i.e. they don't decline to repair things that are flagged. TBC on what they're like re deposits.

They were ok. Getting things fixed with them was a pain. They always threatened to charge you if you called them to fix something. They send you a manual to fix it yourself first instead of coming to fix it. Also, if things broke, you'd sometimes have to talk to another company like seven capital instead of Centrick to fix it. In the end, you almost just gave up before you got something fixed. Apart from that they are professional enough I guess. If your house is a new build- prepare for a £200 deduction in your deposit for general clean and oven clean.

Bit of a mixed bag really. Viewing - Timely, but ultimately disorganised as existing tenants in the apartments we wanted to view opened the door to their surprise that a viewing was supposed to be taking place. Whether that is Centrick or the tenant's fault I am not sure. Contract/Signing/Payment - As you'd guess, smooth (always is when it involves the money!) Moving in - Property was thoroughly cleaned. Can't fault the process here. Aftersales - Overall, poor. We've had inventory lists and appliance instructions come only after making chasers; issues with the property (including a broken light noted on the late received inventory list) being very slow on response to make any effort to fix (still not even had a call from maintenance despite Centrick saying they would get in touch with them to call us). The concierge in our apartment couldn't take deliveries or fix our broken fobs (to access the car park, gym and apartments at night) because according to them the flat was still empty (we'd lived there for over a week by this point!), and this was resultant of Centrick not sending over our registration details which were provided weeks in advance of moving in. The concierge's (under Centrick's employment) overall have also been poor, and do not seem to pass messages to the next concierge on shift, which is a major issue if i ask one concierge a question in the morning to come back after work and start the merry-go-round again. None seem to take much responsibility either, with only one trained in fixing fobs (even though I could go to a hotel and get a broken electronic door key fixed by any receptionist and it take 2 mins). I would summarise aftersales as being a lot more hassle than seems necessary, for both parties! From what can be a very positive experience, leaves a bad taste in your mouth that ultimately, a property management company just takes the rent/commissions and leaves the management of properties on the afterburner (they do not do what they say on the tin).
