I have had the pleasure of working with Dan O’Malley from Cottons. I needed a valuation done on my home as part of the remortgaging process. From the outset, Dan always replied to my emails quickly. The valuations (I had to have three done due to issues with banks/solicitors) were always done within a couple of days of me contacting Dan and the valuation reports were completed and emailed to me the following day. As well as being very efficient and thorough, Dan was always pleasant and warm in nature which was an added bonus. I will definitely recommend Dan to any family member or friend who needs a valuation.

Reaching an agreement that everyone is happy with is essential when marketing a property, and in this respect Cottons were brilliant. Equally impressive was the service they offered throughout the entire selling process. Selling a property at auction is s-o-o-o-o easy, especially if the auction house is Cottons and the auctioneer is Andrew Barden. We instructed Cottons at the beginning of October and completed mid November, about seven weeks later..!! That's a lot faster than using an Estate Agent ! Dealing with Cottons and Andrew in particular was so easy and straight forward. And Cottons kept us informed every step of the way. Brilliant !! As a family we decided to rent out the former family home in Northfield Birmingham, following the death of my parents. Having absolutely no experience at this we turned to Cottons to manage the whole process. They found a tenant advised on appropriate rental charges and managed the property tenant relationship. After five years or so we decided to sell the property. We asked Cottons to market the house. Dan O’Malley a partner at the firm handled the sale, he conducted most of the viewings and most importantly dealt with the negotiations, he did an excellent job. Selling a house is stressful and there are always issues, the reason I’m writing this review is that Dan and Cottons took a lot of the stress out of it. They managed the whole process which included some remarketing as the first purchaser pulled out. Overall as a family we were very happy with the team at Cottons both as managing agents and finally as regular estate agents. My experience is that when getting involved with house letting and a subsequent sale is that it was a relief to have an intermediary who vetted tenants and prospective purchasers. Happy to recommend.

I Would highly recommend Cottons the auctioneers .I have been successful in purchasing and selling numerous properties over the years. The guide prices are always honest and fair. There are other auctioneers that guide the prices at ridiculously low figures - just to give you false hope and waste valuable time / resources. The staff are always very helpful.

Exceptional Auction Service........ I sold my property in the Cottons auction (December 2018). The Cottons auction team have been absolutely fantastic - I want to take this opportunity to personally thank Andrew Barden, the Auctions Partner at Cottons). The property I sold was in Liverpool (Cottons are in Birmingham). Andrew Barden of Cottons drove all the way to Liverpool (from Birmingham) to conduct a market appraisal of my property and to produce a high quality video tour of my property, as well as taking a lot of photos. Andrew kept me fully appraised of progress at all times, going above and beyond what anybody would expect from an auctioneers - calls until late into the evenings to keep me fully up to date, prompt emails and calls to potential bidders and interested parties (many of which Andrew would be working on until almost 1am in the morning). The end result - I achieved quite a bit more than the the maximum guide price as Andrew Barden and his admin team worked hard to ensure that all interested parties received the information that they each needed, on time and at all times. I would highly recommend Cottons Auctioneers and Chartered Surveyors if you are looking for a first class, all around professional service. Thank you Andrew and the team for all your help.
