Over the past 12 months our company has built a fantastic relationship with Douglas Smartmove estate agents. They have a have personal touch to what they do. The senior head Mary and her team go the extra mile in ensuring the customer experience is the best it can be. More recently, one of our properties (from Douglas) had a few internal issues due to general wear and tear. Within one hour, Douglas smart move sent our engineers and maintenance teams to address the issues. The service was professional, sincere and speedy and I honestly couldn’t believe how quickly they turned a stressful day into a positive one. Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone at Douglas SmartMove. I’d been trying to find a property to rent for a few months with no joy and was beginning to lose my mind and faith in the whole estate agents business. Such unprofessionalism and at times downright rude. That is until I met the team at Douglas SmartMove. From the outset they were professional and upfront about the property I was interested in. (None of this oh if you want it you’ll probably have to bid higher if someone else is interested). Once I told them I was interested and needed to move quickly they went above and beyond to get everything sorted. Emailing and texting regularly to make sure I was kept up to date. (I have to say I was literally a nightmare, harassing them all the time for fear of losing the property) 🤣 even so they remained totally professional and guided me through the process. I quickly realised I could relax and let them do their jobs. I’m now in my rental accommodation and they remain on hand for any questions which are dealt with swiftly. I’ll definitely be using them to guide me through the process of buying a house once I’m ready to move on. I initially used Douglas Estate agents around six months ago. After my tenant (who had signed a twelve month contract) needed to vacate the property due to redundancy, Mary and her team worked extremely hard to find a suitable tenant whilst at the same time trying to cut the financial losses for everyone concerned. Hi have used Douglas Smartmove a few times now over the past few years. They have always been professional and communication has been good. This has been brought to the fore recently in the last house sale which the Covid pandemic and the lack of mortgage availability played havoc with. With selling our house, the one off up front fee was significantly lower than the fees quoted by other estate agents. Over the years I have dealt with numerous high street agents with dissapointing results. I have now found my agent of choice, Douglas Smartmove. The few issues I had with plumbing and the garden when I moved in were dealt with promptly and proffesionally. Douglas Smartmove have been friendly, approachable and service orriented from beginning to end. I cannot recommend Douglas Smartmove highly enough. Five star service!

Rented through Douglas smartmove for a 1 bed flat near five Ways on a 6 month contract. It was all great at the begining, Mary was great and the staff were nice. After a few weeks i realised that the property had a few serious issues. The bathroom ceiling right above the shower had a small but visible hole, so the waste water from the flat above mine was leaking and subsequently ending up on my bathtub. I got in touch with rentwise (their property management team) for weeks, I would ring them every other day asking for progress. They always promised but never delivered. Only when I started sending them video footage they said the property is managed by us but owned by midland heart. It took them over three months to tell me this. Furthermore I had a toilet window that wouldn't open and that never got fixed either. During my six month the ceiling nor the window was fixed. Douglas staff would always say that it was out of their hands but they could've done something earlier but they never tried. As a result I got seriously ill because of all the mould and lack of insulation in the property. Overall Mary was really nice but the rentwise management wasn't great at all.

(May-11) We've used Douglas Estates as tenants for the last 12 months or so and they've been great. After an initial hiccup whereby the sales agent told us there was no issue with having our cat in the house but then failing to get it added to the contract (later rectified!), Douglas Estates have been nothing short of impeccable. Every time there's been anything needed with our rental property (any faults, etc), it's been dealt with professionally, politely and in quick time. A special mention must go to Pauline who's always on hand and gets things done, fast!

I have used douglas smart move on numerous occasions for lettings and for sales ,they are a professionally run company who contact you with any problems and support you every step of the way ,and what always shines out to myself is they still have that personnel touch which I feel most company's have lost now it seems to be all about targets not your individual needs ,if these multinational esetate agents could run there bussiness like Douglas smart move the sales or lettings process would be a lot less stressful for every one involved .
