Late last year, my elderly mother needed to sell her Essex house as I had arranged for her to move into assisted living close to us in Warks. We invited 3 local estate agents to iscuss the sale and we were most impressed with Darryl's relaxed but professional manner as well as his knowledge of the local market and marketing strategy. His fee was also the lowest so there was no contest! Within 2 weeks, Darryl had set up a fully-booked open day which resulted in several offers at, or above, the asking price! Although the first buyer unfortunately dropped out, Darryl quickly contacted one of the previous viewers who were still interested and the sale was completed several weeks later, Darryl kept us updated throughout and even helped us with collecting and forwarding some papers which had been left in the house by mistake. Exceptional service from Elms Price (twice now) when selling our homes. Nothing was too much trouble. They were polite, professional, always returned phone calls, kept us updated and generally went the extra mile to make the process as smooth as possible. The same cannot be said for the estate agents we bought our houses from. When viewing properties we also came across some very uncouth estate agents. Elms Price for us acted with integrity and are the only ones myself and my husband would trust.

After trying other agents who promised the world to me and after having no luck selling, I was recommended Elms Price by a colleague. Due to the location of my bungalow, being near a railway line, footbridge and a pub it was never going to be an easy sell. And yes it did take a while. First we had the uncertainty of Brexit to contend with and then the pandemic. Both meaning that the property market took some strange twists. And then of course the Stamp Duty help from the government kick started the market and I eventually sold. All the way through this though, Andrew and Darryl at Elms Price tried their utmost to sell my property and were honest and open about the situation. Other agents advised me to spend big on changing parts of my place to appeal to a wider audience etc etc but that was just a smoke screen for “we can’t sell your place because it’s next to a railway line”. I had none of that with Elms Price. We knew it would go, and when it did, they did everything I would expect of an agent, even when my buyer was an interesting character who offered his own challenges. Well done Elms Price. I totally recommend you to anyone selling.

Andrew at Elms Price was extremely knowledgeable and professional, our house was a tricky one to sell being a converted Chapel but with no garden to speak of and no parking so a very niche market, but Andrew made sure viewers knew exactly what to expect (a previous estate agent had not done this and a lot of time was wasted). I rented with Elms price for about 7 years in total. After a few staff changes I had no problems, if I needed something fixed or looked at they were there within 24 hours. I ended a tenancy early due to needing to move and they helped this happen with no issue (obviously landlords decision so doesn't always go this way).They didn't take any of my deposit, didn't even try as I've seen this mentioned in some of the reviews on here and it was back to me when they said it was going to be. If i needed to rent again I would go to them first.

Before putting my property on the market the question was- Big estate agents or a small local estate agents? i choose correctly, use a small local estate agents. Big agents would not have given me the time of day as i would have been 1 out of 200 properties they have for sale. If they do not sell your property then they go out of business- easy. I didn’t use Darryl and John at ElmsPrice directly: they were acting for a seller further along the chain. However, when the whole thing looked like falling over (lawyer inertia), it was ElmsPrice that took my calls and emails, chased and cajoled the lawyers, other agents and clients, and helped get the transaction back on track.
