I recently used Horton Knights to sell my mums bungalow. It was my first experience of having to sell a property and I have to say that from day 1, the whole team were excellent. First of all, big thank you for being part of our first time buying process, however I thought I need to leave an honest review for the team. Unfortunately our experience with Horton Knights wasn't the most pleasant, we found that house match system doesn't work very well, we had very irrelevant mailshots come through to us, whilst looking for a house. Team communication is unfortunately really bad (again from our experience), emails are not answered, call response is pretty much non existent. Making an offer for a house, having to wait longer than a week to get any kind of feedback, just to call in and be told the offer is not accepted, it is not the kind of experience I would wish anyone to go through during such difficult time as house buying. However from positives, they do arrange viewings very quickly.

Following a ridiculously low valuation of our late parents’ property by another agent, I contacted HK on the recommendation of my sister who had used them several years ago and had been very impressed. Francis carried out the initial valuation and was excellent in explaining his assessment of the property’s value and the potential market. Very easy to talk to and ask for any clarification. Roger then dealt with any offers and negotiations and helped us find a way forward when things went wrong (through no fault of HK, just the way things go!)… Roger was very easy to talk to, he listened to my questions, concerns and suggestions. The property I own in Doncaster has been managed by Horton Knights for about 6 years. The service has been exceptional. I do not live locally, so the input provided by Roger (in particular) has been essential in successfully marketing and maintaining the property whilst maximizing the rental income. The majority of other Agents seem to have no idea and make irrational judgments they would not make if it was their own property they were dealing with. That cannot be said for Roger and his team. We could not recommend the Horton Knights team enough for buying or selling. They have been brilliant throughout! We originally tried selling our home through an online estate agent in October 2019 and quickly regretted it. We had barely any communication with the online agent and weren't getting the viewings on our property that we were promised when the house was valued. I then reached out to a number of local estate agents around Doncaster and after speaking to Roger at Horton Knights, I got an immediate good impression. I felt confident after he gave me honest advice and talked me through how he and the team would approach selling our home. We switched from the online estate agent to Horton Knights in January 2020 and got an immediate reaction with a lot of regular viewings. Horton Knights also hosted the viewings which made it easier as previously using the online estate agent required me and my wife to show them around the home which at times was awkward. Communication was brilliant throughout as we were kept updated weekly on how our advert was progressing. Even during difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Horton Knights still managed to get interest on our property. We had many offers and accepted one that worked best for us shortly after lockdown was lifted. Our sale wasn't an easy one with many complications throughout which worried us but the experience from Roger and his team gave us reassurance, confidence and helped us remain calm. We were desperate to move back to Newcastle around family and friends and felt Roger understood our situation as if he was going through it himself. Initially, we were impressed with our initial contacts and thought that a percentage rather than fixed fee would generate a higher sale price. We became disappointed with HK though when the ‘for sale’ boards still had not been delivered 2 weeks after the house went up for sale. We were further disappointed when there was a distinct lack of proactive communication and update - especially during COVID-19 when we weren’t clear what was happening re- sale & viewings.
