From the process of searching for a place to rent, to the signing of our lease and the subsequent management of our flat, at each stage we have been met with professionalism, efficiency, and above all, kindness at every level. Easily the best letting agent I've dealt with in Edinburgh. Easy to contact and very personable. Inspections were prompt and any reported issues dealt with quickly and appropriately. After an unpleasant event at the property, Chapmans went above and beyond to make sure I was safe and comfortable, despite the late hour and I can't commend them enough. Covid left me in a difficult situation re: moving out and after an initial issue dealing with an unprecedented situation, they managed to offer a solution that was suitable to all parties with the least upheaval and financial ramifications. Laura in particular has always been professional and helpful and willing to offer fresh solutions to difficult circumstances.

We rented a flat with Chapmans for almost two years and had a very positive experience throughout. Both, Laura and Kevin are very competent, attentive and helpful. Communication with them or the rest of the team was always easy and quick. Any maintenance issues (broken kettle, gas/boiler checks, etc.) were dealt with efficiently and in a professional manner through their contractors. Chapmans are a small letting agency that cares about their clients and treats them with honesty and care. We would definitely consider renting with them again should we move back to Edinburgh!

Having Chapmans as an agency has been an incredibly satisfying experience. Our agent MC Galletta, has been lovely, solving all of our problems as fast as she could and being accomodating in the whole process. I am impressed with the speed and the communication between agency-tenants-landlady (probably largely due to the effort that MC put in it) and I really can't help but to recommend her. I was a tenant for Chapmans between August 2014 and July 2015. I always found all exchanges between both Laura, her husband Tim (who co runs the business) and their subcontractors excellent during the duration of my tenancy. If we ever had a issue with the apartment it was dealt with straight away and in an efficient, professional manner. I would highly recommend them as estate agents to anybody looking for property in and around the Edinburgh area. I subsequently moved to France, however if one day I choose to return to Edinburgh I would definitely look to use Chapmans to help source an apartment because their effectiveness, quality of service and high professionalism really was second to none! Where to begin. The company is run by professional and extremely friendly people. The process they take you through from deposit to moving in is simple and well thought out. Prior to moving in a 45 minute video takes you through the lease in great detail and leaves you feeling very comfortable about everything. The agents also send you emails with videos containing helpful tips to speed up the process. In comparison to the other agencies I have let with in Edinburgh, Chapmans is by far superior. I recommend them to anyone and everyone.

I would highly recommend Chapmans property management! I have rented properties from a few letting agencies and Chapmans have been the most helpful, fair and reliable. They are quick to answer email queries and it’s easy to contact them via phone (which isn’t usually the case for a lot of other letting agencies). They use an online inventory and lease, which makes the process a lot easier and allows tenants to add their own pictures to the inventory when they move in. They are also very fair with regard to deposit repayments in joint tenancies. Thank you to Hunter and especially Laura for helping me with a tenancy SWAP, they were so helpful and made the whole process seem easy and a lot less stressful.

I have worked with Chapman’s since I moved to London back in 2011 and decided to rent out my flat in Edinburgh. I remember that I was bombarded with emails from the larger letting agencies and I could have just gone with one of them, but I really wanted to find someone I could trust and who would provide a service that I could rely on. Uniquely, Kevin, our property manager handled our viewing, application, check-in and now day to day property management which has made the experience a lot more personal and efficient. Rented a flat from Chapmans for 8 months with a friend. Their service was always friendly. They also took care to notify us ahead of time when they arranged flat viewings once we notified them that we were moving out and always asked if those viewings were convenient for us. They sometimes took a while to respond to requests to fix things, however when we moved out we did our best to clean the flat and received our full deposit back, even though a lounge lamp had stopped working and we only managed to notify them of it a few days before we moved out. This meant a lot to me because I’ve known landlords who have argued to keep the deposit even once the flat had been cleaned over minor matters. It was nice to be trusted for once. Would recommend.
