Sold my house with Berkley this year, 100% recommend. Alex took some great pictures and managed to negotiate a sale price over the asking price.

This is a mixed review. The pros is that emails were dealt with in a timely fashion, however it lacked any warmth. I was never once addressed by my name, neither was the emails signed off by any name as well. The lady who showed me around the apartment didn't even introduce herself. I had to ask for her name and introduced myself. The apartment had not been lived in a while and I asked if it would be cleaned up before I moved in and she said no, that once, the previous tenant have done a move out clean, then that was it. By the time I moved in, the fridge was full of mould and the house was covered with cobwebs. The whole process felt very automated. I think they could do with some congeniality.

As a landlord, I have been with Berkley for 5 years now and rent out 2 houses through them. I have always found them to be professional and they have kept me advised of any of the tenants needs to which I have acted promptly. Some of the tenants have been delightful and some have left the houses in a less than satisfactory condition. Berkley have been very helpful in negotiating between the tenants and myself and do date, we have always achieved a satisfactory outcome. One of my initial problems was having been with an estate agent who robbed me (and many others) so trust needed to be built up. Berkley have proved to be very trustworthy and I have absolute confidence in them, certainly from the point of view of a landlord and I would also think from the point of view of a tenant. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Why only 3 stars? Well, from a sales point of view Alex Broadley has been excellent, very helpful, informative and attentive. I would recommend Berkeley’s to sell your house. From a lettings perspective, however, I have the opposite point of view. My stepdaughter has been renting a property managed by Berkeley’s for 18 months now and they have only visited the property twice - both times were dire emergencies. When I raised concerns about fire safety, Alec Dilkes refused to visit the property until I contacted Leicester City Council and they still haven’t taken any action 12 months later.

As a landlady I have used Berkley for all of my lettings. I have found them to be very professional and always happy to discuss any issues that I or my tenants have. Phone calls and emails are replied to promptly and the staff are polite and friendly. I would recommend them to anyone who has a property to rent. As a family we also chose to use Berkley to sell our house. Again all of the staff were genuine, professional and more than happy to answer any question or query, however mundane. Selling a house and finding the right one to buy can be very stressful, but it never was with the staff at Berkley. It was like having our own personal team all of the way through the process.

Have used Berkley on a Number of occasions and they have been nothing short of amazing. Thoroughly professional, competent, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. You'd be hard pushed to find a better agent or team of people (namely Ms. Cameron and Mr. Ghent) anywhere in the East Midlands. When so many Agents get it so wrong, Berkley Estate & Letting Agents are a breath of fresh air and an example of how it ought to be done!

Very unresponsive. You could call at any time in the day and no one answers, leave voicemails and no one gets back in touch. Told they will send you emails but you receive nothing, send emails and never receive a response. I am giving 3 stars because the Leicester office is pretty responsive but the Kibworth one isn't.
