We have recently bought a family home through Chestertons. Oliver obviously knows the market very well. I called about one property and had a viewing plus three good alternatives the next morning. He was very proactive and responsive throughout. During the last few days before exchange Oliver was outstanding, working with agents through the chain to push the transaction through for our preferred pre-Christmas exchange date. Chestertons are aggressive in marketing properties and this got a lot more people through the door. They were often there without much interest but Chestertons convince them to give properties a go - drawing on their substantial list of clients to show a range of properties. It was through this that they found our buyer. Will was professional, knowledgeable and assertive in getting the sale pushed through against a massive amount of external obstacles. He always had a mind on making sure the deal was robust and we completed our sale at a most challenging time in the market due to the COVID surge and stamp duty holiday. I have just recently completed selling of my house in N7 Holloway area with the assistance of Chestertons Islington branch. I was thinking of using local sales agents on Holloway Road but after seeing Chesterton has sold quite a few properties in N7 area, I decided to use them as my sole agent and it was the best decision I have ever made. From the beginning speaking to Scott about the sale of my property to valuation, it was a fantastic experience as Scott has a very good understanding of N7 area. He gave me accurate pricing based on similar properties he has sold nearby. The listing of properties was fast and efficient and the photos & floor plan produced was detailed and top-notch. The viewing was done mainly by Stuart, he was patient with the viewers and managed to fit in 5 viewings in a day. Stuart went far and beyond and even showed the property to clients who belong to another Chestertons' agent. In the end, the property was sold to an existing client from Guy and this is where Chestertons' strength lies with their extensive network of existing clients. I was very pleased that Chestertons has sold my property within a week after listing and I caught the mini stamp duty holiday boom in the late summer. Guy was fantastic in closing the deal which is probably the most important bit of the selling process and we managed to exchange contract just before national lockdown began in November. I would definitely recommend using Chesterton to sell your properties, it seems like they have the right formula selling properties in Islington area.

Guy was fantastic during the sale of my 2 bed flat. He spent a lot of time following things up to ensure that the sale went through with an extremely tricky buyer during the pandemic who made it the most complicated flat transaction I've ever come across. The viewing process was well organised - they were confirmed by text which made it easy to deal with. I had a great previous offer agreed by Kevin, which unfortunately fell through during the first lockdown. He was put on furlough during this time and there wasn't enough done to chase progress in his absence - the lawyers sat on something for 4 weeks supposedly waiting for emails from one another until I myself followed up. Three months after the offer little progress had been made and the buyers pulled out. Unfortunately the eventual sale price was a lot lower than this first offer and so I lost a lot of money. After this there were a series of price reductions. I felt a bit that one of the negotiators at Chestertons was a bit too eager to reduce the price of my flat. Dropped a star for those reasons but 5 stars for Kevin and Guy who were both great; I cannot recommend them enough. Good communication, always available, easy to deal with. Big thanks to Guy for getting it done in the end during a difficult market.

Around a year ago we were looking to buy in the Islington area and when viewing properties with Chestertons we seemed to mainly deal with Stuart. Unfortunately we have never met an agent less interested in his job. He would play on his phone throughout viewings, rarely have an answer to our questions, never follow up as promised and was just generally dismissive and rude. It came to the point where we were deciding between offering on two properties and chose the one not on with Chestertons so that we didn't have to deal with him. The only reason the review is not less than 3 stars is because we has a couple of viewings with other agents from the office who were perfectly competent, I believe one of them was called William.
