My timeline for finding a property was very tight and the spec was quite long. Lois Thompson has been very professional and supportive through the search. Very responsive and positive / constructive. Finally , she managed to find a property that got most of our boxes ticked and then negotiated well with the landlord, being ahead of all other agents. She secured it for us very effectively

Unfortunately D&G didn't end up acting for me, another agent beat them to it, however from the million agents who I did try and deal with, these guys were the only 2 worth noting. Estate agents have a pretty bad reputation of not listening to what requirements you tell them, answering your requests, calling back when you ask for viewings, knowing their job...list goes on. D&G are not on the realm of Estate Agents, they are more property consultants. Emily has either been trained well or she is just naturally gifted. She listens to your needs, contacts your regularly to see how you're getting on with your search and shows up to viewings! A great asset for the company (she also deserves a huge pay rise!!) Will sure to to get in touch for my next property.

Emily was amazing and helpful throughout. The property we ended up moving into was one that I hadn’t even considered and she took us around to view. I can’t fault her at all. However, I’ve removed one star as D&Gs policies made this an expensive move. They wanted the deposit and first months rent almost 2 months before we were due to move in, even after we’d paid the deposit to the secure the property. This meant that I had to pay my rent in my current property at the same time as the new property, on top of the deposit when my current deposit is still tied up. The only way I could afford to do this was via a short term loan which incurred interest.

It’s not about Douglas and Gordon Battersea only. It’s about Will Hunter at Douglas and Gordon. We have been “house-hunting” for 6 months and we dealt with a lot of real estate agents from several companies. Will is different. He is polite, courteous and very professional. He was always approachable and ensured the transaction ran smoothly, establishing a positive link between the previous owners and us. He facilitated all sort of last minute requests, providing a high standard of service. We hope we don’t have sell the property we bought anytime soon, and if we do so, we’ll probably look for Will Hunter to market it for us and manage the negotiation.
