I got in contact with Jamal because of a property I was interested in viewing with Foxtons. I'd only recently arrived to London from overseas, and so was fairly new to neighbours of the city and the general renting market. Jamal was kind enough to not only show me the places I was interested in, but also a number of other apartments in the areas I was looking. He took particular care to understand my requirements and curate a small set of potential options that would suit my needs. We spent a couple days driving around different parts of London, in total viewing 10-12 flats over various price ranges. By the time I found a great match, Jamal had generously given me 12+ hours of his own time, completely without obligation. Ultimately, I ended up going with a place I found independently, but to the very end Jamal was both willing and committed to helping me find the right place. Probably the smoothest rent agreement I've had in London. Jamal knew a lot about the property and responded quickly whenever I had questions or needed anything. Our contract was non-standard, but Jamal was very flexible in helping us negotiate a contract that suited us and it was agreed without any hassle. Other letting agents I've used in the past have been more difficult about non-12 month leases. He was also particularly helpful in letting us arrange wifi engineers to sort out the wifi before we moved in and scheduling inventory checks to suit us. Really good experience.

Fortnum & mason, gin & tonic, bangers & mash. At Foxtons Camden we got Oliver and Visar, and what a stroke of luck that was. Their combined availability and expertise ensured all calls were answered and all requests met. With major effort on all sides, we managed to get rapid completion (even with Camden Council's efficiency challenges) in six weeks. The Foxtons guys were particularly strong in having a good overview of the local market along with detail on some of the dynamics and issues. I appreciated two things in particular. The first is they have access to a host of wraparound services: mortgage brokers, insurance advisers, lawyers and so on. This moved things along and was helpful in not having to sift through websites and professional pitches. The second is they coached the sale and kept it on track. Communication was excellent, professionalism was high, and the determination to get this over the line was evident. You need this when buying a property. It truly is one of the most stressful life events but the solidarity from the Foxtons team, always grounded in reality and pragmatism, was very welcome. I recommend them wholeheartedly. There's hardly any of that slightly fast and shiny image estate agents are renowned for, and they've got the highest concentration of Hermes ties in NW1. If you're buying or selling then it's good to have Foxtons Camden on your team.

Sam Burke managed to get an offer on my flat from the first viewers to see it, within a week of it going on sale. He negotiated the offer upwards to a level he knew I would accept, which was only 5% below the asking price. Then came the Brexit referendum, when the buyers became nervous and were considering pulling out. With Joseph Blackett, together they pushed my sale through and renegotiated the price at just 1% lower, to secure the deal. Due to solicitor delays the deal took a long time to complete, but all the way it was handled skillfully and professionally by Sam and Joe. Most importantly, they were responsive at all times via their mobiles, something that many other agents are not. I believe Sam managed to win the buyers' confidence through his genuine, detailed understanding of the area (which is not Camden) the community and what it is like to live there. He persuaded the buyers (from Camden) that they could see themselves living there, enjoying the whole lifestyle not just the property. This is excellent salesmanship. I have worked with Foxtons many times over the years and I am fastidious about the handling of a sale.
