We found a great flat to rent in Primrose Hill with John D Wood. Luke, our agent, has been very helpful in our research. As we came from France, the process to rent was not obvious for us but Luke has always been available and quick to answer our questions. One good point, the forms and papers to rent a flat can be exchanged by e-mail and the final signature has been provided online, which allows a lot of flexibility, especially when all this is done from abroad.

I just wanted to post how helpful the staff at John D Wood in Primrose Hill have been with letting out my property. I had a recent incident when the smoke alarm went off in my apartment because the battery was flat. This created an annoying bleeping sound which could be heard by my neighbors. As I live in the US, and my tenant was away, Harriet Stickland and another colleague brought in a ladder from one of their homes and went to the flat to change the battery, and I wasn't paying them a management fee. I can't thank them enough for their help. A great team.

I was one of John D. Wood's most persistent/annoying potential clients, casually looking at properties to both rent and buy for over a year. I got to know almost every employee through the process, and throughout, the were patient, kind, and professional, and . When we finally and suddenly were in a position to look more seriously, John D. Wood had the most promising properties (note: they have the "carriage" trade of the neighborhood; though not a true monopoly, the have the best properties at reasonable prices and are known to be extremely professional because they have figured out Primrose Hill's neighborhoody feel and really get to know people.) We found our beautiful garden flat through them and each step of our move was smoothly and professionally handled. Throughout the negotiation process, I felt like they somehow represented both our own and our landlord's best interests. Too, I got to know all of their contractors, and even the rare breed of inventory clerk had the same kind, professional--even funny--qualities. Once moving in, our dishwasher was replaced within three days by their management service. Overall, an excellent experience - I recommended them to our last landlord for whom they achieved results and would recommend them to anyone looking to move to Primrose Hill. Update after living in the property for a year (our experience has gone from 5 to 1 stars): the letting/sales office is fabulous, but if there is even a mention of the property being managed by John D. Wood, run, don't walk, the other way. We have had Kellie Gissing with John D. Wood manage our property, and she has been horrendous: we've endured damp proofing, two months of post-construction, and now a power outage. We have been homeless, without heat or hot water, and continually sick for three months with a newborn and a toddler and the property management office has *never* followed through with needed works or let us know how things were progressing without us following up with them multiple times. If I didn't do something, it didn't get done - why they were being paid, I don't know. After no heat in half our house for the three coldest months of the year, I finally had to find a contractor to do it myself. I could not make them care that my babies were freezing, sick, and having problems breastfeeding because of their poor property management. They even avoided my calls while homeless to find out when we could get back into the property with a five week old. Total and abysmal nightmare. This while living in a property that we actually love. p.s. their poor property management also cost our landlords thousands of pounds, too. p.p.s. Final update: I just upped the rating to three stars. After our landlords fired them and we moved out, and several employees later, I had the privilege of working with a Caroline. She was professional and prompt in returning our deposit, mail, and (silly me) light fixture after being out of the flat for a bit. Finally, they improve at managing. Unfortunately, that didn't make up for the months of pain, but I left the relationship on an upswing! Still rent and especially buy your house from them, but be leary of the being managed by them!

I came to her looking to downsize into a flat from a huge 5 bedroomed house after a dreadful divorce. I didn’t want to be there and found fault with everything ever other estate agent found me.
