We had taken a property on rent through John Payne and had a good 2 years at the same place. John Payne had been professional right from the start. They were extremely responsive and explained to us the process that we would need to follow upfront. This put us at ease as we knew exactly what to expect and when, especially since this was our first time renting in the UK. Once we moved in, the property management team took over seamlessly. Our property manager, Katherine Bailey, was extremely helpful and responsive, even during these covid times. During our move out, Katherine was very professional in ensuring we are kept well informed and in a timely manner, while understanding our situation and suggesting the best option to help us out. This really put us at ease and made sure we could plan our moving out well.

Sue Denny was absolutely fantastic with helping me all the way through the tricky sale of my flat (cladding issues & a completion date that fell through the first time). We used John Payne to sell our flat in Greenwich, completing in March 2021. We found the service to be very professional. Matthew valued our flat and we felt he was articulate, professional and fair when discussing our prospects. Ben was our estate agent, and he was very diligent and responsive throughout. We were not having much luck with the well-known "purple" provider and so canvassed around a few estate agents in Greenwich and the quality is unsurprisingly very varied, from the wheeler-dealer types, to the lack of communication types or the quite frankly extortionate types. John Payne was none of these. From a very good start to communication channels with Matthew who was courteous, friendly and punctual on coming to the flat to discuss and offering material to look over, we knew JP would be high up on our list of agents to use. Once we committed to them, Sue Denny took over and within 2 days had a prospective viewing which happened to be our buyer. We waited all of a week to sell the flat whereas the purple provider was much longer and less successful overall. Essentially you pay for what you get and I will admit to being wary of estate agents in the past but JP and in particular Sue were superb. Sue is of course very experienced, knowledgeable and extremely proactive but has also never come across as pushy, over-eager or one-sided; in essence the perfect person to take the reins of a stressful situation in anyone's lifetime moreover in the thick of a pandemic! From the initial meeting, the team were efficient and gave us good practical advice in terms of price and how to market the property. The team used their extensive knowledge of buyers interested in the area to provide us with credible interested parties, and viewing times were communicated early to us and arranged so that there was as little disruption as possible. In particular though we were especially happy with the service once a sale had been agreed. This is often the part which people overlook - the JP team acted as central point dealing with surveyors, solicitors and mortgage brokers, as well as communicating with other selling agents in the chain. Whilst there were a lot of hiccups and delays along the way with the conveyancers, buyer's broker and lender the whole process was very well held together by Sue Denny at John Payne. Sue took ownership of the end to end propery transaction engaging both converyancers, the mortage broker, the other estate agents and underlying parties. She and her staff were able to provide emergency access to the property when I was absent and even arrange for last minute removalists on the day of completion when the firm I had commissioned failed to show.
