I really rate Lanes Sales and Lettings, their staff are helpful, friendly and efficient. I've rented 2 different properties from them (over 12 years in total) and every issue or simple repair which has needed attention has got sorted very quickly. Never had any issues with their on-site contractors either, who have been very professional and got the jobs done quickly.

Rented with lanes for almost 6 years. Had issues in the house, as you do over that time, but never had an issue with the way things were dealt with. Always helpful, kept us up to date and even accommodated us when we just bought a dog home!! Dealt with Amber mainly over the years and can’t speak highly enough of her. However all the staff were helpful. We finally bought our own house and asked to leave our contract early, again supported us through this and made it as straight forwards as possible.

I rented with Lanes, it was the first time I've ever rented a house before so I have nothing to compare them with. But my experience with them was pleasant. I never had any issues, the boiler had trouble at one point and Lanes were quick to get someone out to fix it. I was expecting a load of 'made up' issues when they inspected the house just so they could take a load of the deposit but never had that at all. The communication was always good and they were quick to respond to any questions I had. The rent on the house was quite high but when comparing to others around Milton Keynes, it was actually really good value for money. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 is because the house had a few very minor issues that were just annoying, eg. all the toilet seats being loose.

My wife and I moved from London to MK almost 4 years ago and since then we are renting a flat from Lanes in a nice block in the nicest area of Milton Keynes, just next to the wonderful Caldecotte lake park. Even if in this area the rent is quite pricy, I can tell you that, all during these years, my wife and I had a truly exceptional experience with Lanes, being assisted and supported by them for our means to be stress-free about anything related to the property. The Managing Director David Burchell is not only an excellent and qualified person but also a proper English Gentleman always ready to step up and help with the more complicated things that need to be sorted. The rest of the Lanes team is also great from the Receptionist Amber Corby, to the Lettings Manager Mandi Walsingham and also including the maintenance engineering team. I can honestly say that everybody in Lanes is extremely responsive, does a fantastic job, is always prompt and ready to give good advice shows extensive knowledge and professionality, and focus to deliver a huge help anytime you need making it such a pleasure dealing with them every time. Lastly but not least is also the modern and hi-tech system they use, before to see for the first time the flat I had also a link with a 3d VR video showing the property, which also they use for the tenant's online system reports for any maintenance issue that needs to be taken to their attention, the same thing also for the renewal contract that is all well organised online using the DocuSign portal.

Simon the Director, is always available to sort out any problems or concerns. Giving Lanes 3 out of 5 stars as we've had mixed experiences. We currently let with Lanes and when we began, the process was fairly simple and Joanna dealt with my correspondence and any queries thoroughly. We were quite happy with the service. However, since the middle of January (just over half way through our tenancy) myself and my housemate have been receiving emails prompting us to sign for renewal - with no form of communication (either via email or phone) to ask whether we would like to continue or explain in any detail how the renewal is processed, etc. Every couple of days we would receive this email again, prompting us to renew, but with no attempt made by the agent sending the email to contact us directly to discuss anything. We signed to agree to the renewal and I have recently started receiving more of the 'docusign' messages - this time to sign the renewed tenancy agreement. My housemate, however, did not receive the message so after receiving an 'URGENT - PLEASE SIGN' text message, I emailed requesting a call to discuss. Whilst on the phone to Mandi, the woman who had been named on the emails, I mentioned that I would've preferred to have been contacted via phone regarding tenancy renewal, instead of receiving an impersonal message simply 'prompting' me to renew the agreement. Mandi simply stated that "we have loads of tenants and we don't have time to ring them all, you should expect to be signing documents when renewing a tenancy" and was quite rude and abrupt. Overall, a mixed bag dealing with Lanes, but if I had any feedback it would be that I (personally) would expect to be contacted in a more personal way regarding tenancy renewal (whether by phone or even a personalised email) - every previous experience I have had letting has done this. In addition, perhaps Mandi could consider being a little more polite on the phone! It really doesn't take a lot.
