I contacted Castle Gates when I found myself in a very precarious situation with my first landlord. Their first response was to empathise with me which made me calmer. They later explained their renting process to me which usually takes a few days; because of the necessary background checks that need to be done. Since my situation was a peculiar one, they were willing to speed it up provided I could make all the necessary documents available. The following day, I decided to go to their office to increase my creditability as well as show them the urgency of the matter. I was welcomed warmly and also offered some tea. I was later engaged in a conversation with Michael who took me through a quick introduction of what he required of me before I could get my key. He prepared a form online and sent it via email. I logged on, provided the documents they requested and awaited a confirmation. After a few minutes, the confirmation was done. I made the payment and by evening I was given my keys. Three things stood out for me when it comes to my experience with Castle Estates 1. Excellent communication and empathy 2. Top-notch customer experience 3. We moved into a large semi-detached house in Beeston in September 2019 which had been managed by a previous letting agency and was in a sorry state, including unusable cracked bath and shower and very long list of many other of the basics you’d expect to be working for a rent just south of £1,000 per month. The previous letting agency didn’t manage or maintain the property at all, we know because we spoke with the previous tenants. Emma Rogers at Castle Estates has been a breath of fresh air, she sorted the bath and shower quickly so the house became livable and is currently working diligently through the remaining list. She has been both fair and relentless, advocating the required maintenance with the landlord who had let his property fall into disrepair. We can’t praise Emma enough for her professionalism, ownership and can-do attitude.

As a landlord for over 20 years I have found Castle Estates Lettings to be by far the most professional organisation in letting and maintaining my properties I have in Nottingham and surrounding areas . They have an excellent business culture which reflects in how they deal with both landlords and tenants to ensure any matters are speedily addressed. There appointed contractors arè affiliated members of recognised trade organisations such as Gas safe and the NICEIC to ensure all works carried out are fully compliant and safe.

I consider myself a responsible landlord and the tenants that I have had so far seem happy with the property and the management service. I have been speedily informed by Castle if any problems (eg appliance breakdowns) occur and that has allowed me to take action to solve these quickly, to the satisfaction of the tenants. They are prepared to point out any areas of the property that they consider need attention and, again, I react promptly to this advice. Not all landlords are so quick to react and it is unfair to lay the blame for any delays solely at the feet of the agent.
