I met Andy Thompson at a house we had inherited in 2019 and we discussed all options with regard to the sale as I was reluctant to sell at what I perceived could be a lower price than on the open market. There was no pressure or tantrums (from him) when it was decided to renovate and not use SDL services. After 2 years, and personal circumstances preventing renovation, and the possible emotional turmoil of being a landlord was too much, Andy was instructed to put the house up for auction. Fees explained clearly and options discussed including reserve price. Alex kindly took photos and a 360 degree video, these being shown to me for approval before being included quickly on SDL and Rightmove website. There were lots of viewings and all accompanied by either Andy or Alex, and I had regular updates on the telephone. The day of the Auction was live streamed and I was able to view the actual bidding from my living room whilst drinking coffee and having the odd sweet.The Auctioneer was Rory and he teased as much as possible from thh bidders in a humorous and engaging manner. It sold on the day at a price that was acceptable with almost all the legal fees being paid by the purchaser! Many thanks to Andy, Alex and all at SDL who tool the stress out of the process. Before choosing SDL i was considering using another Auction company but decided to use SDL because i decided they would have more local knowledge relating to my property. The service from SDL was great all the way through the process. To start with Alison liaised with me regarding the setting up and Marketing of the property on the SDL Website. Robert one of the auction managers then called and discussed the sale with me at length.
