I still remember the first day when I walked into the Chancellors Headington office a year ago. Being a stranger to the town, looking for a place to rent for a wife and 3 years old son, not familiar with the area, I had no idea where to start and walking into the Chancellors was one of the best decisions I have ever made. A Lovely lady called Olivia welcomed me and took my details and requirements, then found me a perfect matching flat on the same day. And a year later, when I decided to buy a first home, of course I contacted the Chancellors as I had no issues what so ever with this flat. A very professional gentleman Alex Bradley helped me above and beyond to find a dream home. Alex has a full of local knowledge such as catchment area for good schools which was a very important matter for us as Joseph was going to school soon. We are in the process of buying a house in Oxford and have been working with Alexander Bradley from Chancellors Headington. He has been very helpful every step of the way so far. We have had to get into the property a few times to show it to builders and kitchen suppliers and he was willing to wait with us for an extra 45 minutes when one of them said he was running late. Alex is very easy to get a hold of by phone. There were a couple of occasions when he did not respond to our emails as quickly as we would have liked but this was during a very busy time in the property market in Oxford (with the added Covid craziness) so it was all very understandable. Alex is also quite knowledgeable, even in areas that are not within his expertise (sales). He was able to give us advice on many different things and we were very happy about that in addition to his help on everything sales-related.

I am basing the 5 star rating on Ciara Flaherty's services. She was excellent from start to finish, helping us find a house, supporting us throughout the process, and making sure that the purchase was completed properly. This was a complicated transaction because of some extenuating circumstances related to the house, but Ciara went above and beyond to make sure that the sale took place in the best possible way. A note to other potential buyers working with Chancellors', DO NOT use their "in-house" mortgage and solicitors services! I switched my mortgage advisor mid-way through the process, but made the mistake of staying with their Conveyancing team/Solicitors, and I regret it immensely. They were extremely slow or outright unresponsive to emails, which led to significant unnecessary delays. Once again, Ciara stepped up to liaise with the solicitors to get things done, but it was a cumbersome process, as I would have expected the solicitors to both communicate well and to speed up the process. As such, while I recommend Chancellors for properties, I would strongly advise against using their support teams.

Ive bought through Chancellors before, but buying an unusual construction, which is an HMO, into a company structure is about as difficult as it comes. Angela Lessani was fantastic. She kept the whole process moving quickly and found me a mortgage broker who could do it, a builder who was excellent, and kept both myself and the vendor informed and happy throughout - even when the HMO license ran out partway through the sale process and solicitors were less than efficient, Angela kept it going!

But Angela is an extraordinarily persistent person: she kept in touch to periodically ask how it was going. But, an offer came in almost immediately, then another, then another. It seems to me that Chancellors must operate an excellent filter system; keeping time wasters away. As it was approaching the end of the year I figured it would be quite difficult to find anyone before Christmas and their large client base would give me the best chance. Well within 6 hours of confirming their appointment they showed the first client round, and within 4 days 20 people had viewed the Property. All of this before the property had even gone on the website. I had a couple of offers by then but decided to wait until at least the property was on the web. By the following Monday (6 days after I had instructed Chancellors) I had 3 firm offers. They sat me down and impartially went through the pro’s and con’s of all three and helped me to come to a decision. Lucia Giacoponello was my account manager and at every stage of the reference checking and contract creation process she kept me informed, chased me up in the politest manner for the obligations I had. She was happy to fit in with my schedule and I never felt like I had to wait ‘in line’ to get seen. The move went very smoothly, I am very happy with the tenant as I hope they are with the house, and after a few months of renting now, Chancellors still keep me informed of payments made to my account with professional statements easily accessible through E-Mail and online. All in all the whole process has been very smooth and stress free thanks largely to Lucia and the team that support her. Dear All, I didn't have the best experience at Chancellors to begin with but that changed when I spoke with Alex. When I phoned to ask for information on some other properties Alex Zarecky answered the phone and I can honestly say he has changed my opinion about the company (I was giving them one last try before giving up). We're moving to Oxford from the US and had a short window where we were in town to look at places to rent. We contacted a number of letting agencies and looked all over town and ended up taking a place in Headington through the Headington Chancellors Office. Catherine helped me to update some details on the contract in short notice. She made the amendments very quickly and ensured the contracts were exchanged smoothly. She is willing to give up her personal time to ensure all the relevant work is completed. I still cannot believe receiving a call at 8:30pm on a Friday night from Catherine who was telling me that everything is going well and documents will be with you first thing in the morning on Monday. She is a great employee to have. Jessica Potter from Oxfordshire Management team has impressed me hugely. She is the third person from this team following up my property. She is definitely the best one by far. I am a very detail person and love tracking everything using spreadsheets (I know, it is a little sad). I always send Jessica a list of questions which she is always able to follow up on and provide an update as soon as she can. Whenever work is required to be done at the property, Jessica can provide a few quotations in short notice and explain to me what are the differences. She is very patient and organised. She is a great asset to any employer. Paul Robinson from Expert Services team did a very good job ensuring all work are compliant to any health and safety rules. Paul is good at keeping me up to date if there is any changes. One point to note here: I always accept the quotation from one engineer – Richard Ward. This is because Richard Ward and his partner Semi are extremely efficient in providing quotation. They are always contactable and willing to answer any relevant questions. One of their strengths (out of many) is that they are very good at prioritising work to be carried out. Another strength (again, out of many) is that the quality of work is at a very high standard. Richard Ward plays quite a big part of my decision making of using Chancellors again for the second year.

Our agent was Faisal and from the get go he was more than helpful to us. He is extremely polite, down to earth and supportive. I believe Faisal is fairly new to the business, however, he is very knowledgable and was extremely helpful in finding us our first flat. Even out of office hours Faisal communicated fully with us and supported us through each and every process. As well as being professional Faisal was not at all intimidating; as we found other places could be. We are a very young couple so most places appeared judgemental towards us but Faisal had no preconceptions whatsoever. He was very genuine towards us - and would always give us a message before ringing us if he wanted to speak to us. We felt this was very respectful (we found some places have a reputation of bombarding us with calls and trying to show us places out of budget - this was never the case with Faisal and the team.
