I cannot praise Guy Simmons of Fine & Country Oxford highly enough. The man is nothing short of a miracle worker. We had an incredibly tight deadline to purchase a property he was handling for the seller and he proved as good as his word when he promised to get the deal wrapped up in the narrow timeframe we were facing. He basically turbocharged the whole process, liaising with the various solicitors and agents in the chain and driving everything forward at a pace. He was always on hand, never failed to return a call and kept us up to speed the whole time. He even offered to drive a 7.5-ton lorry for us when it looked as though there was going to be a problem finding a firm to help us move out of our old home! What more can you ask of an estate agent? Tristan helped us sell our Oxford grade 2 listed thatch cottage. He really impressed me with Fine and Country’s modern approach to social media and progressive marketing. Having met several other agents at Hamptons, Savilles, Knight Frank etc I found their strategy light years ahead of the ideas I was hearing from these more traditional agencies. We decided to take the leap and incredibly even after one false start, exchanged within a couple of months on a property that had previously sat on the market for 7. Throughout this process Tristan’s enthusiasm and dedication was tireless. He even came around to see me one Sunday evening when we were having a particularly tough week! He was the only agent in the chain who drove everyone the whole way from bottom to top, it almost felt like he was their agent too. Honestly rarely has anyone impressed me this much, I was ultimately happy to pay the slightly higher commission, Fine and Country really were worthwhile. Tristan took the house on after a relatively lacklustre performance by another agent. The difference from the start was amazing. He was efficient and professional and showed real interest in the house and our situation, and didn't sugar coat any bad news. The video and brochure produced were excellent and the assistance we received getting the house ready was just right. Then, of course, the pandemic struck and the whole thing went quiet but Tristan kept plugging away and doing his best to keep the sale alive. He maintained a positive spirit despite some hard times we gave him and in the end it all went through well. The cost for F&C is a little higher than the other agents, but we both felt we were getting a better service and as a result and we had more confidence in them than any agent we have used in the past.
