I have dealt with The Home Agency for years because the lettings manager, Phil, is excellent. I like the fact that unlike other lettings agents, Phil works quickly and efficiently to let my properties as well as providing all paperwork in a timely manner. His communication skills with both my potential tenants and myself (The landlord) are excellent. I would highly recommend.

We have had a positive experience with the Home Agency during our 2 and a half year tenancy. We really liked our flat (we only moved because we were finally in a position to buy our own home) and if we ever experienced any issues at all, the Home Agency and our landlord dealt with them quickly and efficiently. Our privacy was always respected and any inspections or visits were agreed in advance (of which there were very few). Our deposit was returned in full and in a reasonable timeframe. Phill and the Home Agency team were always very friendly and helpful whenever we were in contact with them. In conclusion, I would highly recommend the Home Agency to anyone looking to rent.

My partner and I have recently moved out of a flat managed by the Home Agency and only have good things to say. We found Phil and the team very professional and responsive and when we needed a minor problem sorted we always got someone that day and the problem was swiftly dealt with. We cleaned the flat before we left and received our full deposit back a few days after moving out- which was a nice surprise because we have been ripped off by other agencies before! All in all a very positive experience and I would definitely rent with the Home Agency again.

I have just moved out from the property that I rented via The Home Agency for almost 7 years. I couldn’t say a bad word about those guys. They were always very respectful of my space. They never bothered me with too many inspections (after they established that property was well looked after). If there was any issues, they would normally have someone come round withIn 24-48h, adjusting to my working hours too. Over the years they treated me well and haven’t done what many agencies do: increase the price every time they possibly can. Of course there was rent increase but I was there 7 years..I don’t think this was unreasonable. My deposit was returned without any delays. I had wonderful experience renting with The Home Agency Southampton. The process was quick and straightforward, without unnecessary paperwork, fees and formalities, as I have experienced with other Agencies. The guys were very friendly, helpful, accurate and always available to assists. My name is Salvador HR and I was a nurse in the UHS for a few years, I am not local, and have no conflict of interest. I was a tenant from 2017 to 2020 and they never gave me any issues, I don’t get the bad reviews in here, they seem to come from problematic people or some unlucky situations. These guys are honest and straight forward, they explained in advance what was acceptable and what not, and what needed to be paid if broken. When the time to pay the deposit came, they only asked for a little amount to fix a couple things we broke, something I found reasonable (and that is not their choice, there is a landlord that asks for those things). Phill was the only person I talked to in 3 years and he knew everything about our flat and our needs. A really diligent guy, always available. I guess the reviews are either from problematic people or “complicated situations”, but I never had an issue with them, and we went through many many repairs (not their fault, we had issues with a boiler that was a bit old), I changed my contract for an extra person to live with me, and they never ever had a problem with all this.

Highly recommended! We were renting a city centre apartment with the Home Agency for almost 2 years and the whole team were always very professional and helpful. Phill made the initial formalities and checks as simple as possible. Throughout the tenancy, all my emails and calls were dealt with quickly and nothing was ever a problem. Tear and wear repairs that I was informing about and requesting were all organised with no issues. No unnecessary visits - just the contract renewals and repairs and also no problems with the deposit at the end of the tenancy. I want to say that I have had a lot of negative experiences with people who claim to be experts or agents but Home agency Southampton has changed my perception and perspective that there truly are people who are professionals in this field. Not only was their process smooth and easy as they are indeed easy going people, but they know how to take care and manage of both parties ( Landlord and tenant) . I can speak for my landlord because i know for sure he is pleased as well I must say it was quite emotional leaving but it was only because it was for the better as I moved into my own property. Having purchased a property through the Home Agency and now using their full Management Services as overseas landlords we can highly recommend them. Our efficient dealings with their sales Manager Phil whilst viewing and purchasing of the property made our first time buyers of a UK property easy. As a result of their efficiency we decided to use them to manage our property and, again, we have been impressed with their helpful attitude. A good example of this was that we needed to replace a fridge and freezer very quickly before a new tenant moved in. Having tried to purchase locally online before the tenant was in situ, without success, the Home Agency came to our rescue and recommended a small private electrical company who supplied and delivered the goods in time. We also had a small plumbing problem in the bathroom and were delighted with the speed that the Home Agency found someone to fix it. Very helpful for us being overseas landlords. While they were a bit slow with stuff sometimes generally we had no problems, and when we were moving out they were very courteous with letting me know that they were doing viewings. UPDATE: After 2 years in the flat we have had no trouble whatsoever. The fees are clearly stated in the tenancy agreements and we have been charged exactly as expected (ie. contract renewal fees). The guys have been friendly and don't expect a spotless property upon inspection (for each time you renew) - just a reasonable state. In my experience, treat them fairly and you'll be treated in exactly the same manner. PREVIOUSLY: I have just placed a deposit on a flat with the Home Agency and as of yet, have nothing bad to say. They have been professional and courteous, and have kept me informed regarding other viewings on the flat. So far so good, will update as time goes on.
