I have never experienced such fantastic service from a letting agents like I have here. From the get go, I received excellent service from Zoe with regards to getting references set up and sorted. She was there for every query and question I had and was always do friendly. Amy then sorted my actual move and the information she prepared was exceptionally thorough and helpful, with the likes of bin day timetables printed our for our street... I’ve never even done that for myself!!! Once again, any questions or queries were answered immediately and with such a lovely manner. And I could have stayed with Rebecca all day at key handover day!! What a lovely woman and again, so very helpful. Safe to stay this was a 5 star experience. 3 fantastic women representing a fantastic firm. Thank you for everything. We are all very very happy in our new abode!

We have recently used Letters to move into York. The process was very easy! Compared to the other agencies in York they were cheaper, more professional and helped us when we moved in by helping us with our utility bills! We had two viewings, both of which were great and the staff that showed us around were very knowledgeable and they took on board what we had to say. After our second viewing we felt very confident using the agency and moved in. The check in was very easy and even now we receive emails from them asking how we are. This shows they really do care about there tenants! Overall, the best agency i have used and we will be definitely be using them again! We look forward to the months ahead with you Letters!!

We had the pleasure of moving in, taken care of by the brilliant Amy. She made us feel really at ease during the move in, and went through all the relevant paperwork at our speed so we understood it all. She’d also taken care of our queries over the agreement, going through it line by line so we felt comfortable and it really made a difference. She gets 5-Stars straight away! In the interest of a balanced review, I will say that Letters of Distinction appear to have a couple of back-of-house issues. First off, they’re very very expensive. Now moving house always is, but the fees were higher than any others we saw. Also, there were mistakes in our guarantor agreement and when they were brought up, our guarantor was told that they wouldn’t be changed because it would take too long to process in the legal department. It does make us wonder what we’ve paid all the money for in fees if they can’t get the paperwork right. Overall the experience of moving in was great. The day went without a hitch and everything was completely clear and friendly. Thanks Amy!

I am a new tenant with Letters of Distinction and so far my partner and I have had a great experience! The professionalism can be seen throughout the multiple employees that I have spoken with and have shone throughout the entire company. Any problems that we had, when we first moved in, were quickly resolved and as a result of this, showed me that the letting consultants genuinely care for their tenants and the reputation of the agency. We have personally had a fantastic experience with Rebecca, who has been very attentive and has ensured that any issues were resolved quickly, to a high standard and at a time that suits our schedules.

Have had a really good experience so far. Extremely professional company and the staff are so lovely and helpful! I was shown around by Sam who was very professional and approachable. Amy took care of the signing and key collection and she made everything really clear and was also really lovely and approachable! I can tell they really care about their clients. I noticed upon moving in that my oven and fridge weren’t working, it’s been less than a week and my oven is already fixed and a new fridge has been ordered! Great friendly and professional staff who worked very quickly to arrange a viewing of a flat and then assisted with completing the required paperwork to move me in to my new flat within a week. Understanding that they represent the landlord, they have good safeguards in place to protect myself from any potential issues with the property. The flat was clean and presentable and I would like to point out that their maintenance team are superb. Renting through Letters of Distinction I've lived in 8 different rental properties over the last 7 years using different letting agencies throughout this time and I have to say Letters of Distinction are up there with my favourites! They made everything run as smoothly as possible and went out of their way to ensure the process was particularly stress free at a difficult time. I've rented through many letting agents over the past 6 years and I have never felt compelled to write a review of a letting agent, until now. My first impression of this letting agent was through setting up my first viewing for a property. I was greeted by a lovely lady, very nice and cheery, she made it clear that she wanted to help me the best way she could. Also she made it seem like she had all the time in the world for me, not like other agents who want to get rid of you asap to get another punter on the phone straight away. On viewing our first property we met a letting agent called Sam Walker. Again, first impressions were great, nice guy and down to earth. Treated us as equals, not speaking down to us nor was he intrusive with our viewing (like previous letting agents we've viewed with in York). Once we got talking to Sam he ascertained our needs, and we set up some more viewings. He was very considerate and understood what we were needing and remembered those needs for the next viewings, to which we got talking about furniture plans/room layouts giving us the vision we needed to see ourselves in our new home. Each process was a breeze and upon collecting our keys at our new home, it became more apparent how stress free and easy it was. Amy was there to greet us and talk through our agreement and the rest of the logistics. She was answered all queries we had and had a good natter about everything, making us feel right at home. When Sally met us at the property she was happy for us, but also honest about the flat. When we applied for the flat, she and Zoe were amazing - they were calm when we weren't, they were happy for us when our application was successful, and it was just the most delightful interaction. Even when I had an issue with my part of the paperwork, Zoe had so much patience for me and helped to talk me through what was happening, and what I needed to do - a lifesaver! And Rebecca has been brilliant, finalising everything, going over the contract with us, right down to giving us the keys to our new home. It's been lovely, from start to finish! Nothing was hidden from us, everyone was honest and approachable, and just a pleasure to interact with. We rented from Letters of Distinction as managing agents over the past three years. They really were a breath of fresh air compared to some of the agents we have dealt with in the past. Dealing with maintenance issues was easy and the team apply common sense to dealing with any queries (whilst being thorough in making sure everyone's clear on the detail). Checkout was easy and relatively hassle-free, with no crafty tricks used to hang on to our deposit.

Used LOD for the last 2 years, always impressed. Online portal makes raising issues really easy as well. Feels odd dealing with a letter agent that's feels like their keeping up with technology. Amy was incredibly friendly and make the move in process very easy. Sam handled everything before the move in flawlessly, do recommend.

Friendly, professional, and efficient, with none of the hassle you sometimes experience with letting agents. Their whole system is streamlined in ways other letting agents I have worked with are not. For example they ensured that you always dealt with the same person which meant who you talked to would always be aware of the situation and could quickly resolve any problems. They were very good at ensuring you always knew what was going on and provided services, such as helping to arrange utilities, which simplified the whole moving experience. I would definitely used them again.

Was with these guys for two years roughly as a tenant and they were generally quite good responding to repair requests etc. Then at the end they tried to rinse me for cash out of the deposit (as all letting agents do to be fair, hence stuck with 3 stars). If they try and charge you a "dilapidation fee" or "administration fee" out of your deposit you should contest this and get your money back as it's not enforceable, even though it's in the contract. Just got them to give me back the money after they made me jump through all the hoops of deposit protection.

I can only give a fair review, the loss of a star is due to one particular member of Letters of Distinction/countrywide. First off, from the main staff there the service was excellent, they were communicative and understanding for the most part when we needed to rejig the moving out dates. However one of their staff probably wonders why someone can get so irate over simply having to call the cleaners to tell them they have to come back because they've missed a bit, I was extremely angry because numerous times we have consulted letters of Distinction, decided what to do then actioned based on what they've said. If im told that any issues with the cleaning and LoD will contact the cleaner, if im told that my end date has been moved forward as stated and signed on notice letter and if I'm told that the checkout appointment is in the week after I've moved out, then this is what I will go by, this particular member of staff didn't care that I'd been notified differently and evidently wasn't reading my emails or communicating with the rest of her team effectively and took a very sort of tough luck stance toward it all with a lack of care is what's really took the biscuit here. Some parts of this country don't have these extremely high reference fees, whilst LoD were competitive with theirs, it's still a lot to pay and you don't pay money for someone to not listen and ignore everything you're saying. Moving in/out is a stressful process and when you're moving to the other side of the country rather than other side of the city it's not just plain sailing getting all dates to click into place, add someone who doesn't really care and when they're essentially holding our money too then it can easily lead to anger and frustration. I'm happy we got the full deposit back and as I say everyone else was brilliant and I'd certainly recommend LoD over say Churchills who were pretty junk all around, if I were to rent in York I would still with LoD just be weary of the one particular person, I'm not going to name names bit if the same stance was taken you'd know who it was. Oh one other thing, if a viewer has cancelled or if someone is going to come for a viewing it's worth making sure you've contacted the occupier there were a few niggles with that but I was pretty flexible so didn't mind.
