Very nice food, the staff were very friendly and the interior decor was nice. You wouldn’t think from the exterior of the restaurant but one of the nicest curries I’ve had. The rice tasted fresh and the curry not greasy at all. Naan was crispy, and I normally like it fluffy but not a big deal. The waiter was really talented, being able to carry all of our plates in one go in his arms. Pricy, but definitely recommend. Well done 8848!

Was recommended to by a friend and took my partner and his parents there. I have never had an Indian so good, and his parents who have been to India on multiple occasions said the food was exactly like it was over there. will 100-percent be back and extremely highly recommend. the only downside was albeit the food was extremely fresh it was a while to wait for it as it was being prepared at that time.

Took my wife and son here for their first visit (my second) on a Christmas day in town. We all had a terrific meal. The food was excellent and so was the service. We even got a wave from the chef through the window next to us that gives a view of the kitchen! My wife wasn't keen on the last 2 Indian restaurants we tried previously but she loved 8848.I reckon it's our new favourite. Will be back soon! 😀👍

A party of 4 booked for a late lunch (3:00pm). Arranged to change to 2:00pm, this was achieved with no problem. We were offered drinks on seating and they arrived promptly. The restaurant was quiet, with plenty staff. Service was helpful and pleasant. The meals chosen starters and main courses were enjoyed by all in our party. The rating is based on the quality of the meals we had (their version of Butter Chicken is a luxurious indulgence) and the relaxed, but helpful and friendly service. I would definately revisit this restaurant.

I ordered a delivery so didn't experience service or the atmosphere. It was like a game of buckaroo in my mouth. Continuously providing a hit of taste endorphins. With every mouthful I was taking I was assured that I hadn't tasted anything as good previously and the high I got in anticipation of the end result just reassuring. The taste, texture and smells coming from the food were delicious, the rice was perfect and the colours were vibrant. Excellent choice

We had an amazing evening at 8848 the other night. Incredibly friendly and attentive staff, amazing food (I had the coconut rice & king prawns dish, and some lentil dahls and naans as sides to share - delicious), great decoration and atmosphere all together. Definitely recommend!

I have only been there once, and I am not an Indian food expert, so cannot compare it properly. The starter is this flatbread (?) with 4 chutneys (?). Tasted the same as ik had in the few other Indian restaurants i have been. I took the chef signature lamb shack. Now i don't know how lamb meat should be, but i read on the internet shack means slow cooked, kind of pulled pork. Well this meat was not soft at all, but tough, hard to get off the bone, much fat etc and bone, not much meat. The sauce/curry with it tasted good, but not very special. But again, i can not compare it much (except when i cook Hello Fresh) I would not choose this dish again.

Been here today with a friend of mine. The interior design is first of all good looking and the sofas are comfortable. I asked the staff what they recommend since I have never been there. They were always very helpful and friendly. The food tasted good and the quantity was fine. Overall I cannot complain. It was a good experience.

One of the best Indian restaurants In Aberdeen. Delicious food and excellent service. Nice modern and subdued surroundings compliment the fresh and aromatic food. I had the Momo Lamb to start and the Daal Bhat Masu (a traditional Nepalese Dinner) and both were cooked to perfection.

Amazing food, & exceptional service! Officially my favorite Indian restaurant in Scotland. My husband & I has the Wok Chili Chicken, & the Scallop starters, then split the Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, & Blue Cheese Naan. Everything was delicious! It was definitely one of the best Butter Chicken sauces we've ever had. I was also pleasantly surprised to see a margarita cocktail on their drink menu. They are my favorite drink, but I'm also very picky about them, so I was even more surprised by how delicious it! I HIGHLY recommend this place!! We will definitely be back again next time we visit.

Visited as part of Aberdeen Restaurant Week. We ate the Tasting Menu which was outstanding. The pre- starter and starters were fantastic combinations of flavours eg tamarind, chilli and so on and styles eg chilli chicken, lamb chop with decorative salads and tasty vegetable puree accompanyments. The main course was served on a large platter with 4 dishes of butter chicken, fish curry, lamb curry and a vegetable curry with a lovely pilau containing cardomon plus a lovely crispy naan. A delightful meal with lots of variety. Will definitely be back to try the normal menu another time.

When we arrived we had our temperature quickly taken and we shown to our table. The food and service is of a very high quality and we all had a very enjoyable meal. My partner and I ordered a takeaway from 8848 and it was first class. It was still piping hot when we got it home and was full of great flavours as is the standard for 8848. I have also eaten at the restaurant previously on a couple of occasions which have always been an enjoyable experience, great customer service and attentive staff. If you have not already I recommend you check them out for yourself.

Great staff, great food, great authentic atmosphere. Celebrated my anniversary with my girlfriend and was given a free toast for the occasion even though I gave a very short notice. Decorations could be a bit better, but overall very satisfied with the experience. Can highly recommend!

Chicken biryani Price: 13,95£ It was about 15.25 when I entered and ordered, the gentlemen directly informed me that it would take approx. 15 min. to prepare my food. (Take away order) as no one else was in the restaurant by that time of the day I had a nice chat with the host/waiter. As said my food was ready within 15 min. It tastes very nice and the portion was big enough. I will recommend it to my colleagues to come along. Thank you for the good fresh food and kindness.

We had a fantastic experience with the family that is 8848, so warm, so welcoming. We were celebrating a birthday and they could not be more attentive without being overbearing. I had a couple weird requirements as I'm receiving chemo treatment at the moment and they were very accommodating. The food was out of this world tasty, good portion sizes (I got a doggie bag for my leftovers) and very good value. Will definitely be revisiting in the future.

Menu has all the usual choices, with a good selection of more specifically Nepalese dishes as well. Don't be put off is it's quiet, that just means you get more attention, and even samples of new dishes!

Had a delicious meal here tonight. It's the second time I have eaten here and will certainly keep coming back and not sure why I left so long between visits. Food was nicely presented and the flavours were all you would hope for. Service was excellent and staff very friendly and attentive but not overly so but obviously had noticed my son (he was treating me)giving me a birthday card and at the end of the meal presented me with a slice of ice cream gateux with a candle on a decorated plate and sang happy birthday. Nice touch.

Excellent wee place. My partner invited me here for my birthday. The table was decorated for my arrival and at the end I received a birthday cake with a sparkler and a "happy birthday" sung by our very sweet waitress and another member of staff. The service received by our waitress was excellent. She was very friendly whilst maintaining a professional manner. The food likewise was excellent. The curries had the expected kick to it (which is great, because I usually find restaurants in Britain underspice their food) and the dips for the poppadoms had some very strong and unusual tastes to them. Would definitely go again!

I was visiting Aberdeen for my maiden trip there. I am generally open to any food forms but after few days, you want to have desi Indian food.. I tried few restaurants abut this one came closest to reality. The restaurant is on union street, quite convenient to locate, get busier after 7:30 pm. Good service, courteous staff..good food quality. It'd help to set the expectation on what you want and they can suggest you what to try from there menu and I ate there 2 times in 10 days that I was in Aberdeen and I wasn't disappointed for sure. Will definitely go back there when I am there next time.

We ordered a takeaway 27th February. The delivery time was stipulated as 35mins. The order took an hour. The delivery driver was ignorant. Didn’t acknowledge me when I answered the door, didn’t look at me said nothing and left. I thought I ordered onion Bhajis but when the order arrived it was mixed pakora, however there were 2 onion Bhajis in the dish. The main course however was very good.

My word - this restaurant is undoubtedly one of the best Indian restaurants that I have ever eaten in. The food was so fresh, so tasty, and perfectly proportioned. Everything from the poppadoms to the Tadka Dahl was just superb. My only gripe is that they haven't got a vegan Naan bread available, but everything else was just brilliant. The staff were very polite and on-the-ball too; I will definitely eat here again in the future.

The food was very good, and the service great. Until a bit later in the evening when it started getting crowded. After the coffee arriving half an hour late due to our server seemingly forgetting us, it took us a bit over an hour to get their attention and actually pay, making it 2 full hours from we finished the mains in until we actually paid. I’m still not sure how I feel about directly being asked to leave a good review on TripAdvisor and tip while paying after that. Anyhow, the place also looks very nice and clean, and the papadums were really good snacks before the starters, way better than those we tried making ourselves.

We go once a week to 8848 restaurant, firstly because we love the food there; you can tell after you try the food that everything is made with good ingredients and with care. It can be spicy to your palate but we always ask how spicy is as well as add or remove any ingredient to the dishes as we prefer. Secondly, the service is the best we have found in Scotland, they are all like family and you can feel it. We feel spoiled every time we go, why go elsewhere for Indian & Nepalese food?

Expensive. Some items tasted very good. Tandoor roti, rice kheer are very good. Thali was decent. The mint chutney/yougurt didn't seem fresh. Vegetables were under cooked in mix veg curry. Panner was hard suggesting it's not fresh paneer. Staff (Vikas) was very nice and friendly.

My wife and I travel from the Peterhead area to eat at 8848. The food is amazing, always very high quality. The kitchen is open plan so you can see the chefs at work. Great selection on the menu. Staff are always very professional yet friendly, always attentive. Absolutly love the place cant recommend it enough! Will be returning again and again and again!

Most certainly one of my most favourite and desired Indian cuisine's there is in and around Aberdeen. There food is absolutely spot on and there services you get from the staff is just 5 Star. You can sit in, and enjoy the pleasant service or you can get a take away, which I think is also good as you get the choice between the too. I would definitely recommend anyone to try this place out, is- pecially if you enjoy Indian food. Myself, I go for the chickin tikka masala, EVERTIME!!
