Reviews of Namaste Delhi
K. B.
I booked this restaurant for my partners birthday. The service was great, all the staff were friendly and welcoming.
The food was incredible, some of the nicest Indian food I've ever had in a restaurant.
Would definitely visit again :)
K. S.
Food was delicious, authentic India flavour. Perfect quantity....
Staff is very well mannered and very friendly.
Best part is the welcome snack and the dips ..
Overall excellent place for a tasty time .🤤
A. S.
The decoration is very pleasant and the staff couldn't be more attentive and helpful. From the dishes I had some were really good but others not as tasty as I am used to in other Indian restaurants. The ambiance was enhanced by live piano music and I surely will give it another chance.

Last week, I went to Aberdeen from London. Not only I had a wonderful time to see the beautiful city, but also lovely Indian food to taste at this restaurarant. The food is amazing, the staff are very welcoming. The atmosphere was calm, clean and relaxing. Hats off to the chef for preparing such a lovely food. I would recommend everybody to go for it.
If I ever come again, I will surely come back again. Good value for money.
Thank you.
s. k.
Awesome experience with very decent food . No extra spice
I. W.
Excellent restaurant, food was lovely, really like tapas style Indian, it is ideal and was super tasty. Only reason it dropped a little was the desserts which were totally average, even though it was sticky toffee pudding and gulab jamin, they were both disappointing but I would thoroughly recommend otherwise.
K. H.
Great food and very friendly staff .
A. V.
Visited here today and was greeted very politely by Tom (manager). He explained their dishes and portions as it was our first time there. We didn't expect the food to be that tasty before visiting however, it was delicious. I'd happily visit again and certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone!!! Thanks Tom for looking after us and was lovely chatting with you. All the best pal..
L. B.
Lovely bright modern dining, starters average, Chilli chicken curry was fantastic. Needs a little more organisation with staff. Side plates removed, drinks slow.
T. W.
Best Indian restuarant we've tried in Aberdeen by a long shot. Liked the small, high quality dishes. Paratha bread was very good. Crisp Kingfisher on tap. Would definitely go back.
S. P.
Been here for the first time yesterday. I have to say that the interior design is quite nice and so is the atmosphere. The waiter is also happy to help out if you have a question or want a recommendation.
The food is furthermore, very good.
However there are also small negatives.
The portions are quite small. I can get a larger portion for almost the same price in e.g Monsoona.
In addition to that they have no raita sauce if you want it and don't give out the warm hand tissues that you are used to get at the end as well as the mint chocolates that you are used to from Indian Restaurants.
Very good food, but lacking a little bit in those other services mentioned
M. A.
This restaurant never disappoints. The quality of the food is beyond belief. Everything is prepared to perfection and the variety of flavours you get to experience is exceptional. It is one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of visiting many times.
C. C.
Absolutely fantastic and sophisticated! And what a place! Very well decorated.
Super friendly staff. The tapas style is perfect for people who like to try different dishes.
The food is awesome. I only wish my stomach was bigger to eat more. Thank you so much!
A. L.
Excellent food that was full of flavour and was well presented in generous portions.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others and was also impressed by the range of options for cooking lessons or similar for birthday parties, hen functions or corporate events.
P. C.
Tapas style means more tastes of different curries. They were tasty with enough heat to be interesting. The waiters were nice but very laid back. The place is "roomy" rather than intimate.
S. R.
We very much enjoyed the combination of tapas, cocktails and Indian food.
Food was well priced, portions ideal and, after 4 or 5 dishes, some rice ans a naan, washed down with some tasty cocktails, we were very happy indeed.
We would highly recommend this restaurant as an alternative to the traditional Indian restaurant where the portions are massive and you go for the one dish. Here you can dabble with a "risky" choice without being left with nothing to eat Haha.
Edit: visited again last night (28/12/21) and still wonderful.
C. C. R.
Ohhhh! Amazing flavors! Seriously, the best Indian food I've had in a long time!
E. O.
I had chicken pakora, garlic naan, prawn moilee and it was lovely.
But the service soured the experience. We were a large group. They were initially very helpful but after our food was served it was very difficult to get the servers' attention. I had to wave and say excuse me very loudly just to get them to come to our table to refill our water jugs. In most places when you ask for a refill they will automatically refill the jugs on the whole table. But that wasn't the case. Also they don't split the bill, so we had to bring cash.
J. B.
Incredible Indian food, with service to match. I particularly like the tapas option on the mains so you can try a few things. Thank you Namaste 🙏
P. C.
Lovely food. Lots of veggie options. Somethings I have never seen before.
L. M.
The food is high quality and delicious, with a wide range of both tapas and main course portions available. The staff are welcoming and friendly.
I had the Indian Railway Lamb and would recommend.
M. G.
Beautiful ambience and tasty food! We love their chilli chicken. The only thing we would like is to see some more quantity for the price.
K. V.
Scrumptious Indian food in tapas style and variety of delightful cocktails. Wonderful presentation, great work Namaste Delhi. Thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday evening.
R. G.
Absolutely gorgeous restaurant, food was fab and the staff were lovely
G. W.
Superb- service, food, decor etc etc. In fact can’t fault this Indian restaurant. 5 stars.
A. C.
We had an amazing dinner it was 1 of the best Indian meals we had I would highly recommend it to anyone. Definitely go back and was very reasonable priced.
C. D.
One of the best Indian meals I've ever had. Incredible variety of flavours plus a gorgeous, modern take on some old favourites. Excellent vegetarian/vegan menu and impeccable service. First class all round.
L. T.
Very nice. Lovely flavours.
Great service.
Would definitely go back
S. P.
We are from Scotland and just on vacation from US, this place is a little gem, we have tried many different Indian restaurants but by far this has been the best we have eaten at, service was great and food was fantastic, ambience was great, all the best to Namaste for the future, we hope you have a successful business in Aberdeen.
b.
Went to this restaurant with family 2 days ago during our road trip. I would definitely go back. The staff were super friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was amazing. It was such a relief to get out of Edinburgh out of lockdown and see such welcoming service. Well done guys. Thank you for such a lovely meal. Ali.
S. T.
Good Food. Very nice and helpful staff.
They were very courteous and the live performance from Little Star Sofia was amazing. Thank you for a lovely dinner guys.!!
S. G.
Amazing food just amazing! Great vegetarian and vegan options
p. h.
Food was excellent I enjoyed it so much. Good service
F. w.
We were looking for a restaurant for a while and came accross this wee gem. We were blown away with the greetings, the food and the waiters. All so loving and kind. Made littler portions for me and my daughter as we were not too hungry. Then brought more for my daughter as she throughly enjoyed so much. Partner had one of the best curries he ever tasted. Food service was phenomenal but what made the night was the kind waiters who took time to speak to us and accomadate to our needs. Defo a wee hidden star in the centre and should be extremely proud. Will 100% visit again when we come back. Thank you so much namaste ❤
J. H. L.
One place to go for Indian food in Aberdeen. Great atmosphere and very good food.
H. P.
Really great meal, good portions, we had fish pakora which was very good. A real feast for 2 and perfect coffee after.
P. P.
Hands down the best Indian Restaurant that I have been to outside India ( have been to 30 plus countries across 5 continents).
They serve tapa style dishes which are absolutely delightful and authentic. The flavors are spot on, the ambience is lovely and the staff is warm and attentive. It is one of those restaurants that does justice to the culinary exquisiteness that Indian food is!
Namaste Delhi is India on a plate.
If you happen to be in Aberdeen, don't be put off by its inconspicuous location. It is easy to miss it unless you look for it.
An absolute gem! Unmissable!
S. V.
I was staying locally with a colleague and we both fancied a curry. Thankfully, Namaste Delhi was a short walk away. Getting a high Google and TripAdvisor rating we decided to give it a go. This was a BRILLIANT decision. It was raining outside but the welcome was very warm.
The menu is slightly different from a ‘normal, British’ menu, as such I asked the waiter to modify one of the dishes, he recommended not adding more heat to a cream based dish and then the breakdown of the reasons. It was excellent to have someone who really knew their stuff. The main dish he recommended was superb with exactly the right amount of spicy heat.
The only let down was I was after the Gulab jamun as a dessert, but they didn’t have any in stock, I had to make do with the sticky toffee pudding, served with ice cream this was superb.
Highly recommended.

My partner and I visited Namaste Delhi on a Thursday night and were pleasantly surprised to find this absolute gem of a place! Everything starting from decor and music to food and service is outstanding. Special thanks to our waiter, Toms, who made our evening delightful.
I go to India every year and always miss it when I'm not there. I have been unsuccessfully trying to find a place that would serve authentic Indian food in the UK, but Namaste Delhi finally ended my search - the taste is very close to North Indian food.
We are definitely coming back!
However, there are two points I'd like to suggest:
It would be great if the menu had clearly marked Vegan dishes AND served Chai.
S. Y.
Beautiful surroundings and always great food. Never disappointed. Love the tapas indian dishes if not so hungry or love to share and try different dishes.
K. R.
Lovely staff . Good service. Bartender was kind enough to make us non alcoholic drinks which were off the menu and it was absolutely delicious. Also one of the few Indian restaurants in Aberdeen where the food tastes very authentic.
J. G.
Visited early January 2019.
A newly opened Indian tapas restaurant.
Very nice interior, very clean and with good decor.
The menu is just right with a double sided sheet, not too much to choose from, which we like.
The menu has good information regarding each dish, and also has a good drinks menu.
We started with broken poppadoms and 3 spice dips which were just enough.
We ordered 2 dishes each, with rice and nan bread..(chilli nan delicious).
The food in general was great...very tasty..
and we left most satisfied..
Only thing that was bad was service..had a 45 min wait for food on table..looked short staffed for a Friday night.
The head waiter needs to lighten up as well, as he looked as if he didn't want to be there.
But apart from that, the food delicious and we will return.
C. M.
Great experience here, tapas but Indian style! The portion sizes are good and the tapas make it easy to sample different dishes. the cocktails are very tasty as well. Staff are very friendly. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Can't wait to try more dishes! Food was so good didn't even manage photos 🙈
g. r.
Best place , excellent Indian music just remembered my hometown💫💫💫💫💫
a. b.
Ambience and vibe is good but food taste is average. We had ordered northern indian dishes like daal makhani, paneer lababdar which were average with no Authentic Indian taste. We also ordered breads as naan and paratha which were ok. Overall an average experience and prices were higher compared to few other Indian restaurants near by which offer good ambiance and better taste..
s. h.
Great food, great service and will definitely return.
K. H.
This was definitely the best meal I had while visiting Aberdeen and probably the best Indian restaurant I've been to so far. Not only is the food very tasty, but the service is even better! The waiters knew the menu very well and could answer all questions. Even the manager took his time to come over and check that everything was fine. I would highly recommend this place!
V. K.
This was my 2nd visit to this restaurant. Welcoming and stunning ambience. Food was served quick and best authentic indian restaurant in Aberdeen. Lot of options for vegetarian and vegan. Family loved the food. Will definitely visit again.
R. K.
Had a voucher for meal and drinks andit was incredible value. The menu for drinks and food is very reasonably priced. The tapas is between £5 and 7 each and we had 2 each so good value. The restaraunt itself is very well presented. The staff were very good.
Over all very nice night with lovely food. I recommend this place and i will be back.
S. R.
As you enter the restaurant you can tell straight away that this is not your standard Indian restaurant but would the food live upto high expectations. Fear not, both the food and service were superb. I was a bit hesitant whether the 'tapas' portions would satiate us. With the manager's explanation of the menu and portion size the eight dishes along with rice and nan was more than enough for the four of us. Most importantly I could not fault any of the dishes and what a pleasure to have Indian food without excessive use of oil. The standout dish for me was the Aubergine Bharta.
R. M.
The food was lovely, such a shame the service didn't match it. Walking in we were a table of 8 it was a Groupon deal, emailed 3 weeks previously to say although the deal was for two tables of 4 would they mind sitting as all together didn't hear back but not a problem or so I thought, so we arrived I explained I emailed earlier asking for us to be seated together, so he sat us at two tables back to back, so we asked if we could push them together (plenty room) was met with a very abrupt no that's not allowed! He then talked through the menu again with attitude we ordered but some of the dishes we picked we more than the £5.95 limited allowed so was told we needed to pay extra, I responded with yes sure not a problem, he snapped yes well I'm telling you, just so so rude. Can't fault the food really was good but won't be back sorry, to many other wonderful Indian restaurants to go to with equally if not better food and way better service, shame was quite excited to try here, heard good things about this place, they have not only lost my custom but also the several other people I was sat with.
A. S.
Delightfully delicious with a little bit twist and with reduced spiciness...
J. P.
Great food, really enjoyed it. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful

As soon as you walk in from the moment we were greeted, we received incredible service from all staff including the restaurant manager!
There are many Indian restaurants around Aberdeen and we have gone to all of them. However, not one compares to the quality of the authentic taste of the food served at Namaste Delhi.
Namaste Delhi may be a new restuarent at present, but they sure are changing the game in Aberdeen. Not only have they raised the standards of Indian food in Aberdeen, they set the standards! The food and service speaks for itself. Will definitely go again and will reccomend to all that appreciate quality Indian food!
N. M.
A tapas style restaurant. Decor is nice but food is not exceptional. It has an interesting menu with some things not available in other Indian restaurant. The Hariyali kabab, chilli chicken and tuna cutlet starters were good. I was a bit, disappointed in the mains of chana ,saag chicken a bit. The malai kofta was good. I would have liked if they provided a few serving spoons with the dishes.
S. S.
Nice atmosphere, staff very attentive. Tapas=style so portions were enough, so no wastage 👍🏼. Food tasted very authentic and tasty, without it swimming in oil! The dahi bhalla and lachcha paratha were gteat, almost as good as I make at home (dahi balls only as I haven't mastered lachcha paratha yet)!
I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for authentic, home style Punjabi food.

I was very lucky this weekend to grab the last space on the Namaste Delhi Indian Cooking Class, a great opertunity to see first hand and up close how fresh Indian food is prepared.
The restaurant has, I believe, just been open for one year. Situated on Bridge Street it within easy access from the Train and Bus station.
Style of food is North India and served Tapis style.
The cooking course invited eight member of the public into the kitchen. This was a brave move, but I have to say I had nothing to worry about, the kitchen was spotless.
The cooking course started with an introduction to a selection of Indian spices. Two types of Chile Spice, one hot and the other mild. The main staple spices terurmic, cumin, coriander, gara masala, to name a few along with some Gram Flour used to make Onion Bhaji.
To get started we watches how the bahji was prepared and sampled some Masala Tea. Once cooked with fresh spices came the yeast test, they were a delight and a great start to the rest of the morning.
Next to be prepared was a Taka Dall, two types of lentals along with some of the fresh Termric and a little Chilli were set aside to cook while the temper sauce was created with garlic, spices, onions and towards the end some tomatoes. After the lentals had been cooking for quite some time the temper was added and set aside to rest. I had been thinking that this looked a bit thin but when it had time to rest and was served wow it was great
As the main course was stared, a very simple chicken curry, the rice was started also.
The chicken curry sause was created using very finely sliced onion a quantity of spices and set to cook. It was at this point I realised I was just not cooking my onions for long enough, brown was the order and brown they were, releasing all the natural suger and flavour. Some tomato was added to this mix along with Garlic and Ginger, yes, this late in the game, designed to bring out the flavour towards the end of the cooking peocess.
Rice has been cooked but to add yet more flavour a gee and cumin seed mix was added to a small pan and cooked briefly, this was then added to the drained rice, what a wonderful smell.
To top off the final part of meal some nan bread was prepared and as we retired to the restaurant to wait eagerly there was a palatable air of anticipation.
The meal was brought to the table and it was smiles all around, the curry smelt wonderful and tasted fantastic, light and full of flavour, not to spicy, the rice complamented the meal very well, and the Nan Bread was very light and delicious.
One of the team watching did not eat meat and had a delightful spinish dish.
All in all this has been a great experience, I was delighted to see the care and love that went into making the food. I had not eaten in this restaurant before but I can assure you I will be back for the full experience.
A great day and thanks to all the staff and Management.

Table for two Saturday night; comfortable seats; relaxed atmosphere; pleasant decor; excellent service....and fantastic tasting dishes! Best meal at a restaurant we've had for years.
G. T.
Went for a meal with an Itison voucher ,the waitress examined how the menu worked as it is a tapas style , great menu and we ordered 4 plates a rice and a nan ,while we waited we were given pompadoms and dips . We ordered tina paneer ,chicken pakora , a prawn dish and a chicken dish with basmati rice and a garlic nan . Every dish came out piping hot and so tasty ,there was more than enough for two sharing , this is a great restraunt with great food and looks good to ,suggest you have a visit

(Translated) A wonderful experience. We went to dinner a bit late for British times. After entering several places where we were refused because the kitchen was closed (our fault), in this place we were offered the possibility to eat if we did it quickly. So we agreed and well we did. The very nice waiter was recommending dishes according to our tastes and level of tolerance to spicy. Quite a success. Very rich food, very good price and more than satisfactory service.

Unha experiencia marabillosa.
