Have now eaten in twice recently & got a take away at the weekend. Included with our order was poppadoms & onions & mango chutney which was much appreciated. Food has been lovely & staff are very friendly & really make an effort to make you feel welcome in the restaurant. Booked to go back this weekend.

We first visited the Shahbaaz over forty years ago and have visited on numerous occasions since and the standard has never changed - first class. On this occasion the food was superb and the staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough to make our visit pleasurable. We would definitely recommend the Shahbaaz for a great place to eat out.

Used to be my fave Indian in Aberdeen, but haven’t been for years. Picked up a takeaway. Was “ok”, but not great, the mains were swimming in ghee. First time I haven’t seen the old owner there, so guessing it may have changed hands?

Ok first off, I have never seen a garlic and chilli naan quite as big as the one we were presented with. So if you’re hungry, this is the place to be. Having not visited Shahbaaz before we decided to opt for a few different dishes that were highlighted to us by our server on the night. The food was outstanding and genuinely I couldn’t fault it (apart from one or two elements of the mixed starter being slightly over cooked). The only thing - and it’s a very minor thing - that let this place down for me was the lack of atmosphere. However, we did dine in on a Tuesday night, so to can imagine the weekend would be much busier and buzzing with chatter. All in all a fantastic restaurant in the heart of Aberdeen.

We have used Shahbaaz delivery for years, as it is so good, and often arrives earlier than expected. We usually order Chicken Korma and Murgh Lahore, a spinach side dish, naan breads , and pilau rice. Very generous helpings and we find that two main courses feed three people easily.

This is, by far, my favourite Indian Restaurant of all time. Such fantastic meals and curries served from mild to spicey. The atmosphere is fabulous, staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, and I always leave with a smile on my face. The prices are a little on the expensive side, but certainly worth it. All meals are cooked to order and they offer take out options too.

Best Indian takeaway in Aberdeen. Ordered for the whole family. Ordered a Korma for the children and requested non dairy if possible. Got a call back to say it had dairy in but we ordered anyway as only dish the 2 year old will eat. When we went to pick up they explained they'd be 5 minutes late as they had to run out to the shop to get coconut milk for a non dairy Korma. Excellent customer service. Went out of their way to meet our needs. Food was absolutely delicious as well! The Chicken Chatkharedar was amazing!

My husband and 2 sons were on a celebratory meal celebrating the future of the publishing of his book. The meal we had was absolutely delicious. The poppodums were light and crispy with yummy spiced onions and mango chutney. We ordered main meals of chicken, lamb and vegetarian which were so tasty and delicious and OMG the peshwari nan bread was awesome. The staff were helpful friendly and very efficient. The owner/manager, an elderly gentleman was full of character and fun. Before we departed we were offered a drink on the house. I would 100% recommend this restaurant which is not only the best in Aberdeen but the best Indian meal I have had.

One of the best chicken Karachi I've ever had, spices were delicious, nann is quite big so one does two. Menu tells you what is gluten free/dietary requirements. Recently visited the Shabaaz and the food was excellent. we then ordered a delivery a couple of weeks later and the food again was excellent!! I love lamb dishes but only when it’s tender and no fat and that’s exactly what you get here … can’t wait to go back!!

If you don't agree that this is the best Indian restaurant in Aberdeen then great, it means that I will always be served quicker when I go. It also means unfortunately you have no idea about what makes the best Indian restaurant, the best Indian restaurant. The staff are always nice and friendly, the service is always first class and the food is by far better than any food available from any Indian restaurant anywhere let alone one in Aberdeen. The acid test in my opinion for any Indian is their Lamb Rogan Josh and the Shahbaaz version is amazing. They have the best huge soft fluffy tasty garlic Naans, and pilau rice is plentiful and tastes great. No need for starters or puds as if you have an average sized stomach that's all you'll need. Keep disagreeing with me if you prefer other restaurants so I can always get a table amd takeaway quickly please please please. We'll done Shahbaaz for always keeping up your very high standards 😊😋👏

Had a meal here last week. Excellent! The service was very good from start to finish. Starters are just a nice size and the mixed pakora is absolutely delicious. The menu for mains is huge, with something for everyone. I opted for a Dhansak which was just so flavorful. Don't forget the poppadoms and the naan bread! Thoroughly recommended.b

As mentioned elsewhere phone skills were lacking when taking the booking and there was some doubt over the reservation on arrival. That aside service was excellent and the staff friendly. Starters were excellent. Light and tasty and not the usual artificial colours often seen. Chicken pakora was especially tasty. Mains were tasty, pleasantly spiced and good sized portions. Chicken was a bit tough in the Massalla. £110 including a bottle of wine and 4 starters and mains.

I very good Balti. I'm a massive curry fan. Live in south shields and eat a lot of Indian Food. Food was very flavorful and delicious. I'd say in my top 3 curries of the year. (Prob eat one or two a week). It is traditionally decorated and not flash, but good service and attitude. If your in Aberdeen give it a try.

Had a fantastic carry out from Shahbazz in rose street Aberdeen tonight. 17-04 -2020. Tandoori chicken and mixed tikka, with rice , salad, curry sauce and free popadoms and dips. Been a long time since we went to shabaaz one of my favourite restraunts.booked a table for 4 on Thursday with my friends from England.we were welcomed with a friendly staff taken us to our table and we have our drinks order and popodoms with the usual chutneys.when our starters came was very tasty and full of mouth watering spices.and when our main came we ordered Wandering,chatkara,reshmi Masala and tikka masala.we were not disappointed was full of spices and a very high standard. Still the best but needs a little revamp but main is .prompt service and good food. Must say still the best a decent prices.must try.ty to all staff at shabaaz for a lovely andwoderful ending of the night.
