Saphan Thai is a real hidden gem. In Aberystwyth established restaurants like Medina get all the attention, but this place is not to be missed. The menu is street food-themed, with a range of noodle, rice and soup dishes to choose from, along with plenty of starters and sides. I had a spicy noodle dish called Pad Kra Prow which was genuinely delicious! The service was very prompt and friendly, with staff going out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable, even going to the effort of demonstrating different chopstick technique! I cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you Saphan Thai for a lovely evening!

What a meal! They have a selection of vegan options and will cater to your needs. The green tea is excellent even without the milk. I usually go for the spicy options, but when you order the ones without spice you can really tell that it is good quality ingredients prepared well. Anyone would be able to find something no matter the amount of spice you can tolerate.

Great little place. This really surprised us, from the friendly welcome to the absolutely stunning thai dishes. Theres lots of great choice and traditional drinks, everything is really flavourful and colourful. Definitely worth a visit.

Came by with my partner shortly after they reopened this year. The guy who runs the place is super nice and was a pleasure to talk to. The food is absolutely fantastic. My partner is vegan, so we often eat Thai food as it tends to be vegan/vegetarian friendly, and this is some of the best we've ever had. Absolutely give this place a stop by if you have the time.

Excellent food but not 100% Thai, a bit of fusion probably to meet the needs of local population. Unfortunately prices have just gone up. Beer singha, Chang etc is pretty expensive. Staff cheerful and efficient

Still as brilliant as it was. Saphan Thai is undoubtedly one of the finest restaurants I've had the pleasure of dining in, both in regards to food and service. Having tasted authentic Thai food courtesy of family relationships this brings back nothing but a certain sense of nostalgia. I've now visited a total of 5 times now with my partner, (not including little pop-ins for drinks & snacks) and have tried a wide variety of dishes. I am able to sensibly conclude with the utmost certainty that the food is appetising in looks, and flavoursome in taste. It's overly moorish. P.s. portion sizes are lush. In regards to the service, the two owners Glyn and Jeab are wonderful. Only with family and friends have I felt so welcome to a meal. The rich balance of professionalism, banter, and care creates a joyous and uplifting experience. In short, you don't leave Saphan Thai without a smile on your face & the left overs from your meal in a tub-to-go. (My personal recommendation: - Starter: Tom Kha soup - Main: Sukiyaki noodle soup, Duck Chu Chi, or Panang. - Side: Prawn crackers & King Prawn fried rice - With maybe 1-3 Leo's & Singha's

Went last night with a few friends. Found us a table though they were fully booked the rest of the evening. Very friendly, great food, pretty much the best Thai any of us have ever eaten. What's not to like? Try it!

Quick service, and the food is excellent. Surroundings are nice, and you have a choice of chopsticks or cutlery. Limited on street parking but M&S car park is a ten minute stroll away. It's a new business and only taking cash payments at the moment. UPDATE! They now take card payments.

The only genuine Thai restaurant for many miles. Very friendly husband & wife duo running front of house & kitchen. No formalities, just excellent food & drink in a relaxed atmosphere. Excellent quality of ingredients. Sensible prices and good value.

I love Thai food and having enjoyed it in Thailand, I'm quite particular about it. This was one of the best Thai meals I've ever had. Staff were lovely, food was incredible. We were going to get dinner again the following night but it was closed - we were genuinely devestated! If we come back to Aberystwyth we will definitely be coming back here for dinner!

My Partner and I went to this restaurant today and had delicious hearty Thai food. My partner had the coconut seafood curry with egg fried rice and I had the cashew nut stir fry with steamed jasmine rice. The food was the perfect amount, filled with flavour and wasn't grease which left my gut feeling the best it's been in a while. The owner and his family were amazing and friendly, the restaurants' decor was fabulous and very oriental and clean, the restaurant has also followed the social distancing guidelines to protect customers and themselves with a one way system. I highly recommend to family and friends.

I ordered the Tom Yum, Som Tam & Phad Thai for take away. Welcomed at the door with a smile. The Som Tam was the most authentic I’ve had outside of Thailand, I always enjoy a Tom Yum and the Phad Thai was just a nice addition. They all went well together for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it all. Next time I’m back in Aberystwyth then I’ll definitely visit again. I would definitely recommend to anybody. Great food and great service 👌
