Reviews of Tafarn Sinc.
S. E.
Amazing pub with so much history. Super friendly staff, love the authentic sawdust on the floor. Lovely views from the beer garden and the drive up there is incredible
J. P.
The barmaid who was from Cardigan and could speak Welsh was lovely.
And a local man who we met was equally as nice. Warm and friendly pub, plus just so fascinating.
Food was very nice but small portions.
I can't wait to go back and visit again for possibly my husband's birthday in October.
P. S.
Lovely pub like going back in time. Great atmosphere pleasant staff and superb food. Definitely worth a visit and a credit to the community. 👍🍻
S. C.
A great community-owned pub with a huge character and loads of quirky charm. Good food, local beers and friendly service, what more could you ask for? Can't wait for our next visit.
A. H.
A great find on our way home. Friendly staff with knowledge of the pubs history. The toilets smell better than me! and were lovely and clean. I thought the dummies were odd but nice, and I liked the sawdust on the floor, and all the old pictures and bits dotted around the place. Big car park. Food served.
J. E.
Really friendly, welcoming staff at this 'one-of-a-kind' Welsh pub. The food was delicious, the service was perfect. The floor was covered in sawdust and the log fires were roaring. All-in-all a first-rate experience. We will return!
G. D.
Fantastic old pub, that time forgot. Sawdust on the floor. Old nick knacks from the village; most of it when it was connected to the railway network; GWR. Great selection of ales and ciders. Highly recommended. Ale was well kept.
A.
The best pub I've ever been to! So much history, with all the corn dollies and the wood chippings on the floor it gives off the vibes of an old classic welsh pub and, it is! And the staff are very kind and helpful with their english and Welsh speaking, most people from the area can enjoy a drink and some crisps with some friends or family. I highly recommend!
Z. A.
Stopped off for a drink with walking group. Fascinating place (see pics) with items displayed from a bygone era. The pub itself is made of corrugated zinc sheets with a spacious interior & sawdust on the floor. We'll worth a visit. Two carparks available.
N. S.
It's a lovely pub which is really quirky. However the food although looked incredible was not cooked well at all. The leek burger was burnt and black, tasing very bitter. The chips were over cooked and both inedible. The Welsh rarebit burger came out far better haven't been there for years and would not return
P. W.
A lovely rural pub with great old fashioned atmosphere and lots of memorabilia on the walls. Just had a drink here but the menu is good and the food looked lovely. Will be returning for food when up there again.
B. O.
A unique pub with real local character (and characters) in the heart of the Preseli hills. Great food, beer and atmosphere. Community run.
D. S.
Having visited Pembrokeshire many times, we stopped local to the Tafarn Sinc because we had read about the amazing success of a community saving their pub. We visited for tea on Friday night with our dog, Sadie so had to wait for a table in the bar to eat. Glad we did as the food was first class and great value. Good selection of cask beers, the character of this place is fantastic. The staff were great, kind and friendly with a pride for the community, very welcoming.

Great pub. Brilliant restaurant. Polite and welcoming bar and waiting staff . Perfect place every after a long day walking on the hillside.
We will be back . Oh well done the chef and kitchen staff too !
A. H.
Popped in to kill some time whilst our holiday cottage was being readied. Asked if it was dog friendly. There is an area inside where you can take dogs in. We ordered food and even though it was right on the time where food orders were being taken they accommodated us. The food was not the cheapest but was of excellent quality and plentiful so no complaints there. You will have to reserve a table on the busy periods so be aware of this. The staff were really helpful and friendly. All in all we had a great experience in this quirky and characterful pub. Highly recommended.
A.
Fabulous stop in Wales. This community-owned and operated pub is a must-see. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is friendly and authentically Welsh - because it is, truly Welsh! 🏴
A. L.
Jewel in the mountains.
Lovely community run pub, food was great, service friendly and helpful, and oh how to describe the actual place quirky, fabulous, how a pub should be, what many pubs try to be and fail but the Tafern hits it spot on, brilliant atmosphere, good selection of beers, very dog friendly as well, if you want to step back in time, sawdust on floors and looking for a truly nice experience then I would definitely recommend 👍👍👍
S. H.
Lovely atmosphere pub, nice food, good beer selection
L. B.
A very interesting pub with a fascinating history set in beautiful location.. Good real Ales. Didn't get to sample the food unfortunately as we arrived just as they were about to close the kitchen.
A. R.
Lovely pub. This was recommended to us by friends, so glad we went. Friendly locals and staff. We loved the uniqueness of the interior. We both had the special curries delicious . Ang and Hel
B. R.
A beautiful drive from Narberth to Rosebush. Loved the fact that the menu was in Welsh and English and the staff were Welsh speakers and the place was bursting with personality We ordered the steak ciabatta medium rare and were delighted to eat a delicious, tender meal cooked to perfection. The only mistake we made was to order some chips, they too were plump and delicious but the ciabatta was enough. Definitely worth a return visit.
C. E.
Run by the local community. Wonderful atmosphere !
F. B.
Another delicious Sunday lunch at this friendly community owned pub with beautiful views and an interesting interior - highly recommend
J. G.
Brilliant place for a drink and food. Staff are Very friendly. Well worth a visit
C. S.
Brilliant pub to visit. Lovely walks around the area. Preselli hills, or just a stroll to the quarry houses and the quary mine
J.
Absolutely fantastic Atmosphere Great Hot chocolate Good pub Best Pub around.
S. W.
We had the wife's parents staying with us this week and decided to visit Rosebush and in particular the Tafarn Sinc for afternoon lunch as we have eaten there before. Both parents are wheelchair users. So we contacted the pub and made a reservation advising them of the disability requirements. From the first phone call they were extremely helpful and on arrival (a bit early) the table was reserved and we had direct ramp access for the wheelchairs. In addition the brother in law also had some dietary requirements and again the pub was able to help and provide him with an appropriate meal. The food was really very good and the staff friendly helpful and attentive. The only negative (but not worthy of losing a ratings star IMO) is that the loos are not accessible and it was difficult for mum in law to use them but we managed. It is really nice to see a local amenity being used and catering for the wider (and local) community. So thank you and we will be back.
R. H.
Lovely pub lovely food
J. L.
Some friends took us here for a meal one evening. What a surprise! The inside of the pub is decorated with antiques wine photos, there was sawdust on the floor in the bar, and a dining area with panoramic views of the Welsh mountains. The staff were very friendly the food was great and we saw a blazing sunset. Fantastic.
Dogs are allowed in the bar area, there are bowls of water for them outside. There is outside seating as well.
We will definitely go there again.
N. S.
Lovely traditional pub run by the community with sawdust on the floor and lots of history on the walls and around the place. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Food is great, the homemade lamb burgers are the best!
N. O.
A fabulously quirky community pub. The food was excellent and a good selection of beers that I've not seen elsewhere. I wish there were more pubs like this.
A. W.
Community owned and run pub. Good food & drinks. Decor very informative about the history of the area. Quiet background music very hiraeth.
B. L.
Nice pub and restaurant. Food was good though they did get the order wrong a couple of times they corrected straight away.
J. B.
Traditional Welsh Village pub. Community owned and very friendly. Great food.
G. B.
Great place.
Food is good prices are good
D. B.
Great pub but bar was all booked and no one was inside....
R. O.
Great place. Especially nice to have the vegie option of Caerphilly sausages.
L.
Unusual pub, staff very friendly, food is well cooked and well priced. The outdoor seating area is lovely especially if the weather is good, and it's a great stop after the Presellis.
C. F.
Very jolly. Good prices and a good selection of drinks. Conveniently situated for the end of a walk up and down Foel Cwmcerwyn.
S. B.
Community-run pub in the heart of the Preselis. Local people are rightly proud of the unique Welsh-speaking culture of the area, but are very welcoming to visitors in this well-known, traditional pub which serves hearty pub meals. The pub occasionally has talks, live music or other events.
B. C.
Lovely community owned traditional pub
J. F.
Great, community-run pub with great food and sawdust on the floor
M. 0.
This has to be one of the most authentic pubs I have ever been it, they should all be proud to be apart of it.
M. M.
I can’t believe we were lucky enough to find this pub last year , the food is absolutely fantastic the staff are brilliant , we try and go there most Fridays and have never left disappointed would 100% recommend this place .
R. R.
My favourite pub in the world! My first visit would have been around 2001/2002 and every time I'm in the area, I always make an effort to go there. Brilliant traditional Welsh pub.
M. B.
Amazing views to look at when you're eating. Really quaint with the original features. The food was like homemade and lovely. The staff were friendly. I've deducted a star as the food arrival was very slow.
M. D.
Cracking pub! Good 3 beers menu was really interesting. If you're down this way pop in for a treat!
J. C.
Lovely food, friendly service, fantastic views. But lots of flies.
A. U.
Very friendly pub, decent prices. Have to say I wasn't impressed with my soup, but my partner's burger seemed alright.
P. S.
Slow service. Some staff weren't as polite as they could have been. Got our drinks order wrong. But really nice setting, quirky little pub, and good selection of beer
J. B.
Me and my husband went to have a meal here for our anniversary. We were greeted with a girl named Fallon who was an excellent waitress who went the extra mile. As the taxis don't take card payment around Narberth we needed to find a cash point. We didn't know the area and she went out of her way to see where the cash points were for us to stop there on the way back to where we were staying. Food was beautiful.
K. L.
A really fantastic historic pub in the Preseli Hills. The atmosphere is unlike anywhere else you'll go but it's worth a visit for more than just the novelty of a corrugated building with sawdust on the floor. The staff are genuinely fantastic - warm and welcoming and they made fantastic recommendations on drinks to try, of which there are a lot. Their range of gin and rum in particular was excellent. I'd highly recommend the local Aber Falls Marmalade gin or the Barti spiced rum. We had dinner and the food was good but the real highlight was staying to chat to locals and the barman long after other diners had left. We ended up staying until nearly midnight in the end because we enjoyed it so much.
M. L.
Quirky place, very historical worth a visit lots of really great food. A must visit place. Great views and scenery
H. D.
Tasty food, friendly waitress.
Loveley location even in the rain.
Will return.
Dog friendly.
R. W.
Atmospheric and quirky in design set in a wonderful rural location. It is situated adjacent to an old GWR line with just a very short length of track remaining. A great range of beers and the food looked good but we didn't eat. Well worth a detour if you are in the area.
P. D.
My favourite Welsh pub, full of social history. Delicious Sunday Lunch after a bracing winter walk on Preseli.
G. B. W.
Spent an afternoon here after a cycle ride. Lovely pub in a beautiful setting. Very accomodating staff and great selection of food on the menu all for a very fair price. Also delicious guiness!
K. B.
Staff were attentive and good. The pub itself is lovely and of character , they were registered for eat out to help out , but would not honour this when went we went to pay. The food was average and a different menu to the one on the website. Wanted to support this community initiative but they are letting themselves down with poor food.
B. A.
Lovely pub with great beer and food. Beautiful views in the beer garden.
S. E.
Very enjoyable. Lovely seating area outside, had Scampi and chips bar meal, scampi was delicious, crispy and tasty. Best I've had in a long time.
C. P.
Great food in a very unique pub!
M. J.
Awesome Hwyl..clean, efficient and super friendly. Fab selection of ales. Best background music I've ever heard for us friends to properly catch up and chin wag. Highly recommend this hidden jewel in our county. Diolch.
N. L.
Food and drink was really good, quirky but great decor and amazing location with amazing views. I will say that the woman who runs the bar, maybe the owner?! Is miserable and off putting, the only negative to this place, the rest of the bar and serving staff were lovely
A. J.
Nice place really different hood good nice atmosphere thoroughly recommend
C. L.
A really friendly pub with a great atmosphere.
Nice food & Dog friendly.
Lots of nearby walks with varying degrees of effort required.
But all pass the pub on the way back !
Well worth a visit and it is the first pub we have been in which actually does have sawdust on the floor.
D.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Good food at a sensible price. Unique pub and a must for visitors in the area. Owned and supported by local people.
C. W.
This is an extraordinary place, built originally as a hotel for tourists. Fascinating history locally, interesting remains from slate quarrying.
We visited before indoor dining was re-started & just stopped for a drink after a long walk up Foel Cwmcerwyn (also highly recommended, fabulous views out to the coast & all round). It was very busy & clearly popular. Very pleasant garden with lots of well-spaced tables, some under cover. Probably sensible to book ahead if you want to eat. Definitely somewhere to visit if you're in the area.
D. H.
Really enjoyed it. Lovely location, no frills, food fine, very good service, everyone was very cheerful, lots of laughter. Used to be a station, funny little platform arrangement outside, lots of quirky memorabilia. Strange to imagine trains ever stopping in such a remote place. We felt welcomed. Would go again.
R. c.
Great pub! Shame for the loud live music
D. O.
Lovely place, not an extensive menu but enough of a choice to offer something for everyone. Good food and a warm, friendly welcome. Can recommend.
t. d. p.
An amazing pub with a wonderful atmosphere!!
M. S.
Such an unusual place but well worth a visit if in the area. The building once served as a train station now converted to a pub, very quirky establishment, sawdust on the floor, roaring fire, photos adorn the walls, outside they have the railway platform with scarecrow type figures as if waiting for a train ! There is a good variety lunch menu, we had a plough mans for lunch which was plentiful and well worth the money. There is menu for evening also. There is a very good choice of drinks with a good variety of local brewed ales and friendly staff
S. S.
Enjoyable pub, quirky loads of atmosphere. Sadly a little understaffed as there was an hour and a half wait for food and that's was on a Wednesday evening. The place was packed which was great to see and the food looked delicious, next time. Only niggle was the sound of the steam locomotion it was constant, felt it should of been on a sound loop, say every half hour. But well worth a visit.
P. B.
This is a quirky place clearly with some interesting history. Meat joints and wicker decorations hanging from the ceiling along with sawdust on the floor are not a common feature anymore.
The food was good, the service friendly and the prices reasonable.
P. M.
Great rural Welsh pub with a unique interior with many unusual items hanging from the ceiling. Wood burning fire.Excellent pub grub. Wonderful location. Dogs allowed. Smoking area. Very friendly bi lingual staff.
J. I.
Tafarn Since is a wonderful pub with excellent food. It's difficult to describe the place, atmospheric doesn't do it justice. On my regular trips to Pembrokeshire I have had many meals here and have not been disappointed. The staff are friendly and the service is quick. Highly recommended.
P. J.
Beautiful location situated in the Pembrokeshire national park. Breathtaking views and the staff are friendly and helpful. Had food here on a couple of occasions and no complaints about the service. A popular place with tourists and dog walkers. Also a lovely beer garden
A. W.
We had a very nice lunch at the Tafarn Sinc yesterday (Tuesday) and very pleased after a long walk on the Preseli hills.
T. P.
A Pembrokeshire mainstay. Now owned by a cooperative who wisely haven't changed too much since taking control. Well worth a visit if you're in the area. I'd recommend a hike up Foel Cwmcerwyn before hand to earn the beer 🍺
J. D.
Allowed dog to sit in covered area and bought out biscuits and water very thoughtful also lovely pint
J. M.
Beautiful place absolutely locked in time. I hope it is there for years to come
J. W.
Amazing Sunday lunch. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. The whole experience is fab.
M. B.
Lovely unique country pub in a beautiful setting, we had the beef Sunday lunch which was nice a shame about the gravy, overall very good.
S. B.
We found this place by accident, what a beautiful place, rustic and quirky, lots of old historic things hanging from the ceilings and on the walls, sawdust on the floor, I took ages in the toilets reading the framed quotes, we had Sunday lunch and it was perfect, I read it was run by the community so hats off to them all, they are doing a fab job, staff very friendly and welcoming..thank you for having us x
E. r.
Wonderful steak, excellent beer, brilliant atmosphere and surroundings. Ephemera from its early days and from local villages. Sawdust on the floor. Community owned and run pub.
M. S.
Lush Breakfast baguette, Dogs welcome. View is stunning and the coffee is amazing!!
D. R.
Lovely sandwiches (good thick slices of Turkey). Ploughman's lunch with lovely pickle, good chunks of cheese and ham. Iconic pub in the Preseli mountains.
A. C.
This is a community run pub and restaurant and has minimal staff which, on busy nights, can lead to delays in your meal being served. However this is not a problem as the beer is good, the atmosphere convivial and a beautiful view over the Prescelli Hills with stunning sunsets.
N. D.
A proper piece of history, so glad that the community came together to keep this piece of history alive, lovely service.
M. U.
Everyone should experience this community pub and restaurant! Sawdust on the floor, wooden walls and corrugated iron building. Friendly people and amazing traditional decorations. But please get rid of the mannequins waiting on the station platform!
J. L.
Very nice food , friendly staff , good service ,unusual decor inside pub , outside static railway platform scene of people & animals waiting at the now closed Rosebush station. Worth a visit pembroke Wales.
M. J.
Great vegan choice. Unique place.
D. W.
Local brewed beer, supplier, butty beer Carling lager, approx 3.15£ a pint, have to book in advance for food, didn't check food price, dont know why but was not sad to leave
w.
Family pre Christmas lunch whilst staying in local cottage. Lovely local beer, home made Welsh Cawl which was v v good value and v v v v nice (my 9 yo son had 2 bowls), wood burners on, saw dust on floor and great atmosphere. Visited a few times over the week, different local beers on tap, a very cosy pub surrounded by amazing scenery.
A. M.
Really loved the quirkiness of this pub, really welcoming.
L. W.
Superb food and drink with a lovely Welsh welcome
R. C.
Brilliant Sunday lunch, very reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and the service good. A very quirky, charming old building, glad we came here.
G. P.
Great Cawl and local beers. Fab setting and atmosphere, well done.
P. K.

N. M.
Love this place so much, traditional, great food and an amazing setting
E. F.
I love this place. It was bought by the community which is great as it really is a wonderful building with lots to look at
G. S.
Very pretty spot
Good service and although I wasn't expecting too much, the grub was good
J. J.
Lovely staff and food first class. Plenty of outside seating. Well worth a visit.
G. r. W. g.
Such a wonderful place I love going there and relaxing. The friendly staff and the awe inspiring trinkets adorning the walls and ceilings give loads to look at and chat about as the smell of wonderous edible creations fill the air the spectacular area in which it is set is simply breath taking enjoy a meal and drink after a walk around the surrounding area you will not be disappointed
J. M.
Excellent Sunday lunch, plenty of everything and a relaxing atmosphere. It's a pity it's so far away from where I live therwise it would be my local. Would highly recommend.
A. H.
Quirky place to stop for a pint after walking the dogs. Not had food here so can't comment on that.
R. B.
Fantastic accidental find, great community pub very querky, dog friendly, drinks, food and service fantastic
R. M.
The gardens were lovely and building and grounds were interesting. Service was okay. The food was nice, well cooked but standard pub grub and unexciting
r. s.
What a wonderful experience, called in on the off chance for food and was transported back in time ,absolutely fabulous
J. C.
A local phenomenon.. owned by the community since autumn of 2017.. really friendly staff and locals hugely atmospheric, log burners, great local beers, hearty food and sawdusted floors only add to the ambience.. a must visit!! Hats off to the community!!
F. J.
Went on Father's day.. but in spite of there being tables reserved and no body using them we couldnt get a meal as we had not booked .. . We weren't even allowed to see a menu .. ! ..
G. R.
Very quirky a bit like a scene from The Wicker Man
K. L.
Only called in for a beer and what a good selection. Friendly staff and it looks like a good menu. Must try sometime. Very nice nice garden area with great mountain views.
P. M. T.
A nice place for a cuppa but covid rules were not clear, one section of the garden staff could not go and take your order or bring you a coffee !
D. C.
Fantadtic visit last week with freinds. Had lunchtime menu but will visit in the evening as well. So Quirky and well done to lical community for owning and running .
M. S.
House beer is now from Bluestone Brewery.
Food menu has more items on it.
Dogs now allowed into alcove just within door.
What was good is now better!!!!
Pity about lovesick chef??? Rolls were good turkey quantity better than Sunday Lunch elsewhere, but please serve oversweet cranberry sauce seperately! If it had been mustard on ham all hell would have erupted!!!
E. S.
Wonderful Sunday lunch ... great service....so good we have booked agon for next week!
D. N.
Lovely quirky pub, we called in for a drink while out walking, the service was very good thank you
A. T.
What a disappointment! Been wanting to visit for ages. Looking forward to a leisurely lunch with a fabulous view of the hills. Pleasant garden with landscaped station platform. Not sure if the shop mannequins in 'victorian' dress were knowingly kitsch or just bad taste. Just as we started to enjoy a cold drink, steam train noises started to eminate from the shed on the platform. While this was mildly amusing for a minute, after another 20 mins of chugging and whistles i was feeling demented. Crewe station would have been more restful so went inside to ask if they could turn the noise off. " it's to do with the platform!" replied the incredulous barmaid (as if i'd failed to make the railway connection). We did think about going inside to eat but seemed a shame on anice day. Went to another pub where the only sound in the garden was birdsong - bliss! Tafarn sinc - perfect for train spotters, the deaf and those who like their wide open spaces with transportation noise - more picturesque than your average motorway bridge.
c. c.
Lovely views looking out of the pub. Nice food, good value for money and very quirky indoor decor.
J. S.
Lovely food and staff highly recommended
G. H.
Great food. Our dog loved being inside with us too. Really nice staff who work there. The place is lovely.

Nice atmosphere, but poor lunch time food choices. Basic pub fare.
G. K.
Lovely community run pub. Very friendly with great value food.
s. d.
Great atmosphere and really good food.
R. L.
Quirky place, sawdust on the floor and the landlord believes anything you tell him. He said to me, 'you look familiar!' I answered 'yes I've been on Crime Watch, but I look taller on TV'. Everyone in the bar laughing. Great crack.
P. A. D.
This little gem is worth a visit.
Oldie world comfort and hospitality.
Go on.
It would be rude not to visit....

(Translated) I have a fondness for this place because I visited it 13 years ago ... but it has changed a lot - there is no choo-choo or platform with period mannequins anymore ... but the cheese factory behind the bend is front! Cheeses can be tasted and bought at any time and the dog guarding the yard stole the heart of my children!

Mam sentyment do tego miejsca bo odwiedzalam je 13 lat temu...jednak bardzo sie zmienilo-nie ma juz ciuchci ani platformy z manekinami z epoki...za to wytwornia serow za zakretem przednia! Sery mozna sprobowac i zakupic o kazdej porze a pies pilnujacy obejscia skradl serce moich dzieci!

You immediately feel at home here if you like a rustic ambience.
Various utensils from the past hang from the ceiling. The freshly tapped beer tastes great and is also good to eat. You are treated as if you have always been a regular here.
