S. Y.Really good portions, reasonably priced, tasty food. We had a panini chicken tikka with cheese and partner had the chicken tikka baguette. Lovely. Fantastic service, staff very knowledgeable and attentive. The place needs updating, but you can’t fault the food or service.
R. W.Dined in and the food was great. I had a baguette which was a really good sized portion and delicious. Tried a cake too which was also delicious. The service was friendly and quick. The only negative was that there was some confusion about which of the smoothies listed on the menu they actually had. However overall I would recommend the Carlton.
p. t.We have been going to The Carlton for years now,as we holiday in Aberystwyth a few times a year.But last year wasn't as good so we went again on the 22/10/22 for lunch to see if any better and unfortunately it wasn't.The food is lovely and not a bad choice of menu.But the service is so slow,we waited about 20 mins before our order was taken then about 15mins on top of that for our drinks.I appreciate they were busy,but quite a few customers were not happy that day.Its as if the staff get lost in orders then you get forgotten as they can't remember how long it's been before they finally get your drinks.The prices aren't too bad but again for what you pay it needs to improve a little.

Totally recommend here especially with younger children because there is a massive menu range. Definitely coming back! Also the price was very good, not to expensive for the quality of food that you get!

S. A.The staff is friendly and that's where most point go. Food is underwhelming or maybe I had my hopes high or perhaps after flavour filled Five Guys burgers this just doesn't match up, portions are good tho. Burger didn't have much flavour, the meat didn't have any flavour at all and considering it doesn't come with cheese you don't get any cheese flavour either. Chips on a side are nice, not sure how much credit you can give the chef though. Onion rings might seem a little burnt but they aren't and it's the best part of the whole meal.

C.Love this place the owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. Never had a bad meal from here I love the garlic bread. It's not on the menu now but if you ask they will be happy to make it. The toasties are tasty and filling with a bit of salad to munch with it. Great to stop off after a long shop. Or pop in before to fill yourself up for a long Christmas shop. I like to get a window seat when available to sit and watch the world go by. The main meals are very well put together and if it's Christmas try the turkey dinner when available. Can recommend all the food as tasty filling and good value for money.

Pleasant and friendly staff, and what a tempting menu and specials. I've just had Welsh lamb with perfectly cooked fresh veg which was yummy. Definitely make this my regular. Very happy

E. L.A cafe meal tonight, Butternut squash lasagne. I spoke to the owner a few days ago and he made me a vegan version, no cheese and oatmilk white sauce. It was really tasty 😋😋😋 the only downside was I was charged 55p more than the menu price of £7.95 for the small changes,which were no cheese, and I'm guessing he had to go out to buy the oatmilk. Good effort though

T. E.A chance find as my wife and I were unfamiliar with the town of Aberystwyth. Up the stairs and in to an old school 70s type restaurant/cafe with a nice mix of classic and modern dish's.
The chips were lovely, not oily or salty. I had a Ham and Cheese baguette with a bit of salad garnish and my wife had a Cheese and tomato baguette. Plus a Coke each. A great lunch and a fair price, just under £15
E. J.This is a little gem. Met up with some former work colleagues for breakfast here and as usual food was fantastic. Located on the first floor (above Superdrug), access is at the side of the shop and up stairs, which might be a problem some some.
The climb is well worth it as the choice of food is great as is the quality.
