Reviews of Y Dafarn Datws Fish & Chips

An all round great chippy. I come here often and the food is pretty much always top notch and great value for money. Staff are extremely polite and friendly and the atmosphere is always nice. Very reliable, popular with locals, can't really say anything bad about this place. Waiting times are never too long even in busy hours and the wait is always worth it. The fish is especially great!

Excellent fish and chips. Fish cooked while you wait. I'd visit again if it wasn't for the 150 mile drive! 😊

All in all this is a good little chippy. While the chickens not too brilliant the chips are delicious. Completely recommend for students.

Best fish and chips in town. I regularly come by and chat with the guys that run the place. They're all upstanding people and are a pleasure to interact with. The food is great as well and super reasonably priced. Honestly it's a great place and they deserve whatever business you're willing to kick their way.

Always great fish and chips. Can get busy, but the service is fast

Chips and a selection of accompanying dishes should you require. Fish, sausages, pies, gravy and curry sauce.

Looking at the last few reviews we didn’t feel particularly confident on using this fish and chip shop, but as we are on holidays and this was our nearest we gave it a try.
Really glad we did. Freshly cooked and nice and hot. Beautiful piece of battered cod and lovely chips. Would definitely recommend.

Just had a lovely meal from this fish and chip shop. We're staying in Borth where it seems just about everything including the two fish and chips shops are closed, but a quick search on Google and we found this one 4 miles away. Well worth the trip, and still hot when we got back to the caravan. Would recommend.

I must be honest and say that despite this being the closest chip shop to Ynyslas that was open, and with parking available, this was one of the most nondescript chippies I've ever been to. The guys were friendly and helpful and I feel bad to say it, but the chips were pale and virtually tasteless. The burgers ordered for the kids at £4 each were very small and definitely not worth the money when you can pay £1 for the same thing at McDonald's, or get one in the hot counter for £2.50 at CKs over the road. I had a veggie burger which was so dense in texture it was like a savoury version of an old fashioned bread pudding! I was so looking forward to some greasy, tasty, well deep-fried chips, having travelled 10miles for the privilege, I was very disappointed. Maybe I just got them on a bad day :-(
