Fantastic little lunch at this cafe. Plenty of seating downstairs and really fresh tasty food. I asked for gluten free bread after our food had arrived (sorry guys!), and the staff couldn't be more helpful to get some for us. Highly recommended.

Amazing café, me and my mum went there the other day and I had a Cheese and bacon Bap (probably one of the best i have ever had). the staff was really nice and easy to talk to and just an overall great time! :D

Today we visited Y Gornel for lunch. The lunch menu is nice and varied, with options catering for lots of different tastes whilst retaining a traditional Welsh theme, and not too expensive either. I had a flat white to drink, it was ever so slightly burned but was still tasty and at £2.50 I had no complaints. The food was absolutely delicious. The lamb cawl is a must have, and the soup was also exquisite. Staff were very friendly and helpful. You might be waiting a little while for your food in busy periods as it is a small business, but no complains about the quality of service whatsoever. The staff are also bilingual in English and Welsh which is a nice touch. All in all would totally recommend visiting. Diolch yn fawr Y Gornel!

Lunch was fantastic , service was excellent . Would strongly recommend Y Gornel as a go to cafe in Aberystwyth, I did notice that were lots of tables reserved at lunch time so perhaps best to book if there’s more than 4 .

Awesome coffee, lunch and sweet treats. We were visiting from New Zealand and we were here every day. Awesome service and a great location in an old listed building with Wifi and cosy dining downstairs. Love this place!
