M. M.Had a celebratory end of term meal here with my wife and two kids. No booking but found us a table, jerk chicken and curried goat all round.. Food was really tasty, my wife likes the Jerk to be more spicy than sweet but this is minor. Music was good, not too loud. Place is clean and tidy, not sure about all the local basketball team shirts hanging up? Why are they there? There appears to be a single unisex toilet just off the main restaurant. Staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. This would be a great place to start a night out in town.
O. G.If I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. My fiancée and I have tried hundreds of different cuisines and restaurants across the UK and without a doubt the delicious food, wonderful staff and easy location make Carumbar THE BEST. We simply could not fault this visit. I can’t pick a favourite part of my meal, so I’ll just recommend it all. Chickpea curry, sweetcorn frittas, snapper, chocolate rum cake, try as much as you can because this place is faultless. So much flavour and an incredible portion with a delicious side of Macpie. The food came out so speedily and the staff checked on our food and refreshments three times, and I have to say they were wonderfully helpful and suggested some great authentic dishes to us. The manager was present which was great because we wanted to thank her and her staff personally and she was clearly a passionate and very engaged member of the team. I just can’t wait to go back. You should all be so proud- thank you and good luck with the festival next week! We wish we could join but we will be away for the weekend so sending best wishes xxx
H. H.Really amazing place. Food quality is exceptional. Atmosphere good vibes soft music in the background. Service was a bit slow, as in getting cutlery. Otherwise a faultless night with friends.
E. V.After having ordered take away from carumbar a few times we finally had a meal in. As we expected the food was delish. The atmosphere was chilled and the staff were really friendly.
P. S.Visited few days ago. Curry goat was really good (quite a few bones, but OK, I guess they are quite bony creatures so I did not mind that much). Both me and my partner agree that the prices are too high for what you get. Being new to Bedford we find it in other places as well, so maybe that is what small businesses have to do now to survive post-pandemic. Place is nice and service was really good.

The food is fresh and delicious, though the curry goat was the star of the show. No amount of words will make this place justice so get yourself booked in and enjoy some amazing flavours.
Y. V.I was attracted by the smell and the decoration of the place. However a bit disappointed of the food. The portions were big (I asked for a combo). But all sides and main food was reheated. Food wasn't fresh, and although the flavour was ok, the rice is always better when is just done, at least the sweet plantain fries were fresh (my favourites).
Overall, portion: good size. Flavour: ok. Reheated food. Staff were amiable.
I guess if you are going for some drinks and snacks will be good enough.
O.Great carribean food offered in Bedford. The owner is so lovely and really makes everyone feel special. So much better than chain restaurants like Turtle Bay. I'd rather support local independent eateries than large chains. The curry goat was flavoursome and the jerk chicken was delicious! Great place and vibes!
T.Great Caribbean food, great service. I went here for the first time and will definitely come back. Its nice to have authentic Caribbean food. The manager and staff were excellent. One of the bests I would say and definitely recommend.
B. S.Family decided to try somewhere completely new today and stumbled into Carumbar. Absolutely fantastic. Starters were tasty, Curried Goat was delicious, even our youngest (who is fussy beyond belief) loved it.
Felt like we were invited to eat in someone's home. Very warm and welcoming, lively vibe, really nice atmosphere. Will definitely go back again.
