Reviews of Chaat Haus

This restaurant was satisfying in so many ways. First of all, the staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. The decoration of the restaurant is very tasteful and sets the tone perfectly. The food, oh my goodness! the food. Everything our group of three had was beyond perfect (we all had a taste of each other's food). Everything was, of course, fresh and cooked to perfection. The dishes and flavours were amazing and came from several regions. Prices were very reasonable and I would happily have paid more for this quality of food and service.

I have to say when I saw this Chaat Haus pop up in my feed I had to go and check it out as Bedford is seriously lacking some food places like this . I was hoping that I was not disappointed and Chaat Haus didn’t let me down.
It just looked like a normal place from the outside but the second you walked in the ambience of the place excited me. The lighting, the decorations, and the attention to details was great.
We are Vegetarian so was hoping there was a range of things we could eat and there was a separate Vegan menu. We ordered quite a few starters and I have to say they were very well presented and great value for money. The staff were nice , friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we got full on all the starters and didn’t get a chance to attack some main which means we will be back for sure to have some more .
The taste of the food that we had was spot on and hit the mark on every dish the drinks were also very nice and refreshing , having gone for a mint lassi I was impressed.
The gol guppa which is my fav dish generally were different and exciting very filling the only thing I would say is I think you need double the amount of pani (water) for each portion . First class place and is now my fav in Bedford. I will be sharing details of this place with everyone I know being a foodi from London this was very long overdue in Bedford. Also there is a paid parking next to place .Thank you guys.

Having recently read excellent reviews on TripAdvisor and Google reviews about the newly launched Chaat Haus on the Broadway, I felt that I needed to experience the food, service and overall ambiance for myself. I asked myself the question was Chaat Haus just another over hyped Indian restaurant? Well the answer to my question is a resounding no! Chaat Haus certainly delivers in both flavour and service. As soon as you walk through the door you are greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere which provides a great buzz for a newly launched restaurant. The service is prompt and attentive, and we didn't have to wait long for our poppadoms and starters, which were delicious. I had the Bengal fish fries (whitebait) for my starter which were lightly dusted with just the right balance of spices. I highly recommend you try, if you like fish. The lemon curry aioli is the perfect accompaniment for this tasty starter. My friend ordered the Machurian chicken, which had just the right balance of sweet and sour flavours. For my main course I ordered the Sri Lanken mixed seafood Kari which was excellent. Every piece of seafood was cooked perfectly which was accompanied by a rich coconut milk, tamarind sauce .This elevated the dish to another level. My friend ordered the lamb Mirchi Masala which was full of flavour and covered in a thick, rich velvety sweet and sour sauce. In my opinion the prices are very reasonable. This restaurant is a true hidden gem that won't stay hidden for long providing they continue these high standards of service and food. Thank you for a great meal.

Friendly, enthusiastic staff and amazing food. The Tarka Dhal with crunchy spinach leaves was especially memorable, but every dish we ate was very high quality. Recommended, and we’ll definitely be back very soon!

Reading one of the other reviews we decided to order 5 different starters only. All chaat were top notch, so were the tiny bowls you fill with tamarind water before consuming :) great taste and presentation. Will visit again for sure. Very friendly staff.

Can't recommend this place enough. Food is authentic and delicious, decor is lovely and service is great. Butter chicken, manchurian chicken and kebab chaat was cooked to perfection. The icecream is amazing. Will definitely visit again.

I had a wonderful meal, the place felt very homey and warm. The décor was nice to look at, got my food in a timely manner, the staff was very friendly. I got the manchurian chicken and the butter chicken and they were so flavorful! Not like anything I’ve tasted before. I really liked the edible flowers 😊 the food looked amazing!

Amazing Ambiance , 5⭐️ for the Interior, Service and Food.
We found quite a few Vegan Options and discovered a new favourite place in Bedford.
By the way do not hesitate to have the dessert , it is absolutely delicious.

'CHAAT HAUS' IS A BEDFORD SURPRISE FOR VEGETARIAN VEGAN DINING OFFERING FUSION ASIAN-INDIAN FLAVORS
A walk in explore to check out a menu transforms into a friendly welcome followed by conversational learning of their Chaat Haus menu in central Bedford, Bedfordshire. I decide to try a discovery starter to experience the crunchy sweet, sour, spicy rustic crisp flavors described on their menu in this unique vegan Asia-Indian fusion street food style that brightened a rare meal out.
This frequent traveller to India, Thailand, and Cambodia is delighted with he fresh perfectly spiced dehydrated crisp Kale Chaat starter uplifted by fresh garnishes and sauces. I had never heard of smashed potatoes before, and they blend flavors with a light bright touch!
After being soothed by the cardamom saffron oak milk chai, I decide I can't leave without take out. A delicious Squash Sweet Potato Curry (less oil would suit me better) combined with tasty Himalayan Tofu celebrated an excellent supper later in the evening.
By chance I was the first visitor destined to enjoy the arrival of other customers. First a family of five with a baby were welcomed with warm greetings and as the children settled, the older ones chatting about choices. All arrivals sparked further welcomes, greetings and conversations as another family with older children, a couple, then another couple arrive with a sense of having dined there many times before..
The welcomes and conversations merged the restaurant ambiance into my relaxed sense of total well being as I was nourished by the excellent food and pleasant company before thank you's and come again wishes accompanied my departure.

Great experience this evening. Shared a basket of poppadoms and 4 of the chaat dishes with my husband. So much choice. Chaats are my absolute favourite anyway so the menu was perfect. Food was delicious. Service very good. Can't wait to return and work our way through all the dishes.
