L. P.While the restaurant may look small from outside, it has a bigger extension to the side which is not visible while viewing from the Vue entrance.
Live music and great food. We loved the moussaka and other dishes and they were flavourful and had the right balance of spiciness.
We saw 3 birthday celebrations there which was very nice and the staffs were great.! Will definitely recommend.
S. C.I can’t recommend this place enough. Friendly and welcoming owner, lovely decor and most importantly, the food is incredible. Since moving to Bedford from London I have always wished there was a traditional Turkish restaurant in town and I’m so pleased The Olive Tree is finally open.
M. R.Nice decor, easy to find, was busy when we went, ideal for all. Background music is a bit loud, which can make it difficult to hear over the table when groups of more than 3 or more. There was 3 birthday announcements which was overly loud, but nice to join in. If you are thinking of a quiet place to eat then maybe not come on weekends. Otherwise great food, came out in decent time and friendly staff. Overall very good.

S. S.As it was my birthday we decided to dine out as a family. Having tried various Thai, Italian and Indian restaurants in Bedford we wanted to try something new and different. After reading some excellent reviews about the new turkish restaurant Olive Tree we decided to give it a try. I booked a table for 6pm but we arrived early at 5.45pm. This was not an issue as we were greeted warmly and shown to our table promptly. The restaurant decor certainly gives you a strong Turkish vibe it also had lively Turkish music playing in the background which helped to compliment the healthy buzz in the restaurant. Salah was our server for the evening. He went above and beyond, even when there was a slight mix up with my sons main course, this was rectified immediately. He could not have been anymore accomodating or friendly. In fact all the staff came across very friendly.
For my starter I ordered the Sucuk which is a mildly spiced traditional turkish sausage. The sausage was tasty and cooked well. It had a nice kick of spice to it, without it being too hot or overpowering. My wife and son ordered for their starter the Olive Tree Borek which was light filo pastry rolls filled with minced meat, onions and Mozzarella cheese. The filo pastry wasn't soggy but crispy as it should be. They were very tasty and satisfying. For our main course my wife and I ordered the lamb shish and chicken shish, both beautifully grilled with a lovely balance of spices. The rice was fluffy and perfectly cooked. My son ordered the chicken sarma. My son can be quite a fussy eater, but his empty plate says it all in my opinion!!! An excellent dining experience which I highly recommend, one of the best meals out we've had for a while. This restaurant is the full package, and I highly recommend you give it a try....you wont be disappointed!! Thank you Olive Tree for a memorable birthday meal.

Visited again one month in and it's great to see that they are living up to the high standards they initially set. It's so rare to find a restaurant that understands the importance of freshly preparing salads, but the Olive Tree clearly does.
Many months down the road, they are still sticking to their high standards. High quality food and service every time.
