We came in for lunch yesterday, and we were surprised to see that the place was actually a bit empty. I would have expected the students at Bedford College to be ramming the place for lunch, but not this time. Perhaps a 5 star review might help! 😇 Zizzi is ideal for all meals, be it a light lunch or a big evening meal. I can heartily recommend the cheesy chili garlic bread, a spicy take on an established classic! 😋 For my main I had a chicken and spinach calzone, and it was delicious. Chicken, ham, mushrooms, spinach, mozzarella and bechemel sauce - it sounds like an improbable combo, but trust me, it works incredibly well! Their coffees all cone in intriguing glasses, as well ☕️ My partner, who has coeliac disease, also feels very safe ordering from here, as all the pastas and pizza doughs can be prepared gluten free. We'll be back for lunch and dinner, for sure 🍕🍝

This afternoon we visited Zizzi's with my parents who are visiting from Lithuania. They were left very amazed with the restaurant, they won't keep going on about it since we left. Left them wanting to return before they leave England; the food, atmosphere, drinks and service were amazing can't fault a single thing. It was especially nice of the staff, Daniel and Grant to make an effort to communicate regardless of the language barrier.

So a friend and I visited one Saturday a couple of months ago to the Bedford restaurant. Unfortunately my risotto which had chicken in was a disappointment as the chicken was processed and not very nice. The complimentary snacks were so salty it was unbelievable. I was only able to eat a bit of my lunch then had to stop. Shame though as the one at Rushden Lakes was so much better. The staff were very friendly though.

I've always had similar experiences at every Zizzi I've ever been to regardless of location, good food slightly spoiled by slow service. This one has a really nice location on the river and all the staff were perfectly friendly and nice but their app ordering system is a bit glitchy and the food took forever to come... Ok for a leisurely afternoon but would not recommend if you are in any kind of rush!

I had an absolutely lovely lunch with my work colleagues today at Zizzi. Even though it was packed full with kids on half term, we had a great service with the very kind and charismatic team members. I had a soul balls starter and lentil linguine ragu dish and both of them exceeded my expectations. Absolutely lovely and well priced with a set menu offer. The new refreshing watermelon drink was great too.

I have eating out at Zizzi's many times and it is definitely one of my top places to eat at. Have never had an issue with the food, staff or the service, always been great. The menu is great, ranging from pastas to great pizzas & calzones. Salads for the healthy people. Lots of starters to chose from. Also have a meat & fish main menu. For starters I always order the garlic bread with caramelised onions as it tastes so dam good. Also tried the N'duja Garlic Bread today and that also tasted pretty dam good. Calzone for main. Cooked perfectly and once again tasted amazing. Had the tiramisu for dessert and this really is one of the best tasting tiramisus i have had. Service was great today as always. look forward to going again soon.

This was my first time visiting Zizzi's, as soon as you get to the entry, there are guidelines. Before you shown your table you asked to fill in a Track & Trace form. We were shown our table by a blonde girl, she was ever so nice, she gave us some nibbles before we ordered anything, Pasta Crisps (Vegan and Gluten Free) coated in a somkey paprika flavour, about 5 mins after, lady with short hair (i believe one of the managers) took our drinks order. Once our drinks got to the table, the "manager" asked if we were ready to order. We went for the 2 Course Meals Lunch for £9.75, both of us asked for our starters and mains, plus an additional side each. Our starters were really nice, on my salad it said on the menu, that would be marinated in balsamic vinegar and olive oil, but neither of this were on the dish. Not a problem at all anyway. After we finished our starters it didn't take long for our mains to get to the table, the mains were both nice, we never got our sides though. After we finished, we asked for the bill were it states a "Optional Staff Tip - £2.37" but we didn't get asked if we wanted it taken off the bill or not just got made pay it, it's not an issue, although if it is an Optional Tip, the waiter should make the customer aware of it, before processing the bill.

Zizzi is zizzi where ever you go in the country but this one is set on the river with beautiful views and on a sunny day there is outside seat in or out of the sun, very wheelchair and pram friendly. We had a fab waitress I wish I got her name because a young Italian girl been there for about a year. Very friendly excellent with my son she made our visit very nice, would definitely recommend a visit there and will will definitely go back. The down side is there’s no parking so you do have to park in the shopping centre and walk over which is ok in the sun but not so good in the rain.

Me and my wife rocked up unannounced and without a booking, and as expected they were fully booked bar a small table for two near the door. As we were both shattered and hungry we accepted this rickety and unbalanced table. The service we received from the staff here was beyond anything we had seen in some years as the art of customer service would seem to be taking a nose dive.....not here.. the manager Kyra went above and beyond to ensure we received fantastic treatment, what can we say, the guys at the top running this restaurant need to take note and promote her as she is destined for great things, although, if she did go further it would be a great loss for the restaurant itself. Amazing evening.... thank you Kyra and staff.

It's just another nondescript branch of just another average chain. Yet the mass produced food is OK, the service is good and the prices are reasonable. If you're looking for a quick, no frills, no fuss meal then Zizzi is perhaps a little better than a lot of the competition.

Lovely atmosphere and very good food but the prices do bite. It was also a lot of waiting around to get the food but the restaurant was full. Spent about £110 for 4 people with drinks which is ok for some people but for us was a bit pricey. One thing bothered us though was the cable under our table, we kept stepping on it and it was a trip hazard.

This Zizzi is a favourite for me and my friends. The managers Grant and Inga are most helpful and makes me want to visit there time and again over the years. Their corteousy and excellent customer service must have rubbed off their other staff. All in all you can expect a professional service unlike some of the other restaurants with nice interior but has terrible service. The food are excellent as Zizzi has improved their menu and quality of their food while other restaurants in town still has the same menu for the last 3 years or more (only change is the price increase).

Been to a few Zizzi`s. It's a Saturday night and busy but only a few people serving a lot of people. Been here 30 minutes and not had our drinks yet. Couple next to us just explained they have been here for an hour and not yet been served. Need more staff.

I had a little boy that was very energetic and aprille made sure my son had pens to play with because they had no crayons due to Covid. Cocktails were amazing (of course!) . Overall good experience. The food was of a good quality with a nice variety for mains with some non Italian food served as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful and sitting out looking over the river is a lovely environment to sit, while you drink and eat. Would recommend as a decent restaurant for a decent price.

Food tasted nice, although not much of it. The reason for low star rating is that my daughter and I were forgotten. We were first to be seated and our order taken almost straight away. Gradually other customers came in and were seated, orders taken etc. All other tables had their food and we had nothing, main courses came out and still nothing for us, i had to ask if we had been forgotten, we clearly had been. So service to be honest was shocking. I own my own restaurant and would never accept such sloppy service from my staff. I dont think we will be returning

Was ok. Average for the price. Couple annoying bits. They didn't tell us we had to order on an app and so we were just waiting. 3 times we asked for the children's ice-cream at the end of the meal. Making adults wait is ok ish but little ones were getting really restless waiting for what they think is the best bit of the dinner.

The dine in experience is much, much better than the takeaway option. The food when you eat in is actually very good although the menu is a bit limited. If you like pasta, meat and pizza or a combination or any of those then this is the place for you. The takeaway however usually sweats in the boxes and is usually soggy when you eat it. I've had 2 crispy pizzas that have come as a soggy mess at pushed into the corner of the box it came in.

My booking experience was great in these covid times. The host (Gabby went above and beyond) to book a table for 7 of us outside to celebrate our daughters 19th birthday. When we got to the restaurant though we were served by a different host and were separated and put on a table for 3 and a table for 4 because of covid restrictions. But...After speaking with the original host we were allowed to be seated together at the very end table as it was out of the way of other customers 😁🥰 so Thank you for that 😊 The food was great and the whole experience was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone and we had glorious weather too 🌞🌞

Took advantage of government 50% establishment was very busy! I can see why! Very friendly server. Prawn Starter was great, tasty and good value for money. My main - salmon was less enticing. Visited this restaurant for the first time. Been seated and waited 15 min for manager to take our order. Food arrived not long after that. My pasta was hard and dry as not much sauce was there. My fiancée and I went here for dinner on Friday night. Both the food quality and value for money were good as you would expect from a well established chain like Zizzi. The service was also good. The restaurant was very busy despite operating at lesser capacity and staffing levels due to Covid but the quality of service did not suffer. We asked to move to an outdoor table after our mains as it was a very hot night and the outdoor tables had views of the river and our waitress kindly sorted this out for us.

Never been to Zizzi's before here in Bedford. Great booking system. I received a text confirming my booking and you have the option of replying 'yes' to confirm or 'no' to cancel the booking. We were seated outside, as we requested, and asked to use a face covering until we were seated. You have to check in to either the NHS Track and Trace or if you don't have that then they ask you to fill out something on the Zizzi's website and provide your details. This is required for all members of the party. Literally takes 2 minutes! You then order your food and drinks on your own phone using a QR code provided on the menu. You can choose to keep the tab running or review your order and pay even before anything has come out. Better to be safe and pay once you've eaten however. Contact with the staff is minimal however the contact I did have was friendly and all the Covid processes were explained clearly. Food was beautiful, 2 starters and 2 mains. All came out in good time, hot and tasty. JUST REMEMBER, this restaurant is a cashless place right now so ensure you bring means of paying by card otherwise you'll be stuck for payment.

It was good. Not amazing but good. Not sure if it was because we sat outside but it took 15 minutes to be asked if we want a drink. Due to coronavirus I can understand why the food took a little longer to come and for that reason I didnt mind the wait. Nice atmosphere and good very tasty especially the pudding, (chocolate melt, definitely recommend). Lasagna, although delicious, was the smallest I have ever had and took about 6 mouthfulls to eat. Even my wife thought I wasn't being heady andfor £11 was very stingey and overpriced. The waiter was clearly over stretched as we waited about 20 minutes between being asked about desserts and placing the order. The breads although nice were quite pricey. So overall taste food but way overpriced and no value for money. Lovely evening but slightly disappointed.

Nice location by the river. Friendly service with a good choice of foods and a selection of options for allergy sufferers. Just need a gluten free pizza base and they will increase their popularity. They also have a take away option which is good of you are in a rush or cant eat all.

Food is fine.. Predictable but tasty. Careful using Tesco Clubcard vouchers though.. They managed to use over £40 of vouchers to knock only £15 off the bill, then announced that the vouchers were now used and couldn't be reclaimed.. Long story, but annoying to lose £25 of vouchers because the waiter couldn't apply the vouchers reasonably.

Zizzi's is one of the restaurants I visit frequently with both fiends and my partner. The menu is good and the food is normally good as well. I have found at busy times food can be heavily delayed, wrong or cold as it feels some become overwhelmed (however this is not often and it can happen anywhere). When visiting on my birthday we were given a free bottle of prosecco which was a lovely touch. Staff are friendly and welcoming from the moment you arrive.

Saturday eve 7.30 & very busy, luckily we'd booked. Staff rushing round & to be fair service was quite quick. We had no complaints with our meals apart from side salad being way overpriced for what it was & a very mean portion of mascarpone with cheesecake!! Either side of us were 2 tables of 2 women who complained about their meals & sent them back. All four meals!!! The reality was they hadn't read the menu properly & their meals were not what they expected. To be fair to Zizzi staff it was not their fault but they politely removed their meals & brought the menus for them to re-order. Would certainly return here but probably at a less busy time.

A wonderfull experience, couldn't ask for more! Our waitress was so pleasant and attentive without being intrusive, a very dificult balance to achieve, the food was excellent as usual. 24.06.19 Had a completely different experience tonigh, what has gone wrong, the food was awful, I ordered a "Brisket, Venison & Spnich Tagliatelle" and a "Chicken Salad" both were very disappointing! There was so little meat it was a bit shameful giving them the names they did, the tagliatelle was dry & tough and all dried up round the edges. I justcwish I coulf put the photos on here, they are nothing like the one they show!

Took friends out for dinner tonight to Zizzi's Bedford. Food really really good, no complaints on that front! However, we waited far too long for everything. What was apparent was that deliveroo orders were taking preference over those of us sitting in the restaurant. We sat at our table at 6pm and received our food at 7.18pm. Then after getting our food, had to send 2 meals back as they were cold. They had to wait a further 15 mins for hot food to find its way back to us. A gesture of goodwill was made by the manager, a round of drinks and one meal free. Thank you for that, it was appreciated, however, won't be coming back anytime soon as the service was so painfully slow and not what you want when treating people to a meal out.

Visit Zizzi's often because the staff are alway friendly, attentive and helpful. The food is always well presented and tasty. They have a nice selection of meals for adults and children so a great venue for a family get together as I have noticed lots if large parties there. I enjoy the Zizzi chain, typically good service and good prices. Food is reliable. The first time I have reviewed negatively RE Zizzi, the broccoli and kale side was dry and like rubber. Not tasting of garlic at all so returned it and asked for it to be removed from the bill. My calzone was delicious albeit the first calzone i've had that is smaller than the fork but very tasty none the less. The crab cannelloni was yum too. Overall OK, 4 stars are sound given the warm friendly environment and overall cost. I would like to attach pics but there isn't the option on this 🤔.

A great addition to Bedford, located on the Riverside. Have been on four separate occasions now and hands down the best Zizzi I've been to. Consistently high quality food and great service in a lovely location. If parking on the weekend don't forget to take advantage of the two hour or free car parks the council provide. You can also park for £2 at Prebend St and take a walk along the river to Riverside. Definitely a favourite of ours

The Head Chef offered to make 3 Margherita pizzas on the house and will deliver to the guys sleeping rough on surely the toughest night to be homeless (and it's zero outside!) - great that such Christmas spirit is alive and well.
