Reviews of Coco

What can I say, food was yum yum bubble gum :-)
I had the sea food linguini absolutely delightful, it had been complemented with a fusion of chilli which worked insanely well for a fish dish, delivering a pleasurable kick to the taste buds.
Will be back again :-)

Had a meal in Coco last weekend and although it is a lovely restaurant I was disappointed with the food. We started with venison which was good but the lamb we had for main course was very disappointing. It was accompanied by a small scoop of potato a little sprig of kale and a nugget of carrot swimming in gravy it's not really what I expected from one of my favourite restaurants. For Dessert we choice the cheese board which had a £5 supplement
I think covid and lockdown is taking its toll on our great restaurants were the standard is slipping but the cost is rising. I hope this trend is not a permanent fixture
P. H.
If you love arts this the place to go. Enjoy appraising live art gallery while filling your taste buds with amazing aromas!

Coco is without doubt or question my favourite restaurant in Belfast. Not had a bad mouthful of food never mind a bad dish. Consistently fantastic, they outdo themselves with the lamb dishes, cheese soufflé, scallops, duck, pork... I'd eat here Wednesday to Sunday if a could afford it. I usually swap dessert for a second starter too, they are that good. Excellent staff, and a great cocktail selection too. Defy anyone not to love it.

Back again for another lovely meal. Great cocktails at the bar. Excellent service from the friendly staff. Can't fault the place.
K. K.
Service fab, food first class as always.if you're thinking of going just go 😋 will be back soon👏👏

I love Coco so this visit was very disappointed. We arrived the day before covid passport restrictions were to be enforced ie had been in place for a fortnight and we weren't checked not even track and trace. Overheard manager telling customers who had shown theirs that it was a waste of time and he obviously didn't understand the process of checking covid passports. My steak was heavily over seasoned and badly cooked, a replacement was a really bad cut, full of grissle, although there was no argument when I said I wouldn't pay the steak supplement.

Six of us had a girly day out on Sunday Christmas shopping and had lunch in Coco. Could not fault a thing. Our welcome, service, food etc was 5* Fantastic place and atmosphere. We are still talking about it!!
P. B.
Absolutely loved it. Some great tasting food and lovely cocktails all at a reasonable price. Staff were friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Without being internet dramatic, probably the best tasting chicken ive ever had.
D. K.
A total little gem of a place. Great decor and lovely relaxed atmosphere. I enjoyed a glass of wine and a lovely tasty dinner here. Paul was especially helpful finding me a table on a busy night.
J. T.
Beautiful food from start to finish. Highly recommend. Staff were friendly and chatty. We had 3 courses and 2 x drinks each. £95 all in so reasonably priced. Nice chilled atmosphere, would highly recommend.
A. M.
Great food and service in very pleasant surroundings.

The wall art was definitely something else, both elegant and quirky, I loved it. We were seated quickly, our coats were taken which was a nice touch. Lighting was low so not ideal for photography but you really should not go out dining to take photos. The food quality was high but low on quantity, as is par for the course these days. Get a side order or two with your main. My starter of minestrone was to die for. My roast chicken main was fine. My dessert was exceptional, it was creamy concoction with jelly on top, plus honeycomb and two small meringues. Unfortunately I can't remember its menu name. The waitresses were very pleasant and willing to take a photo of our group when asked. I'd definitely go back but next time I'd order a side dish with the main. If you find this helpful give me a tick up please.

Tim hosted our wedding dinner at Coco - he was fantastic and really helpful / accommodating. It goes without saying about this place but the food and wine were absolutely delicious and everyone said it was the best wedding food they'd had! Would highly recommend, thanks!
C. M.
Been a few times now and yeah it's unreal, best triple cooked chips around
S. M.
Food very good but such a rip off on service charge which is not made known when booking
I like tipping to what I believe service deserves not what the restaurant believes they are worth
Patrons should have the right to refuse this charge
B. A.
Great reception when arrived
Great choice on menu very comfortable seating well spaced.Food was kindly served and prepared .Really nice place for to dine..
A. S.
Long overdue return to Coco. Again I had the pretheatre menu and was not disappointed. Tasty starter of fish cake, main course of hake and a dessert of Blood Orange cheesecake. Tasty food at a great price with comfortable and stylish surroundings, complemented with attentive service. Wow, what’s not to like and one of my favourite restaurants in Belfast.

Had a great night here and the food was fab. Lovely art surrounded us as we ate! Beautiful ambiance lovely helpful staff. Would love to go back!

Had the most delicious meal in Coco early Dec 2020 . The food is outstanding ,and the service was exceptional. Loved the interior design and felt really relaxed . This is an outstanding restaurant with very chilled out atmosphere . Can't wait to book again now lock down has lifted .

Roast was made to perfection! Very nice ambient with interesting artworks all over. Staff was very attentive. It wasn't crowded when I went on a Sunday afternoon.

Without doubt the best restaurant in Belfast. Service, food and wine. They all combine to make Coco the nicest place to dine in the city. I will always come back here.
R. M.
As usual. Utterly delicious food and a lovely variety of choices on the menu. The cooking was superb. Staff are delightful. Social distancing observed. Please support this wonderful restaurant. Would recommend rabbit terrine, beef cheek with paperdelli and sea bream with cauliflower 3 ways and roasted broccoli with caper dressing!
G. K.
A lot of places have came and went in the time Coco have been open. The standard of service, food, menu, cocktail list and wine list are always seasonal and amazing.
They have certain dishes that come and go from their menu keeping it fresh and holding my interest but also reeling me back in when I see one of my favourites has been brought back. One way or another I find myself booking a table here.
The consistency in hiring and keeping great staff is also why I keep going back. I can't stand stuffy, stiff service, Coco is always warm, welcoming and friendly. Always in my top three restaurants in the city. If not the whole island.
W. G.
Amazing. Warm welcoming staff that went out there way to help you. Food was out of this world. Surroundings were lovely. Highly recommend.
D. B.
Awesome food. Great service
G. K.
I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. Great food and decor.
M. R.
Great meal good service. Coco was recommended by the concerige of Grand Central Hotel. Glad you had space for a last minute booking. Would definitely recommend it.
B. M.
Fabulous and accomated us ever though we had no reservation
S. H.

D. M.
Fabulous meal. Love the decor 😊
G. L.
Very nice pork chop and lamp rack
M. W.
Visited last night, not for the first time, and had a brilliant night. Service and food first class. There were four of us and no complaints at all. Atmosphere was ideal. Four happy eaters and drinkers. Highly recommend x
s. b.
Lovely food and wine. Definitely will ahead back there.
Nice service and friendly staff. Not a critic or anything gone wrong.
Had the venison for a starter, lovely cooked and accompanied with its sauces. My girlfriend had the soufflé of goat cheese. Only heard good feedback regarding it.
Had a rare duck as a main, simply delicious and cooked perfectly, as wanted. She had monkfish, truly brilliant.
Whole dinner experience extra positive. Really really good.
C. M.
Lovely staff, delightful interesting menu, but even nicer during the week when it's not as busy. The wine list on a Monday hasn't been restocked and the Bordeaux was too warm so they'd need to check their temperatures in the wine stores. But it really is a gorgeous place, it's my other half's favourite.
J. M.
Amazing place. Amazing staff and Excellent food. Great hospitality. Excellent knowledge on local food and booze. My other half had a fantastic birthday meal. Cant fault the place. Perfect and a must if you fancy easy high class dining. Worthy of the Belfast food standard with all the hospitality the city offers. Just go. No regrets.
B. A.
Really enjoyed ourselves the evening meal
A. M.
My husband and I enjoyed a few starters and a glass of wine on a Sunday evening. The food was phenomenal, everything paired perfectly. I only wish we could've enjoyed a full meal here. The staff was also very nice and helpful. Definitely recommend.
J. M.
CoCo was fab so nice to get out and about atmosphere was relaxed surroundings very quirky and staff so very friendly and attentive food amazing we had the sunday deal would recommend very highly
C. H.
Oh my goodness, what a gem of a place, why have I not tried here before now!!
Everything was brilliant, firstly the decor, then the service and wow the food!!
I will definitely be back!!!
Great value for money too!!
J. M.
Food was lovely though I wouldn't advise scallops as a main, I was starving afterwards even though I had 2 sides 🙄..... Bad choice on my part. Everyone else had the steak it was massive and gorgeous.
They seemed to be understaffed the waitress only took half the tables drinks and left, they also forgot my partners starter.
Personally for the prices you are paying you'd expect excellent service.
I would like to return as all I have heard is fantastic feedback and I'd like to give them another chance.
J. T.
Beautiful place, well decorated, the food is devine and the staff are very professional helpful and kind
A. L.
I visited as part of a group at lunchtime. The staff were most helpful and engaging. The food was very good and came promptly. They have a lovely touch, where the art in the walls is all by an artist who gets to exhibit there for a period of time.
M. N.
Good food...good service...
Rate this place highly....
L. G.
Lovely restaurant and great food. One of our wait staff was a little unimpressed with us being an enthusiastic group of ladies catching up after a long time and was a bit sarcastic at times! But the others were brilliant, the house wine was also delicious!
C. S.
Amazing food and atmosphere!
O. M.
We had an excellent meal at Coco on a Sunday evening. We were a group of 11 people and the service was excellent, we didn't have to wait for too long. There was a good choice on thehe menu list and the prices were very attractive (Sunday night menu list- 2courses for £16.90 or 3 courses for £19,90).
The decor was also modern and funky, dishes were very tasty, we had an excellent experience overall.
b. w.
We went here for mother's day this year and the service was exceptional. We arrived late because i was working till 7 and was warmly greeted by a petite blonde lady. She was our server and was very helpful and informative with my sister's nut allergy. My mum loved her service and we would definitely go back for her. The food was amazing also
Z. P.
Tasty starter and main but difficult to get the attention of the waiters and the bread felt stale.
D. T.
Beautiful food, great service, really pleasant staff, gorgeous surroundings and plan on going again this week! Fantastic place! Thank you! You tick every box!
M. F.
Excellent service as always and in particular by a wonderful person called Chloe, last night. Coco is the only restaurant in Belfast that cooks our steaks perfectly everytime.
B. C.
Had a very enjoyable meal with friends here this evening. Great food, more than decent wine, very attentive service, and a nice atmosphere. Highly recommended.
P. c.
Great service and the food was amazing!
A. W.
Really finely dining in centre of Belfast. Lunch menu very good and good price if you get specials. Some of the art work on walls a bit risque. Staff really efficient and competent. Highly recommend.
E. G.
Good food, real cuisine with real chef, cozy but pop modern atmosphere.
L. s.
Wonderful food and service. The setting includes unique art. I had a lovely seared fish, a very tasty pear roquefort salad. Friendly and attentive staff.
P. P.
First thing that I've noticed was overwhelming smell of food, not pleasant at all, almost like ventilation hasn't been working properly. I then went to wash hands in the bathroom and oh boy! Absolutely awful! Cramped, dark and cold. Urinals just in front of the wash basin, no dispenser for tissues - they're just lying there on the shelf. Unacceptable in a restaurant with alterations. When it comes to decor it's definitely something unusual, although I can't see the bigger picture behind hanging the same paintings of women's breasts next to each other. Finally - food. I had a cod dressed with green herbs. Fish was well cooked, but there was too much herbs on it for dish to be edible. Staff was very nice and helpful - 5 star service, and the best thing about this place.
E. M.
Best food I've had in a while, really enjoyed it.
M. W.
Very nice interior, very friendly on arrival.restaurant not overly busy only 6other tables.
Ate with 2children, unfortunately colouring menus came but no crayons, asked server for some, she said no problem, five mins later went to bar and got some from bar person.
Menu very nice, some good options.
Order taken promptly, good selection for children with 1/2 portions available when requested.
Starters and children's food arrived.
I ordered Salt&Chilli venison , Asian slaw dressings. Venison not sliced thinly enough for this dish, Asian slaw was dry no dressing what so ever... But tasty dish if issues could be fixed.
Error with order meant wrong starter arrived, waited 5mins but when risotto did arrive it was well cooked and very tasty, lovely saffron undertone.
Finished starters, children finished their mains and then waited 10mins for our main course to come, eventually a server came to clear our plates and started to clear table of all cutlery when I had to inform them we hadn't gotten our mains yet... She apologised and then within 3mins our mains arrived.
We couldn't understand the issue as restaurant wasnt busy and plenty of servers chatting to what must be regular customers.
Mains:
Were tasty, although pigeon dish was in need of another veg to cut through the richness of the sauce.
We had planned to stay for Desserts but after waiting so long between.previous courses we requested bill.
Lovely restaurant but its a pity about issue between kitchen and restaurant and delays this is causing.
P. R.
Great food, great value, quirky decor.
M. S.
We visited Coco for lunch and had two very good meals. The staff were very attentive and even went next door to ask some builders to make less noise until lunch was finished.
The cocktail menu has a good selection of interesting looking drinks; the one we chose was very moreish! The wine list is good too.
The lunch menu doesn't give you many choices but what is on it, is very well prepared and well presented.
Overall an enjoyable meal in nice surroundings. We will go back again but next time, in the evening.
C. L.
Amazing food & drinks. Great atmosphere

Coco pre theatre
It had been a while since we had dined in Coco, and as it is one of the few city centre restaurants with a pre theatre menu on a Monday evening (come on Belfast restaurateurs-sometimes there’s a show on a Monday!) we decided to return to an old favourite.
We were given a lovely table against a wall facing the bar, and perused the menu which is pretty good value for a restaurant of this quality.
Both starters, the pear and roquefort salad and the prawn and saffron risotto were delicious.
We were both tempted by the sea bream as as a main course which had lovely crispy skin and was served on fregola pasta with mussels, and tomato and lobster cream. Sublime!
We had just enough room for Dulce de Leche ice cream and Catalan creme brûlée for dessert.
We will not leave it so long before we make a return visit to Coco.

Food is varied and well presented. The classics, like Cesar Salad, did not disappoint. The staff are the highlight. Easy going and brilliant at their job. In a very competitive Resteraunt industry in Belfast this is one of the best. If you are a visitor to Belfast, make this your choice for lunch or dinner.
N. W.
This place is great! The food was amazing and the menu was varied, there was something on it for everyone. The food looked stunning and tasted as good as it looked. The place had a great atmosphere and the staff are friendly and attentive.

My wife and I went here for her birthday. As soon as we walked in a member of staff met us and took us to our table...excellent service from all staff...excellent food. At one point I thought my wife was going to like her plate(risotto seared scallops)..which we told the waiter and had a giggle about...house wine..white sav/blanc lovely.. differently will be back....our 20th wedding anniversary is at the end of the month.. can't wait..
S. B.
Visited tonight & wow!!! First class service & the food was exceptional. Taste buds were in heaven.

J. B.
Food, drinks and staff were top notch, and it was great value with 2 courses for £19.50.
J. P.

Our favourite Belfast restaurant. First visited here in 2012 and we always base our visit to Belfast with it in mind . Service is excellent . Great variety on the menu. Great decor , atmosphere , and handy location and walk from many of Belfasts major hotels . Counting down the days until we return .
B. T.
Absolutely loved it from start to finish. The staff were wonderful and the scallops and pork belly were to die for. The ambiance was magical......I could happily move in. Thank you all
L. I.
Excellent service, food love the painting on the wall. Been a couple of times on our visit to family and am sure will be going again. This is a must if going to Belfast.

S. L.
I'm not one to go to the effort to do reviews for businesses but some just deserve it. I've never been to a restaurant were I've been treated so well and the food was of such high quality. Highly Recommend if you are in and about Belfast.
S. N.
My Wife and I went over to Belfast for our Wedding Anniversary and we had pre-booked to go to CoCo. I must say the food was amazing and the service was outstanding. When we rang up and booked they asked why we were visiting Belfast and we explained that it was our anniversary. Thinking nothing of it, when they brought out our desert they had writing in chocolate Happy Anniversary, what a lovely touch and one that will be remembered forever.
If you haven't ever been please go. :-)
A. N.
Excellent food and service.
K. G.
Hadn't been here for some time until our visit again tonight - we were welcomed by friendly staff and shown to our seats - from then on this was a great experience - we ordered from their pre theatre menu and both starters and main coures were excellent quality and excellent value too- finished off with well made coffees - great service and great meal - would recommend to anyone
J. M.

Shauna was very helpful and efficient. The meal was delicious. We gad and enjoyed the pre-theatre dinner menu. Unbelievable value. Food top notch
R. S.
Wow wow, The exquisite blend of flavours, excellent service in beautiful surroundings of art in the historic linen mills of Belfast. Foodie heaven with exceptional value. A must do !
P. M.
Even though we were 30 mins late (let down by taxi) and we did call ahead the staff were fantastic and accommodating. The food was great and service second to none. Highly recommended.
B. C.
Hi this place is very nice decoration is top notch
Some of the food and service is what let’s it down
We had lamb rump for main three small pieces with 60% fat and gristle NOT NICE we mentioned to the waiter who’s reply was we leave the fat on for flaver yes ok the fat brings flaver but pink lamb with 60% rubbery fat you can’t eat served on a plate at £18 that’s just a ripoff the old guy waiter had no interest. All I wonted was what I was being asked to pay for nothing else but he just said that’s the way it’s served took the plates and left and never came back.
For this reason I would not recommend COCO there are lots of very good places in Belfast with top service and much higher quality food in this price range
b. c.
Wonderful restaurant, delicious food with beautiful ambiance. Wide ranging menu to suit all tastes. Well worth a visit.
B. M.

(Translated) I visited this restaurant at once with my friend during dinner. The COCO restaurant is located in the center of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Easy access, street parking available, for a fee.
Very atmospheric place, quiet worth a visit. On the walls, you can admire the beautiful works of art, paintings and mirrors which definitely enlarges the already large room. Very professional service, caring for the guest from start to finish. Nice, smiling. A very short but specific card, definitely varied, has no problem with the choice of dishes. The dishes served, delicious and warm beautifully served on a plate, worth the price.
A lot of interesting and palpable flavors that captivated my palate. The atmosphere at this place gives even more value to the restaurant and the desire to return quickly. I recommend!

Odwiedziłem ta restauracje, w raz z moim przyjacielem w czasie obiadu.
Polecam !
