Reviews of Cyprus Avenue
G. S.
High quality, tasty food. Great service and atmosphere. I love the decor and feel of this restaurant. For me menu is more interesting and special than the average eatery. I will definitely be back to try some more of their intriguing dishes.
J. K.
The drinks were excellent and the service was perfect - very friendly and helpful. We were a party of 6 when we went for 2 courses.
On the whole the food was great but just small things with one dish like chicken thigh instead of breast (not mentioned on menu) and little things like crispy potatoes actually being more like boiled. The other 5 main courses were excellent
s. g.
Excellent spot. Great drinks and cocktails. Lot of choice in the menu. Highlights are the duck pancakes, chicken cheese & chorizo burger, and the Sunday roasts. Usually have good specials and fish options (if you like that). Staff are great, thanks for making it a good night!! 🤘🏻🍷

Fantastic food and service as always. Highly recommended with plenty of variety. We especially enjoyed the frozen cocktails in the good weather. The Frozen jalapeño margarita was superb!
N. M.
Lovely brunch and dog-friendly in the outside eating area which is covered and heated. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, the treacle wheaten was delicious. Steven who brought my food was lovely and he brought a bowl of water for Molly and a sausage which she scoffed with glee. My breakfast was delicious, the treacle wheaten was delicious and bacon q was lovely and crispy, though Molly had a fair but of it. No photos of food sadly as I was very hungry. Next time for sure, I'll be back 🥰
C. F.
Beautiful Staff beautiful cocktails. Food amazing especially the duck pancakes and seafood chowder. Cassie the bar attend was so attentive and recommend the most beautiful cocktails.
M. D.
They were very nice, the food looked and tasted great, but we waited veeery long and they forgot the food for my baby (the most important one:D), so we kinda suffered through the evening. The baby made a lot of mess under her and when I asked the staff how can I clean it, they were absolutely nice and said I do not have to worry about it at all. They also gave us a high chair.
L. M.
AMAZING 👏. We had a beautiful lunch and a yummy cocktail. The smoked haddock kedgeree was a taste explosion with every bite and the balance of flavours was masterful. Staff are very warm and welcoming.
R. N.
The Seafood Chowder was so good. Really nice prices for children menus and good food. Really enjoyed the environment. Will come back.
G. J. W.
Lovely atmosphere and delicious food - we shared some starters including Strangford Lough Mussels, Bread and Tapenade, Crispy Duck Pancakes and extremely delicious Cauliflower with Cheese . Great atmosphere and service too. Well worth the visit. Highly recommended. Do not miss the signature cocktail: Bottle O'Smoke - really delightful.
C. G.
Fantastic experience, took my mum here today for a 3 course lunch.
Some pics attached - food 9/10 - service 11/10 thank you for you're patience with my mum and swapping over the main she ordered by mistake.
Bill was reasonable considering 1 glass of wine was ordered also - £60.
Blonde girl at front of house in nice dress deserves a medal for excellence in customer service - will be back again soon.
Thanks
K. W.
Went to Cyprus ave with my family on Saturday night restaurant was great service was quick .... place was lovely & warm seats were comfy too ...my bread starter was great my husband & daughter wasn't keen on theirs it was sorta a ragu beef patty with gravy ..... mains I stuck with fish & chips .... chips weren't great with rosemary fish was greasy too much batter ...( I worked in chipshops for over 10 yrs as a fish fryer )... my hubby & daughter went for the chicken burger it was disappointing it was a chicken patty real dry sorta mess never tasted any thing like this before (what ever just happened to a good all chicken fillet you can't go wrong )my daughter left hers wastse off money my hubby ate sum off his but he was saying same thing was awful the food was well presented tho ...the best cocktail wee had was the frozen diaquri the other ones wee tried weren't great to be honest .....personally was our first time here n sadly our last ..
I. G.
The nut roast is delicious. An elegant interior and a very competent staff made it an even more pleasurable experience. Thank you for having me.
D. M.
Nice menu with plenty of dishes that elevate it above the regular fayre of most gastropubs. Extensive drinks menu and a well thought out wine list. Priced fairly reasonably and quality was good. We enjoyed our quick lunch. Service was swift, professional & friendly. Enjoyed it.
A. C.
Can't say anything bad about this restaurant, beautiful food, staff were amazing and the atmosphere was brilliant, thanks for a great food experience !
P. 1.
Our family went for a celebratory lunch today and the food was, as always, high quality and delicious. What stood out even more than the food was the service. It was flawless. As a table we were so impressed at the friendly, professional and intuitive service we received. 🌟 thank you!!
J. M.
We had such a good meal at CA. The menu is perfect, varied while not being too large or overwhelming. They also have a great drinks selection and very friendly and attentive staff. I had a teriyaki pigeon (sounds odd doesn't it!) starter, my husband ordered the pork dumplings and we split them. They were both amazing. We then had the beef wellington for main - it was excellent. The outdoor area was perfect for these post lockdown times, but we will definitely be back when indoor dining resumes too.
D. B.
Mate. The ribs. Try the flipping ribs! Also incredible vegetarian and vegan options if you prefer. Probably the most extensive menu in Belfast. The house Pale Ale is sweet to the beat and the outdoor dining area isn't too bad even during winter. I'd bring a jacket just incase though.
S. B.
Visited this morning for Breakfast. If you are looking for an Ulster Fry, jog on as you won't find any traces of tasty soda bread or potato bread in fact there is a mere token of bread on this breakfast. The sausages were very tasty as was the black pudding but compared to breakfasts I very been sampling this week it's a 7/10. The cappuccino was rich and smooth and went down a treat.
S. H.
Food was delicious, staff were also very good in helping with my baby daughter.
L. M.
Very friendly staff, great food, amazing cocktails
C. H.
Really nice location, good vibe inside the building, but the menu was strange. It was hard to read, not very clear what was a starter and what was mains. I felt also that there wasn’t a good choice. However, I did have the bread selection for starters and chicken/chorizo burger for mains and they were both very tasty.
N. C.
The fact that it is busy all day shows that the formula is working. It's a big restaurant with a large covered outdoors section to the front. They have different menus for different times of the day. Only been there for an early dinner, but have been lucky to get a table on both occasions as its so popular. Worth booking in advance
A.
Friendly service, interesting options, great presentation and visual appeal. Duck was dry, truffle potatoes were good, salad bland. Did not enjoy seafood fish to the extent that I could not eat it.
R. M.
Lunch: great, personable service. We both had fish and (rosemary) chips. The fish, with mushy lentils and mayo and pak choi was the best we've ever had. The wine and coffees were good.
Definitely worth another visit!
L. M.
Absolutely fabulous restaurant the food is excellent. Always have a first class dining experience at Cyprus Avenue. The staff are always so attentive. Our hostess Amy always goes above and beyond.
L. N.
Booked this for our anniversary. Happened to mention on the phone that I was booking with late notice as I had forgotten it was our anniversary. When we arrived we were greeted with a glass of prosecco on the house. What attention to detail. Lovely surprise!! Food was excellent. Scallops and black pudding with poached egg to start. Tomahawk for 2 for mains. Beautifully cooked. Had to take a doggy bag home. Tho still managed a raspberry and white chocolate pannacotta. Delish! Service was fab. Lovely guy running round so many tables. Very friendly and cheerful. Thank u cyprus avenue.. Will definitely be back.
M. W.
Amazing veggie breakfasts. Awesome place to sit and relax. Even if on main road. You're just transported into a wee nook in here. So I was so excited to come back and try a veggie main. I had the veggie burger but it wasnt to be. Please, please, please can the chef be more creative with the veggie burger. Its such a let down to us vegetarians our there. We aren't as hard to please as our vegan friends, I promise. This one was so dry and there was no sauce except a tomato style one which just didn't go with it. We can have cheese too, any kind. If you want to be safe, sure ill eat even eat vegan cheese. It didn't seem homemade either. If McDonald's can do a better veggie burger than you is time to up your game. Sorry, but have to be brutally honest. Come on chef, ur awesome with the rest of the menu. I know u can do it!
Ps, chunky chips on the menu would also make be cool 😁
K. M.
What a fantastic meal to celebrate our daughter’s special birthday. Never disappoints, with excellent food and service, and no rush to move us on. Thank you ALL so much.
B. W.
A fabulous little restaurant, great tasty food, with the right size portions. Friendly atmosphere, with attentive staff. The only things that stopped us from giving this place 5* are, we like continuity of staff, we were servered by no less than 5 members of the team and secondly the wines were extremely overpriced for the quality that they were. Nevertheless, the next time we're in town we'll be going back.
H. Z.
I was impressed for a while with how the restaurant evolved outside. It didn't disappoint inside. Restaurant has a nice, light New York decor. The service is good and staff well trained - not into your eyes.
Food is served in nice pace with no rush.
Now about the food - amazing.
We had for starters pearl barley crab risotto with chili lime and garlic butter and smoked haddock ,prawn charred and corn chowder. Mains were chicken and chorizo burger with rosemary fries & beer battered fish with spiced mushy lentils and fries.
Deserts: mocha crème brûlée with white chocolate cookie and strawberry and white chocolate panna-cotta with nut granola.
Really tasty food. Worth visiting. I will definitely go back.
D. T.
There were the added interest of filming on the outside seating whilst we were there. This didn't detract from the attentiveness of the service or the quality of the food.
N. E.
Had a superb meal in Cypress Avenue tonight. Really delicious, extensive vegan menu and amazing cocktails! The pomegranate fusion was so good I had 3! Looked after really well from start to finish....even when we went outside for drinks after our meal. We will be back here really soon and will recommend to everyone! Thank you Cypress Avenue!
G. K.
As always, service in CA was snappy and the food was good. An excellent selection to brighten up a dark Sunday evening in Belfast.
I. B.
Excellent food and excellent service. Reasonably priced with superb food choices. The vegetarian and vegan menu is really well put together with a multitude of options. Would definitely eat here again!
M. O. T.
First time visit and it was most enjoyable. Chris our food server was first class charming, helpful and knowledgeable. Lunch was great value for money will return for dinner soon. A very welcoming restaurant.
P.
Such a nice ambience in the restaurant, staff are lovely and it's beautiful as well. Cocktails are lovely and the food is delicious. The squid starter is unreal as is the scallop with black pudding, chicory and egg
S. F.
I love this place. The food is beautiful, the staff are friendly and the cocktails are amazing. Would highly recommend
B. B. l.
Had another beautiful lunch up here :) I had the chicken with green peppercorns and it was amazing as was the truffle cauliflower cheese!! Just always a lovely experience and the staff are just wonderful!! Thanks so much!!
I. f.
Loved the cocktails.. very cool ambiance. Great food.
J. F.
Had the most glorious Sunday lunch. It was turkey and all the trimmings. So beautifully presented and a treat for the taste buds. Our waitress was awesome I am sorry I didn't get her name. She was so attentive and couldn't do enough for us. We will he back!!
P. d.
Had breakfast here.
Lovely surroundings!
Good service.
Cinnamon french toast was a bit dry and didn't pair well with the bacon.
The hickory croissant was very tasty.
Tea was served with a heated cup, this was fantastic and ensured the tea stayed warm enough to be enjoyed when the breakfast was sent down.
Parking is very limited.
K. F.
We went for dinner and honestly couldn't fault it! It was our first time going out for dinner with our six month old, they had a highchair ready for us and kept our pram somewhere out of the road. I had a few dietary requirements and they dealt with these so easily, they made it clear on the menu what I could/couldn't have and adapted stuff.
The food was amazing!
We only had mains and didn't get desert as our wee one was getting tired but I'm sure it would have been fab too.
Really child friendly and allergen friendly!
A. M.
Great meal at Cyprus Avenue early on this evening for our party of five. Two of us had the “Mallard Wellington” to share, which is the first time I have seen such an option on a menu. Tasty, and more than filling, with rare breast in pastry complemented by well cooked legs and liver on a separate dish with tasty root veg. Great service and friendly staff. Will be back again.
F. H.
Amazing. Food was sublime and dessert wine list just topped it off! Fantastic night!
B. N.
I think my favourite food on the island of Ireland so far. As a vegan I was blown away by the variety, eclecticism, quality and taste of the dishes on offer. I think I will try every one before I leave!
C. W.
Absolutely fantastic breakfast with the family and toddler ( 2yr old) the staff went over and beyond to make sure allergies were catered for and provided a fantastic activity pack to keep the little one entertained! Breakfast was delicious as always!
W. G.
Went for lunch with the Mrs to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Had the scallops to start and then the duck breast. Enjoyable meal in a relaxed atmosphere.
j. b.
Friendly staff easy app to reserve table. Reasonably priced and good choice of meals. I love it for their seafood and brunch menus.
S. P.
Had a lovely meal on sat night for our wedding anniversary. Staff were very attentive and supplied us with complimentary cava to celebrate which was a nice touch.
J. N.
Ate out here on he first of 4 nights out in a row for date nights with my wife as ours kids were away for a weeks camp.
Food was delicious and came at the right times, not too long or short a wait between getting and the courses.
Happily go again however, having been to Neil's Hill, Bistro Este (both at Ballyhackamore) and Balloo house in Balloo, we got the same course and same number of drinks in each and Cyprus Avenue was by far the dearest with 2 course and 2 drinks being £110, which was about £35 - 50 dearer than the others. And unfortunately as lovely as it was, for me and my 4 nights out, it would only rank 3rd best meal in comparison to the others.
But it was still a lovely meal but in comparison to the others it wasn't the best but it was the dearest
A.
Outstanding food, had the steak, lovely! desert was millionaire shortbread, beautiful.then a beautiful cocktail.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
G. M.
Loved the quirky menu selection, stylish interior and prompt and friendly service. Food was delicious so will be back again for breakfast sometime soon.
P. M. P.
Best service. Our server was great. Everything explained concisely and nothing was too much. Added to a special night. Great meal.
N. P.
The cooked breakfast made me very happy 🙏
d. e.
An unusual breakfast menu which challenged your taste buds. Most breakfast meals costing around £9. Only issue was very loud music that was playing hindered conversation.
A. B.
Perdect venue for intimate dinning or a good catch up snd dinner drinks with friends. Never disappoints
A. F.
Lovely atmosphere, great food (interesting menu), good size portions. Friendly, attentive staff. Reasonably priced.
S.
Through one thing and another had been trying to get here a few times but ended up booking for a Monday evening. Thought it would have been quiet but a nice buzz about the place. A nice varied menu with great selection of dishes and drinks. Especially nice to see a good pint of Guinness which always helps as well. Attentive staff at all times and very nice atmosphere overall. Another visit definitely required.
H. M.
Delicious food and excellent service . We felt as though everything that could be done to make the experience safe was in place 😊
M. M. M.
Although food was lovely, staff where nice, I did think the pricing was a bit much for what it was. I had a beef ribs starter which was lovely and a Sunday roast main which wasn't as good as the starter. Gravy wasn't as thick as I prefer but was a good attempt. Ordered wine and it came with a bit of Cork in it which for a fancy place I'd expect wouldn't happen but sure. It was fixed quickly and with an apology so can't complain. All in all I'd try again at some point but wouldn't rush back. Atmospher was calm which was nice.
K. S.
Delicious food, great menus for all tastes, particularly good vegan and vegetarian options.
A. B.
Food was delicious and amazing selection. Service was 1st class!
B. W.
First time here visiting our friends in Belfast. All in all an excellent experience for lunch on the terrace. Compliments to our server Becky who was friendly and cheerful.
P. M.
Bang on. Great food snd friendly service
D. M.
Great place to come and sit outside for food. Looking forward to going back for dinner. Menu looks great
D. W.
Great food. Huge choice on the menu and all very good.
B. K.
Absolutely fantastic food every time! Staff are friendly and very attentive. Excellent!!
J. M.
Comprehensive upmarket menu and excellent service, in contemporary surroundings ~ with a choice of indoor and outdoor seating.
Beautiful food, well presented ....
To be recommended 👌
K. S.
Good venue and tasty offerings. Menu may be a bit fancy for some people though.
J. R.
Paid a visit in November for lunch with an old friend. Ordered the small plates of crispy squid and boneless beef ribs, along with a side of chilli fries... Absolutely delicious and more than enough for anyone with a good appetite. Friend had chowder which was also fantastic. Have been before the extension but this seemed to be a real step up in quality. Service was great as well.
T. R.
Excellent outdoor dining option with patio heaters if needed. Breakfast menu is limited.
H. D.
Really enjoyed my starter of duck pancakes followed by the seafood lasagne and scampi fries. Great food, relaxed atmosphere with knowledgeable friendly staff.
G. F.
A very versatile, family friendly, dog friendly spot that isnt too fussy but also not boring. Their menu is big enough to have options for everyone for any given meal. The kind of place you can have a meal and sit there for hours if they're not too busy. Highly recommend!
A. H.
Excellent food and excellent service the breakfast was the best i have had in belfast we will be back thank you
p. h.
Had an amazing breakfast here Ill definitely be back soon
R. D.
Amazing turkey and stuffing dinner with all the trimmings.
M. N.
Didn't choose to go here I had a voucher from work for my 65th birthday so I decided to treat the family on a Saturday at lunchtime.
It was very busy but we had a nice table for the 6 of us which included 2 children.
The menu was extensive and creative and the food was superb.
The service was prompt but not invasive and the Guinness that I had was as it should be.
Would heartily recommend this place to anyone and we noticed they have a special table that seats 10. You will not be disappointed.
K. M.
Lovely food, great drinks selection, friendly staff... What more could you want
M. R.
Lovely place just down from Ballyhack. Staff were pleasant but the food was excellent. We had a main and desert and both were excellent. Couldn't recommend it more. Price was fair for the quality and atmosphere in the place. Really enjoyed it.
K. A.
We sat in the outside terrace as we had a dog with us. The staff were very helpful & the meal was speedily delivered & very tasty. The wine was excellent too.
D. G.
Fast and friendly service. Main menu had a great range of local foods and a vegan menu with thought and effort put into it, as opposed to just a salad and a baked potato! Fantastic selection of cocktails, spirits and wines to accompany their food menu. Always a lovely place to visit with a relaxed ambiance.
r. h.
Great food, service and company. All of the key ingredients to having a great night out.
Always a great experience.
L.
First time eating here and it’s easily become one of my favourite restaurants in Belfast. Definitely recommend if you’re looking great value for money! Restaurant was gorgeous, food was beautiful (I had the bbq ribs and cheesecake) and the drinks were great! Can’t sing the praises of the staff enough, everyone was so attentive and friendly! Will be back very soon to try the rest of the menu.
S. B.
First time I've been here, and honestly it's the best breakfast I've ever had, service is 2nd to none, and place is spotless
R. M.
Lovely cocktails, great atmosphere. Ordered 2 small plates which was generous and delicious, though one plate was cold (wasn't supposed to be!) think it was just because of the busy service. I'll happily try again, a great spot in Belfast.
a. h.
Food was lovely but duck not cooked enough for me.
A. M.
The food, the staff and service was amazing. My husband and I loved it. We will be back and we will bring our families and friends. What an incredible restaurant in the heart of East Belfast.
a. o.
Really lovely place, food was delicious, staff very attentive and friendly, lovely atmosphere. Stayed on for some drinks after the meal and it was no problem, will definitely return here again.
R. S.
Been a number of times - food is always great and the staff are always very helpful and courteous.
B. H.
A favourite go to when I'm in Ballyhackamore area. CA never disappoint with choice, flavour, presentation and staff knowledge and friendliness. Have recommended to so many people. Will definitely be back, soon 😃
P. M.
Went for brunch with my wife and son, great choice, food was lovely. Outside terraced area is warm and bright. Will definitely be back to try more from the menu!
P. H.
Service was excellent as was the food and the Lebanese wine. Obvious why it was busy on a Wednesday night.
J. S.
Amazing food, vibrant happy staff with electrifying atmosphere
S. R.
Fantastic food.. FANTASTIC staff .. such a relaxed atmosphere.. Great menu something for everyone.. place was spotless.. my only regret is I've only just found this place .. 10/10 if we had 10 stars I would be rating this 10 stars .. keep up the good work 👏
S. M.
Nicest food I've had in a long time, even better than deanes. Everything about this restaurant was 5 star, from setting to staff, menu, atmosphere and least not the food. Will definitely be back and can't wait to either. Would highly recommend this fantastic restaurant.
J. P.
I am gluten free and the staff were very helpful and the food was delicious and yes a table was booked .
L. G.
Have had absolutely stunning food here and slightly disappointing food too. Is a popular spot, is always very busy and they have great outdoor seating. I do love their little deli type section at the front of the restaurant, great touch. Despite a couple of meh experiences, would still return and recommend to others.
P. G.
Stopped of for breakfast and was throughly surprised. Stuffed mushrooms on sourdough bread with tomatoes on the vine poached eggs.
Fantastic not at all what I was going in.
Will call again.
L. M.
Visited this place for the first time this evening and it has now become my favourite spot in Belfast. Had the Mussels for a main, easily some of the best I’ve had in recent times and the sauce was outstanding. Followed it up with a Baileys Coffee which also hit the spot! The staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back!
E. C.
Loved it. The specials are... Interesting (in a great way!) Get their special cocktail. The food is great, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The corner shop has many wonderful local products. Honestly such a gem.
m. 2.
Could be good. Nice food let down by the service. One waitress appeared to have no memory whatsoever. I asked for the vegetarian menu, which she didn’t bring and the she came to take our order.
I asked if the breakfast menu was still being served. She said she didn’t know. She went off to ask and never came back.
Service was generally a bit slow. Order extra drinks plenty in advance of your meal because if you need a drink with your meal, it won’t come until after you finish, and then only when you have asked three times.
M. H.
Lovely food, lovely staff. I particularly like the all day breakfast, but there is more than enough available on the menu for the most fussiest of eaters. I'm looking forward to returning as soon as I can
C. S.
Our first night out in 6months, we have been very reluctant to eat out due to the pandemic and expecting a baby. We were delighted with how easy it was to book the terrace area online and knowing it is heated and covered means it is not weather dependent. Our table was perfectly spaced from other guests, we immediately felt safe. Even indoors had screens between tables and hand sanitizer available with servers in the appropriated PPE.
The atmosphere was lovely, relaxed and cosy. Our server was fantastic! Smily and knowledgable, always available when needed.
Great selection of food and great portions sizes for prices, I thought very good value for money.
Couldn’t fault the place.
Have already recommended to friends and family. We would definitely come back.
J. M.
Surroundings great, staff great, my fish was mush, just like mushy peas.
D. Q.
Food and service were excellent 👌
T. D.
Wow what service
We were here and had a wonderful meal. One of our group had intolerances to gluten and dairy and another spicy food. We were really well taken care of. Attentive staff and wonderful food. Will be back and highly recommend
G. F.
Good service and great quality food made from local produce
J. M.
Lovely setting..attentive staff..food tasted great tho too cold for my liking...rustled up in 5 minutes...so not served from the pass.
G. V.
Superb service, fantastic food and an excellent atmosphere
J. M.
100% recommend the to apple crumble cocktail
T. J.
First time out in a long time, well worth the wait. I had the Venison special which was delicious. My partner had the Duck, which was also unreal. Went for the side of greens which was done in a sesame sauce, it was really nice and went well with both of the mains.
We both had a couple of cocktails as well, again fantastic. Lastly i have to mention the staff, all were really attentive, excellent.
We will definitely come back, lockdown permitting.
H. G.
Nicely laid out bistro, friendly staff but background music made it hard to hear them with their mask on so missed out on getting their name and what the specials were. Good range on menu but food served luke warm, I've heard this comment from other diners. Tasty but main meals would benefit from a few more veg included as a standard side and a blast of heat 🔥.
A. S.
Me and my partner have visited CA for the first time. We were very pleased with our whole experience within the restaurant. We felt very welcomed by the staff, with no pressure or enforcment of wearing masks when walking into the restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing! The portions were big, beautifly presented and just so tasty! We were also able to pay by cash, which is another major plus for the restaurant! ☺️
V. R.
Great food but very long waiting time
V. M.
Super impressed with the valentine's menu!! Delicious food with great portions and the small menu was good value. Drinks were also fab.
B. C.
Nice decor and ambiance. Food was OK. Understaffed
M. B.
What a fabulous dining experience. The food was superb, the staff were so professional and pleasant - it was a joy! The combination of dishes on the menu is outstanding and so reasonably priced. The duck was beautifully cooked, the seafood lasagne was delicious as was the steak and the staff went out of their way to make a vegan equivalent of the soup of the day for my daughter. East Belfast is lucky to have such a top class restaurant team on their doorstep but I will definitely be returning the next time we visit our daughter in Belfast!!! Keep up the good work!!
M. M.
Absolutely beautiful food and fantastic service! Couldn't have asked for a better experience. The food is well priced and of fantastic quality. Our waitress couldn't have done enough for us. Plus they also gave us another free side so bonus points. Definitely recommend!
A. T.
I've been here a few times and it's always been a bit hit and miss. On this last trip it was definitely a miss. The starter of a selection of breads was a little bit stale and the chicken and chorizo burger was a complete miss. No flavour to it whatsoever. I'd expected a bit more from a place with such a good reputation.
b. m.
Food was amazing... absolutely full of flavour. But service was mediocre. Not offered dessert, tea or coffee. Had to ask for this and were then left again having to ask for bill without being offered any further drinks.
S. j. H.
If yr looking an outstanding meal and service this is the best place to be fine dinning at its best. I have never tasted food like it definitely deserves a review first time there and won't be my last. The tomahawk steak I highly recommend compliments to the chef and amazing staff x

Good food fairly priced, scallops black pudding and poached egg starter was very good, wine not bad either
R. O.
Lovely atmosphere and service was excellent Food was well presented and delicious All over a lovely dining experience would highly recommend
B. W.
Outdoor seating area is well established. As soon as there was a hint of rain the roof of the area was closed so that our experience wasn't disturbed by the stereotypical weather for Northern Ireland. Overhead heaters also present so you don't get chilly. Visited for breakfast - can recommend the Breakfast Pannacotta. Staff are friendly.
R. T.
Food is wonderful. Vegetarians and vegans have their own menu. Staff are pleasant and helpful. It's not expensive. Seating inside and outside in all weather. Give it a try , you won't be disappointed
C. D.
Top class, great staff unbelievable food. A thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. At a very reasonable price too.
S. K.
Nice food. Very friendly staff.

First impressions good. I like the interior slightly old fashioned styling and our starters of spicy squid and chowder were very good. Our fish mains were both a bit more average, the mixed grill badly filleted and bony, as well as too salty. Then the staff all vanished and left us for ages sitting with our finished mains for no apparent reason with no staff to be seen, for so long that I considered phoning their reception to ask them to clear them.
The butterscotch madeleines were pretty good, but my strawberry panna cotta was all wrong. Too many layers of red gelatine that completely loses the deep creamy point of a panna cotta. Then another annoyingly long wait after being given the bill before we paid. Why do waiters do that?
R. H.
Another visit to a brilliant local restaurant today. Great scallops with poached egg and black pudding starter, fab boneless beef ribs main. Had a slight issue with one rib not falling apart like the others (I'd been here a week ago and had the ribs then too) , but this was reflected in the bill -which was a pleasant surprise ! Customer service was excellent as always too. Cyprus Ave is always worth a visit , I've had delicious breakfasts, lunches ,dinners and group Christmas meals here over the last few years. Best to book ahead though, its popular.
J. W.
Went with my brother and daughter tonight and was very impressed. Food was excellent. Lovely decor. Great selection of cocktails and wine.
Standout though was our waitress . She was friendly, knowledgeable and provided just the right amount of service without being intrusive.
New local now that Baker Street is no more.
M. c.
Had breakfast with few friends, the restaurant had a nice atmosphere, the food was average,
the service was OK, we got little annoyed with different staff asking us five, six times within 15min after we finished our breakfast.I understand that we only had 1houre and half in the restaurant, but we were only there for 1hour 20 min in total. The Indian waitor was very attentive.
R.
Staff very lovely and lovely menu however for price some of the portion sizes of mains could be larger. One complaint was we had table for 1.5 hours before we had to vacate, plenty of time for us as we had plans afterwards, however felt very rushed out the door, one person was still eating their starters when everyone else's plates were lifted and the mains arrived. None of us were slow eaters either as rest of us had just finished minute earlier. Then half an hr before our time was up we were reminded for 2nd or 3rd time that our table was only for 1.5 hours so whole evening felt very rushed particularly for next half hour. No need for it as 1. 5 hours was ample time for us but could have done without the pressure, took away from a celebratory meal. One of our two baked alaska came out bit over done (brown compared to the other) but felt couldn't say anything, particularly as we had 25 mins left on the clock at that time and wouldn't have had time to fix. Don't think it should have left the kitchen like that to be fair.
L. F.
Had a lovely lunch with family and friends here yesterday. Great food and great outdoor setting. Charlotte was very welcoming and attentive to our group. Highly recommended and Will certainly be back again. Thanks very much!
A. K.
Always love a wee trip to CA, it never disappoints. Vegetarian selection is always fab!!
C. K.
Great service considering the current challenges. Sorry that I didn’t get the Christmas dinner, it looked good. Atmosphere outside dining was fantastic. Almost like sitting in Greenwich Village in the hustle and bustle. Another visit due soon. Fingers crossed. Well done team.
g. r.
Ok 👌 where do I start.
I took my friends for breakfast and it was a disaster.
3 Fry's
2 meat Fry's & 1 veggy
Coffee machine was broken 👀
Fry's were stone cold.
20 mins waiting on an orange juice and apple juice that was not fresh (from a concentrate)
Streaky bacon is supposed to be crispy (the fat was white which tells me the bacon is pre cooked and reheated, yet was still cold.)
Potato far (homemade potato smiling face) was disgusting
Wheaten bread stale
Eggs where cold
The veggy breakfast was just not right.
The staff where over run busy, noone check on the table.
When I was explaining to the supervisor her was interested and made me feel uncomfortable.
Wasn't offered a refund for the utter disappointment of a breakfast which is not hard to do.
Was robbed of near £40
Management said they will give us presseco next time 👀 I'm sorry I don't think I'll be back anytime soon....
C. M.
Excellent food, brilliant service. Nothing was too much trouble. Great knowledge of the specials and all dishes, and very accomodating.
The atmosphere was great too.
C. G.
This was a disappointment, I had looked forward to my first visit since the very tasteful extension both inside & outside.
Impressed as I walked in staff were generally very upbeat and enjoyed the excellent environment.
But the food was not great. We had two dishes and both had too much going on .....the flavours were lost.
I loved their emphasis on sourcing local quality produce, but alas it was 2 1/2 stars on the plate. Ambience pulled it up to scrape a 3. No plans to return!
M. C.
Hadn't been before but glad I did. Great looking place. The food was extremely tasty! Extensive wine and drinks menu. Very comfortable atmosphere. The staff were faultless and very friendly. It has outside seating as well. But as the restaurant is on the corner of 2 main roads, it can be noisy from the traffic. Having said that, I highly recommend going.
P. M.
I really don’t need to say much to justify it but all I would like to say is that the food was just to die for!! I can’t believe I haven’t ate here sooner. First class service too !! 100% will be back. Ohh and art work was the ticker go on big AJ
S. B.
Love this place. Never been disappointed. Last visit was on the 9th August 2019. Had the Smoked Haddock chowder as a starter. Best I've ever had. Boneless chicken thighs in satay with violet rice dumplings to follow was really good too. Only complaint from my wife was her meal, (sugar pit pork chop) could have been warmer. Our server was very pleasant and attentive.
M. T.
I was sent a Hamper from them as a christmas present, we had some problems with it but they were very quick to respond to my email, they were an amazing help and a delight to deal with. Additionally the food we received was delicious.
M. B.
Fantastic food and great service, highly recommend
B. K.
1st visit and we were very impressed. Comfortable relaxed atmosphere. Food was delicious. We ordered bread with dips, and a vegetable soup to start. We shared the bread as there was more than enough for 1 person and the soup was full of flavour. We had a vegetable curried dahl and a roast duck for mains. Both were beautifully presented and the flavours were outstanding. We had a coffee and a couple of drinks with our meal. Prices were reasonable for the standard of food. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend.
T.
Great restaurant, excellent food and service. Informal, but with very attentive and friendly staff. Had a very enjoyable evening with a group of six.
A. S.
I've been 3 times to Cyprus avenue and each time I have had outstanding service, food and atmosphere. Perfect part of Ballyhackamore, an even more perfect dinner date spot. Couldn't recommend more.
E.
A wonderful birthday meal with my family. Stephen our server was fantastic and the food was beautiful. Thanks ❤️
A. H.
The food is good but too often ended up in awfully positioned table.
Booked twice recently and stuck beside the busy waiter throughpass and also got seated at the entrance to the outside "terrace" right beside the main road. Just trying to stuff too many covers thru the door at the one time. Have been put off last 2 times we were there.
M. G.
First time here having driven past many times. The food was delicious. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff who were able to give good recommendations on what to try and were more than happy to cater for specialist dietary requirements. The restaurant looks to have good covid19 measures in place as well. Highly recommended.
P. A.
What an amazing find!!! Will definitely be back!
J. W.
Fantastic spot for a relaxed, high quality, weekend breakfast
V. ..
Super delicious food and amazing cocktails.
K.
Brilliant measures in place for covid.
Food was amazing
Staff are kind
A. M.
We went because they actually had a vegan menu, not just a couple of vegan options. We were not disappointed! The variety was excellent and the food was as good as it sounded!
J. R.
Great food & friendly staff. Would recommend to others
W. D.
Excellent food and service as always.
B. C.
Wonderful food wonderful drinks and wonderful service. Or I could still be drunk from the mountain of wonderful cocktails I drank or the fact that none of us had been out of the house for months due to COVID, either way it was great. Highly recommend!
D. M.
First time here and did not disappoint. Food, drinks and service fantastic. I had the duck main and my partner had the steak, both cooked perfectly. Friendly, fast and professional service. Would definitely recommend and will be back.
S. A.
Lovely atmosphere and beautiful food. Staff were polite and friendly. I thought we would be waiting a long time as we had not booked but we were seen to and shown to a table within a few moments. Very impressed- will be back!
R. J.
Great place a spot of lunch on a sunny day.
Corey fries hot the spot and the lamb koftas would be my main of choice. Will be back soon to try the chicken and Chorizo burger, looks good!
G. A.
Was crazy busy and service was a bit slow but apart from that all the food was perfect and very reasonably priced. Think we've been 4 times now, have never had a bad meal.
J. L.
Was quite excited about this place, lots of buzz and good reviews and as a vegetarian supposedly a good place to go. It's a shame it didn't meet the hype, for the carnivores it seemed to be perfect. However as is so often the case in NI the vegetarian options are not as good ... I had tempura veg as it sounded great, the best thing about it was the dips, aside from that it was bland and disappointing. The dish is similar to, but nowhere near as good, as a favourite dish at gastro pub we often pop into for a quick bite.....
So much promise for a veggie, but missed the mark for me 😐
D. O.
Very good restaurant great menu and very well trained staff and good value for money
C. H.
Another great dinner. Food great and quick.
J. M.
Beautiful interior and generally chilled atmosphere for breakfast/brunch. The food is good however the coffee is a bit disappointing. They currently serve nespresso but would love to see them switch to one of the great local roasters we have available.
l. p.
The food was incredible. Came for lunch and there was such an amazing menu on offer! It was very reasonably priced for the quality of the food. The service was excellent and friendly. I cannot wait to come back!
S. M.
Great restaurant. Great varied menu including a good selection of fish dishes. Lots of options for starter or main sized portions so great for lunch or those who can't choose! Very friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Separate vegetarian and vegan menus.
S. K.
Excellent guinness, Excellent food.
J. M.
Customer service was fantastic. I didn't like the food I ordered but it was due to personal taste. Quite expensive.
P. F.
Absolutely stunning food. Portion sizes just right. Flavours really good. Pork belly was as good as the best I've had elsewhere. All other members of our group said it was very impressive and well priced. Highly recommended.
M. M.
Delighted with whole experience. I have been meaning to visit for a while as highly recommended by friends. Well worth it. Fabulous menu although we enjoyed the specials and tasty extras available all in a buzzing atmosphere and very Covid19 friendly environment. Can't wait to go back.
J. O.
I really liked the food. It took me by surprise how good the menu choice was. This was casual/fine dining. I had the pork terrine special, followed by Monkfish served with squid bolognese. It was very interesting indeed. A little pricey for lunch, but worth every penny. 2 of us are 2 courses, both went for the daily specials, with a glass of wine and a beer, came to £60.
B. M.
Went for the "Eat out to help out" on a Monday afternoon. This might explain why the food was a bit average.
Menu sounds interesting and we tried lots of the small plates, but none of the dishes are likely to blow you away in a culinary way. The seafood lasagne was a particularly disappointing thing, with some nice seafood in a bland sauce topped with a bit of bread dipped in squid ink!?
Definitely ask to sit inside, we didn't and the tented atmosphere was weird and made it difficult for people to serve us as easily. The outside "tent" tables also mean that you are sitting on a floor with a camber, which feels a bit uncomfortable after a while.
We will maybe give the place another try on a weekend, as I know that it has been difficult for some places to maintain high standards whilst being inundated with customers but short on staff.
W. o.
Good food but a little bit pricey
S. M.
Nice vibe. Nice food, an original menu and tastes fresh.
A. G.
This is the best restaurant ever! Food delicious, different and hot!.
The staff are very obliging if you have any food intolerances. They are obviously very well trained, they know all the dishes inside and out. Also they are so helpful and attentive with a very pleasant manner.
The place, spotless and there is a fabulous atmosphere. I've been three times in the one week.....says it all!
L. B.
Tremendous lunch and really attentive staff A+
b. g.
My wife and I went to Cyprus Avenue for our anniversary the food was outstanding, we decided to sit outside under the canopy and the atmosphere was added by the friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Thank You for the perfect meal👍
Y. W.
First visit to Cyprus Avenue with its stylish decor & ambiance. Not pretentious but really comfortable & relaxing dining with good vibe back ground music. The service was excellent & any of the staff attending us were extremely pleasent & knowledgeable. The food & menu was exceptional & sufficient portion sizes to suit. We thoroughly enjoyed our first experience to this really lovely restaurant & it won't be our last. We would definitely recommend that you try for yourself but make a reservation as it always seems to be buzzing.
T. M.
Food was good with regards to quality and quantity soft drinks a rip off I appreciate these places have to make a profit but there's a difference between making a profit and taking the piss this was definitely taking the piss
M. H.
Came here for our anniversary as it'd been recommended by friends. Read Trip Advisor before I left with it saying very hit or miss. Definitely a hit with me. Very attentive service without being pushy. Initially told the table was for 2 hours but asked that evening and we could've been there for the night. Scallops to start followed by steak. My wife had the crispy duck followed by the monkfish washed down with several cocktails and a lovely Malbec. Would've had the Porta 6 red if I'd seen it on the wine list. Had an Irish coffee that was very small and very sweet. Apart from that can't fault CA or its staff. Will be back.
F. H.
Amazing food, great atmosphere and staff were super efficient and friendly.
E. M.
Visited here a few weeks ago, the food was delicious and the staff were really friendly. Highly recommend so will definitely visit again when I'm next in Belfast.
a. m.
First time visitors to Cyprus Avenue and definitely will be back our experience was fantastic and the staf and food were amazing🙌🙌🙌🙌
T.
Great place for a drink. Really enjoyed it.
P. M.
Excellent food, great atmosphere superb staff. Have been a few times now and am still eager to return. I love the Vegan menu. One of the best in Belfast!
M. L.
Beautiful meal and really friendly staff. One of our party was coeliac and all the waiting staff were very considerate of this, talking us through the menu and available substitutions. Food was delicious... high quality produce and beautifully presented.
J. H.
Very cute brunch spot in a leafy part of the city. Friendly service, great outdoor seating area (even in the bad Belfast weather) and tasty breakfast food.
s. o.
Monday night dinner with friends. The vegetarian menu was disappointing and the portions were small. My sister thoroughly enjoyed her Hake but again had to order more from the side order as it wasn't enough. Overall not great
D. R.
We visited Cyprus Ave on New Year”s Eve and I am not exaggerating when I say that it was the singularly best meal I have eaten !! I had Squid to start with Beef Wellington as my main which was to die for ! finishing with a twist on lemon meringue for dessert. The service was impeccable, friendly and welcoming from young vibrant staff who made our experience all the more enjoyable.!! I can not wait to go back and sample more culinary delights !!!
S. W.
The resturant was bright, spacious and nicely decorated. We seemed to arrive after the lunch rush but unfortunately service was very slow. We had to ask to order and the food took some time to arrive. It was also very difficult to get anyone's attention and when we did it felt as though we were a hassle.
Food - the burgers were delicious, topped with ox tail and salsa, a nice touch. One of the our party ordered boneless ribs, he said they were cooked well but the sauce was bitter and tasted earthy (?beetroot) and heavy with ?red wine. When he ordered BBQ ribs from the menu he expected sweet ribs. This did not come with chips so for £3 we ordered chips as a side, which was far too small. The last dish was fish and chips, served with lentils. The lentils were tasty but felt like a strange addition but more disappointly the fish was dark brown and grey throughout. This put the diner off completely so we asked for the fish to be taken away. This dish was kindly removed from the bill without asking but the manager explained there was nothing wrong with the fish as it was collie. At £14 for fish and chips we were very surprised and disappointed that such a cheap unappealling fish would be used.
Cost - for 3 dishes and 2 diet cokes our meal came to approx. £50 for a late lunch we felt this was expensive, considering some of the food and in particular the service.
We did leave some feedback to the manager who was very nice and apologetic.
D. C.
First time here for me and my partner. Despite not having hooked a table the staff were very accommodating. The menu was fantastic and the food, service and decor was exceptional. The sticky toffee madeleines are to die for!
C. M.
Just out of the place and we loved it. Food was fantastic. Very fresh tasting and beautiful to look at on the plate. Only downside was there was only one beer on draught. We will definitely be back.
K. M.
Food was outstanding, Cocktails were beautiful too.
K. K.
First time here and will not be long before I will be back. Food fantastic. Great atmosphere and very friendly welcoming staff. Its a must try restaurant as flavours in every mouthful so different. Go on give it a go.
D. M.
Amazingly full for a Tuesday night. Good food service and value
J. G.
Absolutely fantastic food for very reasonable prices. Fine dining quality as far as im concerned with varied and interesting dishes at each course. Smaller restaurant so fairly intimate but well equipped and with excellent service.
Z. L.
Love this place, can't wait for the next time 😁
C. W.
Great breakfast and even better service.
Can't wait to try again the next time I'm in Belfast.
J. S.
Beautiful as usual ,and good service to match ! Thanku
J. R.
Really nice place to eat and chill out. The service and customer service was good but can be busy so book in advance
R. R.
Fantastic Family friendly breakfast. Highly recommended anything bacon. So crispy!
B. 2.
Had a nice lunch, burger and chips. Wife had fish. Excellent meal and good service in a nice environment with a warm ambience.
M. H.
Staff and service have improved since last visit. Food still very good. Does lack parking due to main road corner location.
G. J.
Great food, lovely clean place with very friendly staff - Definetly be back
S. R.
Amazing food as always! Never disappoints. Friendly relaxed atmosphere but very high quality food.
R. K.
Delicious food, mainly seafood based but lots of meat options also and very helpful with vegan or vegeterian options.
Service wise? I must say some of the best service i have ever had at a restaurant! The staff were all very knowledgeable about all food and drink on the menu, even had a recommendation for a port which was spot on for with the dessert.
Place i wouldnt recommend for kids as cozy and few people seemed to be on special occassion dinners or first dates!
Overall fantastic, can not speak highly enough
J. T.
Great food, lovely atmosphere and great staff
R. M.
Beautiful restaurant surroundings, delicious food and lovely attentive staff! A great place to go with friends or family!
C. N.
Decor was excellent, a really great atmosphere and the staff were excellent, really attentive. The food was mediocre though - served on twee brown plates and while presentation was poor, the ingredients didn’t seem to be a good quality. I’m due to try it again later in the week and hope today was a one off.
E. M.
Nice ambience and friendly staff. The food was a bit disappointing compared to what we were expecting and the Guinness on tap wasnt great
M. M.
Great place! Looking forward to returning
A. T.
Food was nice but not outstanding, reflected by the fact that I can't remember a single dish that I ordered. Though others in my group raved about the the pork three ways for main and scallops for starter. Nice buzz about the restaurant.
T. C.
Great new restaurant
with a lovely menu and attentive staff, yes there is a small wait whilst your food is cooked to order but well worth it.
The only downside is the restaurant is on the corner of a junction with no available parking, meaning you have to use nearby streets but this does not alter the fact its a gem.
H. B.
Exceptional Nut Roast takeaway dinner. Full of flavour, packed with vegetables and so tasty. We will definitely order again. Thank you. 5 ⭐️
C.
Only had breakfast so far. Great coffee, friendly service. The fry is almost up there with Gordon Ramsey's in Heathrow T5 (if you haven't had one, make sure you do).
D. B.
I’ve came here for breakfast and dinner and I’ve enjoyed both times! The fry for breakfast and the Christmas turkey dinner won’t disappoint you.
A. R.
Nearby to where we live, it is reliable place to take visitors as food is good, interesting and evolving menu likely to be a talking point. They have a nice outside eating area for the few brave smokers among us, or dog walkers who want a bite to eat (our dog welcomed and provided with water on a warm day while others enjoyed the sun). Would be 5* if there was a little more shelter from the elements, e.g. glass panels to protect from wind and I personally prefer more vegetables, so order a side dish if you are the same!
J. B.
Really good selection of fresh local food. Nice patio area, well heated and friendly and informed wait staff.
D. M.
Classy food, wonderful service. Good day out
p. r.
Best restaurant in Belfast. Great food, excellent service.
H. A.
Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and surroundings. Enjoyed a birthday dinner here with my two daughters and husband. We all loved it. Have also lunched and brunched in it. Always a pleasure!
K.
Beautiful food, great atmosphere and excellent staff
P. C.
Very comfortable atmosphere and amazing food (especially the beef ribs). The staff were very friendly and service was fast! Will definitely be going back.
J. B.
I would be very surprised if this place held on to its Michelin star. Dont get me wrong the food was ok, no reason to complain. I just didn't particularly enjoy it. My wife's dish was so salty though she couldn't finish it. I tried a bit myself and had immediately take a drink of water
A. D.
Delicious food and atmosphere. Very pleasant and accommodating staff.
P. M.
Called in for lunch and had fish and chips, was the most fancy fish and chips I've ever had. The sauces were so lovely, fish was delicious & not greasy. Highly recommend!
S. B.
Lovely food and excellent service - parking is a problem however as they don't have a car park, just be wary of that when making a booking.
P. B.
It was deadon food was lovely atmosphere not so good but I choose the terrace so going to go for inside next time
C. C.
Gorgeous food, lovely drinks and friendly helpful staff. Felt safe with good covid measures in place.
B. G.
Great food.good value and very safety conscious....a really good night and all eight of us well catered for . Looking forward to next time.
Z. M.
Great food at great prices. The staff are really lovely too, they brought out a bowl of water and some sausages for my dog when we were having breakfast outside there too :) 10/10.
F. M.
Spontaneous lunch date with the gals, had cheeky cocktails because that's my business 😎 honestly amazing food and killer vibes, going to book for my bday...
C. S.
Service was a little slow, but wouldn't prevent us returning. Food was good
C. W.
Fantastic food and cocktails. Always recommended. Never disappointing.
R.
Food was gorgeous, cocktails great, staff lovely and a wonderful atmosphere
g. m.
Really great vegan menu, reasonably priced, very accommodating, friendly excellent staff. keeps getting better and better. i would recommend the vegan breakfast and mushroom pancakes
W. M.
Friendly helpful staff. Excellent menu and very good food
L. C.
Breakfast mimosas awesome!
L. T.
Loved it! Brilliant food, 1st class service. Can't wait to go back again. Book in advance as it was packed and I was there on a Tuesday!
P. S.
Good food "cooked in house", Wine is a little expensive. Great attentive serviceand wonderful ambience. The bar is limited in stock.. dubious designer gins. Can we get Nordic Mist in NI, Fever Tree a spurious iminitation; and no Grand Mariner (Red Label is best)..
C. C.
Staff were friendly though took an age to get the vegan menu, had to ask twice. Food was lovely, a little different. Price was average.
H.
Beautiful. A wide range of food and drinks. Beautiful place. Nice people.
M. G.
Fantastic service and food as always. Great atmosphere and the food was incredible
J. M.
If you go here make sure you book a seat outdoors, atmosphere and food was phen and the staff are so accommodating and lovely to talk to :)
N. F.
Cyprus Avenue has really upped its game in the past 6 months. It's not only the main food on your plate that is delicious, but what they serve with it. The flavours all together are fantastic. If you are going to Ballyhackamore, this is the place to go. You won't be disappointed!
H. W.
Beautiful meal, beautiful atmosphere, our server Ben was pleasant, helpful and very friendly. Highly recommend!
m. o.
Some lovely dishes. Unfortunately, they’re liable to arrive before starters have been cleared. Request for a knife seemed to be too difficult for our waiter. And maybe some of the lady diners don’t want to be addressed as “guys “
B. B.
We really enjoyed our food & the staff were great. I'm sure we'll be back again soon!
D. M.
Love this place. Great food and great service. Can't wait until we can revisit and get a jalapeno margarita.
T. M.
Delicious lunch in the outdoor area - always love the duck pancakes when I visit - tasty as always. Good set-up for covid all the staff with masks etc
K. M.
Party of 7Adults & 4 kids - evening meal. Several of the adults expressed disappointment with their meals.
Not sure I would rush back!!
J. Y.
Excellent staff, service and food menu, I would recommend
M. E.
Fantastic food. Creative and delicious menu items. Friendly wait staff. Be careful that you don't miss a Belfast celeb lunching at the next table!
J. B.
Brilliant food and service , A lovely experience from the moment we walked though the door to paying our very reasonable bill !
Pity is we don’t live in Belfast and will have to wait for our next trip to revisit this gem of a restaurant.
P. B.
Had brunch here, the food and service were excellent. The cheese board was a particular highlight.
s. c.
Overall, I was disappointed. Restaurant looked fab and I had heard brilliant reviews about this place but I wasn't overly impressed. The service was slow and the food was average. Portion sizes on the small side
r.
Beautiful food ,lovely atmosphere especially when the weather is nice and you can enjoy your food outside staff were very friendly , and helpful 😀
t. c.
Beautiful food, great staff, lovely outside area.. Would 100% recommend to any one
F. H.
Delicious food with a fantastic, wide ranging menu. Good service.
C. J.
Brilliant food, good atmosphere, amazing staff.
P. W. H. H.
We visited today for breakfast after a mix up with our order our whole order was complimentary ! Staff could not apologise enough and the food was amazing, fantastic twist to breakfast. Will most definitely return
D. C.
Great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lovely staff, traditional tet elegant atmosphere with delicious food. This is what Belfast is all about
G. N.
Great menu, food and service was fantastic.
M.
Great little place. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The food and service was amazing. Definitely be back. Well Done 👍
T. G. B.
It has felt like an eternity. Although we have enjoyed some fantastic “at home” kits from many of our favourite eateries, nothing quite compares to the traditional restaurant experience, and we just couldn’t wait to return to Cyprus Avenue, one of the very best in Belfast.
The CA team have really gone to town to ensure that the customer feels comfortable, and most importantly, safe in their amazingly inventive and expanded outside terrace.
The updated food and drink menus feature some new dishes, but lots of the old favourites are still there.
We enjoyed a glass of fizz (thanks Aveen!) while we perused the menus, then got down to the serious business of lunchtime cocktails! Well, we felt that we deserved to push the boat out. It’s been a long time since we heard a cocktail shaker that wasn’t our own! And can we just say that the CA Old Fashioned was well worth the wait!
Waiting for us at the table was a bread selection with hop butter and CA’s wonderful tapenade which we made short work of while we ordered our food.
The starters included;
Crispy harissa spiced squid with avocado and mechouia salad, Bbq pork and Sporeshore mushroom dumplings with black vinegar dressing, tenderly sweet scallops with chicory, black pudding, and a poached egg,
Kimchi cabbage dumplings with Asian slaw and a chilli dipping sauce, a spiced beef raviolo, and a wonderfully pink pigeon breast special.
After a “rest to digest” ( I think we’d forgotten what great value for money Cyprus Avenue’s small plates are) the main courses arrived.
The red lentil dahl with curried cauliflower, raisin, coconut, and poppadums is a filling vegan treat with a gently comforting heat.
The Grange Farm chicken cooked in Long Meadow cider was moist and delicious, served with Corndale salami and potato gnocchi.
We can never resist a fish special, and Cyprus Avenue had two on the menu; a whole plaice served with prawns and curried cauliflower, and an East Coast seafood mixed grill, both championing local fish suppliers.
A shared dessert or two always brings a great dining experience to a satisfying conclusion, but three? When they’re as good as Cyprus Avenue’s sweet temptations, why not?
The chocolate and passionfruit tart has a surprisingly savoury smokiness, and had a very grown-up dark cocoa hit.
In total contrast, the Baked Alaska with its light, fluffy mound of meringue cloaking a zingy mango sorbet and surrounded by coconut shavings is an indulgent sugary treat.
And somewhere in between lies the creamy Raspberry & white chocolate cheesecake on pistachio sponge topped with a crispy macaron. Sublime.
Thank you Cyprus Avenue for a fantastic lunch with attentive service from a great team for whom nothing was too much trouble. We’ll be back very soon.
