Reviews of Deanes Meat Locker

Excellent! Friendly and efficient/quick service when the restaurant was almost full. Had a delicious NYE lunch, beef brisket slaw brioche bap, Asian shredded beef and a ribeye steak, all delicious :-)
K. H.
My meal here was good and average. We started with Korean chicken wings and risotto both were good. Then chateaubriand this was average we asked for med rare definitely more rare to raw and the chips were dry I didn't complain as we haven't been out in a while and didn't want any stress. Staff excellent and atmosphere was nice 🙂
L. S.
We went to seafood branch. Wonderful experience. Food full of flavour. Original and very contemporary dishes. Nice atmosphere and 5 stars service. Food heaven.
Make sure you book a table well ahead, as gets very busy.

Deanes was a lovely experience, staff where friendly and we arrived early and had no wait time. Restaurant was quiet as it was mid week. The menu isn't exactly exciting, starters weren't appealing and we're few but I think it's the type of place you go for the mains. Myself and my friend both had the £38 12oz aged steak and it was delicious however not worth the money in my eyes, it was a third fat which I wasn't expecting so about 4oz gone there. I'm not a big steak guy so not sure if that's how it's supposed to be served but you buy it in a store with fat so it must be! Apart from that the sides where great - special shout out to the onion rings! It comes with mushroom and was disappointing there was no option for fried onions. For desert we had apple crumble and a chocolate thing with coconut ice cream which wasn't bad but not as good as I was hoping. Deserts always let places down. Where's the chocolate fudge cake at I say! Haha all in all I'd go back and try a different steak but staff where waiting on us and didn't have to ask for more water or for more drinks as they were prompt and attentive when we were low. Certainly worth an evening out!

Had dinner at Love Fish (Deane's) last night... I had the scallops dish and we shared a selection of olives. It was divine. The desserts also nailed it. Lovely evening spent there. Recommended 100%

Wonderful food and incredible staff. The Meat Locker Burger is absolutely amazing. One of the best burgers in Belfast. Will definitely be back!
S. C.
Best steak I've had in Belfast. Cooked to perfection. All food and drinks were so nice, and the service was spotless too. Would highly recommend this place!
A. T.
The food was absolutely delicious! Couldn't choose a favourite dish if I had to.
A. W.
Christmas lunch very nice. Traditional fayre. Went for steak sandwich. Pepper sauce far too watery. Didn't like having to pay for side of veg even though it was delicious. Hate fact that ladies toilets are upstairs. Lovely venue
C. S.
Wonderful. Really special food, lovely staff and the atmosphere is super relaxed. The cheese board is unreal - beautiful local cheese in epic proportions.

Absolutely fantastic - everything about this restaurant was superb. The food, the service, the staff - we had an excellent experience here.
Normally, when my wife and I go out for a meal, one of us would chose NOT to have a steak as our experience to date is that most restaurants are unable to cook them properly. I like my steak medium whilst my wife prefers hers rare - when we both used to order them at the same time - at least 1 of our steaks would be over cooked - so we stopped having them at the same time.
However, here at Deane's Meat Locker - we said we'd try it again and we were so glad we did - both steaks arrived to our table perfectly cooked.
The flavour and quality of the steaks were amazing. I went with the Irish Whiskey & mushroom sauce for my steak - and it enhanced the steak perfectly. My wife opted for the pepper sauce - and while she said it tasted great - she felt it could have been a little more spicy.
For starters - my wife chose the scallops - which were cooked perfectly. I went with the mushroom risotto - which has to be one of the finest risotto's I have ever had. They added, what I would reckon was a lemon oil, to it and that little hit of sweet freshness at the end was truly inspiring. If I had one fault with it - I would have reduced the amount of mushrooms and increased the volume of rice.
We didn't opt for dessert - but - we enjoyed the meal so much we immediately booked a table for the following night.
If you are in Belfast and you want a really, really, really, great meal & dinner experience - I would highly recommend Deane's Meat Locker - such an amazing place - can't wait to go back.
A. R.
Was amazing, went there with my partner and some friends and the food was amazing and service was amazing. I couldn't fault anything about this place. Would highly recommend
D. Q.
Dean's, what can I say, excellent, every course was exceptional in taste and visually and the fact that Michael Dean is standing at the pass overseeing every dish that leaves the kitchen makes your meal seem every bit more special. Top marks for a unbelievable meal, the staff here are fantastic too, their knowledge of the menu and their attention to you as a customer is top class and something other restaurant owners should note. Couldn't recommend Dean's highly enough. Fantastic
S. M. F.
Just returned from an evening at the Meatlocker, what can I say! From the moment we arrived it was a very welcoming experience. Very straightforward and speedy service from start to finish. Party of 6 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed every course.
The dry aged rib eye was very enjoyable 👌

We hadn't been out for so long and decided to treat ourselves to a visit.
I'm a little bit sceptical of places were the food is at higher than normal prices because restaurants don't always live up to the standard expected. So i'm so pleased to report that it was worth every penny.
The Staff were friendly with just the right amount of attention. The food was excellent, full flavoured steaks cooked perfectly and that whiskey based sauce, exceptional. I wasn't drinking as i was driving but i had a sip of Deanne's own beer and it was really nice.
Well done to all! I'll be back to visit your fish restaurant next month.

Dined here as part of a group booking with work, Great atmosphere, service was excellent and could not be faulted. However the meal served was outstanding and cooked to perfection, the Irish fillet was amazing, tasty cooked to perfection and one of the best fillets I have had. It was great to see a the chefs at work. When I go back to Belfast this will be a must revisit
M. S.
Fantastic works dinner within. Had the Korean beef starter, just wow! and the Chateaubriand for mains, hard to find better on this island. Great work MD it was a pleasure.
F. T.
Good salt-aged beef, and good service all around. It is strongly advisable to make reservations, else you may have to wait around 15-30 minutes for a table during dinners. (We took the opportunity to relax by the bar for a drink whilst waiting, which was just as nice!)
T. D.
Outstanding meal! Only complaint I have is bring back the triple cooked chips done in beef dripping!
M. H.
Nice restaurant and helpful staff, but the food was disappointing..
J. W.
Gorgeous meat, cooked to perfection, just melts in the mouth. Fantastic service and wonderful atmosphere.
[In picture: Lamb and feta burger served with sweet potato fries]

1st time here and the food was amazing, service was great and there was good spacing between the tables, felt very safe great atmosphere in the place, will definitely be back
B. M.
Fabulous steak dinner, quality wine and top class service. What's not to like!
J. K.
Great place, cozy and warm. Good staff.
Steak was very good. The dessert was ok, but the Irish coffee.... Excellent!

Fabulous restaurant for a special occasion was my husbands birthday, best steaks we have ever had cooked to perfection beautiful starters of scallops and goats cheese tartlet a little pricey but worth every penny was absolutely delicious
F. K.
Friendly staff. Relaxed. Food superb. Great value for money.
I. f.
i had a baked seabass. very mouth watering.. it was soft and juicy and not dry. staffs are nice and friendly and always there to helped. Classy and cosy ambiens.. they have clean toilets
L. H.
The food was amazing so delicious and the staff is friendly nice setting- overall great experience. (Fish and chips/sticky toffee pudding/crab & celeriac on toast/ scallops smoked bacon & fennel)
M. C.
Great steak, a little pricey, very good service as well. Carpaccio starter could be better. Had the T-bone and rib-eye. The T-bone was quite a bit better, have had nicer rib eye
S. G.
Hannan's Prime Rib for two was perfection on a plate. This is the best steakhouse on the island of Ireland.
C. M.
Went here to nite with my wife tonite and only got into the place and were told we had to leave by 6.45 well I didn't think that was very professional also waiter ask my wife do you want salt not would you like salt any way she said yes and he replied well there salt already on the chips again not professional why ask a customer then even if there was salt on the chips still should have got the customer salt
T. C.
Amazing Rib Eye steak . Cooked medium rare as ordered. Béarnaise sauce was amazing and so were the fries. Staff were very helpful and made sure we enjoyed our meal as much as possible. It is a little expensive. Prepare to spend £30+ for a steak. However it is definitely worth the price. My recommended dessert is definitely going to be the passion fruit sorbet. If you enjoy your steaks then this is a place for you.
C. S.
Amazing fish dinner with fresh oysters and perfectly cooked sea bass. Even the one person in our group that did not eat fish was very satisfied by the steak.
S. A.
Brilliant service, friendly staff, 1st class food.A1...100%
.
R. R.
I had their set meal - got what I paid for I guess but still was surprised at the plating, made it seem like I got a meager portion. The mushed peas here were the beast I ever had and the fish was decent. Staff are friendly and he environment is very pleasant
H. R.
Extensive menu and good range of wines and beer. Rather expensive but excellent quality steaks. Other meats, fish and vegetarian also available. Friendly and attentive staff. Usually busy so book ahead.
M. O. T.
Don't know why anyone would go to a mediocre restaurant and pay crazy prices when you can have a wonderful meal in love fish for what was great value for money. Service decor and ambiance all excellent.
M. B.
Great food every time I've been here. Part of a chain of restaurants. Quite an upscale place. Food is superb in Meatlocker. If you like beef this is the place to come. Last time we had a £70 Chateaubriand for two. Expensive but well worth it. Beautiful meat cooked perfectly.
J. J.
Lovely food, staff and surroundings. Can't fault them only for pricing. Fine dining in Belfast needs a bigger menu which caters for the audience as we had no choice of kids meals when we had a 9year old with us who would never eat a main meal. We ended up sharing 3 dishes between 4 of us as couldn't justify an adults meal of over £20 for a child. Just a thought as I'm sure other people were in our situation. Maybe next time we visit it will be an adults only nite. As I said before food was fantastic but small things maybe need thought about or ironed out. Keep up the good work 👏👍
M. B.
Superb steak and incredible prawns. Had the chateaubriand, med rare, would highly recommend.
A. X.
Great steak. Starters were very old fashioned. Service was appauling for the prices you pay. 5/6 pounds for a bottle of water and they don't even pour the thing 🤧
J. S.
Absolutely beautiful food, first time going and it lived up to its reputation. Went to the Love Fish section of the restaurant and every morsel of food was to die for, will most definitely be back, cannot wait!!!
a. p.
The food was great, went here for my wife's birthday and went for starters mains and desserts. Also had prosecco and a bottle of wine and wasnt overly expensive in the end.
W. B.
We absolutely loved Deanes, funny scottish server, Michael Deane came out and mingled ....Food was absolutely delicious.... fish supper was the best we ever tasted!! Definitely be back on our 16 year anniversary xx
J. N.
Food was amazing, staff and service was excellent. Lovely atmosphere. Just a really nice night out.

Good service, quality local food, simply cooked.

Exquisite food in classy surroundings, the staff are very attentive and the whole dining experience is fabulous.

Nice restaurant. Steak was just OK not great. Good service and the Malbec is good and well priced. Overall thought the restaurant is a little pricey for the quality. Might be worth trying the adjoining fish restaurant.
A. D.
In Belfast for the first time and was recommended this restaurant. The chowder the fantastic Rebecca suggested did not disappoint! Fab atmosphere and great service. Thank you!
T. M.
Great food and wonderful atmosphere!!!
A.
Great dinner, good service, will be back
O. G.
Beautiful food , nice atmosphere and great service
A. G.
Food was delicious but expensive. The restaurant decor was a little tired and needs updated.
W.
Stringent COVID arrangements in place on arrival, plenty of space between tables and a lovely relaxed dining experience.
The chateaubriand was fantastic and the side of chips, mushrooms and onions was lovely.
Desert was equally nice and the meal was rounded off with a selection of cocktails approved by the wife!
Really impressed with the quality of the food and it was great to see the owner taking a genuine interest in the service to his diners.
Great first experience!
P. O.
Great food & wine, seafood platter is a must get! The staff were brilliant & are an absolute credit to Deanes - 1 in particular (unfortunately I don't know her name) gave my girlfriend & myself plenty of restaurant tips for places to eat in Portrush & Portstewart.
F. M. K.
Food was beautiful, staff were friendly and efficient.
P. o. N.
Our ultimate best restaurant in town , in our opinion
L. P.
We arrived late, so they'd run out of the day special - go early, it's worth it!
L. S. F.
Had a great lunch there, if it was in the city of London, I wouldn't be able to afford to go in there.
P. G.
Excellent food and presentation
Very enjoyable lunch where all three customers had different items from the menu and all were satisfied and pleased.
L. M.
Nice place, tables a little close together, other tables conversations are a little too easy to overhear for my liking. The food was beautiful, both to taste and delviery. We had particularly good rapport with a Glaswegian gent however the other staff were a little stiff, no doubt they did a great job just it's nice to see a bit more personality.
V. K.
Food was fantastic with great service and lovely surroundings and an added bonus was that the table wasn't book after us and we got to sit on and have a few drinks ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
P. K.
Absolutely Gorgeous food! Perfect for special occasions. My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here before COVID happened. Would recommend!
S. B.
great restaurant with fantastic staff. food is always good and the lunch menu is amazing value
C. V.
Fantastic meat based restaurant in Belfast city centre. It is not a cheap meal- however the standard of food makes it great value. Sorry that I haven't tried it before. Great service, little touches like the water for the table make it a touch above. The staff friendly, polite and above all friendly. Good work
P. W.
Good food and service.
Nice ambiance about the place
Definitely one to keep in mind for those special occasions.
M. “.
Unbelievable food and service
P. C.
Amazing food, great atmosphere and great service.
M. S.
Excellent meat along with a great selection of wines. Great service. A must if you're in Belfast ;)
N. F.
Just been to Deanes Meat Locker for the first time. Phenomenal food and wonderful service. I had the scallops to start, then Chateaubriand ( which was amazing, as were the beef dripping chips) and then shared two deserts. One was a sticky toffee pudding which i normally don't like- but this was something else. Great wine and cocktails too all in a great atmosphere. You have to try it .
S. M.
Food lovely. We ate from the set menu our party of 3 ordered Burger and two lamb dishes all of them were very nice however we were advised to get a side order with the lamb. Without the side order we would have been hungry. Service was very good and overall a lovely experience we will be back. Lovely friendly atmosphere.
A. H.
Fantastic meal, I'd the sirloin cooked to perfection with chunky chips and peppered sauce, absolutely delicious. My fiance had a burger, best tasting burger I've ever tried. Definitely be back, slight hiccup with my Deane's card but didn't spoil the evening. Great service too and very attentive and prompt.
J. W.
Always go here for pre theatre dinner, Great value and good food Great fish and chips . Staff seem to change alot but are always friendly and efficient. Recommended.
S. M.
Excellent steak, scallop appetiser with bacon and chocolate fondant
G. M.
Burger really good, steaks cooked only average. One slightly over and one slightly under cooked. For the price of £35 per average size steak you should expect perfection. £171 for three mains, two sides, one bottle of wine, one vodka, water, one dessert and one coffee. Not good value for money. For this money you would expect melt in the mouth perfect food. Difficult to complain as there was nothing terribly wrong but nothing terribly right. Disappointed and we will not be returning for a third visit.
C. W.
Great food, good staff.
o. f.
Excellent food
S. B.
Quality food and pleasant staff coupled with great company made for an excellent evenings dining.
Scallop, black pudding and cauliflower puree was delicious and the T bone was fantastic if a little on expensive side.

Ate here Tuesday night by myself. I live in Chicago with all the world's best steakhouses nearby, so I will be reasonable in my review. The atmosphere was really cool and I was given a table next to a window that I could see the chef preparing all the steaks. I did wait 10 minutes for the waitress to first make contact with me and I ordered a sparkling water and glass of cab. I went with the ribeye (med-rare) the goat cheese and beat salad and onion rings. The steak had a good flavor but was very fatty. 1/3 of the steak remained on my plate - too fatty to eat. The french fries that came with the steak were excellent but I can never get used to the UK ketchup - way too sweet! The salad was cleverly put together and delicious. The onion rings were doughy and flavorless - really disappointed with these. It was expensive and just a bit of a nit-noid complaint: nobody is against childhood cancer and I'm happy to donate. But don't leave this mysterious charge of 1 quid on the bill and force me to ask you what it is. You should either ask or point it out when you bring the check. I will probably give Deanes another go. I do love the gratuity culture in the US - servers at the finer restaurants definitely work harder for you - but not here in the UK.
G.
Absolutely beautiful food, lovely Atmosphere and good staff. Will definitely go back and probably before we go to the meatlooker it's that good.
R. W.
Lovely food and staff , would we go back perhaps on another special occasion food could not be faulted chilli beef starter was a meal on its own , steaks cooked to perfection, surf and turf an extra £6 for 4 prawns for some a bit to much but they where so tasty as was all the food tonight .
The 3 of us enjoyed our meals it lost a star because of price and 2 diet coke's turned up when we ordered diet Sprite poor excuse and not much of an apology.
We still had a good time.
J. C.
Fantastic service, seating well space out for covid, staff all wearing masks properly and the food was absolutely fantastic!
P. M.
I had the rump steak. It was perfectly cooked with that real chargrilled flavour. He'd chips were good too. The waitress was good fun without being too chummy. Toilets upstairs so I don't know if there is an accessible one downstairs -I expect there's bound to be it's such a modern place. Altogether a lovely experience. I would go back.
T. K.
The staff were perfect. The Scottish waiter was super funny and the waitress’s were so so nice. I told them last minute that I was going to propose to my partner last second and they had a congratulations desert as soon as I popped the question. The evening was perfect!! And as for the food, OMG the steak was unbelievable!! Nicest steak I’ve ever had hands down! The garlic sauce was from another universe 😂 Defo be back for our anniversary! Thanks guys for a perfect evening 🥰
A. W.
Excellent staff..fantastic choice.for lunch time menu...and pre theatre menu..and always return for brilliant service....
B. C.
Really enjoyed the perfectly cooked salmon, good wine selection, friendly staff. Hard to find fault with anything.
d. m.
A delightful light lunch on a warm Saturday... Very friendly staff and great to see the Head Chef keeping in touch with his customers!
O. B.
I have never given a five star before. Everything was excellent. Obviously the food speaks for itself, it was outstanding the use of great local ingredients. Pure art. 50% of any meal is the experience which most chefs don't get that. The service was professional and friendly not over formal. The sommelier was passionate, knowledgeable but listened to your taste. There was a proper cheeseboard that all the cheeses were in good condition ready to eat. For me I am not rich it was a treat, it is a lot of money, but I felt it was exceptional value for money for what you get.
D. N.
Really great food and service was superb
Was good to get out for a nice meal after such a long time due to covid
J. “. P.
Moderately priced. Surprisingly simple menu, but good. Streaks are the most expensive food item. BBQ burger and Prawns are excellent, dessert was good as well. Nice atmosphere, attentive staff. I would eat there again.
A. W.
Great atmosphere....Starter fantastic..chowder.....and main outstanding ...fish.chips..peas..etc...coffee👌and the wine..🍷....perfect....We had Theatre menu....and brilliant service .....excellent staff....👌
C.
Great christmas dinner in the private dining room, the starter was a lovely goats cheese, followed by a 6oz sirloin steak, pepper sauce with chips, mash and vegetables, the dessert was a lovely chocolate moose. The staff were fantastic, overall a very enjoyable meal.
M. L.
Fantastic restaurant. Was there on a Saturday night with 5 girlfriends. Great ambience & fantastic food. Staff were all great and very attentive. Great choice on menu and specials. Definitely would go back.
V. M.
Lovely atmosphere and staff, food cooked to perfection.
S. M.
I don't actually est fish but the rest of my party are fish lovers and if you do like fish there is ample choice and meals are excellent. The staff in the restaurant very kindly and willingly accommodated my preferences by allowing me to pick from the meat locker Linen lunch menu and my steak was delicious! Lovely staff and lovely surroundings, one of Deanes many excellent restaurants
B. L.
Great food and service👍👍👍
M. F.
Very enjoyable lunch menu. Good value and service.
R. C.
Food good. . Fish portion very small service slow waiter made the night
L. O.
Fantastic is the only word to describe this restaurant and I'm not sure it does it justice. Food is out of this world, staff will have a laugh with you but are great at their jobs and the sticky toffee pudding should be a deadly sin. Very handy for the Opera House - you will not regret going here
J. K.
Had several awesome meals here, but tonight was a bit meh.
The squid starter i had was a bit rubbery, but the pork and black pudding liz.had was delicious. My steak (delmonico rib eye) was cooked to M/R perfection and had really good flavour, the sirloin looked pretty good and trimmings / sides were really nice, desert was awesome (chocolate mouse), Deans house wine delicious as usual, as were the cocktails.
The problem was the service. The waitress sort of gave the impression that she didn't really want to serve us and wasn't attentive in any way. Fair enough, it was a busy night, but still. Rescued by the fact that the waiter serving the next table to us eventually came over to look after us and he was really nice despite having his own tables to look after.
Other nights would have been 5 star. Tonight would have been 3 because of service if it hadn't been for the waiter (sorry i didn't get his name because he was really friendly and efficient).
G. C.
Four of us had a two course meal here on 6th June and couldn't fault it on any level. The service was impeccable, very much worthy of the 10% added service charge. The menu had great variety and was good value for the excellent quality of food. Would definitely return
M. S.
Very reasonably priced. However the menu has changed and the prices have increased. Still good value. I still prefer the old style French fries as now they have chunky chips which are a bit common. Come on bring the fries back.
R. D.
Menu good Reasonable value Service superb Casual dining with a degree of sophistocation Loved my cataplana
J. H.
Lovely resturant Food was excellent. Really enjoyed our visit😀😀
d. l.
Wow! Great food, lovely staff. Not just meat. Thoughtfully put together tastes for the best burger and an incredible paparedelle and vegetables.
D. M.
Booked this restaurant (The Meat Locker) to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary (9th April), whilst staying in Belfast on holiday. What a stroke of luck! The setting was wonderful, linen table cloths and napkins, plus the staff were outstanding. The food was well prepared and presented - so good that we booked again for our final evening in NI. Again a glorious experience - would recommend this venue to everyone. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
G. C.
Not to sure what to say. Went with high expectations and I think I've been let down. I had beef fillet with chips. Tasted ok but not anything special for the price you pay. Could cook to this standard quite easy myself.
I think I just feel let down.
M. M.
Seabass was beautiful and fairly reasonably priced.
M. P.
Oh my days. I came for the meat and ended up getting my mind blown by a pea soup starter. I didn't realise pea soup could be that tasty! Not to take anything away from the meat though, the burger I had was incredible, tasted like a quality recipe made with quality ingredients. Staff were friendly, professional and timely.
J. J.
Superb food and brilliant attentive staff. Keep up the good work folks 👍🏻👌👏
N. H.
Excellent lunch menu.food cooked to perfection and well overseen by deane himself
J. L.
I booked Deans Eipic as I wanted to treat my partner to an incredible eating experience and that was exactly what we got.
We chose the £60 tasting menu with the wine pairing and my tastebuds have never been so alive.
The food was incredible and the chosen wine went perfectly with every dish.
It was expensive as the total bill came to £260 but this was a special occasion and worth every mouth watering minute.
Thank you Deans for a memorable meal Joanne and Henry
D. M.
Went for lunch, very resonable for high quality food £6.50 main course, lovely pleasant staff quick service
C. M.
Had dinner there last night (Friday 25th May) before we headed into the SSE Arena for the Game of Thrones concert, the staff were lovely but the food was just perfection best fillet steak I have ever had we will be back. Thank you for helping to make a good weekend great.

We were lucky to be able to get into Love Fish on a Saturday night. Great food and a great value for the price. Plus the best part is the service which is amazing. Definitely a place to try if you love fish.

Went here for a special anniversary dinner and it quite honestly was just that...SPECIAL! Beautifully cooked food and a lovely child free atmosphere.
If you're planning a special meal or just want to treat your significant other (or yourself), then this is the place
M. M.
Epic is just a faultless restaurant. The barman is knowledgable and got us on to some really fantastic gins; The sommelier picked perfect wines to go with each course; And they offer a fantastic vegetarian menu! Simple and elegant decor, it's just a great place to go, pricey but the quality is absolutely worth it.
M. C.
We just had a really delicious meal Chicken Carbonara and Salmon . Really tasty fresh generous portion and such good value. And such friendly service at collection point which was extremely promt. Thank you
R. M.
Doesn't get much better than this. Fantastic place to eat
S. S.
Great food friendly and efficient staff but lighting makes menu hard to read.
D. R.
Good but be prepared for small portions of both food and drink. Is there a need for 10% service charge?Felt this insulting concidering covid rules.
S. M.
The only thing wrong with this superb place - and that thing is not their fault at all - is that yobs come in here and throw money around and then some get very drunk. It makes me very sad that these young ‘men’ think that they rule the roost, when they are actually just very sad. Anyway, Deanes - eject those loudmouth ‘Rubes’ and let us enjoy your overcrowded, over-priced burger joint in peace.
J. C.
Good food, good price with the lunch deal
N. G.
Not what it used to be!..apparent turnover of kitchen team, food lacked seasoning, texture and substance, mash served with fish although not mentioned on menu...(expect this in Welly Park hotel)...generally expensive for average grub...service however top class knowledgeable and friendly...not sure if I will return😑
L. M.
Best Fish and Chips I have ever had. Goto place for an informal dinner. Wonderful choice.

Super food. Had chilli prawns followed by a gorgeous Sirloin cooked to perfection. The staff were excellent. Good wines and reasonably priced. Highly recommend it
R. F.
Nice ambience, linen tablecloths and napkins but not stuffy. Hannans meat (dry aged) is the centre piece on the menu but a good range of other mains as well. Moderately expensive but not over the top.
K. L.
Superfood and lovely Chianti with great atmosphere inside. The salmon was super as was the chicken with brilliant side dish of roast veg
A. C.
Fantastic service and great food. Our waiter was excellent and ensured our wine glasses were never empty. Would definitely recommend this place.
J. G.
The food is of a high standard but the staff need some extra training, the fist time we went we found the staff un helpful and rude as they bookes us into the wrong day. On are second visit things where very different the staff was amazing and so was the food. Our complaints where taking on board and in my opinion this is the way it should of been from our first visit.

42 years married today. Just home from an amazing meal in Dean's. Would recommend it big time. Lovely place, great staff and amazing food. Loved it

Quite honestly the best Steaks in Belfast with premium service.
Clean comfortable surroundings within the heart of Belfast.
Excellent lunchtime menu, as well as a fantastic theatre menu.
Deannes Meat Locker is more than well worth a visit.

Great food and good pricing for an upscale restaurant.

Incredible food and atmosphere. The wine list also has something for everyone. I was very impressed with the sea bass - it was cooked to perfection! My small salad had incredibly fresh lettuce! Even the mini potatoes were delicious. It was a great night out. Glad I finally went there for dinner.
C. G.
I love this restaurant, great service, amazing food, best panacotta ever, glad to have you back, good luck moving forward

Belfast’s newest Michelin star restaurant, and only the second after Ox sets the bar high with food, drink, and ambiance. Getting a table is a tricky affair, but if you are willing to wait a while, you can get one far out. Entering through the attached Dean’s Fish restaurant, there’s a definite feeling of having arrived when getting to the upscale EIPIC portion through another door. The bar and small tables are great for a pre dinner drink with several cocktails and bubbly drinks available. After moving to the table (they only have about 10 and do only one seating a night per table because of the length of the tasting menu), food begins arriving.
There is an option of either a 40 pound menu or 60 pound which are largely the same with a few additions on the 60 pound one. You can also add a wine pairing with glasses or interestingly, shots (about half a glass) with each dish. We opted for the 60 pound menu and did shots until we got to the big full bodied reds toward the end and switched to full glasses. Each wine was carefully selected by the great and personable sommelier who served each and told us about them as well as why they were selected. The Rioja was pure perfection in a glass.
The food was stellar from start to finish. Each course built a little upon the previous and got more flavorful and heavier. Everything was quite light though and even after 10 or so courses and cheese, the feeling was more pleasantly filled than overstuffed.
The onion and cheddar bites served as an amuse bouche and got the party started. They were nice and crispy with just a hint of an onion and cheddar bite that didn’t overwhelm the prosecco or subsequent dishes. The artichoke and black garlic foam was creamy and fragrant without being overpowering again. The bread and butter was out of this world good with a nice crusty crunch and slightly salted butter, all obviously freshly made. The egg yolk with pork cracklings was probably the least favorite dish as it was a bit salty and the large yolk was a bit too much of the eggy texture. The cracklings were delicious though and the tiny mushrooms were playful.
The sea bass, dill, and hollandaise was a nice transition from light appetizers into the bigger entree courses. The dill and hollandaise was filling but herby in a fresh and seasonal way. The fish was extremely tasty as well but the sauce and dill really brought out the flavor.
The halibut was almost more of a steak as it was served as a standalone filet seared to perfection. The “bone” sauce added a nice heavier flavor to the meaty fish and went very well with the heavier veggies like cauliflower. I need to find their cauliflower supplier as it was the most unique I’ve seen with color packed red and purple pieces and tiny miniature versions as well.
The partridge served as the poultry course and was memorable for the bold move of adding little shavings of crisped black pudding to it. It was also served in a tasty “partridge” sauce with cabbage. The meat was succulent with both a breast and thigh with ample meat.
The venison was without a doubt the best course and probably the most traditional. The meat was a succulent rare cut with a beautiful sear and amazing coloring. It tasted even better than it looked and truly melted in the mouth. The pears were a nice citrus compliment to a heavy course and the pureed sauce added some more airy texture.
An incredible cheese plate followed with about 8 selections of various soft and hard cheeses including goat, local, and several french varieties. Each was exceptional and while it was hard to choose a favorite, I think I preferred the goat cheese.
A spiced apple slice with a crispy honeycomb was off the charts.
The chocolate and chestnut cake with toasted milk was next and as a chocolate and ice cream lover, this one hit home with me. The complex flavors of dark chocolate and chestnut were extremely rich and satisfying at this point in the meal.
Last was a crispy cracker with raspberry jam and almonds.

Very pleasant atmosphere and wonderful food.

We spend a lot of time fine dining out but we are always happy to have our special event and my partners conference dinners at deans. He loves it more than me. We have both travelled quite a lot over this past 6 months and have visited a lot of interesting places in the world. Esp cruises. And dined 5 star. But deans for us is the best. Esp when michael and paul have joined in our conversation and welcomed us in a very friendly manner.. thank you deans.
Cant wait to return . We really really enjoy your hospitality and true friendship. We recommend prime rib of beef. Brought to the table on hot plate for slicing. Our favourite. Food for a king and queen.
Mrs Rita Newberry... jordanstown

Booked the Pre Show deal for three of us. Late afternoon/early evening and the place was nearly empty when we arrived but soon started to fill up. Good choices from the Pre Show menu and we all opted for a starter and main. Straight forward fish&chips for our mains with chowder for starters. The meal was perfect and the service superb. It was our second visit to this establishment and it won’t be our last.
D. A.

For the price we paid it didn't stand out. Service was great only down side was the doors let in a massive draught when opened. They have tried to combat this with curtains, these just directed the draught to OUR table. Made for a very unrelaxed evening

A. S.
Had seafood chowder starter and monkfish main course, all were very tasty. Service was very slow despite the number of staff, 25 mins wait until they took the order, 35 mins before we had our drinks and 50 mins before our starter arrived. Two tables arrived after us but their orders were taken before ours. A service charged of 10% was added for three of us whereas most Belfast restaurants charge for a group of six or more. Mixed feelings about this restaurant so would not rush back.
N. N.
This also has a great seafood menu.
