D. V.Note that this restaurant does not serve meat on their menu. The server is very nice and accommodating. Food is good, unique with also good portions. Will recommend for vegans. 4* only as for me i think the place needs updating. Service 5* and food taste & quality i will give 4.5*.
S. C.Read the reviews before booking and we were not disappointed! Shared 5 'small' plates between two of us which was the perfect amount. Super tasty with a variety of spice levels. Drinks were very nice too - non-alcoholic passion fruit cocktail and ginger beer were great. Staff very pleasant and a cool vibe - would highly recommend!
S. A.Good food. There is a lot of variety for vegan and vegetarian dishes as the entire place is vegetarian. Drinks are interesting as well. The dessert was on point. Portion sizes are great. My only complaint would be the eagerness of the staff to clear tables as it disturbed our conversation on multiple occasions but definitely a place to reckon. I will visit again!
A. A.Absolutely fantastic food and cocktails. Lovely atmosphere! I had the Hungley- I think it’s one of the best dishes I’ve had for a long time. The pickled pineapple was delicious! However, I’ve only given 4* because the service was up and down. But overall would definitely recommend a visit- you will not miss the meat!
S. C.Probably the best Vegetarian/Vegan restaurant in Northern Ireland. Not a huge fan of Vegetarian dishes personally but I really enjoyed all their dishes. Wide range of cocktails/drinks as well which is always a plus. Definitely give it a go if you like vegetarian/vegan menus. Oh and their food was served literally like 2 mins after we ordered. Fastest service ever 👍

I didn’t love what I ordered - the broth was great but there wasn’t really anything substantial in there - I found like three slices of thin mushroom in there and the rest was kimchi cabbage - just not a ‘hearty’ meal I guess! But i would still come back to try other dishes!

C. V.The Jumon Ramen is a very interesting turn on a classic ramen, associating Japanese and Korean delicacies. The rich kimchi broth really stood out for me. The service could have been friendlier, hence the 4 star rating.

Place was packed - bustling inside and out with the live music venues next door - told 30 minute wait, I said how about the bar for a drink- no worries- host then notified window table were going to hang longer so I suggested we'd eat at bar - previously told they wouldn't serve us there- they obliged and drinks and food served within 10 minutes - get the Califlower starter the Korean fried rice and whatever else but those are my recs...and the 2020 drink top of menu...wow! Cute bar tender also!

M.Decent food and efficient service at the start. Just watch the bill. 10 percent service charge, which most people would pay anyway plus option for an extra tip, who would pay a tip on a tip. An extra bottle of wine added on which we didn't order. The receipt was taken away as soon as we paid so nearly missed that one.

Pity we went for the Tacos rather than a curry as they were pretty basic and nowhere near a good at the other dishes . Really great wine , service and ambience. Worth a visit .

H.I just had a lovely dinner there with malacca laksa and potato salad. Laksa was a bit spicy but the lady taking my order was kind enough to warn me beforehand and suggested me a nice potato salad as a side and it was just the perfect balance 👌 I was by myself and the gentleman welcoming the guests was super nice as well. He arranged a place in front of the window for me and made sure all is well. Food was tasty and the service was impeccable. Because I have seen reviews here about a compulsory tip, I have checked the bill and there was no tip added there even though I was happy to pay because they definitely deserve ☺️ Thank you very much for the experience! ❤️
F. T.I used to love this place. The all Vege/vegan food was lovely on previous visits, different from other places and a nice vibe. The atmosphere has changed a lot and really not for me anymore. The music was very loud bassy electronic, hard to talk over and not fun to eat with. The place feels pretty poorly ventilated, cramped and small with an open kitchen. Staff smoking grouped outside door when we arrived so walking through smoke when entering. The last time I was in the service was pretty hovery and rushed too. Pity. Overall we didn't stay this time for food this time and won't be back.

I liked the idea, the vibe, the cocktails, however the place is for a very specific crowd. I have to admit, having lived in Asia for a really long time I was hoping for something a little more authentic when it came to food. Authenticity is there however if you have been to a Bali dude surfers bar and you are looking for a Kuta vibe ;)

S. B.I didn’t realise the focus on vegetarian options when I arrived in this restaurant but for anyone who is seeking out such cuisine it should be considered. The decor is interesting, with exposed concrete walls covered in graffiti and basic wooden chairs. The kitchen is semi-open which is great and the waiting staff are brilliant. They’re friendly and happy to take the time explaining individual dishes and how the menu works. There’s a good range of dishes and vegetarians will be particularly happy with the choice. Unfortunately I did find the spice level guide rather incorrect, with indicated spicy dishes mild and visa versa. Each portion was large though and the flavours were really good. The small plates gave a good social experience since they were large enough to pass round the group.
Overall it was an enjoyable group meal but not the full Korean experience I was hoping for given the lack of meat. The interior might not be to everyone’s taste but look past it and you might be pleasantly pleased; I’d happily return.

We had been eager to try this Asian fusion vegetarian restaurant since it opened, and finally, last night, the stars aligned and we found out what all the fuss was about: simply excellent service, colourful eye-popping decor, and sensational meat-free food.
The new menu is divided into two sections-“Smalls” & “Bigs” and as the incantation at the top states, “The secret to abundance is sharing”.
We began with the Kkanpoong Tofu: gochujang glazed crispy bean curd in a poppadom, Cigar Rolls stuffed with ricotta, kimchi & aubergine, Celeriac and Potato salad with soy marinated egg, and Konchijeu: a deliciously oozy mozzarella and charred sweetcorn dip.
We then had Sayur Lodeh: a creamy jackfruit curry with a lovely sweet hit of pickled lychee, a terrific tamarind-rich Pad Thai, and Mandu Tacos generously topped with aubergine, avocado, Asian greens, mushrooms, salsa verde and smoked cheese.
Jumon’s mantra states, “I can’t control everything in my life but I can control what I put in my body”, and what an absolute pleasure to enjoy healthy food as flavoursome as this. Jumon Dreams indeed!

Had the fresh gadogado salad to start with a cucumber ginger breeze non-alcoholic cocktail, then a main if tacos and Dahl (odd combo, but indecision resulted in ordering both). Only wish they hadn't run out of the chocolate dessert but there's my excuse to go back again!

Perhaps someone can alert HRMC that a thirteen year old appears to be running this restaurant?
Zero complaints about the food and service but have to warn everyone about Jumon's weird 'discretionary charge' - when presented with the bill they add a 10% 'discretionary charge' which they claim is a charge you can either choose to pay or not, however the staff heavily pressure you to pay this charge despite it supposedly being optional.
Sorry but what fresh American hell is this?
For god's sake either leave people to freely tip at their own discretion or pay your staff proper wages and increase menu prices. Most uncomfortable bill paying experience of my entire life.

t.Thursday night, friends up from kilkenny and despite singing the praises of jumon there is always the awkward moment you advise the friends 'no meat'... Then when your wrestling one dish after another off each other, eyeing up everyone else's food in the place, and repeatedly say OMG after every bite you realise your eating somewhere great. Jack fruit curry is my personal favourite, oh and the chips, and the special cauliflower dish, and the taco's. Everyone full and impressed. Got to be the most flavoursome food in Belfast. Staff are amazing too... Know every dish from experience and talk about them with enthusiasm. Unreal!

Great food, great cocktails and a great gluten-free options. Second time I persuaded my wife to go there for lunch (so no cocktails), but the service was even better - friendly cheerful and prompt. The food was very tasty as always, but the main courses dishes were piled high with noodles and sauce, but sparse on the veggies. Still tasty, but for a vegetarian restaurant this reduces the incentive to return.

L. O.Visited on Monday during the “Eat out to help out” promotion although my husband and I just wanted to eat out not take advantage of this. The starters were excellent (we got the cauliflower and broccoli/kimchi starters). The mains were less so, the dishes seemed fairly confused and not cohesive and for a vegetarian restaurant didn’t have many vegetables which was disappointing. I left the restaurant feeling extremely bloated.
I was also very disappointed about how social distancing was handled. We were sat on the same table as another couple which was quite anxiety provoking and none of the staff were wearing masks. Although the waiting staff were very nice they got very close at times. I wouldn’t rule out going again but probably wouldn’t visit for quite some time.

My girlfriend and I had been threatening to visit for a quite a while, but admittedly we are complete carnivores we put it off on a couple of occasions. How wrong were we?? One of the most original, tasty meals I've had in Belfast in a long time. Not once did we feel short changed by not having meat in our meals. A real revelation, if on the fence about the lack of meat, but enjoy Asian cuisine on the more adventurous side, don't hesitate to give this place a whirl. Some of Belfast's best, and a real example of how much Belfast's food culture has moved forward in the past 5 years. Top notch!

Absolutely fantastic food ... sooo damn tasty! Excellent staff, good atmosphere, nice beers and reasonably priced considering the very high standard of the cookery and ingredients. Yes it's vegetarian/vegan but this should be a reason to go, rather than avoid. Who needs meat when the food is this good? I'm already planning my next visit. Highly recommended and surely one of the best meals out in Belfast.

The menu is a little daunting but the waiter took a lot of time to walk us through it and explain what each thing was. All of the staff were really attentive asking if we needed anything else and clearing our plates. I really enjoyed the whole experience.

R. D.Been here twice, once with non-veggie friends, they loved the food which is quite an accolade. I can think of few negative points, the food is gorgeous and if you like it very spicy then some of the dishes will not disappoint. We're currently working our way through the menu :} with great delight I might add, so far the offerings have been really delightful, the house tea deserves a mention, it's different but very pleasing. The default method of eating is with chopsticks and the structure of Asian food certainly lends itself to that, one negative, the chopsticks are black and shiny and any wear on the business end shows and looks quite unappetising, disposables, imho, would be more acceptable, a small point which certainly won't put me off. Knives, forks and spoons are available on request. All in all a very welcome and desirable restaurant to have on Belfast.

M. S.Sadly, not impressed. Decent kimchi ramen, but some other fast-food bits that now sit very heavily on my stomach. I had some cauliflower fritters that were deep fried in a very soggy, thick butter, and taster very bitter.
This is a modern looking hipster place with a small menu which looks very promising. Sadly it didn't live up to its expectations, and does not entirely match the description. Also, I would say that for what it is, it's overpriced.

UPDATED Review 2020: much better service and stellar food - one of the best meals we've had in years. An extra star for the service and one for the quality of tge meal. Sometimes a meal is a collection of separate tastes but it should be a harmonious symphony of flavours - this was the latter. Well done, Jumon.

The service was excellent. The free refills of black tea with ginger, other spices and brown sugar was delicious and greatly appreciated.
We had no idea what any of the food really was or how it would be presented so we both took a risk and absolutely loved it. ‘Siem reap risotto’ and the ‘Palo’ were both gorgeous.
I have brought friends and sent other friends to go as well and they have all loved it.

3* for the food: too spicy; anybody can cook spicy food... The bits not spicy were actually pretty much tasteless; 3* though because of some innovative touch
2* for the service: with no reservation but despite the place being almost empty, they gave us a table for 1 hour; at desert time, with the place still pretty much empty (less than half the tables) and only 50min past, they asked us to move to leave the table and move to the bar; at that point the place was occupied at about 30%!!! Ridiculous and rude!
The average of 3* is kind of generous...
