P. W.Loved our starter and main tonight. The squid and duck were wonderful. The ginger beer battered fish and chips could have been a little more ginger but good with good chips. Strange that when asked for Malt vinegar waiter offered only white vinegar? Never heard of that in my 69 years. He indicated that Malt vinegar was a strange choice. Maybe a Northern Ireland 'thing'. However service was normal. Somewhat attentive without being intrusive. A few more check backs would have been nice although we did have a wonderful time and may or may not have ordered more if asked. Smashed peas were awesome.
C. V.I really enjoyed the fish which came with tartar sauce. The fish was tender and delicate, just absolutely delicious. However, the spicy smashed peas on the side failed to impress me.
M. M.Booked our table a week before our visit. Adhering to track and trace.lively bar and restaurant with a real buzz. Food was delicious - pork belly cubes were succulent and so moreish and my fish was huge with crispy light batter. The staff were friendly and professional and had a bit of craic with the customers. I would recommend their French martini - well done to the very busy barmen.

S. W.Cool, low lighting setting in here. Good comfy seating areas. Really nice staff. Not a great selection of wine if that's your poison, and the constant American sport on mute on the giant TV got quite annoying as the flashing images clashed with the dimmed lights vibe the place was going for.

R. A.I happened upon this lovely bar whilst waiting for a few hours for my flight from Belfast back to London. I treated myself to the ribeye steak and a bottle of the primitivo. Both were incredibly delicious, the chef is a real credit to the establishment. The staff were genuinely fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful and attentive.
We don't visit Belfast often, but this is a guaranteed visit when we do return.

M.Had lunch with friends in Sweet Afton named after a cigarette brand popular in Belfasts industrial hay day. There was plenty of space at our table and we were attended by brilliant staff, everyone enjoyed there lunch with drinks. My only down point would be the toilets did not smell Sweet and maybe need cleaned more Afton. Good location for city centre.

C. “. W.Needed somewhere to stop for lunch and was pointed towards the Sweet Afton. We not disappointed. I went for the burger and fries which was extremely tasty. My daughter had a vegan option which again was well prepared. My son ordered small (starter size) chili squid which we a main meal size in reality. My wife's chicken sandwich huge. Relatively fast service given the time of the day. All washed down with an ice cold Harp. Staff were polite and service was excellent. Highly recommend a visit to Sweet Afton any time of the day.

C. C.Have eaten here a few times and always really impressed with the food. Had a chicken burger with chorizo jam. Menu selection was excellent and prices for city centre of Belfast felt very reasonable. Got served my diet coke in an iced glass which was a really nice touch. Music wasn't too loud. My mum has a broken leg and staff were very accomodating. Highly recommended.

C.I was enjoying the song and the staff that was going to our table was lovely, but we got very disappointed after the security guy just told us to leave the place in a very rude way and we weren't doing anything to be treated like that. So what happened was my fiance just stand up and danced on his place, the security guy just came to us and told us to leave like we were doing something really bad, I tried to talk to him nicely but he was really rude so I'm afraid to come back to the place and be treated that bad again. I know it was Saturday night but he looked like he wasn't happy seeing people having fun. I could understand if he just said to my fiance that he wasn't allowed to dance so we had to leave but the way he said was like we were really doing something too bad.

C. M.Pretty good City centre bar which is well positioned for hotels, restaurants and taxis. Multiple screens for football and sporting events. Decent staff who have a helpful attitude. Like most Belfast bars it is expensive which means there can be more tourists than locals. Even with the city just opened up again after covid this is the case. Still it is worth a visit if in town for business or pleasure.
L. o. b.Went here today for lunch, liked the look of the place. Got a table straight away. The food was absolutely delicious! Each dish was so tasty. We all enjoyed our food so much. The hummus was spectacular. The staff were great, the chef came out to talk to us and even asked if we'd like some extra steamed veg for our toddler. Would most definitely recommend this place, it was the nicest food we had on our trip to Belfast.

M. R.Normally only find myself here for Friday lunches and I normally enjoy them. Saturday evening is a different story. After arriving at 5:10 and going right up to the bar counter, my friend and I had to wait 20 minutes before we got out drink order in. I still can't explain why the staff were so slow and on several occasions took orders off people who had arrived after us. After our pint we left and I doubt we'll be back, not even for the Friday lunches.
G. M. H.Good food and stylish interior. There's a real old classic feel to the décor, similar to the deep South in America. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and didn't take long to arrive at all. I can imagine this place is busy over the weekend but I went on a Monday evening and it wasn't busy at all. Would definitely recommend.

D.Speaking from own point of view. This is a nice little lively bar with friendly staff right in the heart of Belfast city centre. We come here often either to finish or to start the night. Live music every weekend with some great talents. Sports like boxing and rugby on TV during the night which is an added bonus depending on the crowd visiting with. Haven't tried the food yet so will be revisiting my review once that's out of the way. Recommend having a few here that's for sure.

A.Lovely place. We made a reservation here for dinner and drinks. The food was amazing and the service was second to none. There was live music on which kept the place lively. Everyone was in good form and the local were so lovely. The door men were friendly too. We should have only stayed till 8pm but we didn't leave til after midnight. Highly recommended

The Bang Bang Chicken starter Pork Belly main were both particularly outstanding. Would have also been a great place to stay for drinks well into the evening too!

D.Managing Staff are a bit cheeky and always seen to be having a bad day unlike the barman an women, although it could have just been a bad day for him it still doesn't justify ruining other people's experience. So other than rude managers and dear pints the foods actually not to bad and wireless chargers are a great touch as that seems to be most people's problem on a night or day out.

T. L.Shiro, a new entrant into the Belfast Culinary scene, is most definitely a place to see and be seen. The waitresses and hostess are clearly focused on their next modeling gig, but the food was pretty good. The setup is nice but very open and almost has a stadium seating vibe. Try to get one of the corner tables to have some semblance of privacy.
Though they have beer on tap, it isn’t listed on the menu which features exclusively on cocktails, so I instead opted for some Chai. It was served magnificently and tasted just as good, especially on a day that was quickly becoming dreary.
The menu for lunch was on the limited side, but the duck wrap stood out. It was a superb choice. Well except for the slate plate which weighed more than all the food together. The duck was tender and slightly crisped and the wrap was well stuffed with veggies. The sauce added a nice tangy saltiness as well. The fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned great.

If you're more high brow and want somewhere for a quiet bite to eat in the afternoon, it's probably pretty sweet. Cocktails were expensive and didn't have enough alcohol 👎🏻
