Reviews of Baked In Brick
M. B.
Well, I’m no influencer. But I do love amazing food & Birmingham. So when people bring their A-game to our city. Cook outstanding food. Brings jobs, everyone will follow. No one should ask for a freebie. If you do, you’re scum. This is the award-winning Bake in brick. If you are from outer space or just have not tried the food here. You definitely will not be disappointed. The pizza is good. But if you time it right, the Sunday roast is next level 🥰
S. W.
Great interior, the food was impeccably good and well located for Digbeth… went here for a bite to eat before going to a VR escape room in Digbeth. Went on a Sunday, fully expecting a Sunday Lunch (since on the website it says on Sundays they do them), but sadly found out these are only on special occasions, although unfortunately it doesn’t state these Sunday lunches aren’t every Sunday. There is mention of ‘pop ups’ but I thought these were something else.
Anyway, the bad luck of no Sunday lunch wasn’t too bad since we got to sample the normal menu and wow… the ‘BiB baked eggs’ are incredibly good. I had the chorizo and it was bursting with flavour! If you’re going for lunch it definitely fills you up well and was very impressed with the price! Also tried the char Sui which tasted amazing, albeit a bit cold.
All food was beautifully presented, the place was very clean, interior was nice and staff were friendly, although service was bit slow. Definitely want to come again to try the Sunday lunch I missed out on, but highly recommended in itself
C. R.
One of the best Sunday lunches I have ever eaten!
The staff are incredibly attentive and polite.
The pizza is amazing and is like a proper pizza should be.
Highly recommend picking up some baked goods on your way out too. The bread and cakes are incredible.
This is a place not to be missed out on!

Pizza is out of this world. I’ve eaten a fair bit of pizza in my time 😊 all over the world, even in Naples the home of pizza and I can honestly say this is up there. The dough is amazing and they have a great selection of toppings. Also love that they have a great selection of local beers and natural wines. Staff are also super friendly and attentive. A must visit when in the area.
j. h.
Campione excellent and the pork belly pizza lovely. The area is great and the Baked in Brick is great. Big thumbs up.
H. S.
Lovely place to get lunch. Good food, I enjoyed the eggs special! I'll be back for a pizza next time too.
S.
Great venue for food. Food tastes awesome. Doesn't disappoint. Reasonably priced. Staff suoer helpful and freindly.

I just dropped by by myself without a reservation for lunch. They were thinking along and took me in. Only thing is that I felt rushed, because they gave me a table for 1 hour and it took a while to get my order. But the staff was friendly and my stone oven baked eggs with goat cheese were just divine! Good worth of your money.
R. M.
Every visit to BiB has been nothing less than fantastic. Hugely supportive and welcoming staff. Food is always tasty and Lee and the team are great examples of the hard working independent businesses here in Birmingham!
I. C.
Great team and service. Very tasty food, been following them since they were at Digbeth Dining Club and great to see they have a bricks and mortar restaurant and bakery now. Go and try them out!
r. p.
Such delicious food; great service during every visit, and lovely people. Always cosy in the winter but can’t wait to be back out in the yard for pizza and wine in the sunshine!
R. U.
Best Sunday lunch I've eaten in years.
J. G.
Very good food, slightly on the pricy side but you certainly get what you pay for! Highly recommended.
M. H.
I must say this was a lucky find this had a problem with my laptop so was nearby Mac repair and found baked in brick last year second visit I’m glad to say wasn’t a let down nice atmosphere, very pleasant staff and great food
C. K.
The best pizza and sides I’ve ever had! Will be returning again and again!
R. W.
Took my wife here today for her 1st time my 2nd. Best pizza in Brum , all fresh ingredients and friendly staff. Pleasure to visit this hidden gem in digbeth. Highly recommend
F. C.
One of my favourite pizza places in Birmingham and always get the warmest welcome every time. Lee and his team are brilliant.
E. D.
Great value delicious pizzas. They do a daytime deal of a small pizza (any choice from the regular menu) for 4.95 or £6.50 with chips or a salad. I had the Bianca funghi which was absolutely divine, one of the best white pizzas I've had. Mushroomy, Herby, cheesey 🙌
M. W.
Large group of us booked a table. Preordered our pizzas and sides which were delivered quickly and at the same time. Great service, amazing food. We will be back thank you
D.
The beef and mushroom calzone is unreal. Need to go back to try the Sunday lunch... Pints of Purity Lawless on tap too, what's not to love?
F.
I had made a reservation and once arrived, was seated within 5 minutes. It was quite busy with a lively atmosphere.
The service was good - my friend was substantially late but not once did the staff make me feel like I was inconveniencing them. Instead, I was approached a few times to ensure I was served and if I wanted anything. Once my friend arrived, we both quickly placed our orders and the food arrived within 15 minutes.
I ordered the Campione (Aubery Allen Beef Shin and Wild Mushroom Calzone) which was a decent portion size and came hot. However, I did think the filling itself could be slightly more for the price (£13). **I believe the actual menu prices are currently around £1 more than advertised on their website.
Overall, satisfied with the visit. There was nothing to complain about, but also nothing to rave either.
S. S.
Excellent pizza, good choice of food, good to see the use of Italian pizza flour. The restaurant did in many ways remind me of a visit to Naples, all that was missing was the Mediterranean sunshine, go to Baked in brick, enjoy, I'm going back
J. P.
Interior great. Wooden oven is legit. Got beef ragu and mushroom calzone. Dough was lovely and chewy while outside crisp. Seasoning was a little lacking but still a satisfying meal. Much recommend. They sell pizza by the slice as well so no excuse not to try.
J. K.
I came here with my partner and the food was lovely and fresh. Friendly service. Will definitely be coming back.
L. B.
Came here the other week with my friend we had half and half. One half was Vegan as we wanted to try something Vegan The other we had Tomato and Cheese. The pizza and dough balls where fantastic they where the freshest we have ever had.
The staff her friendly and helpful. When I saw street food on the window I had a very limited understanding. As I had only seen street food well in the street on the back of vans ect.
This was really nice to sit inside and see all the fresh ingrediants waiting to be used.
They use a propper stone baked ovan that not many use now. We shall be back again.
D. C.
Bring your mates. Bring your family. Come and experience the finest pizza in Brum (alongside Digbrew, Poli and Rudy’s)
—UPDATE— Lee, the owner, delivers a fantastic Pizza Masterclass course on the evening at Baked in Brick. He will teach you how to make and bake the finest pizza in Brum.
H. S.
Staff very friendly, seating and atmosphere good. Drinks were on the expensive side, pizzas priced well and are a good size. Unfortunately one Pizza was very burnt from the bottom. I should have said something on the day but I was with company and didn’t want to look like a moany joe
The other Pizza was cooked to perfection.
Went again today, the pizza was much better cooked perfectly both of them!
F. R.
Literally perfect pizza. Such a lovely story behind this place too. Don't hesitate, come and eat here!
S. H.
Really great pizzas, we take a large group regularly and it all goes down well with everyone. Good veggie and vegan options too.
J. L. (.
Just dropped in while we were in town, great place to eat with a good priced menu and lovely food. I had the duck pizza and it was awesome I would definer recommend if you are in the area.
A. W.
My Favourite Pizzeria great looking building very friendly staff, known the owner Lee through Digbeth Dining Club and his passion and talent is shown through his food and his staff always a pleasure to eat at any of his establishments.
N. L.
One of my favourite places in Birmingham - been for pizza and roasts and every time it’s been superb. Highly recommended.
C. S.
I'd had pizza from these guys at Digbeth Dining and now they have a restaurant they still don't disappoint. The pizzas are delicious, staff friendly and the Sunday lunch my friend had was great. These guys are a great addition to the Birmingham independent scene!
t. d.
Went for the Sunday roast recently, possibly the best roast I have ever had, worth every penny and the staff were great!
S. A.
Food is amazing, the venue is lovely and the staff are wonderful. Can’t wait to go back and spend my money there!
D. B.
Nice place and a good contribution to the independent scene in Birmingham. We tried their special which was beef ragú calzone. It tasted very good. We also had kambucha which I found to be quite expensive for what it is. Overall we were really happy and I would recommend the place.
B. C.
It's obvious that Baked in Brick use quality ingredients but every time we visit (3rd time last night), the results are mixed.
The pizza crust is always undercooked giving a doughy consistency, but the bottom is somehow burned too! The toppings and menu choices are fantastic, however.
Service mixed as a portion of fries never arrived and it took two attempts to get it off the bill. Craft beer was served in a warm glass ruining carbonation.
It could easily be an amazing experience but is lacking in consistency across the board.
c. s.
Been to the restaurant, service was great and food was awesome!
Also visited at street food events and always awesome food!
B. S.
WAY more than just a pizza restaurant - fantastic daily specials (Today, Masala Cod with Cumin and Coriander New Potatoes £8), sarnies and salads. Brilliant vibe, really friendly and informed service, great drinks choice. Love it!
F. C.
We called ahead on the day we visited to make sure we had a table. I told them we were bringing a dog and this was received with genuine enthusiasm. When we arrived we were given a really warm welcome. The staff ALL said hello to us which was so nice of them, it’s an open kitchen and even the chef greeted us all. The service was faultless throughout our meal. The waitress brought a bowl of water for our dog right away. We couldn’t decide on what to order because the menu is so good. There was a wide range of tempting meat, veggie and vegan options. We each had a pizza and a side of the special garlic bread. I opted for the beef and mushroom calzone which was an award-winning recipe. It was delicious but huge and I’d already filled up on the Japanese inspired garlic bread, so I ended up taking about half home in a box which the staff prepared for me with no hesitation and even topped up my portion of the amazing blue cheese dip, which was a nice touch. I also had an excellent cup of coffee. We subtly told the waitress that one of our party was celebrating their birthday and they went above and beyond by bringing over a brownie with a candle in it. Overall I highly recommend Baked in Brick, I can’t wait to visit again.
S. R.
Lee and his Pizza van & MINI ! looked after our colleagues at Sytner BMW & MINI Tamworth for a great lunch last week. Pizza's were amazing we were all very impressed and will definitely be visiting the restaurant! Thank you again Sharon
C. O.
Delicious pizza. Amazing value with independent Birmingham card.
R. D.
The food was lovely and hardly any wait time for a Saturday!
C. M.
The staff got a bit confused to find a table for us as we walked in without a reservation but after that the service was great and the pizzas were delicious!
C. A.
Delicious pizza (huge portion). Super chilled vibe.
S. C.
Our food came very quickly and was all freshly made. The staff were lovely and the restaurant had a relaxed vibe.
J. M.
Great food, great service. An absolute gem in the custard factory!
E. L.
Baked in Brick really is a hidden gem. The food is absolutely unreal, the service was excellent and all the staff were so friendly. Amazing value for money, perfect place for date night or a catch up with friends!
C. C.
Nice location and atmosphere. Food was Ok but nothing great. Nice combinations for the pizzas. But the pizza was dry and not very rich. Service could've been better, and although one of the guests found a string in the meal the chef was quick to make a replacement pizza.
D. G.
Great meal, friendly staff and great value
D. S.
Great pizzas at reasonable prices. Some topppings were a bit stingy...
R. R.
Went here a few weeks back, amazing pizza and drinks! Online booking system was kinda weird as we got a table quicker over the phone for a time that just wasn’t available online.
L. K.
Never enjoyed pizza and Mad Goose beer as much. If you like pizza, beer and atmosphere, this place is a must. Genuinely you won't be disappointed.
S. O.
Great experience.
Went for the roast on a Sunday.
Banging food and great staff.
Would recommend as the location is brilliant to explore Digbeth from especially if you're not familiar with the area.
P. C.
Brilliant pizzas, unusual toppings.
G. A. B.
Pizza was good bit disappointed about the size. Also I ordered the special one showing on the daily suggestion. The ingredients wrote on the board didn't match with the actual pizza. I ordered a truffles pizza. I was expecting real truffle but they used truffle oil. Olson the mozzarella was not buffalo mozzarella but normal one.
K. M.
Great ambience, and super friendly staff. The portions are generous, and whilst my order wasn't quite to my taste, that's no reflection on the quality of the food here - very reasonably priced too!
A. W.
Had lunch here recently, my fiance and I had a pizza each, she had a Mac & Cheese pizza, but seemed to be mainly mac with zero cheese, can't remember what I had because it was memorable, at least I ate it. Service was great and the building is cool, pizza's could be better, won't be hurrying back.
B.
Great decor, staff were absolutely lovely and food was amazing. The ambience is definitely one to go to when visiting the custard factory
M. A.
Delicious food and excellent service: one of the best in Birmingham
A. H.
Good atmosphere. Pizzas were decent. Service was too slow.
S. R.
Pizza was incredible... I am italian and I can say that it is also difficult to find such a nice pizza there. Highly recommended.
K. P.
Great place, lovely fresh made food, definitely going back. X
K. S.
A great place in one of the livelier parts of Digbeth. The decor is welcoming and the space is quite open plan. We were fortunate to go on a 2-4-1 deal and had the duck and anchovy pizzas. Delicious and filling, there were plenty of options. Staff were wonderful and I would happily go again.
R. P.
I've been back in June 2019 but just remembered to leave a review. The food is great overall, the roast dinners they had were always realy nice and inventive so you can't get bored easesly as every day they have a different special... Their pizzas are on point, loads of vegan options if you're looking for a healthier choice. If it's still anything like before then definetley recommend trying, Digbeth is a cool place to find good street food.
A. M.
Awesome Calzone pizza and they even did a chicken same for my partner
Sexy dirty fries are a must have
H. H.
Really tasty pizza with great vegan options that don't compromise on taste! Fast service, couldn't believe how quickly we got our food. Friendly service and atmosphere.
P. S.
Good casual dining experience ideal combined with Ghetto Golf which is nearby which my friends and I did. I'd recommend the Award Winning beef calzone very mouthwatering and succulent. Overall we enjoyed our time slight complaint is we waited for longer than expected but not by much.
Y. H. “. M. Q.
Really nice pizzas and nice staff. I will come back!
S. S.
Great food, great place, thoroughly enjoyed it!!!!!
K. D.
Lovely place, good food and superb staff.
D.
Nice looking place, friendly staff and really tasty pizza. Oh, beers too. Can't really ask for much more than that! Would definitely visit again if I'm in the area. Highly recommended.
A. R.
A nice place to have a break and grab a bite whilst at the custard factory. Very nice and helpful staff
M. M.
Finally made it here for a meal after promising we must go there one of these days. Was not disappointed. Food excellent and staff very nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend
N. L.
Amazing place for share with family and friends..!!!
W. C.
Friendly & pleasant service, but definitely not overbearing. Chilled, nice atmosphere. Quality pizzas, sides and drinks! We'll be back.
H. W.
Great street food and pizza in Birmingham. Fantastic atmosphere and attentive staff. Blanco pizza was amazing. Poutine wasn’t my favourite (glorified potato wedges) and would definitely go for a pizza instead next time.
O. G.
fantastic pizzas, wish they some more veggie options (not vegan) but loved the 2 on option & yellow curry halloumi sticks were 10/10. would highly recommend.
S.
Had the anchovy pizza. Really nice - thick crust. The two for one deal (only available Thursday) represents fantastic value for money.
K. F.
Best Sunday lunch ever. I have had my share of Sunday lunches around Birmingham, some good, some appalling, most mediocre. Not this bad boy...sadly there was a lengthy wait for it but the taste and quality of the food made up for the wait.
Can also recommend the calzone on the menu and the peanut butter brownie.
R. D. P.
It's the second time today, I came when it first opened and the dough on the crust was raw and seemed under proved. I feel it was slightly better but still not great. For a place with all the legit ingredients, the wood fired oven I was expecting more. Its nice place friendly staff overall.
J. W.
Poor gluten free base letting down good quality toppings. Sadly the base is no better than one found in a supermarket pizza, and is made tough by cooking in the wood fired oven.
S. M.
Loved them when they were a street food vendor at DDC, still love them as a restaurant. Have been back 3 times with different groups and staff are always welcoming and accommodating - especially for dietary requirements. Local craft beers available. Great location for before/after Ghetto golf though i would advise booking as always busy.
I. G.
Delicious, innovative food. Great service. Cool venue. Definitely worth the visit.
C. F.
friendly staff, great pizzas, chilled atmosphere. We loved it.
A. J.
Good place to go for fresh bread and a munch. Can't wait for their Street food to start.
H.
Great location, great selection of food excellent service very friendly staff. Will definitely be back
S. A.
Wonderful food, we went for Sunday lunch and it was terrific. The pizzas were perfect and service very friendly. Try and get the booths, the chairs are quite uncomfortable.
R. T.
Great food, atmosphere and service. Definitely the freshest tasting pizza I've had. The sides are excellent too. We'll definitely return
H. J.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere!
M. C.
Great food. Great service
M. S.
Been following the Baked in Brick band for some time now, I had a special place in my heart for them, being the first street food vendor I'd ever eaten at! I have no idea how they set the course of what they're going to cook. From chicken tikka, to ribs, to now pizza! Everything they cook is just high quality, decent, hearty food. If you're looking for a relaxed place with mates, a romantic meal or even a work social, then look no further. The staff are attentive, and quick, and the owner is there if you're yearning to ask more questions.
Really good food, cooked by some real cool people. 5/5, would definitely recommend as some of the best pizza in Brum!
H. F.
All-round nice and cool place to enjoy freshly made pizza, and more! Friendly and helpful staff. Funky interior. 15% discount for Independent Birmingham members.
R. P.
Food is nice enough, wouldn't rush back. Service was a little slow and food a bit luke warm. Pizzas are definitely better than the other food items on the menu
P. P.
I feel a bit bad about the 4 star review. We've eaten here a few times and this is the 2nd Sunday lunch where had. Finding a good Sunday roast is a tricky business. Anyway, courses for £17 French onion soup and a traditional roast. The food is fantastic and the staff are friendly. Quite possibly the best Sunday lunch we've found in Brum. So why the 4 stars.. The food just takes a little bit too long arrive and there was big gap between courses. We had a similar experience last time we ate Sunday lunch here..
G. B.
Simple but well executed sourdough pizzas. Crust was one of the best I've had. Toppings were pretty good. Great service
S. P.
Pretty average pizza, a bit skimpy on the toppings and quite doughy. There are better alternatives in the city for pizza, such as Franco Manca or La Galleria.
L. S.
The restaurant is lovely, the atmosphere is really chill and the pizza is amazing.... but i wouldn't suggest ordering takeaway (delivered takeaway), its definitely better in the restaurant
S. J.
Amazing little café/restaurant. We used it as a base for our photoshoot but ordered food and drinks. The food was so tasty. We ordered pizza and various other dishes. The pizza was so nice and it came really quickly. Thank you so much. We'll definitely come back again 😍
S.
Fantastic new pizza restaurant opened up in custard factory. Staff are friendly and the food is excellent plenty to choose from off the menue. Pizzas are better then the well knows pizzarias I've eaten in. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.
A. B.
AMAZING! Staff are so lovely and polite 😊
N. (.
Great food, great atmosphere, great service
S. T.
Delicious pizza and the loaded fries were brill too!
N. P.
Ate here for the first time today, had the Sunday Lunch, which is a different special each week. Absolutely Delicious x Great service, happy and efficient, despite not being able to give us the table we were allocated, they were all incredibly helpful and made sure we were happy 😊
J. W.
Excellent pizza & good choice of beer. Service a little slow initially but fine after that. Highly recommended!
G. S.
Fabulous night for Leo Kattou's Souvlaki pop-up. Great location and service. The regular menu looks excellent and the Sunday lunches are supposedly legendary!
C. C.
Very friendly and welcoming staff, tasty food, decent prices and a lovely relaxed ambience with industrial decor. Definitely recommend for relaxed and unpretentious dining.
R. M.
Amazing ❤️ Cannot wait to return
T. R.
Nice place, great pizza. They need to add a wine list to the menu. That'll make it perfect.
D. J.
Great place, loved the vibe in there and the food was amazing. Peanut butter icecream was amazing too. Friendly staff. We will definitely be back.
S. A.
A funky industrial look with a great pizza oven .Staff were superb
M. W.
An off beat restaurant, the food is very good and different from the norm. It still has that street food feel, not too fussy but the service is excellent.
O. T.
Popped in for a quick bite for lunch. I had the chicken tikka street food wrap and it was delicious! Nice decor and good service too.
S. O.
One of the best pizzas I've ever had! Chilled atmosphere and decent prices
R. H.
Pizza's are tres bon. Only downside is there's no kids menu, so we ended up paying £16 each for a 3 and 6 year old to eat.
J. V.
Fantastic food, fantastic service!
Highly recommend
L. S.
The pizza is amazing in here and it has a nice, chilled vibe. The staff are very attentive and friendly.

Great place for lunch ... super fast service... lovely pizza 🍕 yum!
M. P.
Very good pizza but let down a tad by taking a long time to come - I get the impression they might be a bit inundated by deliveroos?
