We tried the chicken and the beef Philly sandwiches. Very nice taste. Plenty of meat. Not enough fries. Fries portion is too small I even asked for extra at the start and the waitress said no problem. Went to the grocery store next door to buy cans as they are rip off at this place. Also food came first and then the knifes and forks and sauces...they should be placed on the table before the food. No nhs discount either

Upon entering i was a-bit skeptical but didn’t want to be to quick to judge so went it and it was quite late so didn’t have everything in as some of the burgers we wanted were sold out but we was greeted by a lovely brother who’s service and hospitality was 10/10 we spoke mostly about gym can’t remember his name but a very genuine brother he gave us a few recommendations and let me tell you the burger was fire ! Fast and friendly service. Ordered the Mega Mix Burger which is a combination of two types of beef - regular burger and pulled beef and additionally there is grilled chicken inside as well. Ordered curly fries which were crunchy and soft. Also had a USA Fanta Berry (which I haven’t seen at other restaurants). Overall good experience and would go again👍

Honestly speaking one of the best steak House in Birmingham. I had 16oz medium rare T-Bone and it was perfectly cooked as asked. Also had beef ribs and they were also outclassed. Excellent customer service with friendly staff. Highly recommended......if you are Halal steak and burger fan then this is the right place to go. Also impressed by their prices and they are very reasonable and not over priced.

Had some great food tonight. The food was quality. The chicken wings and lamb chops were of a very good quality. You could just tell how good they were from the very first bite. We were served promptly and had food on our table within 25 mins of ordering and it came out piping hot! This place is way better than TruBurger/Rios, patties were thick and juicy. Salads were fresh. Thoroughly impressed. And £8-£11 per bun. For anyone visiting, it’s mainly full of 20-35 year old people. Family friendly and sound waiters. Planning to go back soon to try the steaks!

Highly reccomend this place! I've been here about 4 times now and have been happy with the food and service each time. I've tried both the burgers and steaks and have never been disappointed with the food I order. The nachos are amazing and they kids meal is a very generous size and I like that they provide real meat burgers for children rather than the standard processed chicken nuggets/ fish fingers and chips option.

I love coming here when I visit from London. Their ribs are beautifully cooked and so soft they simply fall off the bone. Sides are nice. The burgers are pretty average, although good quality beef they have more of a five guys quality to them than what you'd expect from a gourmet burger place. But it's not a huge issue as they still taste very good. Highly recommended.

Just like any other burger place to he fair, they try to out their on spin on it but not successfully. The staff were polite and attentive. The food on the other hand was bland in terms of flavour, I ordered the hot and spicy chicken fried burger with peri fries, the fries were average and didn't taste anything special, the burger although visually looked good was bland, and no hot or spicy taste to it whatsoever, I ended up putting chilli sauce on the burger myself to bring some taste into it. The chicken in the burger was well cooked though. Overall average burger joint in my opinion, prices slightly high for what you get.

I chose to visit this restaurant for the very first time on Sunday night for my very rare kid free date night and I'm so glad I did. The food and service was 10/10. Food was fresh flavoursome and delicious would recommend this place to everyone. Thank you for making my evening extra special with the amazing food. Great place for meat lovers. The steak was done nicely with no chewy or tough bits. The ribs were really good they were juicy and the portion was a good size. Tge size of the steak was good with little a marbling for the extra taste. The place was clean and maybe 10 tables. Good place for for groups or couples. Ample parking on street opposite. Visited bun and steak and the food was good. We got a couple of burger and some loaded fries. The burgers were well cooked and seasoned but were very messy. Prices were in line with most burger places at the moment. All in all it was a good visit with good customer service. Would visit again.

Nice & fairly cheap place. You can eat some tasty burgers, I personally recommend Mega Mix Burger which is a combination of two types of beef - regular burger and pulled beef and additoonaly there is chicken burger inside as well. You can expect some melted cheese inside too, it's not bad at all. French fries are prepared according to your order - you can have regular ones, gourmet fries or have them curly.

One of the best burger joints in Birmingham. Meaty and satisfying double burgers in soft Brioche buns. They have blend of beef just right in their burgers however they're not soft and fatty...but lean and dense. The extra Turkey Bacon Rashers and Fried Onions take it to another level. Perhaps as enticing as their burgers are their crispy Gourmet Fries shaped for dipping and the star of the show is their chilli beef (with cheese sauce if you like) to go on top. Service is always friendly and attentive, and the decor is modern and fresh. Finally prices are unbeatable for this quality. Highly recommended!

6 of us visited on a monday night. It was pretty busy. I was impressed with the cleanliness and decor. For starters we ordered nachos and potato skins. Both were excellent. A bit spicy but delish! I had the Philly cheese steak! I was impressed. The ribs were too bland but well cooked and soft. Ive never had ribs so I wouldn't know much. Others ordered sirloin steak and chicken steak, they mentioned it was okay and get both peppercorn and mushroom sauces. They tend to compliment each other. The service wasn't on point, the waiters were nice but didnt serve us cutlery or plates with starters or with our surprise bday cake, and forgetting our order. The little stuff which adds up. I would recommend this place if you want something new to try.

(12/04/18) Another trip to Bun & Steak and had the Philly Cheesesteak. I must say it was absolutely bangin! If you know anything about the Philly Cheesesteak, then I've eaten at some of the top placses in New York and Philly and this was up there with the best... top draw 10/10.

We went here for a late lunch and we both decided to go for the burgers. They have a lot of choice on their menu when it comes to their steaks and burgers, however no t so much that you feel overwhelmed. Upon entering we were greeted and seated, and given some information regarding their menu. It's worth noting if you're after the ribs, it's only available after 5pm. I went for "The Whammer" described as Two beef patties, lettuce, ketchup, mayonnaise, hash brown, onion rings, fried egg & bacon. She went for the "Mega Mix" described as Beef patty, grilled chicken, pulled BBQ beef, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, relish & mayonnaise. We both got chilli cheese fries as our sides. We both also got Fanta as our beverage of choice as they had some interesting flavours that you normally don't see. We opted for Peach and Berry Fanta. The food was delicious and the meat was cooked to perfection. No overcooked, dry meat was to be found. The burgers were very generously packed, and all the other components within the burgers equally well cooked. Both of us left well fed for a very reasonable price. We will definitely be going back here.

We had the rack of ribs which were good but i have to say they don't beat Rump and Ribs in Manchester then the steak i asked for it to be done with no pink in middle and it was like medium rare so was not happy, they didnt do any milkshakes or mojitos and when got the bill there was extra money charged which was rectified when asked about it, so always check the bill to see if they charged you correctly, also the girl at the front of house was a bit annoyed when asked for new knife and fork, tbh wasnt happy with the service recieved, it is priced high for the portions you get, as we had the steaks the steaks were smaller than expected, if u only want steak then try yaqubs

Absolutely delicious, classic burger was massive, OH had full rack of ribs......amazing, sides were hot, crispy and fresh. Ordered two portions of lamb chops yummy!!!!! Far too much food for us both in the end but so impressed with the quality and quantity for the money spent. Collected rather than had delivery. Ready in 15minutes. Only disappointment was drinks weren't put in, but OH collected and I didn't remind him, minor really considering the meal we just ate......will definitely be back! 💯 👌🏻😀

Absolutely love this place. I've returned many times which is a rarity for me be a return customer at any eatery. I am an absolute food and steak critic,and no other place apart from Marco Pierre has come close (but who has time to make that effort everytime you fancy a decent burger or steak; plus adds up). When you order rare/medium they get it spot on first time without schooling you! I've had many places try to educate me about my steak when they get it wrong!! I can say never had this experience and the advertised weight is what you get. I KNOW my steaks more than the average person and the price reflects the quality, it really is top. However, never did I think I'd chose burgers over a steak meal, and really their burgers are amazing and great original recipes. I recently tried a new addition I believe it was the "chilli burger" Which included double beef patties with beef chilli and cheese. Really was decadent and morish! I've not personally had the ribs yet,but everyone loves them seem very popular everytime I go! I just can't break away from my favourites because they do them so well!!! Maybe a sharing plate next time! Also love the chilli con carne, deserves a mention oh and the nachos! Being a brum local and at least having visited most popular eateries once, I can confidently say this is the only place I've visited with high frequency over last year, as many places don't reach my benchmark for taste/quality/service. Everytime I go, the quality and food is consistent, which I can't say for too many places in Birmingham. I like their menu, the layout is straight to the point and doesn't give you decision fatigue. Some places you offer you the Argos catalogue for a menu and you feel like you should have revised! Also the service and the decor deserve a mention. Contemporary "hipster" decor and very polite and attentive staff. What makes me qualified to say they're a cut (pun fully intended) above their competition? Well, I have eaten (halal) steak up and down this country apart from the afore mentioned place, nothing has come close to perfection. I used to order my matured meats online and make my OWN with my own specific method. I'm a cook of ten years and I'm a badass cook. However it's nice to be able to go out and enjoy steak and good quality meat burgers (I don't eat processed rubbish) as an option also. I hope this place decides to franchise their idea if people are willing to keep the quality and menu. Also location is great, it's unlike the busy Ladypool road (though not far at all), ladypool road can feel like a cattle market at busier times plus the waiting times! And if you want dessert, only have to pop next door! Hope this was helpful and credit where credit is due. P.s. unjust pic didn't realise I would be doing this review. Next time I go and if I can edit in the pics I shall!

To begin with, my overall experience with this restaurant was mixed. Expectations were high and some were met whereas others were not. For starters, I ordered chicken strips with mild peri peri sauce. It upsets me to say that this was the highlight of my meal. The chicken strips were tender and well cooked, came off with ease once I bit into them and were accompanied by a rich peri sauce that that came with a sweet and mildly chilly flavour. The aftertaste was the perfect cherry on top with its subtle hints of lemon. Its a shame that the main course did not live up to the same standards. I had ordered the T bone steak with fries and a peri burger to go with it. The T bone steak looked promising with its tender looking outward appearance. As soon as I cut a piece and ate the steak, I knew something was wrong as the steak was far too soft and insides were that of a rare steak despite ordering a medium rare. It had to be sent back, recooked and once done I finished the rest off. However, I was left with a bad stomach that provided a lengthy trip to the toilet. The fries were standard and the peri burger was overpowered with flavour that just didnt taste subtle. However, this could come down to personal preference. Overall, the experience was mid tier with a few hiccups but I believe its worth revisiting and giving a second chance due to its abundance of choice and friendly staff as well as its good service.

Went on the first day of eat out to help out scheme. Rang up and booked a table for 6 people for 5.15pm (so not too busy yet). The waiter took our order but an hour later came back to tell us they accidentally lost our order. The waiter was really sorry and retook our order and made sure our food came out as soon as possible. He also gave all the drinks for the table for free. The food (when it did come out) was absolutely amazing. Everyone had clean plates. We would definitely return again. We were lucky we got there early. Queue started forming outside quite quickly. Best to avoid going peak time 6-8pm.

I came here on a early Friday evening with my wife and daughter. Atmosphere: nice and colourful. Service: Very good, we were served by Rawan who looked after the front and back . The owner came out to check on us and other guests to make sure our food was good and we were happy. Food: I had a mega mix burger, great tasting burger loaded fries and my wife ordered the southern fried burger, Food was exceptional ! Would recommend for families and singletons, great choice in burgers and steaks and service second to non.

I went to Bun & Steak with my family and we all left very happy, incredibly full and keen to come again. The burgers are the best I've ever eaten; huge and succulent and moreish. They really don't skimp out on the meat either, which is a big plus. I also absolutely loved the fries, especially because you can upgrade them with various toppings. I chose cheese sauce and it was yum! The service was excellent; very professional and friendly. Overall a great place for both meat-lovers and, believe it or not, Vegetarians (my Vegan sister was well-catered for).

Our go to burger place! Been coming here since it first opened a few years ago. And to this day, it does not disappoint. Food is delicious and tasty. Amazing service and selection, from buns replaced with doughnuts to ribs half a metre long. The burger I had was warm and perfectly cooked with plenty of delicious juices pouring from every angle. The chips were also amazing with a crisp wedge style take beautifully seasoned and a perfect pair to the burgers on the menu. The barbecue ribs were amazingly succulent and tore from the bone easily and came with two sides chips and a salad easily fills even a foodies stomach and satisfys anyones appetite. All of this amazing food for an incredibly fair price with an amazing choice of drinks on the side, however the table numbers are fairly limited and the time you wait for a meal is a bit long considering the not amazing atmosphere and limit of no starters to clean your pallete or to entertain you whilst you wait. Overall this restaurant is possibly the greatest place to go in birmingham if you want good food and you are on a Liberal budget. (if I were to advise anything it would be to go on a Saturday if you don't want to reserve, from what I saw it was fairly empty from about 19:00) also would definitely recommend the doughnut burger as the two glazed doughnuts that replace the buns offer an amazing yet strange combination of flavours, an amazing use of fourteen pounds. My second visit to bun and steak. The first time I tried one of the burgers and it was amazing, the second time I had the T - Bone steak. And that had to be the best steak I have ever had. They do gravy, a few more vegetables on the side may have been better, but the steak was worth it and well cooked. The place, atmosphere and especially the service was great. In the world of Halal burger and steak places in Birmingham, this is pretty high up. I had a burger and the meat was quite nice, I found it a bit strange that they had used two patties together rather than one large pattie, but the waiter insisted they weren't frozen rather made fresh each day. The cheese was very nice, perfectly melted. The lettuce and sauces were very cold and that was a small complaint I had, but they tasted fresh. I avoided the steak as Asian places generally tend to spice the steak and ruin it, but not sure if these guys do. Judging from the chilli on the chilli fries though, they spice like Asians do. Fair enough for the clientele but I am a big fan of more original flavours. The range of menu was a little limited, and the two different burgers we ordered tasted very very similar, even though the descriptions were quite different. The decor and ambience were decent too although a bit quiet. I would have given it a 3 star rating but the excellent service made it 4 stars for me.

We visited on Sunday 3rd September - a group of 10. The decor and atmosphere are perfect. The service and staff are very welcoming and always have infectious smiles on their face! Big plus guys! Possibly the best service we receieved in birmingham. Although we did have a very long wait (almost an hour) and food was coming out one by one, the food was worth the wait for sure! One disappointment was that they didnt have everything in stock, although we did visit on eid weekend so it may have been busy leading to things finishing. I shall be back to try the other things. Masterclass in steak cookery absolutely perfect! The staff took 2 burgers off the bill due to the wait but we decided to pay it all and leave a little extra for them as the food and service could not be faulted. I will be back for sure!
